Hello and welcome to [Wonder]Full Hearts interest check. This is to gauge interest in an original rp based in a slightly twisted view of modern life. Big corporations rule a polluted world and gang violence goes on every day. Corrupt police owned by businessmen stop the thugs selling drugs on their ceos turf. Visit the big city of Serendipity and travel from the lofty sky walks near the sun-gleaming buildings full of cracked out corporates sleeping their way to the top, down to the gun and grit packed slums where life is struggle.
But the biggest twist is the rise of a blue moon. Soon it will come to open gates of madness and release something not seen on this earth for centuries- magic. Not the refined, spell slinging, mage making kind- a wilder kind of magic that comes from deep within. There exist beings who have slept for far too long, almost demon like things that are the very essence of human emotion melded in the atheriel plane. They will pick their servants, their champions, human epitomes of that singular possessive feeling. A few strive to stay awake, to fully meld the world with the aether, and rule the chaos that human kind will become among a world of monsters.
Each character can choose to serve or not to serve a certain feeling or emotion. A singular thought that fills the heart. These feelings will be composed of creatures, human like demons that exist in the aether, who will guide and command you, arming you with weapons or artifacts composed of that will.
Hatred, lust, greed, curiosity- the human heart is fathomless. Some will have you spread that feeling, some will have you pursue it to it's fullest meaning, others will put you on a quest to meld the world's, destroy them as you know them and let them rule over it like gods. Some will force their will upon you, strong and unyielding, manipulate you, or even befriend you and help you succeed in life.
The plot begins a day or two before the rise of the blue moon, and its immediate effects may not be realized. As the aether is melded more magic will poor into the world, causing chaos and creating monsters. We've got guns, baseball bats, antique swords, but nothing like lasers or flying cars. You can be poor, rich, lead a corporation, a gang, work at McDonald's or be on a baseball team. You can choose to serve any emotion, either as its full champion or just someone who can use it's power. Some of the Catalysts of the Heart, the demons of feeling, will barely be able to be rejected. Others can simply be put off, it depends how strong the emotion is and if you're its main soldier or not. Some emotions - such as righteousness or the sense of justice, even the contemplation of order, will put you on the alternate path to seal the aether and quiet the Catalysts.
There are plenty of ways to be creative about it- serve greed as the head CEO, be envious and try to find a way to seal the other emotions, be pride and claim you are surely the greatest forces.
Catalysts will choose to give you an item to use, swords, masks, coins- items that can have whatever effect you want, as long as it makes sense. You can choose to play as an emotion and pick another player character as your champion, try to collaborate, or npc your emotion as a champion. I will not tolerate God-modding or power playing however.
