Normally I would but I'm swamped this year for the first time, I think I'll just do my own little thing in December.

Yes, I'll probably be doing NaNo this year. I did it once (for a class, it was either succeed or fail the class) two years ago, and I plan on a total revision of that novel for this year. Same characters (mostly), same plot (with changes I made in hindsight), but in a completely new time period and location (from medieval fantasy to post-modern metropolis).

I'm excited and nervous. Now that I don't have grades to worry about I'm wondering about how well my motivation will keep me going.

Well... I DO have a creative writing assignment in my English class.

And my ego will be hurt if I don't.

So yeah, I might as well. I'm sure I don't fail all of my classes because I don't do anything but write.

I did it once, but it was an interesting month where I was out of town for the first weekend and was working forty hours while taking a class for the rest, so the NaNo work was a hell of a slog. Probably won't do it again.

Yeah it's tough. When I did it I was taking a 20 credit class load in college, rehearsing for three shows (two dance, one theatre), and working 20 hours a week. It was fun.

In fact we're trying to think of ways to account for NaNoWriMo in RPGC. Like.... hopefully more elaborate than "If you won NaNo you also get a prize here," but ideas are hard.

Anyway yeah, I'm doing it. And seriously, too -- I actually have an in with a pretty popular author and he wants to see what I got, so I'm gonna adapt that Cintamani Stone story I did for TTL into a full-on book.

I was actually seriously considering doing the NaNoWriMo challenge this year, but then Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 was being released on November 10th.

I'm in a weird spot where for once NaNoWriMo lands after exams, so I'm going to melt together a bunch of characters and settings I've been thinking of and try my hand at weird fantasy.
