the Nusoa District was barely worth mentioning, its mostly rural population numbering barely a thousand. As an outlying district sticking out of the eastern portion of Wall Maria, it was the most isolated one could be from the rest of humanity without leaving the walls entirely. This made it the dumping ground of the military: Reformers, scoundrels, embarrassments, and the incorruptible, all were sent to garrison the district, seen as a post where they could be forgotten.
Five years ago,
the Colossal Titan appeared and breached the Shiganshina district, precipitating the loss of all lands beyond Wall Rosa. The trauma scarred the remainder of humanity, as hundreds of thousands fled the outlying districts for the safety of Rosa.
Five years ago,
the gates of the Nusoa District slammed shut. The reports of the Survey Corps indicate that they are closed still; that is all that is known. In the absence of facts, wild legends have sprung into existence concerning the lost District: that its people live still as they have for centuries, having built an island of humanity in a sea of titans; that without the guiding hand of the Crown, anarchy ensued, and her massacred each other; that the gates were shut too late, or that the colossal titan appeared to breach Maria there too, and that the district is a cage filled with titans.
This is the story of the Lost District, of the trials and suffering, of the endurance, of the people of Nusoa.
Name: Age: Gender: Description: At least a paragraph for both personality and appearance. You're welcome to include a picture, but please put it in a hider. Rank and Duties: For those in the Garrison Regiment. Note that the ranks are Private, for common soldiers, and Captain, for the leaders of squads (of which there are 3 in Nusoa). Given that there are only 20-ish soldiers stationed in the district, most of them have specific duties as well, such as mechanic, cook, supply management, maintenance, and so on, so if you have a special responsibility mention it here as well. Profession: For those who aren't in the regiment. Note that the dominant professions in Nusoa are farmers and lumberjacks; there are also some shops, but many. Biography: Pretty self explanatory, explain the life of your character up to this point. Those in the army should also include how they got stationed in the Nusoa District in the first place (which, as I've mentioned before, is a punishment).
Name: Eleanor Kant
Age: 42
Gender: Female
Description: Eleanor is hard, hard as rock. Anyone who sees her can tell: Somewhat stout, her face chiseled in a perpetual frown, she gives off an aura of intimidation. Towering over others, she is a foot taller than many men. She is, if not ugly, anything but beautiful, though such things are of no concern to her in any case.
Eleanor often comes across as cold, devoid of empathy or compassion. This is not quite true: she values others highly, but her guiding philosophy is pragmatism, and she aims to always achieve results. Years in command have dispelled her doubts, and she rarely hesitates or regrets decisions. Personally, she is quite bitter, jaded by the rampant corruption which cost her her budding career in the army.
Rank and Duties: Sub-Commander of the Garrison Regiment, Governor of the Nusoa Disrict.
Biography: Eleanor Kant was born in a town within Wall Sina, to a family of wealthy merchants. A robust child, fascinated with the military drill and parades, few who knew her had any doubt as to what occupation she would chose. Enlisting at fourteen, and graduating into the Garrison Regiment at nineteen, her almost fanatical enthusiasm was noted by her superiors, and she rose quickly. At twenty-six, she was a captain, and at thirty-one, a Sub-Commander.
Her devotion to duty was a double edged sword, however. She proved incorruptible, a major annoyance for the utterly corrupt regiment of the day. To get her out of the way, she was assigned to the isolated Nusoa District, on the very fringe of human territory, to manage the motley collection of drunks, criminals, and subversives sent there for the same reason.
Though she knows her work is almost certainly pointless and hopeless, she has since then thrown herself into her role as governor of the district with as much gusto as she can manage. Her zeal in disciplining her men and keeping them to high standards has not made her popular among them, to say the least. But none can question that her administration is efficient, and that the small garrison is more ready than any other along Wall Maria.
Name: Andrew Mannaugh
Age: 49
Gender: Male
Description: Gaunt and willowy, Captain Mannaugh is hardly what one would expect of the feared military police. Though once one of the best and brightest of his regiment, he has fallen on hard times since, his eyes sunken, his hair grey and balding. That he is almost always drunk does not help his image.
There is very little that he takes seriously. It was this indiscipline- and his rampant alcoholism- which landed him in the Nusoa District, and which have made him the bane of Sub-Commander Kant. But under his carousing demeanor, he is deeply depressed. His dreams are haunted of the horrors he has committed in the name of loyalty to the Crown.
Profession: Captain of the Military Police, Nusoa Liaison
Biography: Andrew grew up in crushing poverty, in the slums of the unremarkable city of Ketchenner. The military was, as with many others of his birth, his only hope at raising himself in society. Luckily for him, he proved remarkably talented, quick, and with just the right dash of ambition. When he finished at the top of his class, he did not hesitate for a moment to join the Military Police.
He was, in many ways, the perfect recruit for the Military Police, his willingness to do whatever necessary to accomplish his tasks noted by his superiors. He was a rising star in the regiment. As he rose in the ranks, he was given responsibilities of ever moreā¦ ethical difficulty. He does not speak about exactly what he did for the Crown, nor does anyone dare ask.
But his work caught up to him. As he aged, the stress began to wear him down, and he grew haunted by the memories. To stay sane, he began drinking; what began as a personal predilection soon became a very public alcoholism, and his drunkenness made him the butt of jokes among the Military Police.
Eventually, there was an incident- nobody knows what- that convinced his superiors he was more trouble than he was worth. He was sent to the Nusoa District as liaison for the Police. There, he handles justice, oversees the administration, and secretly watches for any seditious behavior, among either the populace or the Garrison Regiment.
So, the basic idea is an RP where we play as inhabitants of the Nusoa District, cut off from the rest of humankind. It would start the day of the fall of Shingashina. Those who don't know Attack on Titan- either of you- are free to join as well, as there should be fairly limited spoilers (at least, beyond the foregone conclusion that the wall falls).
