Humphreys&Henderson Industries was founded in 1974, by Colonel Nigel Humphreys and Curtis Henderson, an American billionaire who provided the cash for the undertaking, to provide sound military advice, instruction, intelligence analysis, and for ready money mercenaries to legitimate governments and rebel movements which it viewed righteous. It has grown into a succesful, if rather anti-communist, undertaking, having been involved with the "Katanga Gendarmerie" since 1977. It has, in close collaboration with PIDE, also provided 80 mercenaries, known as Zulu Company, to fight with the Katanga Gendarmerie in the incoming Shaba Invasion.

He further served in Kenya, 1954 and was posted around many British colonies in cold zones. In 1970, at the age of 42, Colonel Humphreys was honourably discharged. He subsequently became a trader on the London Exchange, something which made him a load of money but bored him to death while he was at it. After his honourable discharge he could keep his uniforms and gear, and over time acquired another FN FAL and a BHP. However, working, drinking and fucking himself into an early grave wasn't for him. He wanted to pad his obituary. And in a Dublin pub he met a recruiter who got him to Benguela.

Character history: Son of Ukrainian immigrants who fled their war-torn country, Nick was always told by his parents that he was blessed to live in such a peaceful country as Canada, and that he should be glad that he could attain such a good education. Of course, one thing leads to the other, and he became a surgeon employed throughout Canada until he got bored of it after eighteen years. In 1976, he went to work in Portuguese Angola, and assist in providing healthcare to the poor African population of the country. He did this for two years before being contacted by Humphreys, who was preparing for a little bit of fun in Zaire. Nick was all too glad to join for handsome pay for operating on soldiers of fortune or civilians caught in the crossfire.
Appearance: A tall man, at 1.93 metres tall, he has a rugged Slavic face with silver grey hair flowing down to his neck and a five o'clock shadow. The two later settled in South Africa, where they married and started a family. Paul is the second son and third child, and taking after his father he served in the South African Air Force from 1968 until 1978, when he was honourably discharged. Looking for life in the civilian world, he stumbled across a job flying cargo around Renegade Africa. (Based in Angola he flew around South Africa, South West Africa, Rhodesia, and Mozambique.)
