@ShidenBlades Sure. I have a host of characters you can pick from. Link in my signature. Just ignore the non arena characters.

Also, recently I've been thinking about a massive story based crossover based strictly in the arena. Like, all the regulars and their fave characters in some story based epic fight against some huge nightmarish force that threatens the multiverse as a whole.

Would have each of our regulars as their iconic character, like Skall as himself, Rilla as Rilla or Tre'Yan, stuff like that, and everyone teams up against a player or GM controlled massive threat.

How's that sound, and like if it were a thing how would it work?

Mine would have to be Alphonse or Kei'taro. xD

Rilla's dead.

If we don't care about numbers and all that technical stuff, seems like we'd also ignore things like friction like most super heroes. For example, the Flash would incinerate everyone he passes by, including himself unless his secondary power is insane levels of heat resistance, and the moment Superman begins to throw a punch he'd destroy a huge chunk of the surrounding area in a pressure wave far more powerful than a nuclear blast.

That being said, simply giving them secondary defensive powers to allow them to use their own abilities doesn't cut because it would still devestate the surroundings on a city wide scale (and not in the intended way) if we get too powerful. I guess we're just saying "because magic" to ignore other troublesome physics or are we going with something else?

In my multiverse I'd have to say that their magical energy ignores certain mundane physics automatically, so running super fast won't incinerate, create pressure waves, obliterate them on contact with a bug without having to be insanely durable etc. One person also has an infinite speed beam (which some does dodge by anticipating the shot), which would obviously be so powerful it would destroy reality without ignoring mundane physics.

@ImportantNobody Infinite Speed.

You do realize you would literally tear a hole in reality with something like that.

You would break down physics on a fundamental level with literally infinite energy.

Also, how does a character even GET infinite speed beams?

Alphonse looks like an awesome match for Nicoli if you're game.

Again it is your multiverse. Unless we are involved in any meaningful way does it matter? If it is generic everyone involved multiverse then it doesn't matter because the laws of physics must necessarily be flexed to allow everything.

I don't want you to be angry, but the goings on in your setting are yours. You are god, you can do anything, establish any rule or set of rules. That is the beauty of your own verse.

No one gives a rats ass about some of the minute or idiosyncratic things in my verse. And they shouldnt.

Interestingly, one anime called Darker than Black does the more realistic option and the super speed guy runs into rain and the raindrops are like bullets on his skin because he's not super durable. That's the difference "minute" physics changes can bring. Also, it would be good if it was so interesting of a concept that people would be trying to read more about the finer details.

I realize that, that's why I said that. :p

Infinite speed beam guy got it through training for a couple minutes or something because he has swag. He's one of the most powerful in the multiverse.

For my multiverse I'm going with the "the magical energy doesn't interact normally with mundane physics" option so infinite speed doesn't mean infinite attack power and energy.

We should do Death Battle style matches where we pit characters against each other for no reason, take away any aversion to killing their opponent, and decide on the outcome beforehand based on who we think would win and then type up a coreographed fight scene of epicness.

Also, I don't like choreographed battles. They aren't very fun; they don't happen with the same kind of spontaneity that play-by-post does. Though I put too much emphasis on mindless fun, so numbers are arbitrary for me (except maybe in GURPS, which can be pretty fun while still pretty crunchy). If you guys want to do all the math for me though, I wouldn't mind looking at it.

A deathbattle could be a lot of fun. But, I'm with Descartes, I say no to the choreographed fights. Takes the fun out of it.

@Rilla

How about a duel between Alphonse and Shin? They are for lack of a better term, near identical in a lot of ways.

It might be interesting to have a match. I do not see them fighting to the death, but something to push them to their limits for sure.

@DJAtomika Basically, a gunfight. You get points based off how cool the shit you do is. One guy won using a MRI machine.

@ShidenBlades Perhaps in the future, currently, I'm doing no fights. That may change soon though.

I guess our version of Death Battle doesn't have to be predetermined. It could copy Gunfight for no reason and give points for epicness so your character can die but you still win. A lot of the points would be staying in character because the point of death battle is putting characters against each other.

Or I could do my own death battles on deviant art with my own characters but it might not be too iteresting for them if they don't know much about them beforehand. I guess I'd need to slowly build up a roster there. Another problem could be that death battle is putting similar, evenly matched characters so I wouldhave no point of creating a bunch of similar characters, so would have to stretch this a bit else it will turn to Evvie Clone death battle.

I began to roleplay adventure genre but recently i know a battle roleplay, in spanish this type of role has guides or modes and i think "thats stuff is only forma this type of rol un spanish por other roleplayers has diferents modes for this? This is the reason of im here, learn for non-spanish battleplayers, if its posible

@Mermelade Angel We have guides, we have tutors. In all honesty it really depends on what exactly you want to learn. Do you want to learn competative arena or more story style fighting? Do you want melee, hand to hand or magic? Are you looking to apply your own martial training to roleplaying? If you have a martial arts background it is easier. Are you willing to listen? It goes much smoother if you are.

@Skallagrim I didn't have a martial arts back ground. Then again, I don't really win or really play all too often.

That said, I think he should just create as many characters he can think of and go on a test run. That way, he could build some experience right off the bat and maybe net a few points as well.

What good does a "test" run do if you don't understand the basics? We want to bring new people to the arena to grow it. Simply saying make a character and go fight does not help them. Understanding a stance, how to dodge, how to write a weapon strike that hits but doesn't force a hit can't be learned on a test run.

Welcome to the Arena, Angel. I'm assuming someone sent you to me directly. the shits.

Anyway, we have our rules and guides, surely someone here can teach you how things work here. as long as you are willing to listen, then there shouldn't be an issue. perhaps you can, in exchange, teach us what you knos - assuming it isnt wholly similar to our own.
