Now that you are officially a squadron, you each will need to be assigned a Job (based on what background they have in our organization of course.)but if you really haven't thought of that yet,or if you have, here is a list of possible Professions:

Miner: you mine rocks and minerals to be tested on or be identified by a Geologist.
Botanist: you study/test the plants around you to acquire information on the planet you are on for HQ.
Mechanic: you are tasked with repairing broken machines and vehicles.
Forager: you gather plants to eat or for a Botanist.
Geologist: you study Rocks and Minerals Given to you to acquire info for HQ.
Medic: you are there to supply medicinal assistance to those who are injured.
Zoologist: you conduct research on the Fauna on your Planet.
Hunter: you gather meat that is edible for your squadron.
Farmer: you grow crops to eat or for any other purpose they serve.
Invetor: you create new Items out of existing materials or, things you have discovered.

Ok so I guess we are heading to Ulysses-52: a Planet which is surrounded in dense jungles.

You embark for the planet Ulysses-52. you are supplied with two months rations,ammo,two weeks of fresh clothes,armor(Tempered steel breastplates and helmets.) Long-distance communicators,a Toolbox, coal(heating and fuel),hunting rifles(bolt-action),a repair guide, oil(for lubrication of moving parts of machines),gas masks,machetes, water purification kit, first aid kit, a medicine chest, shovels, mattocks,chisels,hammers, various fasteners (nails,nuts and bolts,adhesive,rivets and riveting tools, a blowtorch (for welding) just to name some) Machine guns( if you get caught in more serious business.)tinderbox,a sewing kit to repair your clothes, pickaxes, climbing equipment, and 10 lbs. of explosives.

your ship also works as sort of a self-sufficient home, It collects moisture/precipitation from the atmosphere, purifies it and the water that is sent down the drain is sent into a garden area that you can use to create more food, or use as an area to study plants you find. it also can use solar power to power the steam engine (can use coal as well.)

The first order from HQ is to set up a camp. and get used the surroundings. Godspeed cadets.

Javier Contreras and other soldiers received orders from HQ, to set up camp on the surface of Ulysses-52 and so that researchers could perform tests on the local flora and fauna. Alongside them was medical officer Nathan Wells.

Down on the surface of the planet, scientists were able to figure if there was any hostile fauna. There wasn't. At least, no natural enemies. They made camp, while the soldiers were providing security. They set up a comms station so they could receive info from HQ. Javier Contreras was scouting the area, when suddenly, a steep drop caught him by surprise and he fell 10 feet injuring his legs severely, but not critically, along with other minor injuries.Nathan Wells was able to treat Javier's injuries.

"Well, the good news is that it's not broken. The bad news is it's almost broken. You see, when you hit the floor, the bone compressed. Like when two tectonic plates push against each other, they form a mountain or hill. Same thing happening here." said Nathan with a sad expression on his face.

"How long will it take to heal?" asked Contreras, anxiously.
"With some surgery and rest, about a week.Just be glad this isn't the Dark Ages!"

Both of them laughing, but Javier suddenly grabbing his leg in response to agonizing pain, then said" Please stop!" with a faint smile.

The bone compression probably wasn't serious but there was no need to take risks, after taking a moment to apply a field splint Nathan radioed the ship.

"This is Wells of the Landing Party, we have a soldier who took a nasty tumble and hurt his leg. It's not properly broken but the surgery bay will need to be prepared accordingly."

*radio static*

"Expedition Actual this is Landing Party, we have injured, please respond."

"We-*ksshhhh* -attempting to- *crackle*"

Nathan sighed to himself, the expedition hadn't gone a single day but already there was a surgery on the docket and equipment failure.

"You probably shouldn't walk but see if you can find yourself a tree branch or what not to use as a walking stick. I'm going back to the comms station to get some help and have my radio checked out."

You head back to the communication device on your ship. you turn on the machine hologram of the the technician you contacted appears.
the technician says to you Hello cadet,what do you need assistance with?" You mention your injured comrade needing assistance, and that there appears to be a problem with the long distance communicator issued to you. She replies, "very strange indeed, must be some sort of manufacturing error. and we will get assistance as soon as we can for Javier and possibly another explorer, { that is unless Privondink I think it is gets here.}
Just be careful until then.

You figure the least you can do is set up some wooden fortifications, Hoping in the back of your head Javier is going to be fine .

Unable to properly help Javier until said assistance arrived Nathan began to clear the area of fauna with a machete and shovel. Progress was slow but the expedition had came prepared for less than ideal environments and soon the lush jungle had been cut away and re-purposed for shelter; Nathan had practiced medicine in worse conditions than this. Resting for a moment on the new earth and wood defenses he checked his radio again.

"Javier, can you hear me?"

The radio crackled, but this time it worked. The audio was slightly distorted, But Nathan did hear Javier.
Javier said,"Nathan, Nathan! finally!" Javier said with joy, that Nathan had at least got his communicator to somehow work.
"I think I see a safer way down. I see some vines you can climb, or If you prefer a safer way down there is a sort of natural decline west of us,
or you can use the ropes in our miscellaneous box of fasteners and other things. We have about 150 feet of It."
You begin to think about your course of action, as every moment counted. He would not want to lose his only partner out here to some unknown predator.

It was quite the quandary that Nathan found himself in, leaving Javier would be a potentially fatal risk, and waiting with Javier for help to arrive could see them both stranded or killed. Fortunately there was a third option but it hinged on Javier.

"Good to hear you are still alright, listen, I've called in some help but it's going to take awhile. The way I see it the expedition has two options; firstly, we could wait for help to arrive and I lead them to you. Or secondly since you already need a surgery we could risk further damage to your leg and bring you back to the relative safety of the camp. Both options involve risk and since it's your life on the line I figure you should get to choose."

A loud pop could be heard from the sky as David's shuttle broke through the atmosphere. The whir of the engines was the only thing he could hear besides some small talk and obvious looks of malcontent towards his direction. The pilots and other personal saw this as a gross miscalculation of military resources, but command needed him on the planet to assess something new, previously not shown on scans. This was going to be Davids first time on a planet and subsequently his first mission as well. He hoped he wouldn't screw up but before he could think any worse of himself the shuttle landed. As the bay doors opened he was met with thick sticky air, something new at least he thought. He got off the ship to begin his mission.

Thinking for a moment, Javier suggested, " If I'm going to receive surgery, I might as well risk further injury as surgery could fix it."

Javier decided to risk further injury.

"Alright, I'm on my way."

Nathan had saved a large branch that could be used as a walking stick for Javier but just as he began to set out he suddenly got a prickly sensation on the back of his neck. Not sure what was wrong he also grabbed a hunting rifle before continuing back to Javier.

The loud pop of a new ship entering the atmosphere sounded just as Nathan reached the ledge Javier had fallen on. Still feeling suspicious of his surroundings Nathan walked out to the edge and attempted radio contact.

"This is Nathan Wells of the Ulysses-52 Expedition, who else is out there?"

David heard something, like a crackling in his ear and he wondered what it was. Then a voice said, "This is Nathan Wells of the Ulysses-52 Expedition, who else is out there?" much to Davids surprise. He then remembered he was given a comms device before he left his ship for better communication over long distances.

"This is David Daksha and I hear you loud and well Nathan. What seems to be the problem, over."

While Nathan was relieved that both his radio had worked and this new ship was in fact help that meant whatever was wrong with his radio was intermittent, which had a bad habit of turning up at bad times.

"We have an injured Expedition member in need of surgery and I'm in the process of bringing him back to our base camp. Do you know if you are nearby? Any land marks?"

Nathan had walked around to the gentle incline and was helping Javier to his feet with the walking stick as he radioed. Between the splint and walking stick and some help Javier could probably be transported back to camp safely, if they went slow.

"We have an injured Expedition member in need of surgery and I'm in the process of bringing him back to our base camp. Do you know if you are nearby? Any land marks?"

David looked around and saw only the camp at which he was dropped off at and the shuttle taking off back to the stars. "Err...Yeah I just got here, at the mission camp or whatever it is. Umm..how many clicks are you guys out?"

"I don't know, maybe three? I'm not a woodsman. If you are at the camp already then head directly between the set of brambles to the north, behind that is a freshly cut trail through the foliage, we will meet you on it."

Half carrying Javier, Nathan set off towards the gentle incline, hunting rifle in his good hand.
