Mid sniffle, Annaliza felt a pair of warm arms encircle her and hold her close. Her ice blue eyes focused on Taylor and she leaned into the embrace before wiping the slight wetness from her eyes.

' Perhaps one day I'll speak to you using my voice. Until that point, I hope it's alright if I continue talking to you through writing. '

She paused a second to let that sink in before scribbling something else.

' You sound a lot like my father. He said the same thing, although not as nicely. I was basically told that he was going to slap some sense into my if I continued to blame myself for their death's. My mom didn't approve of the way he talked to me, but the two of them are incredibly in love so the words she directed at him weren't very harsh, all things considered. '

Their order arrived just before Taylor said he had something to tell her. Reaching out and grabbing her shake, she took a few sips and nibbled on her sandwich before scribbling once more on the sketchpad. There were a million things running through her mind and she hoped that none of them were correct. It wasn't unusual ( in fact it was almost unheard of for someone not to ) for someone to date others while they waited for the date on their wrist to arrive. Maybe Taylor already had a girlfriend and that's what he needed to tell her. Tightening her grip on her bear, she focused on her writing

' I hope it's nothing bad. I'll gladly listen to anything you have to say though. '

Dyami had just finished his shift at the hospital without so much as a glimmer from his wrist, and he was thankful for that. Being a doctor could be taxing at times because you had to watch people grieve over the loss of their soul mates, or thank you profusely for saving their lover, child, family member, ect. Luckily the name on his wrist was still as blue as always and he knew they were still out there enjoying life. Well; at least he hoped they were enjoying their life. Slipping out of his coat and changing into a pair of jeans and a grey t-shirt, he grabbed his stuff and exited the hospital.

Today was the day he would meet his soul mate, and it was only 1am so he was going to go home and get a few hours of sleep before going out for some breakfast. By the time he reached his house and unlocked the door, he was pretty much dead on his feet and the couch looked incredibly inviting, so he curled up there. He slept until almost 9 when his alarm went off to let him know he had a notification. Groaning unhappily and pulling his phone out of his pocket, he stared at the screen where a message from a co-worker was demanding his attention.

' Call me immediately ' it said, so he called and the phone was picked up on the first ring.

" Dyami, thank god. "

" What's wrong? "

" There is a patient here and they won't stop bleeding. I've tried everything and nothing seems to work! I'm afraid we're going to l- "

" Slow down and explain the situation to me Chris. I can't help if I don't know what's wrong. "

Chris spent the next minute quickly rattling off symptoms and injuries and pleaded with Dyami to help. Luckily Dyami didn't need more than the first few symptoms to figure out what was wrong.

" The problem is probably with the wound itself. Did you check for bone fragments in the nearby tissue? "

" Ye-No. "

" Sometimes the bone will break in places that can only be seen on an X-Ray, so you need to check the immediate area even if you don't think something is broken. "

After a few more minutes of conversation and Chris letting him know that the blood was slowing down, Dyami hung up the phone and rubbed his face. Leaving the phone on the couch he headed upstairs, fed Larry, took a quick shower ( and changing into a blue shirt with grey jeans ) and then grabbed his phone, wallet, and keys before leaving the house to grab himself some breakfast. It wasn't that Dyami was a bad cook, he just normally didn't want to spend the time it took to make the food. Making his way toward the park, he ignored the itching of his wrist and grabbed breakfast to go from one of the park vendors. He was halfway through his sandwich when the itch turned to a burn and he stared down at his wrist where his watch was covering up the ink.

Listening to Alekaiser talk, she was relieved to find they shared a few hobbies, and the ones they didn't weren't fundamentally opposed. The whole soulmate system really did seem to work out for the moment since, appearances aside, Alekaiser probably was the type of person she'd choose for herself, someone with a safe, normal job who she could hang out with at home when she wanted to. That aside, it seemed she hadn't even noted that the waitress had brought her the burger she'd ordered, odd considering very little tended to escape Aura's attention. When you served in a battle-zone, particularly the Middle East, you tended to get an eye for detail and an awareness of your situation. Sometimes, it made the difference between spotting a militant early or getting ambushed by people you'd taken for civilians mere minutes earlier. She'd just been too absorbed in the conversation for even her usually keen perception to notice that. She blushed a little from embarrassment upon becoming aware of the food, but then something about Alekaiser caught her eye.

His eyes seemed to change color for a moment, such a short period of time that she'd have assume it was nothing more than a trick of her eyes if she'd blinked. The difference between his normal blue and the strange yellow that had consumed his eyes for that brief moment was pronounced, and hard not to notice when you were looking at his face to begin with. That said, what could that possibly indicate about him? She'd served with a few non-human Rangers, but she'd never gotten a good feel for the other species and what marked them. That said, if he wasn't going to mention it, neither was she. She'd come to realize that it was best to get people to tell you things of their own initiative, so she'd just have to wait for Alekaiser to want to tell her. Besides, they were soulmates, it wasn't like she had a limited amount of time to get him to open up to her, she had the rest of her life. That said though, if he was something other than human, she may have to accustom herself to the idea of him not only outliving her, but looking the same as he does now even when she was old and gray. She visibly shook these thoughts from her mind for now, however, reminding herself "You literally just met him, it's a little early to think about the rest of your life."

That done, she nodded to him and smiled, commenting "Yeah, I prefer to move around anyway, something of a habit. How about we take a walk then, head around the city? I can show you the station I work at and maybe the park where I work out, and you can show me some of your favorite spots. Just a suggestion though, if you have a better idea don't hesitate to speak up." The last bit was hurriedly added, making sure he knew she was flexible as far as this went. Her men had always appreciated a bit of flexibility, and she appreciated it from the brass, so she always made sure to give it when she could.

Victoria had, at some point or another, found herself sitting in a small open section of the park where people hadn't wandered. The lush green grass padded her a seating place as she appeared to be talking to herself or the young canine waddling about her. She'd ignored most the people coming over and patting Kubik as she just called him away when she needed him, the sound of upset people, especially children when she done this made her partially smile just for a bit of amusement. Though Kubik, in her opinion needed to maintain the recall he'd already learned.

She spoke lightly as she called the creature over, "Kubik , Davay!" As he moved within a closer proximity she'd pull a small little beef flavored treat from a pouch she carried, "Khoroshiy Mal'chik!" she'd praise him allowing him to eat the small piece. She'd been slowly working on teaching him to sit and she raised a hand with another small piece of treat, "Kubik , Sidet'!" the little velvet nasal of the husky trailed after the treat upwards and above his own body, causing his rump to hit the floor as his tail wagged upon yet another appraisal session and another treat.

Victoria would call that enough after a few repeats beforehand and leaned back to lay upon the greenery of the field, pale eyes trailing up to the bright blue sky as she smiled and made a light groan as Kubik began pouncing over her and mouthing at fingers, hands, arms and occasionally shoe laces, though he tried to play tug-of-war with those she'd just wiggle her feet to entertain him while she remained flat on her back. That was until an odd feeling began to itch in her wrist, barely moving to glance she'd pull that arm over her abdomen to meet the other where lengthy nails dug at the skin lightly trying to sustain what she expected was a usual itch.

After another short moment she'd sit up to find herself facing a rather curious Kubik and smiled lightly before the burning in her wrist suddenly intensified to a not so ignore-able feeling. Unclasping the metal backside of her watch she'd slide it up her forearm a bit to glance at the faintly glowing scripture etched into her flesh. The date ringing in her eyes as she took in a deep breath, 'Th-that's t-today,' she'd think to herself, 'C-can't be today, no, I'm not ready, pick another day,' she'd continue on, some parts muttered under her breath as she suddenly began to glance up at the shuffling crowds go by whilst wrapping her spare hand around her wrist trying to ease the sensation that made her skin crawl with nerves.

Right again Sven said with a smile, Latvia to be specific beautiful country not much else, but beautiful he finished with a chuckle. He did note she was acting a little strange, almost a little awkward actually, he couldn't really blame her he'd probably be just as shocked if she was a decade older than he was. His smile never slipping Sven slid up in the seat again, he leaned forward and placed his elbows on the consul in between the seats.

I lived there until just a little over a year ago, then I got a job offer from Cornell university and well here I amhe paused to look over at her, she really was quite pretty, and cute in a dangerous kinda way. He blinked a couple times, what on earth was he thinking he was probably giving off that creepy old guy vibe right now. He cleared his throat and continued what about you have you always lived here?

When the burning in his wrist got to the point where it felt like something was making a hole in it, he loosened his watch and stared at the letters inked into his skin. He'd never tried to look the name up since he'd wanted it to be a surprise, and now not knowing was a little annoying. After all, it's kind of hard to ask if the one your wrist is reacting to is the right one because you don't know their name. Rolling his shoulders, he finished his sandwich and just tossed the wrapper into the garbage when his phone rang. Chris was calling and he hoped that he wasn't calling just to chat.

" Doctor Iwatoke. "

" Dyami, I think you might need to come back to the hospital for a while. "

" Did something happen? "

" Yeah. There was a really bad accident on the highway. 4 people were brought in; 1 in critical condition, 1 with severe injuries, and the the other 2 are going to make it with just some bruises and minimal scarring. "

" Give me more details about the one in critical condition, and where is doctor Gerard? "

" His vacation started today and he's halfway across the country right now. "

That was right. Dyami had probably forgotten about it without realizing. He continued to walk while listening to Chris, and he wasn't paying much attention to where his feet were taking him until he heard the yip of a puppy. His attention was immediately drawn to a small husky pup and the woman who appeared to be his owner while he faintly heard Chris calling his name.

" Dyami! Did you get all that? "

" Yeah, I got everything. Make sure you splint her legs, do a tracheotomy, and keep her from rolling over until I get there to remove the fragments from her lungs. "

One of the disadvantages to being one of the best Trauma Surgeons, was that you got called in a lot to take care of patients even if you had just left a few hours ago or if it was your day off.

" What if she codes? "

" Then follow standard procedure. You can do this Chris, I believe in you. "

Chris was pretty much Dyami's intern and a relatively young doctor. He's just graduated medical school and was full of energy ( as well as questions ). Dyami didn't mind though, because it kept him on his toes.

Taylor let her hand go and put his hands in his lap and started to twiddle his thumbs. He always did this as a kid whenever him and Bobby got in trouble. OH MY GOD!!!!! If you don't just tell her, she won't freak out just spit it out already, your making us look bad. Taylor's palms were stating to sweat. He had not told to many people about Bobby, most could tell that he can be an entirely different person but they never suspected that he had Bobby in his head. The only person he had ever told was his mom, not even his dad knows, she was very calm about the situation and even tried to get Taylor "help". Bobby hates her because she tried to have Taylor erase him or at least block him off.

Now Taylor ha to trust someone else with his secret, but this is not just some random person, but his soul mate, that he is supposed to live the rest of his life with, she would have found out eventually. "Soooooo....There is something is something about me that is not normal. As he said this he made eye contact with her. I 'm gettin old over here, tell her already. Taylor winced and just let the flood gates open. "EversinceIwasyoungIhavehadanotherpersoninmyheadnamedBobbyheislikemyalteregoandiswithmeallthetime." He took a deep breath and looked every where but at her. Try again you idiot, you really need to get more comfortable with my existence my man, I'm not going anywhere and explain it clearly and go slow. Taylor chuckled and looked at Annaliza, but with warmth this time. "Sorry about that it's really hard for me to talk about him..um Bobby I mean. He is the other guy in my head. He has been here all my life and I don't know how he got here. My mother took me to see all the best doctors as a kid but he is stuck with me, they called it Indefinite Dissociative identity Disorder. Ya so that's my thing, he likes you, just thought I should mention that." Thr last statement came with a nervous smile. Taylor sat there waiting for her decree on his situation.

Having been distracted glancing at the shuffling people through the parks trails Victoria hadn't noticed little Kubik wander off a short distance, her hand still rubbing at her wrist trying to remove that irritating feeling it gave off. As soon as a small yelp hit her ears her head would snap off to one side to look at Kubik now scurrying back after possibly being trodden on by the man with his phone. Extending her arms and grasping the pup once in reach she'd cradle him within her lap, "Legko Kubik , ty v poryadke ," she'd offer the small canine as she leaned down to rub her nose to his.

As she heard the man continue speaking into his mobile device she'd raise her head once more and stare at him with bright, sapphire hues. Her wrist now burning stronger than before as she pulled her watch back once more and began to scratch the glowing ink. She wasn't 100%, but, by the feels of it, the guy standing and talking about some complicated stuff she didn't know, was the one her wrist was making all the fuss over.

She would really offer any words as she saw the man still holding the device to his ear. Her white tank top now partially coated in the faint green stains from laying upon the grass and stained by the small dirt particles Kubik had smeared over her from their small play session, she knew at this point she wasn't exactly in a proper state to meet someone who looked to be so busy.

As he remained on the phone her eyes would trail over his figure, the shoulder length black hair that outlined his face so perfectly, the tanned skin that contrasted deeply to the pale alabaster hue of her own and the eyes, the eyes caught her attention as she couldn't help but stare ... that was until she caught herself out and looked back down at the tired looking Kubik still curled up within her crossed legs.

He couldn't help but note that he did find it somewhat cute how Aura blushed, though why he could not say really at that moment. The more they talked the more he realized he definitely could settle down with someone like her but that decision was still a bit away and he only had just met her. "Yeah sure, here I'll pay for both meals," he said taking out some cash glad that it seemed Aura hadn't noticed the eye color change for that brief moment. He would tell her what he was eventually but didn't feel that he was ready quite yet. He paid the waitress for both meals before leading the way out of the cafe back to the outside world.

"So first lieutenant care to lead the way?" he asked all the while pondering on how to tell her what he was along with questioning the consequences. How it would effect them even if she accepted what he was. He wouldn't necessarily live forever but his life was somewhat longer then an average human he knew. He could technically change her but he wouldn't want to do that against her will and even then there were risks for that since not everyone survived their first change or could go mad because of it. He once again pushed the concerns to the side, they would cross that bridge when they hit that point for now it was best to continue what they had been doing.

"So nice day isn't it?" he stated as they began their walk.

"Ah no, I'm actually from Montreal. Canada. I've only lived in the United States for aboot 2 years or so. My dad got transferred here for his job." Ashley paused, turning on her blinker before switching lanes. She'd need to turn left soon, and although you would think that the center lane would let you turn left, it only allowed straightaways. It was a pain in the ass. It would probably only take 10 minutes to get to 5th and Central at this pace.

"It definitely took me awhile to get used to living here. So much is the same, but at the same time, a lot of little things are different. One thing I am glad for is that I don't need to use my French much here. It's not very good. Up in Quebec, the French Canadians require everything written in both French and English, but a lot of times, the English is written so small you can't read it. At that point, why even bother with the effort to write English on there too? It feels more like an insult than a courtesy then. It's bullshit. And if you try speaking English in some of the French-owned restaurants, assholes will pretend like they can't speak it even though I know they do. The pricks. Ah, I must have been ranting a bit there, sorry."

Cool and shadowed, the home seemed quaint and the three males that seemed to be arguing caught his attention. He gave his gray scarf a nervous twist as he tried to decide whether or not this was bad but it cleared after he realized they must be family.

The family stuff was unusual to him, he'd never seen anything like it before and it personally confused him just a tad. He'd never had much of a family, an only child to a mother who refused to have any more kids ever since one had been born with the hooked claws of a dragon. He'd never even had close outer family, his cousins a pair of twins that often like to jive about him being half animal with the claws and it had hurt his overly sensitive feelings at that time.

He often felt a little sensitive towards the claws because they were so strange, they readily reminded him that he was never going to be human. He was never going to die and he was never going to feel normal.

He was watching them while they interacted, trying to decide whether or not he could add a word in or not but he decided that it might be best to keep his mouth shut. The family seemed close despite the slight arguing and he found it kind of endearing. They really seemed to love each other, it was kind of nice to see how warm they were and he watched Elnarin leave with a small feeling of reluctance but he turned to face Paul.

Paul was obviously a human in all aspects, he didn't quite fit into his family of elves and for some reason that made Roderick feel comfortable. They were two of a kind here, the only two who were nowhere near being elves.

He offered the man a smile, extending one hand to him and tilting his head slightly. He overlooked him slightly and decided that he seemed nice enough, even though his two boys seemed unimpressed with what he had to teach. Roderick's own stepdad had been human, a redhead named Erik who had often looked at him with something strange in his eyes. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Paul. Roderick Duchannes, though I'm sure you know that by now. I'm a warlock."

Solenne was, at first surprised, at the nonchalance that Mia showed to his advanced age. It made him smile ever so slightly, a ghost of a grin on ancient lips. The vampire watched as she motioned around the cafe and informed him about her life and history "And now I'm here, as a barista in this cafe." Solenne gave a short laugh at the age difference between them and the joke she had made before looking around the cafe. It was quaint but busy, Mia seemed as though she was fitting into the life of a barista with some ease. His eyes traced her face once more, she seemed as though she would be quite popular with the people that frequent these cafes.

"My parents didn't like my choices very much. Then again, they used to tell me not to get involved with boys until I was 30."

Solenne nearly choked on his coffee, before sheepishly grinning at her laugh “Oh...wow..protective?” He smiled once more “I wonder how they’d feel about me…” He said idly, imagining the reaction they would have finding out exactly who Solenne was. Unless Mia herself had also been subject to the heart wrenching loss that was a strikethrough burning across the wrist. Mia had reached across the table to brush a fingertip against his jacket, asking about his work and his passion. His hand moved gently over hers, twining fingers together. The compulsion to come in contact with her proved too strong for him “I assure you Mia...in my many years...I’m yet to meet a boring person” he smiled before continuing to answer her question “I am a musician...I wonder if you can guess what music genre I’m pulled to?..and don’t say classical because by the gods that’s a movie cliche!” he gave a short laugh.

“I wonder how they’d feel about me…” Mia cocked her head to the side, evaluating the question. Her old-fashioned and traditional parents. How would they react to a vampire on their doorstep? They were endearing and sweet people - but tolerance and acceptance had not been some of the lessons they had imparted on her. Mia had picked that up elsewhere.

Solenne curled their hands together and, embarrassingly, Mia could feel her pulse pick up. She ducked her head a little in an effort to hide the heat that climbed her cheeks, despite the chaste nature of the action. In the cafe, there were all sorts around, and towards the back of the shop she could see a couple joined at the lips, looking as though they had no intention of coming up for air. There was nothing at all risque about holding hands. But, then again, Mia hadn't seen anything more than that in Singapore. So she pulled herself together and laughed with Solenne. "Darn," she said, a jesting hint to her voice. "That would have been my first choice." She tossed a loose lock of hair behind her ear. But Mia would have to be frank to herself; she didn't know music from Adam. She had an absolute dearth of knowledge in this field. Oh, no mistake though, Mia enjoyed listening to it - dancing around in the back-kitchen away from customer's eyes as she prepared an order, with her earphones tucked in - but she doubted Solenne could be oft found playing a wicked acoustic rendition of Sail by Awolnation on the ivories. With a visible wince on her face, Mia hedged a doubtful guess. "Jazz?" She dragged out the a in the word, doubt pulling at its tail.

"But, as for my parents, I think they would love to meet someone like you. Dapper, mature, wise." She gave Solenne a pointed look. Those last two would hold especially true what with the time he had spent on earth, but oh wouldn't her parents be pleased that their daughter who paced herself with the hectic beat of life had come across a level head with two firmly grounded feet? Not to mention, there could be no denying that they would approve of him as strikingly handsome. "And a musician at that too. Impressive." She beamed confidently at Solenne from across the table. "Solenne, they would adore who you are."

Dyami's attention was focused on the woman, trying to figure out if she was the one who was making his wrist react, and he didn't notice that Chris was practically yelling in his ear.

" Dyami! Are you paying attention? "

" Yeah I'm paying attention. My wrist is just bothering me. "

Chris' yelling immediately quieted and all Dyami could really hear was the beeping of machines and the voices of various people in the background.

" Do you think it's them? "

" It might be them. Being pansexual can be somewhat of a curse if you can't translate the name of your soul mate. "

Scratching at the skin on his wrist with one hand, he went through a bunch of procedures in his head before deciding on his best current option for the operation.

" Send me pictures of the wounds and call me immediately if anything happens. I'll be there in 10 minutes. Don't let her die; got it? "

" I'll do my best. Just hurry Dyami. "

Ending the call and heading over so he didn't have to shout, he waved to the woman and offered her a smile.

" Hello ma'am. My name is Dyami. I'm a doctor and just got called to come in and perform a surgery. If your wrist is reacting like mine is, would you mind coming to the hospital and talking to me after the surgery? "

Pulling a card out of his wallet, he handed it to her and then hurried off to the hospital. When he was about halfway there, his phone beeped and he looked at the pictures he'd been sent. He was definitely going to have to go in from the side because the front was a complete mess. He really preferred having a access route where he could see everything, rather than having to waste time wading through dead tissue and fragments of god knows what to get to the problem. At least the tracheotomy looked clean and well executed, so her airway was no longer blocked and she'd be able to breathe.

Annaliza blinked several times after he spoke and then wrote some things down while chewing on her sandwich.

' You have another person making a home for himself inside your head? Well at least that's not as bad as my cousin, who thought that her shoe was her best friend and cried relentlessly when she outgrew them and her parents tried to give them away. We used to live right next to them, so I could hear her screaming and cursing at her parents, saying they were bad people for trying to give her friend away. It was a mess. '

A smile tugged at the corner of her lips and she sipped her milkshake before kissing Taylor's cheek.

' I don't mind that you have this Bobby person in your head. It might be interesting later on to play the guess who game. '

Nibbling on the fries that came with her sandwich, she looked at what he had ordered and realized that it was relatively untouched. Taking one of her fries, she opened her mouth in a sort of ' ahh ' motion and waited for him to accept the food she was offering. She didn't really think that is was fair that she was happily enjoying her food while he looked somewhat of a nervous wreck after he'd revealed something incredibly important, so she was trying to rectify the situation. After all, despite having someone's name on your wrist, if that person didn't accept you for who you were, it could be a devastating blow. She wanted to show him that she was going to take him as is; split personality and all.

~
@corrosive

" Well, I might've known your name, but I didn't know you'd be such a nice young man. Warlock or not, you're welcome in my home. "

He gestured towards the quaint 2 story house and then at the table where a whole bunch of food was set out.

" Care for a bite to eat? Llamryl is quite an excellent cook and you can thank Elnarin for the meat. "

Normally, Elnarin went hunting in the surrounding area and used his bow to bring down game so they'd have meat. This time however, his mother had wanted to try something different and had sent Elnarin with Paul to the supermarket to pick out some chicken. Needless to say, Elnarin had been sort of appalled at they way they wrapped plastic around meat and called it ' fresh '; but he came around when he talked to Paul and the human responded in what Elvish he knew that it was perfectly normal ( and an everyday practice for most people ) to buy packaged meat. Elnarin still hadn't liked it, but he had begrudgingly put the chicken on to slow cook overnight in it's own juices along with herbs and spices.

When the twins returned with the kit he'd asked for, he went over to Roderick and showed it to him. It was his bow kit, and had basically anything an archer or elven bowman could need. Cleaning, sharpening, repairing, creating; all the tools were in there, you just had to know how to use them. Unfortunately for Kellam, he'd learned the hard way that an arrow sharpener is not something you just casually put your hands on. It had taken at least a week to get all of the little metal shavings out of his hand, and he'd whined and complained like a small child ( because he was one at the time ) because it stung when they put the antibiotic on his skin.

" I'd be happy to show you a few things after the meal if you'd like. "

Ale went up and paid for both of their, untouched, meals while Aura got to her feet. This made her feel a little bad since, as a Ranger, she'd been taught independence, and now she was letting someone who was just barely not a stranger pay for her food. For now, however, she convinced herself to let him feel like the big shining knight man for now, after all it couldn't hurt. Besides, he was a programmer, if she really needed to lay down the law later she could do it easily. That in mind, she made sure to put her beret back on and followed along behind him, and something finally occurred to her. He hadn't shown any reaction to her unit, so maybe he didn't realize they were an elite unit? All the better she supposed, since that would prevent any undue treatment on account of her skill at killing people. As much as she prided herself in being good at her job, she didn't quite enjoy the particulars. Thankfully, in the National Guard and as a member of the police force, she'd be definitely helping people instead of fighting in a foreign country.

These unhelpful thoughts aside, she was glad to walk outside with him, though she wasn't going to hold his hand or do anything sappy yet. This was, well, their first "date" she supposed, but still they didn't know each other well enough to do that kind of couple stuff yet. So, she kept her hands in her pockets as they walked, adding in reply to his comment "Rangers lead the way, after all, and yeah, it really is pretty nice out here. Just got done working out earlier, so I'm glad that it stayed pretty cool outside. Speaking of, c'mon, I'll show you the park." That said, she began to walk with a purpose towards the park she'd left not too long ago. It was only a few blocks down, so the walk wans't far, but she made sure to pace herself. This was less for her benefit, of course, and more for Alekaiser's. Programmers may be intelligent, but it'd be negligent of her to expect the same level of physical fitness from him as the Army gave her.

Béatrix was following after a lead the NYPD had given her on a rogue vampire in the area. Ever since the marks had started forming on species other than humans, more and more supernatural beings were crawling out of the woodwork. Most humans in places of power were not too keen on the murderous tendencies of some of these other species. Vampires, like her, were not without fault, and the humans often wanted them taken care of just the same. Like a loaded gun, Trixy saw no difference in killing one species over another, although, if it was a werewolf, the kill gave her a particular high. The police force overlooked Trixy’s shady past and her vampirism in order to use her as a member of a suicide squad of sorts. She was hard to kill, had superhuman sight and hearing, and she possessed a unique ability to be able to manipulate the minds of those around her.

Murder was a good way to pass the time, especially if it made the world a better place to live in. Before working with the military, and the law, Béatrix killed based on her own morals of who was good and who was bad, and let’s just say her moral compass doesn’t always point due north. Maybe it did once, but that was a long, long time ago, before vampirism had a chance to take root in her body, and before the ability to love was ripped from her soul.

Trixy walked the streets in common clothes, doing her best to blend in with the NYC hustle and bustle. Carl, the current voice of authority, occasionally chirped in her earpiece, informing her on possible whereabouts of the rogue. Trixy pressed her back against the brick wall and peered around the corner, she definitely sensed another vampire nearby. She reached for her beloved gun, tucked away in the holster that was concealed by the back of her shirt. Trixy squinted her eyes to focus on the distant figure in the alleyway, which seemed to be in an intense struggle with another person. Béatrix brandished her gun and stepped through the shadows with the otherworldly grace that all vampires possessed. Unseen, unheard, Madame Vengeance would always hit her target…

… But, not this time. The sudden burn in her wrist threw her off, and the slightest hitch in her concentration betrayed her silent approach, causing her to kick a pebble. The other vampire, hearing the sound and finally sensing her presence, fled.

“Shit, I lost him.” She hissed under her breath, the earpiece picking up her words.

“What do you mean you lost him? You’ve never lost someone before.” Carl’s voice responded in her ear.

“I know, I’m sorry. I know what he looks like now, and I’ve got his scent. I’ll definitely find him again.” She said a little louder now, it’s not like she was going to scare anyone away again…

“Whatever you say, Agent Wolfsbane. You sure you’re alright, this isn’t like you, you’re our best shot.” Carl said in his best attempt at a compliment, he really was an awkward man for someone with such clout and authority in the department.

“Yeah, I don’t know, I’ll have to get back to you on that… I’m going to go see if the other guy is alright.” she replied before hitting the button on her earpiece to mute their communication, and lowering her gun. Just as she took a step forward to the other figure, the burning in her wrist intensified. Trixy looked down at her wrapped wrist, her eyes were glaring daggers at it. No, it can’t be… What day is it again? The bindings obscured the name and date inked on her skin, but the image of it was forever seared into her mind's eye. Like elephants, vampires can never truly forget - try as they might. Trixy took another step forward, and the burning got worse; A step backward, and the burning subsided. Béatrix looked up at the hulking figure before her, and now he was the recipient of her icy glare.

For the first time in centuries, Béatrix de la Croix turned on her heels, and ran. She ran fast and hard, revealing her vampire speed to this stranger, but she didn’t care. Maybe, with enough effort, she could outrun her own destiny.

Alekaiser kept pace though wondered if perhaps he should of shown signs of a struggle of such activities if he wanted to hide his other side but chose to ignore and kept the same pace as she did. He contemplated whether to make any attempt of holding hands or something else sappy he had witness other couples but told himself not to. Granted the names on their arms said they were soulmates but they had just met and he would hardly say the were a couple at all, perhaps friends or new close acquaintances.

"You just said you were a Ranger, right? So what difference does that make then just being in the army?" he asked while they walked to the park curious on the matter with having no real credible knowledge of any form of military. All the while his senses went on high alert, as if expecting an attack any moment and was staying on his toes. For the moment nothing seemed out of the ordinary but one couldn't be to careful and the wolf's primal instinct usual kicked in while outside.

---------------------------------------------------

Thole woke with a groan rolling over on his bed, heavy lidded eyes eying the clock, seeing the time. Last time I drink before a full moon, he thought to himself as he yawned and sat up popping his neck and making his way to clean himself, no doubt still covered in whatever mess from last night's full moon kill. He had also caught scent of another were, meaning he wasn't alone in this damn town. At least it seemed that it was another loner so he wasn't in pack territory. He preferred being off the radar especially due to his past. After all who's afraid of the big bad wolf? Everyone of course.

Once done cleaning he grabbed clothes, a pair of jeans, a maroon color shirt with some form of long faded logo, and a light trench-coat before heading out the door. His home resided on the outer edge of the town so getting anywhere took time but after about a half hour of walking he soon was just another face in a group of people. He wasn't a fan of being stuck in a crowd but having to adjust to normal life meant he had to make sacrifices and personal space had been one of them after industrialization hit the world. He was on constant alert though, ears listening for something out of place, nostrils flared taking in scents and smells of the city for any unwanted guest that might suddenly be next to him, and eyes all ways shifting looking for a target.

Eventually he found his way out of the group of people into a side alley, allowing him some brief moment of space. He gave a sigh to himself rubbing his temples with a thumb and forefinger, his head still slightly buzzed with a hangover of the drinking of the previous night. He was about to head out on his way once more, trying to either track down this other wolf, better to get acquainted with any local weres face to face rather then wolf to wolf or get some more supplies for his craft when his arm began to itch. It began as a slight annoyance like a mosquito bite but grew worst every second seemingly.

"Oh what the hell is going on now?" he grumbling looking when a scent caused him to swiftly turn around coming face to face with whoever was sneaking around the alley, ice cold eyes met his brown eyes. They stared at one another for a few seconds and then she turned and ran, revealing something that he had hoped his nose had been wrong on. He quickly uncovered his arm looking at the glowing writing that had been the cause of the itch and burning a few moments before.

"Oh you've got to be shitting me," he growled ",I've been paired with a damn french bloodsucker!" His mind raced on what he should do before instincts kicked in and the wolf took charge and he gave chase, following the scent as best he could and keeping up with her.

Trixy never ran as a human; That kind of thing wasn’t really appropriate, given what women wore at the time. Even with that being so, her false breathing came heavy, as if her long-dead lungs were struggling for oxygen in the sprint. Breathing was something vampires taught themselves to do, so they could blend in with the living. Generally, the breaths didn’t change the pace; the timing of it was something subconsciously measured. Maybe this was something more… fear? Anxiety? Well, it didn’t really matter, she didn’t have to face it now. She’d met him, however brief, and it was on the date written, so, prophecy fulfilled! No need for any of that mushy soul mate nonsense, right? And that’s when she heard them: the heavy footfalls gaining ground behind her.

Oh no, he was chasing her. He was fast enough to chase a vampire, hell, he fast enough to catch up with one! Trixy’s bright blue eyes widened and she sniffed in a deep inhale. Her nose scrunched up in disgust, how had she missed that stench? He was a werewolf, oh gods, what if he was English too? Béatrix went through her options in her head as she ran, and one thing was clear: she couldn’t keep running. Werewolves were faster than vampires, and he had her scent now. He'd catch her, or he'd find her. She could stop and try to weasel her way out of this using her beloved mind games, or she could just face fate, or… she could kill him.

Béatrix stopped dead in her tracks and spun on her heels. She once again wielded her glock 22, this time with a matching twin in her left hand. One’s good, two’s better, especially when dealing with wolves. Her steely blue eyes locked with his in a deadly blue glare. “Stop right there, dog, you are chasing a special agent of New York’s finest whose bullets are always laced with silver.” Her Old French accent was quite thick, despite the time she spent travelling and becoming fluent in multiple different languages. Vampires were seductive predators, and even though she was poised to kill, she was gorgeous in that femme fatale kind of way.

Staring directly at him now, there were some things she couldn't avoid. Like the urgent burning in her wrist, and the tattoo glowing bright through the bindings that covered it. And the way she felt her heart up in her ears, as if it still had a beat. Somehow this felt more intense than when she had first met Francis. Maybe that's because she was a human then? Vampires have stronger feelings, feelings that lasted forever. But that didn't mean she had to love this man. No, hate is a strong feeling too. Regardless, her hands weren't as steady as they usually were. To a very keen eye, it was obvious that the guns were tremoring in her fingers slightly.

Victoria Nikitina

Victoria merely listened as the stranger stood in the distance, still speaking into his cellphone she'd tenderly stroke the now slumbering pups head, the burning in her wrist still irritating her as she muttered lightly under her breath, 'Damnit, why can't it just go away already.' She'd huff a breath at this point glancing down as she fiddled with her watch once more.

The sound of a faint beep when the man hung-up his cell made her flicker bright eyes back in his direction, the crunch of the grass meeting his shoes ringing lightly with each step he took as he spoke towards her, "Hello ma'am. My name is Dyami. I'm a doctor and just got called to come in and perform a surgery. If your wrist is reacting like mine is, would you mind coming to the hospital and talking to me after the surgery?"

A slender arm of hers extended towards him as he offered her a card, the burning of the ink embedded within her flesh intensifying to an unbearable feeling before suddenly ceasing when one of her fingers grazed over his in the transition of the small paper object from one hand to another. Her expression shocked to begin with suddenly drifted to curiosity as the man quickly headed towards his place of work without any further conversation. Watching closely as he vanished within the crowds span she'd blink hastily as if exiting a day dream, she'd look down at her wrist, the name and date still visibly apparent as she cupped Kubik in one arm and quickly rose to both feet.

Dusting herself off with her spare hand she'd shake her head and flicker sights in the direction the man named 'Dyami' had vanished. The card now located in the same pocket as her mobile as she headed for her truck once more only to find herself sitting in the cab with Kubik still slumbering peacefully. Grasping the card from her pocket she'd look at the address printed upon it and without a second thought, began heading that way.

After a good few minutes of driving in circles lost as all hell, Victoria would find herself searching for a car park in the over-packed parking lot of the hospital the card she'd received led her to. And as she managed to squeeze into a small lot she'd look down at the tranquil pup, she'd unbuckle only to lean on an angle against the chair and part of the pick-ups door waiting for the sign of movement from the entrance of the hospital that resembled the man from earlier. She knew for a fact hospitals were against pets coming inside and so she'd wait outside for as long as was necessary.

Solenne smiled at the autonomous response that Mia had to them holding hands. He looked around the cafe as his soul mates pulse quickened and cheeks flushed with a slight pink. There were couples forming in the booths of the cafe, some more intimate than others. Solenne’s eyes were drawn quickly back to Mia as she guessed Jazz. He ran his fingers through the mess of brown hair “that didn’t sound like a confident answer” he winked at her before shaking his head “first would be metal” he grinned a little “who do you think gave Alice Cooper the idea for horror?” Solenne smirked at her, the grin pulling the corners of his lips up “but also jazz, rock, classical” he suddenly broke his speech to point at her with a smile “do not say anything about that” he continued back to listing his musical repertoire “punk...I once did glam metal...that was fun.”

"But, as for my parents, I think they would love to meet someone like you. Dapper, mature, wise. And a musician at that too. Impressive.” She smiled at him and Solenne suddenly felt...right. It was an odd feeling. Something that Solenne had not felt for a long long time. "Solenne, they would adore who you are."

Solenne smiled “That's very good to know” the vampire looked at Mia, the sudden need to be closer to her rising in his mind. Solenne bit his tongue gently abating the need by pressing pain into his mind “Mia...what time do you finish?” he asked before smiling at Daliah who walked over quickly, jumping up and down on her toes “Oh! I must’ve kept you for far too long Mia!”

Daliah shook her head “no no no! It’s just the guitarist we had coming in is sick” she looked at Mia “no one knows anyone close that can come in out the back” Daliah looked at Mia “Do you?” she turned to the Vampire “or you?” she pointed at him.

Solenne looked at Mia and grinned, shrugging gently “you go back to work and I’ll go pick up my guitar hmm?” he laughed.

Tholo stopped when his target spun around on him pointing two glocks right at him, once again eyes locked on to each other. He gave a growl at the mention of silver but remained where he stood watching and waiting, a slight smirk growing on his face as he looked at her and noticed her hands were slightly trembling."Plenty have tried to kill me and they didn't have trembling hands so you better be the best damn marksman in the world if you are going to shoot me," he said arms crossing over his chest as he tried to tune out the annoying itch and blue glow on his arm. He was unsure how to feel really about this predicament. He had all ready lost two soulmates so jumping on the matter with excitement was out of the question let alone the fact she was a bloodsucker and had a glaringly obvious French name written on his arm, he was leaning towards hating her more then anything else. Perhaps he could kill her. Granted the last two centuries he had been trying to keep a clean record but one more kill wouldn't hurt. Either that or maybe try to tear off the blue marking on his arm. The only credit he could give to the lady right now was that she was pretty good looking though any fun with that was lost with the fact she was a vampire.

"So this isn't some sick joke after all," he spoke aloud as he finally looked at his arm ",Or a dream. Only thing I can think of is it's punishment." He still remained where he was. He could probably take a bullet but more then two was pushing it. He struggle internally with what to feel, some small part of him felt fear which was normal with meeting your soulmate, agitation that it had happened again for a third time, anger for who it paired him with, and deep down that even he didn't know he felt it was the smallest emotion of hope.
