"Sounds great! I won't take up any more of your time, we have a lot of preparing to do, because things are looking pretty ugly ahead. Again, I really appreciate the both of you agreeing to help the Patrol! I'll come find you if we need a hand," Trunks waved at the two recruits as they headed back toward the gate at the end of the Time Nest. The moment they looked away, his smile would turn into a look of concern. Usually when new blood worth mentioning joined the Time Patrol, they'd face one of the Elites' own tests, and not by choice. Trunks thought perhaps he should warn them, but.. Glacia never went as far as to kill anyone. At least, none that he'd heard of.

-----

Blaze would stroll along beside Izaroth, keeping her mind clear of questions for the moment. They were going to train together, and become warriors together - that much is all she needed to focus on.

"I guess if we both have our speciality, we should find balance like you said. You learn to control energy output better, I learn to.. uh.. work out, hit harder and faster, concentrate in a close-up fight! Oh, and there's the fact that I'm not used to people trying to hit me. Or kill me, for that matter!"

"I don't think you should ever go searching for a fight, but you should always be prepared for one. Trouble strikes when you least expect it to afterall." Izaroth said, seeming a little relaxed now, but he was still in unfamiliar territory, and that was making him feel uneasy.

"Also, the first thing you're looking to learn from me for is pain tolerance. No sense being able to dole out the hurt if you can't take it." Izaroth said, and would quickly speak up again before Blaze jumped to conclusions.

"But before we get to any of that, I'm gonna show you how to avoid damage outright, close in on your target, or put some distance between you. I refer to it as the 'Vanish' technique, since that's basically what it does; For about a split-second, you move faster than the naked eye can track. Repeated use doesn't do your stamina any favours however, and I doubt you've done much in the way of endurance training yet, so don't overuse it." Izaroth said, giving Blaze a reassuring nod.

"Going back to the previous subject, I view pain as a barrier; Pain makes your brain say you can't do something. You need to have the mental fortitude to tell it to shut the **** up. If you can push past pain, you can break your previous limits."

"I guess that makes sense. You exercise, and hurt because you're actually pushing yourself. Probably works the same way with pain threshold! But I'm really not looking forward to whatever pain we're putting me through." Blaze said nonchalantly as they stepped through the liquid-textured gate. Instead of appearing in Toki Toki City, they had been instantly moved to the 'training island'. As they arrived, a barrier formed in a dome shape over the island. There was one particular thing that could be sensed without fail in here: someone's ki, and a lot of ki at that.

The figure was Frieza-clan, he was tall and had a white body with crystalline blue 'orbs' on his joint areas, like all of them possessed when transformed. His eyes were a beady, menacing red. He could take them both in Form 1 quite easily, but it didn't matter seeing as he could just tone down power output. Limiting his power for the moment, Glacia raised a finger and spoke as the two entered.

"Blaze Tsila, Izaroth Aestorm, just how powerful do you think you have to be to survive in this line of work? How many would-be Time Patrol members do you think don't return from mission one, because they overestimate themselves? Izaroth - you're smart I take it, you know the score here. The girl however doesn't know anything about fighting - she's weak, but prideful. She'll drag you down, if you aren't already outmatched in the first place by your enemies."

Blaze found herself hiding behind Izzy as soon as the weird alien freak started to speak. He sounded so cold and calculating! Forget the fact that he seemed hostile, he was toning his high power level down, and that could only mean one thing, right?!

"Izzy.. Do you think we should.. step back through the-"

Blaze's sheepish voice was interrupted by the sound of an explosion behind them, three blasts impacting with the gates structure and causing it to fail and crumble, leaving only the barrier in it's place. It was instantaneous. This man was dangerous.

"N-Never mind! Back ain't an option anymore!" Blaze laughed nervously.

"Blaze, take deep breaths, count to ten, and try to calm yourself down. If you can't keep your cool, then you won't last long in a fight." Izaroth said to Blaze after her nervous laughing subsided, before turning his attention to the Frieza clansman before him.

"I don't know if I'm cut out for this job, in all honesty, but the only real alternative is wandering the cosmos aimlessly as I've been doing ever since I built my ship from scratch." Izaroth said, before simply cracking his knuckles in preparation for a fight.

"A fight is inevitable now. But I need to stall for time until Blaze gets a hold of herself." Izaroth thought to himself, before glancing towards Blaze, then back to the Frieza clansman.

"As for her, you might see her as dead weight, but there's no telling how she might grow as a fighter. Without the proper instruction though, like you said, she'll drag me down. Common occurance of potential warriors raised in peacetime. Hence why I'd sooner prefer to show her the ropes before we go into a real fight, but you just effectively screwed that idea over." Izaroth said, keeping his gaze fixed on their would-be opponent.

"Of all the people the Dragon could have summoned, it chose us. I don't know why it picked us specifically, but my guess is Trunks wanted a warrior duo able to foster growth in the other and work as a team flawlessly. I know that's a long shot, but we won't know if the Dragon's judgement was correct or not until we've had time to prove it right or wrong." He said, bracing himself, as he knew the Frieza clansman could choose to go on the offensive at any time.

"I'm fully aware I don't stand a fighting chance against you if you went all out. I only really use my Scouter to get a basic reading on my opponent's power level so I know the benchmark power they're working with. I didn't even need it to feel the immense Ki coming from you before you restrained it, which means even in that state, this is going to be a hard fight for us." Izaroth said, before looking at Blaze.

"...Stay close to me, Blaze. Gonna be honest, this could get ugly, fast. Guess those first lessons will have to wait."

Without another word, the Frieza clansman had vanished and appeared hovering behind Blaze, swiping a heavy kick at her side. She hadn't had time to learn that technique Izzy was going to teach her, but she'd had the time to pull herself together and quickly rolled out of the way, narrowly avoiding a blow that could have easily smashed her ribs. This left Glacia flying behind Izaroth, that same leg was pulled back in aimed at Izaroth to try the same swing attack against the 'human' as the alien kept his momentum.

Blaze came out of the escape roll standing and prepared to blast Glacia, but given how quickly he was moving, the shot could quite easily end up hitting Izzy. She couldn't, and wouldn't, risk it.

Doesn't matter how hard he hits, that's too fast for me anyway!

In order to gain some range, Blaze flew backwards and let her partner handle this himself, at least until she had an opening. But was it really safe to stray away from him? She was running on instinct, ...and yet again, her heart started to race. Just like in the test with Trunks, some part of her was enjoying this feeling!

Naturally, the element of suprise had been lost the minute Glacia had attempted to attack Blaze, so Izaroth made sure to give him a taste of his own medicine as he span on his heel, intercepting the leg in mid swing before throwing him away from the two of them, though doing so dislocated his right shoulder, the arm that had stopped the kick, forcing him to switch arms to throw Glacia, the dislocated arm hanging limply at his side.

"Just as I thought, he's strong, alright." He thought to himself, prior to vanishing, reappearing besides Blaze, gripping his right shoulder with his left hand, and forcing the bone back into place, a pained expression on his face as he did so.

"...Never gets any easier." He said as he flexed his arm.

"If you have a shot, take it. Don't worry about me. But don't stray too far; Given you're the least experienced of us, he'll likely be gunning for you above all else."

"But I'm the least of his worries!" Blaze exclaimed as a pulse was felt through the air. Glacia had recovered and made a shockwave he'd flown so quickly. The red aura of power approached at a ridiculous pace, but it was good - he wasn't even bothering to zig or zag, or fly up or down... Noting that,

"Eat this!" Blaze yelled, firing a two-handed blast attack at the incoming enemy. It was a stream, not a projectile, so it could hurt him more if he went head-on into it. But... He did in fact fly straight into the ki stream, and he flew unscathed through it until he emerged on the other end, a fist raised and ready to strike at the caster as her focus vanished. It was impossible to even think about a victory here!

Glacia threw the punch, and all Blaze could do was shut her eyes tight and wait for the pain.

Something would hit Blaze and subsequently knock her to the ground, but the overall surface area was significantly larger than a fist, and wasn't coming at her with as much force. Upon opening her eyes, she'd see Izaroth stood in front of her, having intercepted the punch with his left hand to shield Blaze in her stead, his back being what had floored her from the recoil... Though the force of it had cracked the bone in his left arm, but he wasn't going to let that slow him down as he responded in kind with a punch from his right, aimed directly at Glacia's face. Whether it hit or missed, he'd take Blaze and vanish away, reappearing away from Glacias.

"This isn't going to work. We're just not ready to fight an opponent of this caliber yet. I'll try and take as many hits as I can for you, but the more damage I take, the more likely it is he's going to hit you in the long run." Izaroth said to Blaze, uncertainty present on his voice.

"I think he was able to dispel your Ki blast there because his own ki currently exceeds yours, and my scouter's reporting a fracture in the arm I used to stop the punch, so he physically outclasses me as well. Long story short, we're leaving here on stretchers at best, and in body bags at worst."

"Trunks wouldn't let someone kill us... At least, I hope not!" Blaze said. Earlier, Glacia had made a simple, fast tilt of his head to avoid being punched before breaking contact with the two. Now he stood about thirty meters away, staring them both down.

Tougher than he looks... And she's faster than I thought she would be. But that won't save them in a real battle. Where is this 'teamwork' they should be displaying?

"Fight me seriously now. Stop giving me such a defeatist look," Glacia raised his voice. As he lifted his finger, ki could be felt radiating more powerfully from him once again. A single large beam launched towards Izaroth & Blaze, its intention to take them both out in the one blast.

"Flank n' shoot him!" Blaze suddenly manned.. uh.. woman'd up(?) and commanded, flying left and charging up the most powerful attack she could. Once in position, she tossed a bright yellow spherical ki blast at Glacia, surprising for someone so lacking in training and skill.

"...Won't be needing this then. It's dead weight at the moment." Izaroth said to himself as Blaze flew into position, before he discarded his trenchcoat-like Gi completely, throwing it to one side, a black vest being what he was wearing underneath, and the Gi itself hit the ground hard enough to kick up a small dust cloud, suggesting it weighed more than first glance would have you believe. Within seconds of doing that, Izaroth then darted over with previously unseen speed towards the blast Blaze had fired, leaping up from behind it, before giving it a bit more oomph by firing a blast of his own into it, before zipping around to attempt to strike Glacia in the back and hopefully knock him flying into the blast itself, darting away afterwards to charge up a larger Ki blast. It wasn't the vanish technique, but just pure speed.

"Not usually my MO, but it'll have to do, since close quarters'll only do me more harm in the long run. Just hope it doesn't blow up in my face." Izaroth thought to himself, before unleashing the blast at the Frieza clansman. Unlike Blaze, who could probably fire off blasts like that every second, Izaroth needed a bit more time to charge a blast that size without it being unstable, mostly due to lack of practice if anything. A flaw he had no doubt Glacia would catch onto before long.

"At this point, victory isn't going to happen, so we'll just have to settle for actually damaging him."

Glacia had apparently no time to get himself out of the ki blasts, and thanks to him being smashed into the first one, there looked to be little chance he could continue fighting! Surely that attack could bring down even this monster, no? The dust began to settle, revealing Glacia very much intact and unfazed after the barrage - had he even blinked since the battle started...?

"I must say.. if you're going to keep using teamwork like that, you may survive yet. But the lesson is this...!" Glacia interrupted himself and suddenly darted off to Blaze as she let her guard down, believing their success to have been positive, and that it worked toward not having to carry on. Glacia however made it clear: this wasn't about how well they could work together, he was testing each of them. Wasting no time, a fist like diamond was sunk into Blaze's gut, making her pass out instantly. Glacia made no attempt to catch her, and let the limp form plummet to the ground.

"Without the child interfering, I can see what you're made of, Izaroth." Glacia stated, remaining in place as the human runt continued to fall.

"...Hoo boy... This is gonna hurt." Izaroth said, waiting for Glacia to cast the first stone.

"At this point, victory is out the window. Now it's down to a case of "How long can I last before he hospitalizes me?", which I wager is about five, ten minutes tops." Izaroth thought to himself as he took a deep breath to calm himself.

"Push comes to shove, I just might have to get mad. At the very least though, the time for holding back is gone." Izaroth said, checking over his left arm, making sure he could actually use it, before locking his gaze back at Glacia.

"Saiyan endurance, don't fail me now."

Within a split second of Izaroth's train of thought coming to a halt, the Frieza-raceman had vanished and reappeared directly in front of him, as opposed to speeding around behind him - he was going to win, he didn't care if he took a hit or two along the way, he just needed to see exactly what the margin between Elite and Rookie was at this stage. This young warrior could be stronger than he looked, but Glacia's doubt of the girl's power being anything significant was solid. If she was really immersed in the battle, she would've lasted longer...

Glacia's only attack was thrusting a powerful knee at the human's ribs, his icy gaze following his opponents.

-----

Contrary to Glacia's belief, a good fifty meters away from the continued battle a shaking Blaze brought herself back up. Too wobbly to stand, she watched as the ugly alien started his fight with Izaroth personally.

'Oh crap, I'm tearing up.. But that really hurt..! S-So it's fine.. Right?' she thought, rubbing her sleeve against her eyes and trying to stand. How she managed to get up so fast intrigued the small number of spectators outside the shield. Either she was more ready for the attack than Glacia thought, or she was 'made' to take a hit...

Naturally, Izaroth only had a split second to react, and try as he might, he could only partially block the blow, the force of it knocking him off balance momentarily, but he promptly reasserted his balance before responding in kind with a powerful knee to the face. Whether or not it actually did any damage was another matter, but Izaroth wasn't going to stop there.

"Victory might be out my reach, but there's nothing there to say I can't give him a concussion!" Izaroth thought to himself as he grabbed hold of Glacia's shoulders, before raising one leg up high and slamming it down hard atop his head.

Having apparently foreseen a counter coming, Glacia flew back to avoid getting a knee smashed in his face. Izaroth's endurance proved to be a real feat after all, and the Frieza raceman was surprised to find the man charging at him with such tenacity. He was gripped by the shoulders, and in no time at all the enemy was above him, swinging a powerful kick down that sent Glacia crashing into the floor. He quickly recovered despite the pained look on his face, and flew away from his opponent whilst firing spherical red ki blasts from his hands like a machine gun.

"Interesting speed, strength and willpower... He's got potential," Glacia spoke calmly to himself as he continued to shoot. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed his knock-out punch hadn't exactly put Blaze on the floor. What was up with that?

Izaroth naturally went on the evasive to avoid the oncoming Ki Blasts, thinking to himself all the while. Sure he could deflect them, but he'd need to use both hands, and given he's already taken a bit of a trouncing, he'd tire out before long.

"Only got one final trump card to play. Let's hope I'm not downed before I get the chance to use it..." Upon having completed his little internal debate, he then purposely held one arm out as he continued his evasion, swirling it in small circles repeatedly. To those who didn't know better, he'd just seem like he'd snapped, but he was definately up to something.

"Everything's riding on this tornado. Just hope he doesn't catch on."

'Is he.. charging a blast attack? Not going to let him fire it!' Glacia quickly responded, ceasing fire and charging at Izaroth relentlessly. But before he could reach the silver-haired man, a bright yellow blast flew in front of him, halting the Frieza raceman in his tracks. He didn't waste any time targeting the one who'd fired. Blaze wasn't staying down... Gradually the two were impressing him, to the point where he considered only breaking a few bones when he caught up. Speaking of...!

The moment Glacia reached Blaze, he fired a powerful punch at her face. Surprisingly, she flew backward to dodge it, then dashed forward again swinging a kick at the mean alien's head. He raised his arm to guard against it. Blaze flew around him, trying to dropkick him heel-first from above. For a short moment there, she was completely immersed, no more hesitation or worry for getting hurt. That worry only returned when her leg was grabbed by Glacia.

"I GIVE-!" Blaze tried to surrender, but was smashed into the ground leaving a cracked surface from the impact. Bouncing from the impact, Glacia followed up while she was in mid-air with a straight kick to the ribs, making her scream, smashing them and sending the girl hurtling across the ground. When she stopped rolling, she was in a tangled heap and sobbing quietly. Moving would only be more painful now!

"That was.. so mean..! You're a jerk...!" Blaze tearfully remarked, ...but the pained smirk she showed after that told Glacia what exactly this was. ...Izaroth would've had time to prepare his attack! Turning and flying straight for his new opponent, Glacia boosted his speed to try and reach him before the tornado could be launched...!

Izaroth naturally had been bought all the time he needed, and with a thumbs up from his free hand to let Blaze know his appreciation, he slammed the arm he was readying the tornado with onto the ground right at the last moment, the motion likely taking Glacias by suprise as he was probably expecting a Ki Blast in lieu of a hurricane.

Taking a second to take a deep breath, Izaroth then leapt into the tornado himself.

'Oh, hell...' thought Glacia. He flew straight into this, underestimating his opponents. Izaroth surviving this long and demonstrating a special technique, and the girl proving to be more resilient and skilful than he'd assumed. Their willingness to sacrifice for each other when it counted was admirable, too... Glacia almost felt regret over breaking the kid's ribs when he thought about these positive outcomes. But~ he could dwell on that further once the beatdown was over. If he was still in a good mood, anyways!

Meanwhile, the barrier had shut down. A few Time Patrollers flew over to Blaze and checked over her injuries, but soon found themselves staring at the tornado fired by Izaroth at the same time, unsure of what was happening inside. Thankfully one of the Patrollers had some capsuled senzu essence, and made sure the redhead inhaled it. It wouldn't act as quickly as a senzu bean, but she'd slowly heal back to full strength over a few minutes.

...One particular member of the Patrol flew around the tornado methodically, watching for developments with keen interest in her bright magenta eyes. That freakish orange Majin again. Her expression seemed much like a cats, ready to pounce her prey.

The sound of blows, coupled with the sight of something zipping out of the tornado at varying angles, circling around, ascending or descending, depending on the angle, before zooming back in prior to the next blow indicated that the fight was not over yet... Up until the tornado dissipated after several minutes.

Izaroth floated opposite from Glacia, the sudden barrage of blows he'd dished out while Glacias was otherwise immobilized inside the Tornado's winds as well as having not only created the tornado and making sure he didn't get caught within it himself, coupled with his prior injuries having taken a toll on his stamina, and it was showing in the rate of his breathing. At this point, if Glacias hadn't been taken down, there was no chance in hell Izaroth would be able to muster any further might.
