Eriset shifted against her seat, attempting to get in a position where the low back wasn’t going to poke into the tender muscle under her left shoulder. It had been a pipe. Or a pole. Maybe some railing. It didn’t matter what it was, but it did remind her that she really needed a new pair of gloves, since hers slipped so much…
Realising, after more struggling that her effort what in vain, she finally just slumped over her own arms on her desk.
This lecture hall is ridiculous. Of course the humanities gets left with the worst one after the sciences…’ She griped, pushing her glasses up and looking out at the rest of the hall through her hair.

She’d made the mistake of getting there a bit too early. While she might have been lazy enough to show up wearing what was clearly pajama pants and flip flops, she did not want to be walking into a lecture late wearing such things.
However, it had been to her surprise to find that she wasn’t the only one here. Even though the lecture still had another 15 minutes to go before it started, the room was slowly starting to fill up in the manner it normally would if it were 10 minutes later.

“I heard Ms. Browne was teaching this class...”

Eriset snorted quietly. Of course - the brunette hadn’t even given a thought to that when she’d been studying her new timetable the day before. Ms. Browne was a heroine and legend to the students – her classes were always notoriously easy, and she herself was really something to look at. Rumor around campus was that she’d gotten divorced recently, and was looking for a young, hot boy to teach her how to be loved again. The last part was more than likely just a hopeful fallacy from the likes of the boys now sitting in front of her. Sure, she may be divorced, but there’s no guarantee that she’s asking for anything. But Eriset supposed that it wasn’t such a sin to hope – she’d probably have trouble saying no too, if it were her that was being propositioned by the leggy redhead.

Besides – if most of the students were like the two boys eagerly talking away, then it was only going to help her avoid standing out.
But then… maybe it could be a problem.’ Eriset thought sourly. It was hard trying to book a meeting with Ms. Browne – seeing as she was so popular and sought after in terms of one-on-one feedback. How the hell was she going to get the chance to use her power on the woman?
She could just do the work herself, she supposed. Although she wouldn’t be able to guarantee herself a high mark as usually, maybe she’d be able to pull through with something…

Usually, when the tutors and lecturers were grey-haired and far less desirable, it was very easy to get enough alone time with them. She could just walk in a week before the assignment is due, get them to basically hand the essay to her, then leave and make it like she’d never been there. Simple, effective, and it would mean that Eriset would only have to spend two hours rewriting instead of 12 trying to get through it on her own.

Now that it was only minutes away until the start of class, Eriset felt her hopes being dashed further – almost the entire lecture hall had been filled up. Only a few seats were available, with all but 20 of the 150 students being male.
Eriset could see that some had dressed for the occasion. A few boys had donned their smart-casual suits, and others in their tightest fitting shirts. Some had even decided to forgot sleeves all together, hoping that the loose muscles singlets would show off their mediocre attempts to build muscles.

It was ridiculous – she felt ashamed of them, and she was in her goddamn pajamas for fucks sake. She didn’t have to be here – she could find notes later or watch a recording. It was so, so loud – she could be sleeping of the aches and pains right now, instead of sitting here watching 130 boys staring at some poor woman’s jugs for an hour and a half.
Sitting up, Eriset began to gather her books, shoving them into her backpack before standing up. She had only just been slinging it over her shoulder when the door at the side of the stage began to slowly open.

A few minutes earlier a phone was ringing inside a car parked in the campus. Actually the poor excuse of a phone had been ringing for quite a while now. With a groan he stretched as much as his old Audi would allow him, then reached for the phone. After a short glance on the green and black screen he pressed the green silicone button as he lead the phone to his ear. "Long nights and morning calls don't mix, mate..." The person on the other side just ignored him and asked in a monotone voice whether he was ready for the lecture. God damn it... he thought as he took another look at the phone's screen. Heaving a sigh he answered to the voice on the line that everything's OK. Well it was actually the reason why he had parked here and went to sleep in the car. Well, see ya later, I suppose... he left as a goodbye cutting the connection.

While opening the door of his car he gave a double check to his attire. A high-casual gray suit, somewhat crumpled because he was sleeping in it, white shirt, black tie and black leather shoes. Acceptably bland clothes for a bland assignment. He passed a hand through his hair, he had forgot to wash it when he came back from his night shift. With a deft move he pulled his shoulder long hair into a pony tail leaving just a lock of hair to dangle over his left cheek. He glanced once into the side view mirror of his car, the old face looking back stopped surprising him a long time ago. His once raven black hair was now streaked with gray, once gentle features hardened by work, a 2 day beard framed his goatee. For a 29 year old man he looked at least some 5 years older, thou it suited him just fine. Grabbing the briefcase he had prepared for the lecture he made his way towards the Social Studies lecture hall. From his coat he pulled out an old pocket watch that matched his appearance. He had about 3 minutes left....

As previously established the Dean of the Psychology Department would enter the hall first and make the announcement. A dignified old man he was, but a "tad" too Englishman for his taste, too sever. But imposing respect just by his presence. They had met a few days ago to finalize his transfer. Arriving before the door of the hall he listened to the reactions inside.

"...leave of absence" A groan could be heard from the students. "Quiet!" The Dean barked "We have brought in someone to take her place, from my point of view he..." another faint groan was silenced quickly by the Dean's glare. "...still quite young to occupy this position, but his achievements speak for themselves. Please stand up and welcome the new teacher for this lecture."

At that he opened the door and strode in, a total opposite to the Dean, unrefined and with a youthful smile on his face. "Thanks mate, you did me a great honor presenting me like that..." The Dean's already taught face darkened at the insulting camaraderie this wannabe teacher presented. Without saying anything else thou, he turned sharply towards the exit and left with "Good day, sir" making the last word sound as derogatory as possible. Watching the Dean leave, he heaved a sigh of relief. Well, that's that, turning his back to the students he grabbed a piece o chalk and started writing his name on the huge board. Name's Karl, Karl Adalwulf. Nice to meet y'all.

Looking at the seated students with his eternal smirk of a smile he was amazed to see the number of male students in a boring course as Social Studies, but then he remembered seeing the former teacher, a milf looking redhead. Everyone seemed to be at their best, even some of the scarce female students. There were also some extreme cases, like a guy that seemed to be a peacock and a young woman dressed in pajamas. Was she planing to have the teacher give the course in bed? If this is how you guys usually plan to come to class, we will have a great time. Now, I sincerely don't know what the redhead was teaching you, and don't really care. But please try to be a little more casual, especially you mate. he said pointing at the overdressed peacock. and you miss...no offence but you are too casual, any more and you'd be wearing a leaf...

Now, what do you think you will study in my class?

The Dean never seemed to bring good news, though Eriset had to admit this may not have necessarily bad.
Naturally, it would seem that Ms. Brownes reputation couldn’t have been that well hidden from the rest of staff – even Eriset had managed to hear word, and she didn’t speak to many people at all outside of class.

Eriset's eyebrows raised further when she heard the words “he” and “young”. She imagined that after today, there would be quite a few of the male students dropping this class.
The door opened for a second time not long after – another man strode in, no doubt their new teacher.
She supposed he might have been alright looking, in that kind of silver-fox way. He didn't quite look as young at the Dean had made him out to be, but apparently that was just the fact he had aged before his time - a childish grin seemed to give a truer representation of his actual age, being something of a man still edging on his thirties, as opposed to well into them. It was something of a surprising change, Eriset had thought. The usual line-up of lecturers (excluding the ever-popular Ms. Browne) was comprised of older men, either too arrogant, short-tempered or despondent to really be worthwhile listening to.
Despite her some-what optimistic view on the new lecturer, she did notice something - namely the small, tight creases on the back of his grey suit - had he been sleeping before this?

What, did he sleep in his car or something?’ she snorted silently, leaning back in her seat. It didn’t quite go over as well as she thought, wincing as the chair dug right into the tender spot. There was a short exchange between the Dean and newcomer up on stage.

“This is bullshit…” one of the boys commented in the meantime, letting go of any attempt to be enthusiastic about the course or lecture. She could see someone else loosening their tie, deciding that it was hardly worth the effort now.
Curious, Eriset's eyes flowed up through the rows, looking at how the students were reacting to the sudden change. The boys, obviously, were either less than pleased, or cared as much as they did when the class started – which was not at all. The girls, however – while the occasional one looked disappointed, there were a few talking amongst themselves excitedly, and the others had taken to their phones to text what she assumed to be the good news.

Maybe I should be glad’ Eriset thought, slumping forward once again, pushing a wave of fluffy hair back out of her face. ‘It’s probably going to be easier getting alone time with him than Ms. Browne.
In the usual introductory manner, their new lecturer wrote his name on the blackboard behind him.
Karl Adalwulf, hm?’ The girl mused, pushing her thick-rimmed glasses up her nose. He was smirking viciously, knowing full well that he had upset a decent portion of the males in this class – she herself chuckled when he called out a particular boy, but that smile soon fell when his quip brought light to her own wardrobe.
Her ears flushed, glowing red. She sat up straight, folding her arms. She knew that she shouldn't – her goal was to blend in after all.
Still wearing most than some, sir, though if the fig leaf is preferred…” Eriset responded airily, leaning forward with a falsely pleasant smile, thick with impudence. Not that she really cared all that much – after paying so much in tuition, she figured she may as well wear what she liked. Not that it was her money that she paid with. Or that she was doing a particularly useful degree.
College was only a cover for her anyway – pass or fail, it didn't matter that much. The opinion of one smart-ass lecturer wasn't her biggest concern.
She heard the giggling of girls beside her, followed by a few chuckles. Eriset tried to keep up the smile, but she did already regret drawing attention to herself. It was hardly going to help her later.

Thankfully, a boy interjected – the same one, it seemed, that had been called out for his aggressive peacocking.

“You’re the lecturer, shouldn’t you know what you’re going to teach us?” He called out. His friends around him caused a fuss – no doubt to compensate for their own indirectly hurt egos.
Eriset sighed none the less, already scribbling random doodles on her page – as long as she kept her head down from now on, things should be fine.
Especially with those assholes keeping him pre-occupied. Though I suppose it’s not surprising that a bunch of guys that came here for a hot teacher would still act like they’re in high-school…’ She thought with a frown, keeping her eyes cast down on her page.

With a sigh he turned his gaze from Pajama girl back to the student he had first admonished. "You mate, are the reason why the whole world goes down the drain, well not you personally but the collective mentality around you. Let's put it this way, why are you in this class? Because you want to further learn about human nature and apply it to your personal development? No...do you need it? Yes... sighing again but this time with a bemused, slightly sadistic smile at the indignation on his student's face. Well his and his friends huddled in a tight knit group.

Profiting by the pause he deliberately gave, the group started to vocalise their thoughts Sit down and shut up, you wanted a lecture...I'll give you one. It is easy to notice that most of you are here for Ms. Browne, beautiful true, but how many among you are willing to admit they have the hots for a GILF? The reaction to his statement was varied from people that knew the term and had their mixed feelings show on their face, to people that didn't and were wandering why the first group was looking paler and people that were amused by the situation.

With a clap he restored the order in the hall. That was only a half truth by the way, but still I could hear your sphincters clamp down in fear of the term. Name of the class is Social Study, but it should rather be called "Research into the domains of sociology and sociopathy", but it ain't my place to decide that... The spirits were still taught in the hall, well some of them...well they'll get over it. Now, for those students that are actually able to think for themselves. If you look around yourselves you will see 3 large categories of people after this first test. Can anyone state these to me?

After a short pause, some started to raise their hands while others just glared at him. Yes, that's better. This actually starts to feel like a class. Scanning the hall he laid his eyes back on the Pajama girl. Now luv, what was your name? he asked absent-mindedly, not that he wanted her name, just to single her out.Wanna enlighten us on what those are?

She looked a bit shocked at first – that was a bold statement to put it mildly. A look around the room
GILF? Haven’t heard that one before…’ She mused lightly, drawing lightly on the margins of her page. She was getting a strange feeling in the front of her skull – a niggle of sorts. She tried to rub her forehead, but it was deeper than her scalp. It was a tickle at the front of her brain. Something that she couldn’t quite remember – the way that he moved around, talked…had she seen this lecturer before?
Eriset doubted it – all of the other lecturers she’d had before had been a lot older, and she definitely would have recognized him after seeing his delivery on the stage.
Maybe it had just been around campus – that would have explained it, only that she hadn’t even heard of this guy before. If he had been here longer than a semester, Eriset figured she would have at least heard of him before. No doubt he’d have attracted a decent following of female students, eager to fulfil some kind of student/teacher fantasy.

An elbow to her side cause her to yelp painfully, hand flying to massage the assualted bruise – the girl next to her look apologetic, but tipped her head slightly towards the front. Sending back a thankful look, she tried to casually rub away the burning feeling.
Eriset cleared her throat – she’d been questioned, apparently. She rubbed her forehead again, this time in annoyance, feeling like she was a bad student in a high-school class.
Eriset.” She said simply, careful not to fumble while making sure she gave the correct name.
This was not going as planned, at all.

Three groups? Shocked, confused and ashamed?
The tittering of laughter spread through the class, appreciating the dry humour. Hand covering her mouth casually, she frowned. This wasn’t the plan. Apart of her was proud for the quip,a part of her was annoyed at her inability to contain herself, and a part of her was calculating. It wasn't too bad - in fact, it could prove to be an advantage for her. Maybe if she seemed intolerable enough, he wouldn’t try to engage her anymore. Eriset wasn’t too sure what he expected anyways – getting a serious answer out of a class that had felt deceived for the most was bordering on too high of an expectation. That and it was a first lecture – she hardly suspected that anyone else had even bought the textbook yet, let alone started reading through it. It was lucky enough that he was presenting to a full house, instead of the dribs and drabs that would fight their better judgement to stay home and enjoy the lack of responsibility for the first week. Eriset bit back a dry laugh - maybe she should have done that, she definitely wouldn't be in this position now.

Raising an eyebrow as she answered his question, he ignored the reaction of the students. Turning around to face the blackboard, Karl picked up the piece of chalk again.
Right you are, well almost... Without turning towards them he continued. In my class you'll only need an open mind and the occasional notepad if you hear anything you deem important to remember. While writing her answers on the board There will also be no written tests in my class, due to it's abstract nature. Absorbed by the lecture he recites he appears to be ignorant of the students. On the other hand my grading will similarly abstract. But I digress.

Facing his students again, he barely managed to hid his amazement at the general consensus of the class under a statement You aren't in high school anymore, are you? This much is shouldn't shock you... He barred with an X the shocked word on the board. Now, back to you...umm...Pajama girl. While it is true that there were a lot of people shocked emphasizing the word It was more of a general feeling, everyone felt it for different reasons. So it doesn't fit Underlining the next word. Confused risked to fall in the same category ,as the last, because of me. But if we strictly refer to the effect of the word, it passes. People confused about what the word means, why some people reacted like they did or even why was such a term used by a teacher.

Underlining the last word This also was close to fall in the gray, but due to a certain purity some of you still detain even thou you know what that term meant, it passes. So we have a group of ashamed people. Now, last but not least the third group was the one formed by the ones amused, either by the word being used, or by the reactions it drew out. he laid down the chalk and clapped his hands to shake off any excess dust. As if breaking a spell the class that became still over the last few minutes started to rustle. One last thing, as I previously said, this class is quite abstract in nature, so feel free to question my statements. That is if you have a pertinent reason.
