Awesome, sounds good.

Mind if I start my IC somewhere near the Siren, with my character pretty much shipwrecked?

I'd say she could be in a ship's boat, but I guess that would quickly capsize too...

I guess I'll have her be "in the area."

So I should post something along the lines of the ship hitting rocks/being swamped/completely capsizing? Or have the ship right itself?

Hmm... Maybe the ship should right itself, but not slowly. Like, crashing down!

Name: Aislinn Liles
Nicknames/Titles: Tinybit
Age:22
Gender:Female
Allegiance: Pirate
Allegiance Faction: The Siren
Role: Cannons/artillery
Personality: Energetic and easy going, Sharp as a tack, and free and frivolous, this young lady presents almost an ideal case for bipolar... If it were 100% deliberately times. Aislinn is an Irish-accented enigma. At first impression, and many to follow, she seems light a bright, eager, and almost childish woman that has no business aboard a pirate vessel. However, when the time comes, the fiery red-head becomes another person entirely. More knowledgeable in the way of heavy gunpowder weaponry than many men, she quickly shows herself to be shrewd, serious, calculating and detail-driven.
Enhanced Ability: Her work in heavy weaponry may seem odd given her visibly small stature, however she has a skilled mind for the mathematics necessary for her job as well as the strength necessary to perform each task. The former is probably her true skill, the shrewd intelligence and attention to numbers and details, while the other is likely the product of repetitively performing each separate task that surrounds deck and cannon work aboard the pirate vessels she has known since her twelfth year of life.
Biography: Aislinn doesn't remember much of her life before piracy. She was 12 years old when sailing with her family from Ireland to England, the ship they were aboard spotted pirates. Her parents quickly bid her to change in to the spare clothing brought by her older brother before they came close enough to broadside and board. She was only-just successful in her disguise when the first set of boots hit the deck of the merchant and passenger vessel. It was that very disguise that spared her life. Along with ten of the other children- all boys around her own age- Aislinn watched helplessly as many others were murdered and the ship sank. She and the boys that struggled were knocked unconscious and thrown below deck to regain themselves.
It didn't take long for the pirates to discover her sharp with and capability on the vessel, unlike the span of time it took to discover her gender- on this particular ship that discovery never happening. She was quickly put to work on the guns and learning how to use them and store them and all that went with them properly. Aislinn grew strong and worked hard, finding the life of piracy to be rather enjoyable. Although staying with those that killed her family was... Less than optimal for her sanity. That wasn't much of a problem, however: within a short year or two she had become a full fledged member of the crew and, eventually and within the confines of a pirate port, she was allowed to leave and make her way on to another ship. The Siren.
Unlike the previous ship, she felt right at home on the Siren from the get-go. It was, she found, much easier to put herself in to the work she was growing to love more each day. Aislinn also discovered it was much easier when her true gender was revealed at last, shortly after she turned 16. She studied closely under the main crew member in charge of the cannons and worked her hardest to prove herself to the captain. When the crew mate she had so taken to and learned from- as if he were a father figure- succumbed to a gunshot wound from the raid, Aislinn found herself the lead on the heavy artillery of the ship.
Likes: clear skies, open seas, gentle rains, faerie stories (which she believes with her entire, precious little celtic heart, are true), sweets, fuzzy things.
Dislikes: Idiots and ignorance, non-heavy gun-powder weapons, too- salty or too-spicy things, "icky" textures, perfumes, rats
Family: One brother, somewhere, who had moved to England to join the British Royal Navy (the purpose for that fateful sailing)
Weapons: Cutlass, Dagger, and well-shined brass knuckles.
Miscellaneous: "*picks up scraggly black kitten by the scruff* What the fuck is this sad bag of bones?" "OH MY GODS! IT'S SO CUTE AND FLUFFY! I MUST HAVE IT. *snatches kitten and cuddles it* I shall name you Mab and you shall be mine and our lives shall be glorious because you shall feast on those nasty rats when they get in to my stores! Yes, you will! And in return I shall love you and tell you stories." "Ais... It's a cat." "IT IS MY KITTY! YOU WILL RESPECT THE MAB!" "Ais... seriously." "Don't you seriously m- SQUIRREL!"
Moral of this story: Show this woman something fluffy and all the distractions are had. All of them. Also. She has a black cat named Mab who hunts stow away rats in the cargo hold. Also, also: she is 5'4" tall and weighs only about 120lbs.

I think we're waiting for the owner to post, or at least the Siren's crew are.
