All hail the new dictator of Sawl, Lauder!

History:
The Confederacy of Sawl was started up by multiple merchants who got fed up with their own governments for various reasons; taxes, respect, etc. The merchants banded together and set aside any hate that they may have had for one another, they wanted to make a place in their image where they didn't need to deal with that problem. They made landfall on the place they would call home and began to clear out the natives in the immediate area. A colony was set up and so was a port, allowing for more ships and trade. They began thriving. They had been expanding rapidly accommodate for heavy immigration, leading to the territory the have now.

In following years, Sawl went over a massive civil dispute and whether the country should be isolationist or not. The government at the the time said yay, a majority of the others did not want this though as they feared it would dwindle the economy. It wasn't until three years later, a two year civil war broke out over this. In the end the rebellion had succeeded and the the government had been eliminated. Afterwards, the nation became more militarized in order to properly defend their lands from pirate and the natives in the surrounding area. Now with a population just under 300 million.

@6slyboy6 I'm not sure what you mean when you say my post is meta-gamey.

The first part is about the weather and effects of the opened boarder, mostly just for flavor text.

The second was a follow up to the intrigue conflict you started, stating that while my people being "fanatics" helps them notice outsiders but that their suspicions didn't equate to a proper defense, more just a hassle.

And the third part was a mobilization order against the "True Kingdom" which has been threatening the trade route.

Meta gaming. Sorry. Basic post rules. How come you know my dude is a spy. And how come you just simply take him into custody. I set a good plot for Inkdrop, almost saying in my post that he should capture my dude. But you didn't say anything.

Jack hated every part of being with these fanatics.

However all the papers in the world did not change the man, and this man as legal in appearance as he was held a certain undisguisable disdain for the “fanatics” as he saw them. He was good at hiding it, good at being ordinary but not so ordinary as to be questionable, but as with all strong natured cultures there were some aspects one could not falsify.

"Jack" was eventually released, he did have the appropriate papers and despite a stern questioning by The Civil Forces there was no evidence to prove he was anything more than a tradesman who held the Drakun culture in disdain.

The authorities of Drakun don't "know" he is a spy, but you made the point that he hated the people, going so far as to call them "fanatics". Being fanatics and having lived in an isolated culture for a few generations the people of Drakun tend to notice an outsiders in their midst, hence the suspicion and subsequent "questioning" of Jack. However for all of this the rule of law is above suspicion and fanaticism, I made reference to this with playwright being shielding from the arch-chancellors guards in my latest post and Jack was released without charges because of this.

For all the fuss I just wanted to make the point that spies within Drakun have their work cut out for them.

You qouted your own text. Can a contracter not make a contract with someone from Drakun? Man they guys from Eldron are gonna be PISSED that they thought one of their guys was a spy!

Also sorry for lack of posts, this RP is withering sadly. I will post, but it seems life hit all of us hard.

What is your industry exactly?

Looking at the resources map, it would mainly be fishing and timber for raw resources and such. For actual producing things, I'll see. I would assume they refine the logs into planks then sell that. To get ores and such I would have to go and capture nearby hills.

@Inkdrop You! You can post now. I know mine took a long ass time, but I have another very active RP to GM, and my week is busy too so I don't have much time. And just as always this is an RP about strategy and thinking.

@Inkdrop It is like the Cold-War between our countries. I will try and avoid using info about your spies, hence I always point it out. I think you are in for a surprise, and something like the inventing if the light bulb might happen. If you know what I mean ;)
