It was a normal working day for Erin. She was trying to learn her lines for the new movie, The Blacks. It was a family film about a family, in which Erin was playing a young step-mother. In between learning her lines Erin was dealing with the deals of her current life. She was going through a dangerous, hard divorce with Ricardo. She had been married to Ricardo for just a year, but it had quickly gone from love and roses to black and blue. She was currently dealing with divorce proceedings whilst trying to work with her agent to find a body guard. It was much needed as she had to watch her back at all times currently. It didn't help with the press trying to find out what was going on in her relationship.

Erin sighed as she sat in her gated 8 bed-room mansion in the Bahamas. She had headed to her holiday home to escape everything that was going on. Sat by the pool she read over the script going over her lines. Luckily for Erin she had a true talent for learning her lines easily and pretty quickly. She had 8 weeks before she needed to go to New York City to commence the filming of The Blacks.

“So you seem like a perfect fit for the job, here is your flight ticket to the Bahamans where Ms. Edwards lives. I will pick you up from the airport and you will say at the hotel nearby to keep an eye on her. I’ll see you soon.” Was the voicemail left on the phone of Havardr Bye. It had been a long time since Havardr had done any traveling outside of returning back to Norway, until now. Take the job!! His sister’s nagging voice echoed in his mind, You need to get out and about. Since college you’ve been boring and not doing anything for yourself. Doing this work could give you a chance to travel with a celebrity! Her main reasoning was sound, he never got out much but at the same time, it was something and something’s better than nothing.

The seven foot giant ducked into the plane before helping an older woman with her carry on luggage get into the overhead compartment. Most people would complain about being flown out to meet a celebrity for a job interview would be flown first class but Havardr was just happy to not be swimming. Instead he settled in his seat and relaxed even though he was in a cramped space.

He woke up to the plane landing and looked out the window in amazement; the Bahamas were beautiful and bright. As he left the plane he changed into a pair of shorts and a comfortable shirt with sandals, the heat was not his favorite thing but he knew how to dress for it. Running his hand through his curly brown hair he left the airport and found the car waiting for him only to be greeted by the manager of Ms. Edwards. The typical ‘you’re a lot bigger than I thought you were’ comment came out of the manager’s mouth and was met with a simple gentle shrug, “I get that a lot.” With that they climbed into the car and started towards Ms. Edwards.

Erin sat in her mansion. She had finished reading through her lines and felt as if she was getting to the bottom of it. Lay on her sunlounger with a large pillow over it, she was laying relaxing in the sun. Dressed in a white bikini decorated all over in diamantes, she was relaxing by the pool. The heat was amazing and Erin felt so relaxed as she lay there enjoying the rays. It was amazing to just get away from everything that had happened. She regretted rushing in to marrying her soon to be ex husband. He had been so toxic, dangerous. She would now have to get on with her life, despite his continuous efforts to get near her again. The problem was that in his mind she was his property and he still had every right to do whatever he wished. Erin fell asleep with thoughts of her troubles running through her mind.
Erin was soon woken with a start. It was her manager.

You need to get ready, I have a bodyguard coming to get an interview with you.
Alright. A little more notice would have been better. Thanks Scott. I’ll see you soon.

Erin hung up and got up with a start. She headed into her mansion and into her bedroom. She went into the bathroom and switched on the shower. Immediately, 8 different heads covering the wall were switched on. Erin showered and once smelling of coconut she headed out of the shower. She quickly dried her hair and styled it into a top knot. She then dressed in a white playsuit and matching Channel sandals. A little makeup on and she was ready to see to the interview. She sat down in her living room awaiting the arrival of the interviewee.

Havardr found himself hypnotized by the sights out the window. He really had never been in a place so tropical and lively that he was enthralled by the scenes. People on bikes in swimsuits, local people selling things they had created to other locals and tourist. Bright and shining smiles from children with ice cream to senior citizens holding hands; some were obvious tourists much like himself, others were locals living there but that didn’t stop any of them from having a good time. “So basically, your job would be to just make sure she’s safe and help guide her through places and people that might get too friendly with her…”

“Uh-huh.” The curly haired brunette responded as he stared even longer out the window. It probably wasn’t the best answer to give to his new employer but at the same time, when you come from Ohio, this type of beach beauty and intense sunlight wasn’t something you really saw on a regular basis.

The house the manager pulled into was huge! Even the doors looked big enough that the seven foot tall man wouldn’t have to duck his way through and again, Havardr was in shock as he climbed out of the tiny car and stared up at the size of the manor. “Come, this way.” The manager said abruptly cutting off the young man thoughts. “Oh and leave your bags in the car, we’ll get you settled into the hotel when we’re done with the interview.” Havardr nodded to the man giving him a gentle closed lip smile as he followed the shorter man to the door.

The manger gave a few swift knocks before cracking open the door. “Erin?” He called out before slowly stepping inside. “Erin I have the interviewee with me. Where are you?” They had been in contact via text messaging and emailed as he shared the exciting news of finding the ‘perfect’ body guide for her. Of course, it was her final say, not his.

Havardr followed the manager in slowly, careful not to bump of damage anything due to his larger size and sometimes clumsy nature. When Erin responded with her location the manger left him down a hallway and into a living room. Havardr was aware he’d be interviewing as soon as he arrived so he dressed himself in a pair of black slacks and a causal deep red dress shirt even though it was quite a bit hotter here in than in Ohio; but hey, it was important to dress nicely for an interview. He was so entranced by the decoration of the large manor that he almost ran himself onto the wall by turning to soon. Luckily he side-stepped it with a shocking amount of grace for a man his size and looked into the room with curiosity in his deep brown eyes.

Upon landing on the interviewer, he felt his heart nearly jump out of his chest and his mouth went dry for a moment. “Erin?” He said in confusion. In the mists of all this, he would have never thought he’d run back into an old girlfriend in a situation like this; much less one he missed so terribly bad.

Erin was sitting awaiting the arrival of the body guard for her to interview. A bottle of water in her hand, water was good for her skin and with the weather the way it was she couldn't risk getting dehydrated either. She dropped the bottle of water onto the floor in shock though when she saw that the person who was coming for interview was her ex, Havardr. She stared at him, she couldn't help it. After all these years she couldn't believe he was stood right in front of her.

"Hi there. Well, there's no need to introduce ourselves as we know who each other are. So, sit down and we can go through some questions." She said before picking up a clipboard which contained the questions that she had written. Just because she knew him, she wasn't going to let that sway her away from him. Her manager, Charles, thought that Havardr was the best potential body guard so she would interview him.

"How much experience do you have and are you qualified?" She asked looking at him directly in the eye. She had been brought up with the thought that if someone looked you in the eye they were telling the truth.

Though Charlie’s wasn’t a short man, Havardr towered over the man by a good foot and walking in together he could see over the man’s head. Again, the house was beautiful and that wasn’t something that he had expected. He also didn’t expect to find one of his ex-girlfriend’s sitting in the chair. His sister was always a fan of her, during the time they were dating and when Erin began to appear in films, maybe his sister set this up in hopes the two would end up back together. Oh she was going to get a talking to when he got home, but that thought was for a later time.

They didn’t end on bad terms, just had to part ways to better themselves educationally. According to his sister, Erin married and was now going through a nasty divorce. Havardr felt bad for her, she was an incredible person and didn’t deserve the additional stress that came with a divorce. Who would have thought he’d have the chance to help. “See your fame precedes you.” Charles said with a grin as Havardr and he sat down across from Erin on the couch. It was obvious the previous relationship wasn’t common knowledge and it felt only right that Havardr kept his mouth shut about it.

“Well mam’,” He began, his soft politeness ringing through showing his still gentle nature. “I worked for a few years as a bouncer at a night club and formerly a bartender, which means I’m used to dealing with people who could be a problem. I also worked security for large events and helped presenters and performers navigate their way through large crowds and overly excited people. I’m afraid I do have many adventurous stories because I’ve found that most people are rather compliant with me.” He gave a small shrug, lifting and dropping his large shoulders before he straightened himself more upright and continued to look her directly in the eyes. “In a sense I feel like I am qualified, but that mam’ is your decision not mine.”

Erin pretended to not know who Havardr was for the simple fact that if her manager knew he would pull the interview to a close. No matter who he was, he might be the perfect body guard. He also still was so dreamy. The only reason that Erin had broken up with him was the distance between their colleges. Their lifestyles had changed though, meaning that they had completely drifted apart. It seemed as if Erin didn't really talk to anyone these days, she was constantly in different places and in different time zones. She listened intently to what Havardr was saying to her. She found it interesting, and he did seem perfect for the job. She would continue to question him though as to make sure.

Erin nodded "and how do you feel that you would adjust to travelling to different countries and time zones a lot of the time? It isn't the easiest thing to manage with talking to others. You tend to find that you may be distanced from those closest to you due to the different time zones. I'm just going to give you an insight into the situation so that you can get a jist of what you would be experiencing." She said looking at him.

The manager sat in the corner writing notes of the interview thinking that Erin would no doubt want to take a look at them later.

Looking at the man that she had previously broken up with, she realized what she had missed out on. He was really amazing looking and his personality was perfect. He was never the type who would be rough or violent. She had gone from him to a violent thug who only cared for drugs and alcohol. The truth was that her ex husband seemed to only really care about his next dose of the white powder. Once he had received it, he no longer cared and lashed out on Erin in ways Erin had never thought that she would endure.

Harvardr was never one to show aggression or violence towards people, despite his large being. Sadly, a lot of people shy away from his large form and would rather talk to someone else who didn’t look as intimidating. Maybe that’s what would make him so good for the job? As he rested his elbows on his knees and folded his hands together, she watched her closely; surprised that she showed no reaction to who was sitting in front of her. Then again, she was an actress after all.

He never kept up on the lives of those who are famous; his sister, on the other hand, was rather obsessed with it. Not to mention, she was always a fan of Erin even before Erin became famous. She over-active little sister would insist that Erin be invited to all family functions and spend a lot of time with them as a whole. Granted, she never got all the way over to meet his parents in Norway but all the same, his parents knew who she was and really liked her. His sister always blamed their colleges for breaking them up and as far as he hoped, he truly wanted it to be the only thing affecting their relationship.

Because he was out of the loop of social media, he wasn’t aware she had married or was going through a divorce; much less how bad her previous partner was but upon her tan body was an outline for wedding ring on her ring finger. She no longer wore it but it was there. Hopefully it wasn’t too hard on her.

“Traveling?” He repeated with a small chuckle in his voice. “I am originally from Norway and travel back there quite frequently. So adjusting to time zones is something I do rather easily. Aside from that my traveling doesn’t go very far other than around the United States but I’m very open to traveling outside of the United States.” He gave her a soft smile showing his bright white teeth. She was still so beautiful, half of him hated his sister for putting him in this situation, but at the same time; he was thankful to see her again.

Erin smiled "alright. When can you start?" She asked. She was trying very hard to act as if she didn't know him. She still felt so much for him, and her heart was thumping against her ribcage as she looked at him. He was also the best option for the job. She knew he would handle the job well. The others who were interested in it, weren't as strong according to her agent. She knew though that if her agent found out the history, he would immediately end the interview. She would be left with a lower standard body guard and due to the circumstances Erin needed the highest standard possible.

Carlos had put Erin through the worst of circumstances. They had been rough and she was scarred from the situations that she had been in. She had been physically picked up and thrown against a wall. That had been enough for Erin after he had done that, breaking Erin's wrist. She couldn't face the man after that. He hadn't loved her. It had been the money factor. Carlos knew that he had signed a pre-nuptitial agreement. If Erin divorced him he wouldn't get a penny and would be left with anything. If he murdered her though but did it in a way that wasn't suspisious he would be left with a large fortune. Carlos had told Erin during the last attack that that had been his plan. Luckily for her, her agent had popped in with her new script. Otherwise, Erin would be lying in a shallow grave. She had nightmares about the attacks, but she would never tell anyone the true extent of the violence.

Did… did she just say that he had the job? He was going to have work, a good job! As much as he hated to admit it, he was rather broke. Not by his own choice but because he would send most of his money back to his parents in Norway to insure that they lived in a decent life style back on the farm. Norway wasn’t exactly an easy place for people to live in when you live outside the big cities but in his parents’ case, the extra money is incredibly useful. Havardr still had a place, food and bills paid but he lived in a rather basic place.

A smile moved across his face as he took a moment to watch her and nodded in agreement. “I’m packed for a week already, but my home is in Idaho. I don’t know if I’m expected to have a home base or if I should just tell everything and be on the move all the time?”

“No no my boy.” The manager said next to him with a grin. “We’ll set you up with a house here in the Bahamas instead. You will live near Ms. Edwards.”

“Oh, okay.” He said with a smile. Then he looked back at Erin, “Is there anything else you need from me?”

Erin nodded "yeah, can I just get my manager to take a picture of you for identity purposes? And my manager will just need to complete a security check with you. Once the check has come through clear and we have sorted the house out for you, you will be able to help you." Erin told him. She knew that he was her ex and she would explain why she had behaved the way that she had been behaving once he started the job, when her manager wasn't about. The manager handed Harvardr the paperwork to complete for the security clearance. It was pretty much just his contact details and some basic details. He got ready to take the Identity picture while he awaited him completing the security clearance.

It wasn’t long before Havardr awkwardly filling out paperwork on a coffee table that is a bit too short for him. It took him a bit to complete it but he finally did, mainly because the positioning on the table was awkward. But he finished the paperwork and they both stood up. “So I shall take Mister Bye down to the police station and get his fingerprints ran for the background check then we’ll be back shortly.” With that the two men left, Havardr following him out, just before they left, he looked over his shoulder; gave her a small wave and ducked down to miss the door frame and left with the manager.

After getting the fingerprints ran, the manager informed him it would take a few hours before they could return back to the house so Havardr began to stroll the streets of the little market around the downtown area by himself. It was a beautiful place, there was no denying that. But at the same time, his mind was racing; was this really a good idea….

Erin listened to everything going on with regards to the application process of a body guard. She would have never imagined that said body guard would indeed be the man that it was. Harvardr had a vast history both romantically and friendship with Erin. They had grown up together, and then been together throughout their Senior Year. It had only been the distances between the Colleges that had pulled the curtain over their romance. A 6 hour distance had been far too deep to defeat and had pulled an end over their time. With that she had moved into a very toxicated relationship. That was her history of relationships, and realistically she wanted to keep it that way. There was no way she could imagine herself allowing another man in for the rest of her life.

Once they were gone Erin returned to studying her Lines in great deal trying to wrap her head around this characters words, her character, the way that she behaved and her mannerisms. It was only through knowing all of these things that Erin would be able to portray a full bodied character bringing her to life for the audience. Erin had a talent of being a good actress, but it was through her getting an indepth knowledge about the characters that she was required to portray that she managed to do so.

After doing a little research Erin decided to take a trip into the market town. She wanted to get some fresh produce to make her dinner. Erin loved cooking and wasn't the type of celebrity to have a Chef. She had a stylist for important events, a cleaner, a pool guy and a beautician. That was her lot. She did have a catering company come in if she was expecting company, but that was different. She called her driver who drove her into town. She walked through the town picking up various items.

It was there that she bumped into Harvardr. She looked at him. "Hello there stranger." She looked at him with a soft smile. "I have some things that I should probably explain." She told him knowing that he would no doubt want to know why she had acted as if he was a stranger. She had her reasons, but they weren't obvious.

Havardr spent a lot of his free time walking around the market checking out the local goods. Unlike Norway, this place had a lot more to offer which just made it all the more fun. Some nice fruit and vegetables with fresh seasonings and all things considered, it was really nice. Obviously the locals were not expecting someone as large s him to walk around in their city but they got a gentle smile and a head nod from him as he passed them.

Soon, as things happened to settle down, he turned his gaze to find the one and only Erin walking to him. Upon her comment he couldn’t help but laugh. “You do have some things to explain. But first I would like a hello hug.” He said extending out his large arms to her to welcome her in with a hug. What? They were friends after all.

Erin smiled, giving him a big bear hug. They had grown up together, and she was sure that they could be friends. "Do you have the time to grab a coffee? I know this quaint little cafe which does really nice homegrown coffee and cold beverages too? I'll explain everything that I couldn't with my manager within ear shot." She smiled as she looked up at the big, friendly giant in front of her. Unlike a lot of the male population he was a kind, gentle man who pretty much nobody had a bad word to say about. There hadn't been a man since him where her family couldn't find a single fault, or bad word to say. There had been about a million and one bad words from the word go when concerned about Carlos. Erin had still married him, mostly due to fear. Not that she would ever admit that. Heck, most celebrities went through frequent divorces anyway like the change in the weather.

It felt nice to hug her again, he really missed her and she meant a lot to him way back then… and even now. But it was very nice to see her again. They were good friends and that’s when they started dating because it really came down to them developing feelings for each other after spending so much time with one another. A grin moved across his scruffy face as he hugged her tightly before letting her go. “Coffee sounds great.” He said with a grin before they started towards the coffee shop.

“I’m sorry you got put into this situation Erin, it was all Annabelle’s idea. Which I’m sure she says hi, by the way. She really misses you…” And so did he but this didn’t seem like the proper time to admit such a thing. His large hands slid into the pockets of his shorts as they began to walk. “She recommended I apply for the job. She said I was getting stiff and boring. Can you believe that? Me of all people?” He said in a fake offended voice with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. God it was good to see her again.

Erin laughed "no, no don't appologize. Given the reason why I need a bodyguard in the first place it's really nice for me to have someone that I know as my body guard. I just couldn't disclose this issue with my manager. He wouldn't want someone with a history like we have to be providing care for me. I went through a domestic violence relationship. He's trying to protect me from any further harm. For that reason I think he would have went for someone outside of my trust zone. That's the reason that I pretended that I didn't know you." She explained. "I refuse to believe that you're living a boring life though, I'm really excited for you to be able to fill me in on everything." She said with a grin.

Upon her explanation of why she pretended like she didn’t know him, he nodded; coming to the understanding, finally. But hearing that she was dealing with domestic violence, he did his best not to show any angry reaction; though his hands did ball up into disapproving fists in his pockets. Attention locked head, he mentally claimed himself down before looking back at her. “Sadly enough, my life is incredibly boring. Aside from returning to Norway every once and a while I’ve just been doing construction work until now.” His large shoulders rose and fell with a shrug before he looked back at her.

His hands stretched out in offering for the basket. “Do you want me to carry the basket for you? You could finish up your shopping then we can get some coffee.”

Erin smiled "oh, that's okay. I can manage." She wandered through the market gathering things to make her dinner from the various sellers. Erin loved the variety of the market and that everything was really fresh. "I'm currently learning the lines for a movie before I start the rehersing and filming. I should soon be travelling to Iceland for the movie. I hope you won't mind that." She told him as they explored the market together. She was taking in the market feeling safer now with someone by her side.
