So, this idea came up while thinking about Kamen Rider Ghost (so the RPG's sort of based off that, but not).
The idea is that the RPG's a partner-based RPG (one player plays a person while another plays their super-powered partner), sort of like the Fate RPs or even Doll Hunters if anyone played that. The twist is that the latter plays ghosts of historical figures. And not necessarily heroes. More like luminaries.
My basic premise is that there are ghosts called Juons who are spirits so warped by revenge, grief, and other such emotions that they become themselves embodiments of suffering and seek only to spread that towards other people. The only beings able to combat them are other spirits, henceforth Ghosts. However, there's an exception. People who have had near-death experiences are able to see and interact with both Ghosts and Juons too, having touched the realm of the dead. These people are called Specters.
From there, some of the kinks need to be ironed out. The words in round brackets will be my idea in progress. These being:
What do the Ghosts and Juons get out of using these Specters? (They're ideal hosts for possession and eventually resurrection)
How is a Juon possessing a Specter [or anyone else] different from a Ghost? (Juon's are parasitic, sucking the hosts dry, whereas Ghosts are symbiotic, giving them powers)
What do Ghosts get out of having a Specter, and vice versa? (The Ghosts provide the Specter protection and even a skill or power they have, while Specters give Ghosts a host that will eventually split off and create a new body for the Ghost, as if it was a reincarnation)
And that's that. I won't be making a signup for a bit for obvious reasons. I'm just casting a line and seeing if anything bites.
