Story thus far
In a world…
In a world much like ours, there is an arcade. No, wait. There’s an internet café. No, wait! It’s an internet café arcade! Kinda…just go with it. It’s called LAN Party.
Anyway, for a small fee, you can enter this café and log into a game machine, where you can play any video game that’s on the system...network…server…thing. Whatever. This café is known for having literally any genre you can think of, and all the games are made by indie developers, so the café arcade can keep their prices low since they don’t have to pay exorbitant licensing fees and whatnot. They say it’s a pretty sweet place to live.
Did I say “live”? Heh, heck yeah, that’s what I said! We’re the, uh, the Ghosts in the Machine, so to speak. We’re the little doods and doodettes that run back and forth across your screens blasting aliens, or blasting zombies, or blasting robots, or blasting…ah, you get it.
Unfortunately, we’re in danger right now. Someone has released a virus onto the Lan Party server, turning this Lan Party into Lag Party, if you know what I mean. If someone doesn’t stop The Virus soon, they’re going to have to do a complete wipe of the system. You know what that means, right?
GAME OVER, MAN! GAME OVER!
Who will heed the Call of Duty? Will it be you?
Setting
There are essentially three worlds in this roleplay: The ‘Real’ world, The ‘Server’, and The ‘Game’.
In the Real world, you have your average humans going about their business, living their ordinary lives, completely unaware that there is a world beyond their own. This world will have very little screen time, except for a few background events.
The Server acts as a hub where the video game characters can all get together and hang out. They can pursue relationships, compete with one another, just plain hang out, or attend Bad Guy Anonymous meetings (among other things).
The Game world(s) are where most of the action will be taking place. The Games represent the places where the different game characters are from, and as such, each player will have more control over events in their own respective world. Your game, your rules (except when they’re my rules).
Okay, if you haven’t guessed by now, this is totally a Wreck-It-Ralph RP (at least in terms of the setting). You play as a video game character on a server with other video game characters. That being said, here are the rules and signups:
Da Rules
1. All standard Roleplayer Guild rules apply.
2. Everyone may have as many characters as they think they can handle. As an aside, I don’t plan on killing anyone off, but I’m not against the idea. For plot related reasons, of course.
3. Please, no godmodding (No Infinite Lives or Invulnerability cheats. Multiple lives are okay, as well as many of the standard superpowers and powerups.) Please don’t control other peoples’ characters without their permission, either. Everyone will, however, be allowed to control NPCs in their own respective worlds.
4. Players are allowed to be a Glitch if they wish, within limitations, of course. As an aside, I’m will be flexible on the subject of glitches and allow them to leave their games.
5. Please, don’t be a jerk in the OOC. If there is some sort of disagreement, surely it can be talked out. We’re all people, right?
6. I’m okay with romance between characters, but please keep it PG-13. If you wish to get jiggy, please take it to PMs.
7. This is more of a guideline than a rule, but I want to see Original Characters (and games). I’d rather not see a bunch of Soaps, Commander Shephards, Freddys, Marios, or the like. I’m not saying that you can’t be like them, just don’t be them.
8. Have fun. I don’t like post length limits; just do whatever you feel comfortable with. As well, try to post at least once a week. Even I won’t be able to post every single day, and it would be unfair to expect anyone else to.
9. Characters have to be approved before they can post. Please post all CSs to the OOC for approval, then move them over to the Characters tab when I approve them.
And now, the signups!
