My only concern is that you have said he works for MI6. Whilst MI6 does support the prevention of serious organised crime, it typically works overseas. It's MI5 that's responsible for national/domestic security. Even then, unless they believed that the MC was linked to terrorism, I can't see why they would use an operative; it seems more likely that the NCA would deploy someone undercover.
Your character could still be ex-MI6, but I'd rather you make the small adjustment to make it a bit more fathomable. I'd like to know a bit more about why your character is involved with the club too (unless this is something you want to keep a secret?).
The Club is a means to work his way up the chain to the Drug Lords, not looking to bust the MC, but using them to get to the ones at the top, if club gets busted in the process, just an added bonus. switching to MI5
