Hello there and let me begin with thanking you on checking this thread. But let's not waste your time too much now.
I've been roleplaying for about 2 years now, but had a hiatus for a while. Now that I have returned to the Guild (and have already started GMing again) I also want to try and reboot these two ideas I had which never took off on the old Guild. (one did, but I just wish to redo it)
I do not know what to put around here anymore, so if you wish to know anything more about me, just ask. I don't bite after all.
Now, to the ideas!
Rules
I'm not a huge control freak, but there are some things that I do want to see (or don't see).
- I like having something to respond to, so no one line responses if the situation doesn't permit it.
- Don't bail on me without telling. I'll literally hunt you down and tickle you in your sleep. I can understand if real life stuff get's in the way, but please tell me you'll be occupied for a while.
- I don't really care if you're a male or a female, but having fun is a requirement.
- Do come up with stuff on your own. I've set a template for these worlds, but I'm still just one person. If you have an idea or want to create a character we speak to for some reason, don't be shy to do so.
- That's it. Like I said. I'm not picky
So if you're still with me here, just send me a PM if you're interested in either two or if you just want to talk because I seem like such a swell guy.
ADIOS!

It's the year 2842. Humankind has set out for the stars, and actually conquered most of it, thus creating the Human Empire. This quick rise was mainly possible through the new technology named Enites. These nanoscopic particles can create anything as long as there is data available of the requested item.* Now the Empire is at peace with the other alien species, and their technology spread throughout the galaxy. Trade is flourishing and planets prosper. But the galaxy is not without danger or problems. Luckily many self proclaimed mercenaries are always for hire to solve these problems... For the right amount of cash that is. But sometimes, these mercenaries get into problems, way above their heads.
In this RP we'd take the role of two mercenaries, long time partners. We do some jobs here and there and... well... I wouldn't want to spoil too much.
* I have a nice picture which explains Enites. If you wish to see it, let me know.

This one is a bit harder to explain in a few sentences. I have made three 'documents' which explain kinda the idea, but they take a bit of reading. I really don't know how to make it shorter then it is... So apologies for all the reading.
If you're still here after all that, congratulations! You are awesome.
In this RP we'll be part of the Inquisition, a neutral power, founded in the 87th Cycle. This organization holds itself busy by hunting down Defilers of the Tha'Dar. They are kinda unwanted by the kings of Dharatol, because they usually take judgement into their own hands. I have a basic idea for story, but a lot will just be made on the fly.
''A long time ago, in an era we now call 'The Time Of Twilight', the world of Dharatol was a barren wasteland. The People who lived there, had no means of survival. Whoever, or whatever created this world and the People had abandoned them, or never cared in the first place. There were however, other higher powers watching. Aura and her brother Macus, both Higher Aspects of Life felt sorry for the weak ones. So they gifted the power of Tha'Dar with the People of Dharatol, the power to shape the world to their desire by controlling the elements of nature itself.
Thus Dharatol became a fertile and beautiful world. But it was short lived... The People began to settle their conflicts with the power of Tha'Dar, using the nature against their foes. Icy mountains, huge deserts, overgrowing swamps and charred lands covered the first so lush and green plains of Dharatol. Aura and Macus looked down upon their People, and saw what they did with the powers they were given. They felt no anger, only shame. The full power of the Tha'Dar was too much to handle for the People. So they split the full power of Tha'Dar into many. The People were confused and scared for their now diminished power. They retreated to lands that suited them best and stayed there to grow and live on. There was peace... for now.
Many years passed, giving the weakened People the time to master their separated Tha'Dar. And with their self-confidence returning, so too came back the urges to fight in the hearts of the People. The fires of war were rekindled. This time however, it was not a mindless war. Not for lands or resources. Because of the Tha'Dar being so intertwined with our bodies, it had taken hold of our personalities, and how we perceived other people. The People of one tribe would now hate a specific other tribe, just because of the Tha'Dar they possessed. Just as fire and water couldn't co-exist in nature, so too couldn't the People.
Again, Aura and Macus looked down to their land after being awakened by the sounds of war once more They still did not blame the People, for their reasons of anger was their fault. They themselves were to blame. So they build magical walls and temples across the lands. The walls would separate the People from each other, while the temples would offer the People guidance. Aura and Macus were pleased with their work, and fell back into a slumber.
Decades passed without People ever passing one of the walls. They gave up after so many attempts. Instead they focused on research and science. The People developed new technologies, cities began to grow. It was an age of advancement and prosperity. But these advancements led to dire breakthroughs. The creation of the Tha'Dar was no longer untouchable for the People. They started creating powers themselves. But these People were quickly cast out of their tribes or cities, for the people who underwent these experiments became vile and twisted. Damaged minds and bodies were all that came from these sciences.
Yet, these new powers of Tha'Dar managed to bring down the magical barriers of the walls and temples, making them nothing but a bunch of stones. The People took advantage of this, and the walls were torn down in an instant, allowing the People to wage war once more. This day, only one of the walls that once were remains standing.
After years of advancement and enlightening, the world of Dharatol was thrown into turmoil of war once more. The wars started small, so the Brother & Sister didn't notice at first, but as the years passed, the wars started growing, and eventually caught the attention of the Aura and Macus. They sighed in disappointment and hurricanes swept across the land. They cried out of sadness and floods washed away the armies of the People. They pondered and thought of a final solution for days and days, while the remaining armies waited, for they knew something greater was deciding their faith. Aura and Macus finally understood that the People were unguided projectiles who, without guidance would always fall towards war. So they came up with an idea to guide these projectiles instead. They created two new forms of the Tha'Dar, by tapping into their own powers, directly taken from their hearts. Macus created the Darkness, while Aura created the Light. They granted these powers to two newborn children. These two would balance the powers of Dharatol for once and for all, and there would be peace. However, by taking the powers from themselves and directly from their hearts, they had exposed themselves. To this day, we still do not know who or what caused it, but Aura and Macus were dying.
The years passed and the two babies grew up into fine young men without knowledge of their powers. But on their 20th birthday, Aura and Macus appeared before them, and explained who they were and what their purpose was. Aura, who appeared before Eliah, the boy with the powers of Light, explained that the boy had to make peace between all the different cites and tribes.
Macus did the same to the boy Yigris, but something went wrong. While Darkness is needed to keep the balance, it is still a very dangerous element. When Macus tapped into his own heart, he uncovered something: the other part of Darkness. The corrupted part. Macus was no longer the loving brother, but apparently managed to keep his secret hidden to his sister. So not only was Macus now making use of his full power of Darkness, it is also what he gave to the child Yigris. When Macus finally appeared before him, he explained that the world was out of balance, and that the only way to restore it, was by eradicating his counterpart, Eliah. Aura and Macus gave the two boys their sigil that all the People would recognize. With their last breaths, they trained the boys in their new power and signed a contract with Time, also known as Aetas. Once one of the boys would die, another would be born with the special powers of the Brother and Sister. And then they passed away... Aura and Macus gave their lives for the land of Dharatol. How they would've wept if they knew their legacy.
While Eliah travelled the lands, from capital to capital, explaining the kings of all the tribes that the fighting had to be stopped, Yigris travelled from capital to capital to amass an army against Eliah. Though his actions did not go unnoticed by the young Eliah, and he started raising an army of his own, to stop the plans of Yigris. Eventually the two armies met on the now called Empty Plains. This was a war as never seen before, for the stakes were higher then just land or riches. This time, it was not just the Peoples instincts that led them. It was an idea, a leader. But in the end... a war stays a war, no matter the idea behind it. For weeks they battled, with no end in sight. And after two years of continuous battle, only two people remained on the battlefield. Yigris and Eliah. The two boys continued to battle, for even without their armies, they still had their ideas of a perfect world. A world without the other. Days became weeks, weeks became months and months became years. The two continued to battle fiercely, while the world around them watched and grew.
For 70 years they battled without result. Their powers were even, and no victor would ever emerge. They laid down their arms, for they were tired of battle and wanted to rest. They agreed to both retreat to a land, create a city in the names of Aura and Macus and await their deaths. And thus retreated Eliah back to the Eastern Kingdoms which he united and named Aurelia after Sister Aura who granted him his power. With the help of other leaders who stood with him in the war, he created a white city. A safe haven for all, which he named Andurin. This would be the Seat of Light and his gift to the world. Here, he also managed to create a crown which would bear the sigil given to him by Aura.
Yigris, on the other hand, retreated to the Western borders and entered the Charred Lands. Corruption had spread here throughout the years. And while the People usually avoided these lands, Yigris felt most comfortable with them. With the help of his remaining allies, he surrounded himself with mountains and an enchanted wall. He created his own cities and citadels in these lands. His capital would bear the name 'Yigran' the Seat of Darkness, named after his father. Here, he created a glove out of a unknown black metal, bearing the sigil of Macus, giving by him when they first met.
And thus this cycle came to an end and the two died without knowing that the cycle would restart. Although they thought they had failed in bringing peace to the lands, the other kings had been struck by the devotion of the two. So much even, that they refused to wage war again. Of course, this was a promise their descendants could not keep. Luckily, they had a Light and Darkness to watch over them.''

-'The Time Before Cycles' as written by Pyiantis Dartus (written in the 52th Cycle)
‘’A new Cycle began as the Light and Dark faded away. Riha, Bearer of Light and Tirius, Bearer of Darkness passed away to make place for their predecessors Iquela and Glamia. It has been 28 Cycles since both Bearers were both female. Last time it ended in a truce where nothing happened an entire cycle. Unfortunately, this wasn’t what happened this time.
Defilers of Velos managed to create a new string of Tha'Dar, which gave themselves the power over Time. They started misusing this power, and although they were with only five, they still managed to defeat the greatest armies. Light and Darkness first tried contacting Aetas to see if he could help, but the disturbances cause by the Defilers had weakened him and he could be of no help to the Heralds. So instead having a Cycle of fighting or truces, the two teamed up against this threat to creation itself. While Iquela didn’t want to hurt her subjects, Glamia raised massive armies to defeat the five Defilers. This led to fiery arguments which even led to the attack on Andurin, the Seat of Light and it’s capture by the armies of Glamia. This was the first time in 99 Cycles that both Seats fell under one of the two Heralds.
In the meantime, the Defilers continued to rampage the lands around them, disrupting time and life in their quake. Iquela, Bearer of Light now had no Seat, and was kicked from her country. Instead of trying to take back her Seat, she went after the Defilers, for they were the bigger threat to Dharatol for now. Without her Seat, Iquela’s powers were weakened, and when she finally found the five, she was beaten in a blink of the eye. Literally!
Meanwhile in Andurin, the Seat of Light, Glamia ruled with an iron fist. She even tried to corrupt the Seat itself! Fortunately, the powers of Aura was strong enough to repel this corruption. But not only that... An image of the long deceased Aura appeared before Glamia and teleported her to the defeated Iquela. Glamia could not help to feel sorry for the Herald of Light, and she helped her counterpart recover. The two were now out in the wild without really knowing where they were, so all they could do was continue with their very first plan: Destroy the Defilers and make Dharatol safe once more.
A hunt of many weeks... or months... or years... followed. Nobody really knows, since during the encounters, there was a lot of messing with time. But with the combined forces of Light and Darkness, the two slowly managed to defeat the Defilers one by one. It hadn’t been an easy task, and it had drained much of the Tha'Dar inside of them. And by the time they finished their job, they were already gray and old. Their Cycle was coming to an end. Glamia returned the Seat of Light to Iquela and she returned to Yigrim, the Seat of Darkness. Just two weeks ago, the Bearers of Light and Darkness felt their Strings split. This meant their predecessors were born and that a new Cycle would soon begin.’’

''Many of the People have asked themselves: ‘’Who or what is Time?’’. Light and Darkness answered the question in their 24th cycle, for they struck a deal with him. Together, they went on a journey throughout Dharatol to reactivate the temples that were placed in ‘The Time of Twilight’ and thus establishing contact between the People and the Aspects.
The reason for this deal was the following. For 23th constructive cycles Light and Darkness died and were reborn without any knowledge of their powers. They had to learn their powers from scratch, and the only information they had was found in books and scrolls left by their previous forms. Highly inconvenient and time consuming one would imagine.
So Prebus the Herald of Light and Amalia the Herald of Darkness made a truce and tried to eliminate this problem. Coming in contact with Aetas was harder than expected. Getting the temples up was one thing, but they also needed to create a bridge between two, far apart, worlds which hadn’t touched for hundreds of years. Combining the powers of Light and Darkness they managed to create a portal. It allowed the two to get to the plane of Aspects. Once Prebus and Amalia arrived, they were confronted by several different Aspects for they were accused of murder of Aura and Macus, but were quickly saved by Time itself.
According to my ‘source’, Aetas did indeed look like one of the People, and so did many of the other Aspects. But I did get the explanation that they just looked like that for convenience sake. Prebus, Amalia stated their wishes to Aetas: To let the newborns be born 10 years before their deaths, so they had time to train the new Light and Dark themselves. Aetas accepted... for a price. The price is unknown to this day, for both Light and Dark had to promise not to speak of it. Time can wait. Who knows how many more years it would take before we pay the price. Or maybe the price was in the past. But that is none of our concern.
So Prebus and Amalia managed to get the deal done with Aetas, and they were send back to the realm of the People. So because of a deal with Time, is it now so that 10 years before either Light and Darkness die, the new ones will be born. This caused some major problems the first time, because the powers of Aura and Macus had to be shared two separate people, which caused weakness and nausea to all four wearers... But they adapted to it, and we live by these rules up to the present days.''
