His nerves were shot as blades connected repeatedly in the most heated stale mate possible. Both this young man and his brother fought for countless days for two reasons, one believed ferociously that ideals should overcome truth while the of other would have nothing of it making the two unrivalled swordsman fight. As night fell the other brother who held ideals had struck down his kin just as the gods spewed lightning from the darkness above.
As the blood met Remias's flesh he realized that he had slain his brother like a Ghoul would kill it's human brothers after it had gained it's unholy powers of sensory and cunning along with fleshly blades to rend them before devouring their corpse. Ghouls where men with timeless bodies and a lust for flesh which not even a pack of starved wolves could compare to. Remias had committed the worst taboo possible in the realm of Ayrex the slaying of your closest ally or current loved one. That is how Ghouls are created, swiftly the gods struck him with a lust and insatiable greed for consumption.
Remias would hold his gut as his teeth sharpened as his skin gained a laced coat of living steel making a normal man's blade naught but useless against his flesh. Carrying this new curse which burdened him he walked away from the hill his brother laid to rest and set off towards the forest still so in shock he knew little of what actually happened to himself.
Every step into the woods seemed to shatter twigs under his feet causing a defined endless echo to induce the hunger building in his jaws and throat. The wind howled against him as he couldn't understand what plagued him. Remias felt his body change as eyes now viewed the darkness as a haven for feasting apon prey... what exactly held the meaning of prey is what instantly struck his conscious.
