I think that might have just been sleep paralysis.

As far as we know, it's a hallucination based off of the dream you were having before you woke up. After all, we are always dreaming, we just don't remember it all (some people, like me, almost never remember their dreams).

I might have had sleep paralysis, but it was a really long time ago. When I was two (or maybe younger), I got insanely sick. The flu, strep throat, and a third one I don't remember. My temp was consistently juuust low enough for me to not need to be rushed to the ER, but we needed to use two medicines to keep it there (I still need two different medicines to treat my fevers, for some reason). It's the only thing I really remember from that time, but there was this recurring hallucination I kept having, and I never moved or talked during it. I was just there, lying horrified. It could have easily been sleep paralysis, since (being a sick two year old) I slept quite a bit, and fever dreams like to repeat. I've never actually thought of it this way, but yeah, I guess that could have been it.

I've never thought that much about the paranormal (aside from the one time in 8th grade), but I'd never discount the possibility. My general policy on the paranormal, spirituality, religion, etc. is "I dunno, you decide". So... I guess that's my answer here.

As for the topic of this... uh... topic, I had this one dream way back when I was five or something. I walked into this empty white room with a bunch of doors, but every door just led to a bathroom or closet. After a few minutes of frantically trying to get out and panicking the whole time, I walked right into the middle of the room and happily said "I know how to get out of here!" Then I woke up.

Looking back, that's always funny.

I have had many interesting and weird dreams, most recently was the bowl of chili one. To put it short in this dream my friend punches me and I turn into a bowl of chili. The said person does the shifty eyes (>.> <.< >.>) before eating me like it was normal. Oh the guy punched me because I used a sub instead of real meat. Funny thing is he is OK with that so I don't know why that dream even happened.

I think that shows how weird and psycho I must be going. :p

I had a strange dream once, though it wasn't actually last night.

It was normal. Disturbingly normal. I pretty much just dreamed of all the things I had done that day, but the dream wasn't really recollections of things I had done. While everything was completely in the realm of possible and extremely accurate to what I usually did, I remembered enough to know I hadn't actually done those things that day. I started realizing it was a dream and tried to prove it to myself by changing the dream. I found that I couldn't control the dream. At all. I couldn't stop myself and think in the dream, I just kept wandering around my usual day while my head buzzed with confusion. I ended up forgetting pretty much everything after this point.

The next morning when I woke up, I remembered the dream and got extremely confused. I genuinely could not remember whether it was a dream or a memory. It was only through a lot of logical thinking that I convinced myself it was a dream.

My head got disembodied just as I was eating during a dream , but then my head was floating and I could fly through the skies. For some reason I did weird shit, such as crashing straight into people, hitting a building and causing it to collapse (I couldn't recall whether or not I recited the Takbir before that), and entering a nuclear facility and triggering launch buttons to start World War 3.

Fun times.

Dreams are extremely interesting as a topic of academic study! :) If anyone's interested in reading Freud's "The Interpretation of Dreams", but don't want to endure Freud (who was generally a horrible person, additionally), "On Dreams" is a simplified work by him summing up the major points.

I dreamt of having my heart eaten out of my chest cavity by a pack of white-wolves, in a snow-packed hut with broken windows in the mountains.

My dream was actually interesting, for once. I usually dream of random and weird stuff, so having a somewhat lucid dream that is not a goddamn nightmare is nice. I dreamed I peed on pregnancy test stick-thingy and two lines appeared, so my body might be trying to tell me something; either that I am pregnant (which I doubt) or that I want another baby, which I already knew.

I have several reoccurring nightmares, which I've been told are all fairly typical and has some hidden meaning if you believe in that sort of stuff.
One is me running up a spiral staircase and something chasing behind me. I never know what it is that is chasing me, but I know that I have this panicky and urgent need to get the hell away. Then I get to the top of the stairs and it's like I'm at the top of a tower, with a cylindrical drop in front of me, with chains and vines and shit on the walls. Because I have this urgent need to get away from that whatever-it-is, I jump (I am terrified of heights, so...). I fall for what feels like an eternity, grasping for those chains and vines on the walls, but it's like the walls bend away from me whenever I do. Finally, I get to the bottom, where I fall through the "ground" and I'm underwater and can't get up. It's like the surface is made of rubber and I can push at it and it bends, but I can't break through.
I usually wake up bathed in sweat and panting like I've just run a marathon.

A bit behind on the subject, but I thought sleep paralysis was simply the feeling of being fully awake and lucid, but not being able to move. I recall having sleep paralysis exactly once, and it felt nothing like an out of body experience or anything like that, it just felt like my mind had woken up but my body hadn't and I couldn't move for about five seconds. Weird, and a little scary in that "I feel like I'm trapped in my own body" sort of way, but far from a paranormal feeling.

Anyways, I've had some weird ass dreams before. Like this one.

I was driving through Dallas, trying to get to some place I didn't really know, but I had a map. I was about to exit from my highway and join another when I noticed that the road ahead was completely flooded, as in what was once solid land and road was now a lake. Naturally, I started to take a detour, but it led me to the really ghetto part of Dallas. There came a point that I knew I wouldn't get around the lake without either walking or doubling back and taking another highway. So, I did the completely logical thing and got out and walked.

I got to the other side of the lake, but then I saw a group of ISIS troops moving out of a small drainage tunnel. I introduced myself as a journalist so as to avoid getting my ass shot off, and they took me in, though somewhat threateningly. I actually began to take a liking to some of them, so it was a shame that I was hatching a plan to kill them all; either that or get away and tell the CIA or something. I began to take count of their guns, finding about 6 AKs of various types, a couple of pistols and an uzi. I knew I was hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned, but they weren't being overtly hostile, so I figured I still had some time to make a plan.

One of the guys, who I noticed wasn't taking very kindly to my presence, began to threaten me with his rifle. I began to plead, but not too pitifully, for my life before he started firing shots at me. none of them hit, but by that point the guy whom I deduced was the head honcho shot him, then proceeded to use his AK and bayonet as a pike to stab the hell out of the other guy's back. I was just about to leave while no one else was looking, but then I was like "Ehh, fuck it, I'm having fun." I came back just in time to see a trio of other people show up making a "Hail Hitler" gesture, whom I deduced were neo-nazis. The conversation that went on between them and the boss of the ISIS group confirmed my suspicions, though I couldn't help but be skeptical. They didn't quite come off as neo-nazis, just a group of really punkish kids, complete with cheap leather jackets, black skinny jeans, crazy hairstyles and combat boots.

"This some new guy?" the lead punk asked, gesturing to me. I couldn't help but think she was hot, but I didn't get the chance to continue looking as the guy the ISIS leader stabbed to death became a zombie and tried to bite me. I threw him off and made a run for it, though I reconsidered once I realized I didn't have a weapon, so I went back. Two others had already turned and the punk kids were nowhere to be found, nor were any of the 6 fucking AKs I had counted before. I searched for an AK until one of the zombies started to chase me away. I managed to knock it over and stomp it's skull in before I decided to withdraw and flank around to one side. As I did so, the gunfire died down, and I succeeded in staying out of sight. As it turned out, the punk kids were hanging out where I came around. "You're an interesting one. Want to hang out with us?" the leader asked, brandishing a newly acquired AKMS. I came back with "In a minute, I need an AK."

I dropped off of a ledge next to an elevator shaft a few meters away from where the ISIS guys all were. As it turned out two were left; one with an AKS-74U and the other with an AKM. I approached them slowly and tried to come off as though I was trying to help, but then they blamed me for the zombies killing their friends before raising their AKs and shooting at me. I got hit in the shoulder, but being in an adrenaline rush, I barely felt it. I got inside the elevator shaft and waited for the guy with the 74U to come into sight before karate chopping his neck, kneeing him in the groin, then headbutting him until he went down. I grabbed his AK and sprayed the other guy down, making sure to double tap each of them in the head.

It was a fun dream.

Lol, I rarely watch the news, I don't listen to the radio when I sleep, and I have never seen that movie, though I have seen a lot of zombie movies.

And I actually found the dream enjoyable, in that it was so random and weird. A lot of my dreams can just be straight up bizarre, and plenty have been much worse than that one.

I will say that when I used to play Amnesia and some of the custom stories and all that that I had a ton of really terrifying dreams that seemed to take place in similar settings with similar monsters and shit.

I don't remember much about it, but I remember having a dream where I was in the Red Army at the time of the Russian Revolution in the early 1900s, singing all sorts of marching songs for the glory of the Soviet Party

Well shit, my computer is leaking vodka again.

I specifically remember that my dream last night was pretty violent. Which is weird for me, there isn't usually much in the way of violence in my dreams.

It's a little fuzzy, but there was some sort of conflict between two groups that spiraled out of control after one guy shot another guy. Then people were out assassinating members of the opposing side all left and right.

But the image that I remember specifically was that some woman got her throat slit in a swimming pool at night. She passed out, dunked her head in the water, and then vaguely woke up in a sort of half-dead haze and commented on how nice the water was.

I distinctly recall watching a van crashing through a fence in my last dream in what looked like Alaska through a window. Don't ask me what that means.
