He has rare grey eyes he uses to his advantage when it comes to women. He has the body of someone who exercises, but not overly so. He does so to stay in shape and it works for intimidation purposes as well. He's not very particular about his pants, but you'll usually see him carrying around a black leather jacket. Even if he's not wearing it, it's definitely with him. He has a holster on the side of his hip where he carries an old DC-17 Blaster Pistol from the Clone Wars. The things he found on his job were pretty great, but this happened to be one of the things that he always kept on him.
CharacteristicsPersonalityNorin always had a rebellious attitude. He probably got it from his parents. He didn't really care for authority, but he did what he did to survive. He plays things smart. You may think he's following someone out of respect or fear, but it's just in his best interests at the moment. He's always planning and it comes in handy a lot. He's very protective of the people close to him, but you wouldn't be able to tell that because he tends to keep most at a distance. He'll do anything for them and that could end up being a problem. When he's not level-headed his planning and thinking goes completely out the window.
Norin loves adventure and openly seeks it. It's one of the reasons he's ended up in his position today. He also tries to use humor to ease serious and dangerous situations. It mostly falls flat though. Norin is also the loyal type. If someone helps him or proves to be his friend he's loyal to them. Even if he doesn't necessarily like them or what they stand for. But if they betray him then he'll make sure they get what they deserve. He also doesn't very much care for the Jedi. He doesn't hate them, but he doesn't like them either. He at first believed they were a myth that his parents clung onto for hope. He blames them for the death of his parents and hates that the supposed guardians of peace didn't come together to stop the Empire. He pretty much thinks that they're all a bunch of cowards who didn't use their powers for what it's meant for.
Fears & FlawsLosing Those Close To Him: He claims this to be his only fear, but he's not even sure if that's true. He's seen a lot and this was the only thing that was able to scare him. He lost his parents when he was young, lost his father figure, and now his sister was a slave. His bonds with others just might be his greatest weakness.
Anger and Recklessness: These two go hand in hand. When something happens to the people that he cares about he loses his mind until he's calmed down. He stops thinking and does things that would likely get him killed if others weren't there to bring him down.
Distant: Because Norin is afraid to lose anyone else he tries to not let anyone get close to him. He can put his trust in others and call them acquaintances or friends, but it's hard to get further than that now. He secretly hopes to be able to change that.
Cockiness: When he is thinking straight he's pretty damn cocky. When he comes up with a pretty good plan he starts to think his idea is the best one to use. This cockiness of his also puts him into dangerous situations. Especially when it comes to flying and fighting.
Scoundrel: Despite being trustworthy, people tend to look at him differently just because of his professions. Pirates and smugglers aren't known to be trustworthy and are usually known to be the types to look out for themselves and backstab others. Norin is pretty much the opposite though he'll use the opinion of others to his advantage if he has to. The only way to out-scoundrel a scoundrel is to be the better scoundrel. He can lie with the most sincere smile on his face because of this. People usually can't tell if he's telling the truth or if he's lying and he kind of likes it that way.
TalentsDamn Good Pilot: Norin may be cocky, but he doesn't consider himself the best pilot out there. That was Bal and even if he's dead he still owns that title. Norin wasn't even close to his level. At least that's what he makes himself believe. But he can't be the best pilot without his own ship. He's proven himself as a pretty good pilot though by doing dangerous flying jobs. He loves flying though and probably wouldn't give it up for anything. Even without his own ship he knows pretty much everything about them. He can fix them and make adjustments to them if need be. All he needs is the parts.
Sharpshooter: Norin's pretty good with any type of weapon that fires. Even if he's never used it before after finding out how it works and how to properly use it he'll become a natural with it.
Translator: Norin may not be a protocol droid, but his life working for Jabba allowed him to learn and become fluent in many languages. He can even understand astromech droids.
Fighter: He's nowhere near the best fighter, but he can definitely defend himself and occasionally win fist fights. Living with pirates for a long time forces you to do so. If you weren't fighting each other on ships you were helping each other in bar fights.
HistoryBackstoryNorin's story isn't that of a hero's tale, but some may consider it so. It just certainly didn't start out that way. He's known Tatooine most of his life. When he was ten and his sister was five their parents sent them to Tatooine to live with distant relatives. He just grew up calling them his aunt and uncle. His parents had been working as rebels against the Empire, but at the time they were unofficial. They didn't want to risk any danger coming to their children. You would have thought that they would have picked a safer place than that, but it was really out of the question.
In the next couple of years Norin grew to hate Tatooine. He wanted nothing more than to leave the desert planet. He wanted to take his sister away and find a planet where they could live and prosper without having to moisture farm. Of course he could only dream of doing any of this. At the time he had no skills and he had no ship. He was all talk and no walk. That was until he was fourteen. He was tired of helping out on the moisture farms so he decided to find some sense of adventure on this planet. His search for adventure brought him to Mos Eisley's Cantina where pirates who worked for Jabba the Hutt were looking for more members to join their crew. This is exactly what he was looking for. He wasn't sure if they'd go for a kid who didn't know much, but he was a quick learner. The only thing he worried about was leaving his sister behind. It was actually the thought of his little sister that pushed him to go through with this. This was a way for him to get that better life for them. That is if he had the chance to get out of it without dying.
Norin shadowed the pirates for weeks to learn more about them and find out ways to impress them. He had to join them. Eventually he was found out by one of the pirates. He honestly believed that they knew that he was following them the entire time. He wasn't skilled back then. He was confronted by the only human in their crew. His name was Bal and after looking at him you could tell that he had seen some shit. Even his smile was intimidating. Norin told him why he had been shadowing the pirates and Bal brought him to the others. Some were hesitant, but the others loved that he had guts, potential, and a certain spark. This was the day that everything changed for him.
He spent the next year traveling with the pirates. His first few months was spent mostly being their maid or servant. He mostly cleaned up behind them and wasn't taught anything. The only time he had learned in those months was when he listened in on them while he was cleaning up and taking note of everything that they did. After the third month was over he decided that he had enough with cleaning up after them and learning on his own. He confronted them about it one day and Bal replied with a smug, "It took you long enough." Norin hadn't realized it, but they were testing him the entire time to see if he had what it took. They were going to drop him back off in Tatooine if he had stayed quiet about it.
Bal was left in charge of looking after Norin and making sure he wouldn't be useless extra weight since he was the one who brought him to their attention. Bal started teaching him everything he knew. He was the crew's best pilot so of course that was one of the things that he taught Norin. The rest involved shooting, hand-to-hand fighting, and other things that he needed to know to survive not only as a pirate, but as someone living in the Empire. The young punk from Tatooine grew into a pretty good pirate in one year. But it was time for them to head back.
He immediately went to see his sister when he got back and he told her about all of his adventures, but of course kept the bad stuff out. She was only ten and he didn't want her to know that her brother wasn't completely good anymore. After spending a good amount of time with her he went back to Mos Eisley. Norin had seen a lot in his year away, but nothing came close to what he saw the day he went back to the Cantina. He didn't realize it at the time, but he witnessed a Jedi cut off the arm of another pirate and smuggler who worked for Jabba. He didn't even bother getting up and watched as the scene continued as the infamous Han Solo shot the Bounty Hunter, Greedo.
Witnessing that pretty much made his day, but he had to leave soon after. He then spent more and more time in space picking up different skills and learning different languages along the way. He heard about the situation with the Death Star and knew that things weren't going to get any better. But he had to keep on moving for his sister. He thought about her every day that he was gone and he wondered what she was up to. He just really hoped that she didn't get into any trouble.
When his sister's eighteenth birthday was coming up he knew that he had to be home and do something great for her. They just had one more job to do and it should have been easy, but it really wasn't. They had to steal from an imperial vessel. They had done jobs like this before so they didn't expect anything of it. Jobs were like these were a way for Jabba and other Hutt Cartels to attack the Empire for messing with their businesses and the villages loyal to them. Things were going well as usual until the Imperials caught up with them. They were fending themselves off against Stormtroopers when Bal was shot right in front of Norin.
This caused Norin to go off and become reckless. He started forgetting the idea of cover and kept shooting. Eventually two other pirates had to hold him back while the others covered for them. They didn't even pick up Bal's body. When they returned home Norin quit and decided to spend the rest of his life on Tatooine with his family, but of course things weren't going well for him. When he got back he found out from his "aunt" and "uncle" that his sister had been taken to Jabba's palace to become one of his slave women. This really angered Norin, but after leaving and killing a few Raiders on his way to the palace he finally calmed down. He knew he couldn't go in there blasters firing. He'd get himself and his sister killed and he really didn't want the latter. He'd have to be smarter about this. He had to get close to Jabba and then kill him. He didn't think about asking the fat guy to let her go. He was sure he didn't know that they were related, but he was also sure that he wouldn't have cared. On top of that the guy wasn't the type to let someone go just because you asked. He'd have to kill his longtime employer. It was very much easier said than done, but he was going to make it happen.
After the death or disappearance of Han Solo about eight years back everyone knew that Jabba was looking for another top-notch smuggler for his spices. There were other smugglers, but none that lived up to what he could do. At least none that worked for him. Norin used this as his way in. He didn't have his own ship, but he was close enough with the pirates for them to let him borrow one for his runs. Their trips usually took a long time anyway.
So for the next two years Norin had been smuggling spices for Jabba even though after hating it once after trying it. He never wanted to experience something like that ever again, but he did understand how others got addicted to it. But this is how he's gotten here. His path of adventure, revenge, and rescue allowed the Imperials to finally catch up to him. His goals in the distance, but a victory for the Empire. A spice smuggler for Jabba who so happened to be one of the pirates that had been causing them trouble was now captured. It was a party for them.
