Hello!
I used to be a member of this site a loooong time ago and others like it, so ignore my very non-existent post count, please. I can always provide examples, just ask.
Furthermore, I do take a day or two off at a time to conjure an idea (or a plethora of) in my head. If I am gone, it's because I have work and I just can't force myself to write. I always come back, so please have patience with me and understand that even though I may not be bountiful in my writings; they are well thought out.
Open to all mediums; forum, PM's, email/google docs.
Basic Stats about me:
Literacy skill: college level. Sometimes I get a few punctuation wrong or repeat a word, but always understandable.
Paragraphs per post: 2 - 10, always well thought out.
* I only say 10 because I tend to get really involved in a story and tend to write a lot, but it's always a good read, at least I try. If you're worried about what I write in volume, do NOT worry. I love writing a lot and I am in now way offended if you write a few paragraphs compared to what might possibly be my dozen paragraphs, that's the best part of it, I think. :)
Settings/Ideas:
Virtual Reality Massively Online Role Playing Game
In short: similar to Alfheim Online (aka Sword Art Online) but you need not know that to join in.
Our characters, up to four or six or just two of us will play in a game called ______. Story mechanics will be handled by myself as well as driving storyline and plot. The basics for each of our characters will be simple; pick one of six races (we can overlap or be all one race) and write an intricate storyline to bring us all together and eventually "beat" the game. It's a very lighthearted idea, to be honest. I'll come back to this idea.
Apocalypse-
Enter/Pre-Apocalypse:
- The world is set many thousands of years into the future from our current timeline. As the human race advances, they replace fossil fuels with solar panels, wind/ocean turbines, and even manage to bring all developing countries up to more modern times. Technology is so evolved that all humans are host to a wide variety of nanobots, especially in the brain, to enhance every facet of the Human experience. News, social medias, and art have all evolved to fit with the Human Network, known as the H-Net or simply [i]the network.
Approximately 99.98% of all humans are given their first inoculation at birth and receive more doses over time. Those without the nanobots flowing through their bloodstream cannot access most everyday technology as much of it is activated through telepathy. Humans can also communicate telepathically and even perform small feats of telekinesis. Screens exist more or less in touchable holograms that are accessible nearly anywhere and sensory input is solely decided by the user. These screens are created by a fine wave of particles and can be viewed by a large crowd or by a small group of people to prevent crowding. Without these nanobots, the world looks mad, waving their hands at invisible screens. But with them, the world is more colorful than the few colors and grays that any human can know.
As humans have evolved with this technology, so have their bodies and rejection of the nanobots is nonexistent. Even the poorest of countries and people are connected to the Network.
Then the network is lost. First in the space colonies, then on the ground. A simple solar flare to take the entire human race offline, or so it would seem. From Mercury to Mars, all had humans lost their limitless source of innate power and unable to use much of the incredible technology that relied on their powerful telepathic and telekinetic connections. Insanity ensues as many of the humans can no longer think rationally or even communicate. So the world's only hope rests on the shoulders of those who can reboot the network.
