Three months have passed since the destruction of the Imperial superweapon, the Death Star. Galactic Civil war rages on. The Rebel Alliance is still in the process of finding a new HQ after they were forced to abandon Yavin IV, fearing retribution from the Empire. This means that the Alliance High Command is currently in hiding.
Even so, the Rebellion is currently going through the heaviest period of recruitment in it's history, thanks in no small part to the massive surge of confidence brought about by the victory over the Emprie at the Battle of Yavin. As a result, the Rebellion has seen fit to set up special training camps on Alliance-friendly planets throughout the galaxy and placed their most decorated veterans in charge of training up the next generation of Republic heroes.
At the so-called 'Rebel Academy' on Corellia, a shuttle prepares to touch down carrying the newest batch of recruits...
The Rules
-The GM's word is law. If the GM appoints anyone to be his second, Co-GM, Vice-GM or whatever, their word is considered law too unless over-ruled by the GM.
-Posts will contain no less than a full paragraph of text (minimum three sentences) except in circumstances where quick responses are required (combat scenarios, etc). As a rule of thumb, there should be no less than two posts by other players separating any two of your own posts. Anyone believed to be posting too much and unnecessarily will be spoken with. This is not a Free RP.
-Players are required to have a firm grasp of the written English language. This means the correct use of capital letters, full-stops, speech marks, etc. I'm not going to tell people off for misplacing a semi-colon, but I will get narky if basic grammar isn't adhered to.
-Players are free to debate the finer points of the goings on, both in and out of character, but anyone perceived to be bullying, flaming, shit-stirring or in any other way causing unnecessary drama, I will strap on my GM leg brace, open up a can of whoopass and start stomping mudholes in them. And that's the bottom line!
-A small level of gore is to be expected in an RP about soldiers going off to war. That said, unnecessarily graphic, brutal or upsetting levels of description about said gore will result in me being severely weirded-out. Additionally, romance is allowed (because, you know, why else would you join the Rebel Alliance if not for the hot alien babes?) but anything further than kissing will need to take place either in PMs or through some other medium, not in the thread. Get your jollies in your own time, people!

Name: Captain Zyrell Nalto
Age: 37
Species: Human
Planet of Origin: Alderaan
Prior Occupation: Imperial Navy Officer
Appearance:
A tall, thin man with a rather gaunt face mostly hidden by a thick black beard. He is rarely seen without either a helmet or a hat of some kind, but in the rare event that he was glimpsed without headgear his dark hair is visibly beginning to thin on top and you might be able to spot the beginnings of a comb-over.
Personality:
Strict but fair, with a tendency towards sarcasm. The men under Nalto's command have rarely felt they had much to complain about once they got over his past affiliations, aside from his strict rules on uniform. The captain prides himself on his standing and his outward appearance to the point that he will meticulously inspect his uniform in the mirror for several minutes at a time, picking off dust and dirt as he finds it. He hasbeen known to get very upset if he is found to be untidy, and especially if anyone were to see him without a hat and point out his balding.
History:
Born on Alderaan to an esteemed noble house, his father Lord Nalto was a devout man of the Empire and a firm supporter of Palpatine's reign. When Zyrell came of age, he was immediately packed off the Imperial Navy Academy where he was put through officer training and eventually given the rank of Ensign on the Victory-class Star Destroyer Illustrious. Ten years later he was on the brink of being promoted to captain of his own ship, having been called to the Empire's new moon-sized base of operations for a promotion ceremony. It was here that he witnessed firsthand the destruction of his homeworld and resultant murder of his entire family.
Despite the rage and sorrow that boiled within him, Zyrell continued with the promotion ceremony. He forced a smile as he accepted the new ranking pin. He forced himself to shake the hand of the Grand Moff, on whose orders his planet had been vapourised. He even managed to salute and sing along to the national anthem of the Empire which he now despised. He did all these things because the entire time he was planning his defection to the Rebel Alliance, and he smiled as he imagined the look on the Grand Moff's face if his plan came together.
Taking command of his new ship, the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Dominator, Captain Nalto began to attempt contact with the Rebellion and discuss plans for a defection - intending to bring his new ship along as a gift. The possibility of stealing an Imperial battleship proved too great a temptation to pass up, and sure enough he barely had to wait a day before contact was established and the plans were made. Nalto leaked course information to the Rebel fleet allowing the Dominator to be ambushed above Malastare. He ordered the crew to surrender and was taken aboard the flagship of the Rebel fleet, shaking hands personally with Admiral Ackbar and turning his ship over to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. At Zyrell's insistence, the Dominator was renamed Alderaan's Revenge and after a short refit was pressed immediately into service in the Rebel fleet.
Less than a week later, Zyrell was on his way to Yavin with the rest of the fleet when he heard the news of the destruction of the Death Star and the death of the Grand Moff, news which brought a smile to his face. They arrived in the system in time to help with the evacuation of Yavin IV. Despite having proved himself a valuable ally to the Alliance, the High Command were concerned with having one of their greatest military assetts in the hands of a recent defectee. As such, Zyrell was removed as commander of the Alderaan's Revenge and sent to Corellia to prove himself training new recruits for service.

Trandoshan
</Gender>
[X] Male -- [ ] Female -- [ ] Other
</Planet of Origin>
Trandosha
</Prior Occupation>
Big-Game Hunter, Slaver (Briefly)
</Appearance>
</Personality>
On first impressions, Talen-Jei is fierce, aloof, and reclusive. Slow-to-trust and wary of others, Talen-Jei often appears far more brusque and cynical than he truly is, masking his true nature until someone has earned his trust. Underneath this harsh and calloused exterior, one will never find a stronger, more loyal friend and companion.
Staunchly dependable and honorable, with a strict adherence for tradition, Talen-Jei is deeply religious and respectful to his culture. Devoted to both the Scorekeeper and the Great Hunt, Talen-Jei considers hunting his sole purpose in life; seeking to continually please his goddess with each successful kill. What sets him apart from many Trandoshans, however, is his motivation. Talen-Jei is not driven by sadism or cruelty like many of his species, but instead kills because it is his purpose in this life. As a result, he treats all worthy opponents - be they man or beast - with respect, granting them a swift warrior's death.
Honest and open-faced to a fault, Talen-Jei despises subterfuge and manipulation, believing them to be demeaning of a true hunter. Though he utilizes stealth and Guerrilla tactics in combat, Talen-Jei always gives his prey a fighting chance, believing that each and every creature should have the opportunity to fight for their right to live.
Remarkably intelligent and experienced, Talen-Jei possesses a resourceful and quick mind that allows him to make fast decisions with ease and operate well under stress. This intelligence is bested only by his sheer cunning, which allows him to track his prey, set various traps, and pinpoint an enemy's weak spot with remarkable efficiency. This mental acuity is denoted as being the instinctive craftiness of a predator as opposed to the cultured intelligence of someone more educated, using instinct and inherent aptitude to accomplish his goals.
As a skilled warrior and hunter, Talen-Jei constantly searches for stronger, more-dangerous opponents to test his abilities, and will not hunt those he deems beneath his skill level. This unwillingness to fight those he believes are weak is not out of arrogance - but out of religious belief. In Talen-Jei's mind, to hunt an inferior opponent is degrading, and does not honor the Scorekeeper. However, should such 'inferior' creatures attempt to attack him first - he will show no mercy or remorse in their subsequent demise.
</History>
Born 10 years before the infamous start of the Great Jedi Purge, Talen-Jei's life was unique since he was a mere hatchling. Raised on the Trandoshan homeworld of Trandosha, Talen-Jei's father, Deekus, was a skilled hunter, spending much of his earlier days exploring the galaxy in search of prey before settling back on his homeworld to start a family.
Talen-Jei frequently would accompany his father on hunting trips, learning everything he knew from the older hunter. Especially unorthodox, Deekus did not promote the inherit aggressiveness and brutality of many Trandoshans, but instead urged his son to hunt the beasts of the galaxy, to not taint his heart with sentient blood in search of the eternally-craved Jagganath Points. Talen-Jei took these tenants to heart as he grew older, though he and his father both were soon shunned by much of Trandosha's general populace.
Eventually, Deekus took Talen-Jei to Kashyyk to speak with the Wookiees there, considered extremely unorthodox by Trandoshan standards. Deekus did not view the hairy mammals as enemies like many of his kind did, but instead believed them to be just like the Trandoshans: skilled hunters and honorable warriors, seeking a place in the galaxy.
Remaining on Kashyyk for a number of years, the peace Deekus had found for him and his son would soon be shattered as the Empire sought to enslave the entire Wookiee population - ironically at Trandosha's suggestion.
Imperial and Trandoshan forces both invaded the beaches of Kashyyk, killing or capturing any Wookiee on sight without remorse or mercy. Deekus fought to defend his tree-dwelling companions to the best of his ability, but was gunned down after trying to protect a Wookiee mother and her cubs.
Talen-Jei was found by the Blackscale Clan, the ruling Trandoshan slaver clan on Kashyyk, where he was forcefully inducted and trained as a slaver. He learned how to hunt Wookiees instead of beasts, taught to treat them as animals instead of sentient creatures. Though his perception and mind had been clouded after years of forced teaching, in his heart he still held onto the dead whispers of his father. Nevertheless, Talen-Jei lost himself for a time, becoming an exceedingly brutal and murderous slaver. At first, he told himself it was an act, a facade to convince the Blackscales that he was not his father's son. But as time went on, Talen-Jei could no longer differentiate whether his savage actions were a front or not anymore. They had broken him...and he could not stop it.
It took a sudden epiphany upon being commanded to gun down a rebellious Wookiee family - cubs and all - that Talen-Jei realized just what he had become. Stealing a ship in the dead of night, Talen-Jei escaped Kashyyk, journeying to the Outer-Rim planet of Thila, where he attempted to reground himself once again, returning to hunting instead of slaving, beginning the arduous process of cleansing his soul of its dark taint.
It wasn't long after arriving when Talen-Jei discovered the Rebel Alliance had established a base on Thila following the Battle of Yavin. It was then that Talen-Jei realized the only way he could redeem himself of his past actions was to assist the Rebellion in destroying the Empire, and by extension: stop his own people...
</Useful Skills>
</Other>
-Though fluent in Basic, Shyriiwook, and Dosh, Talen-Jei's Basic is far less-refined. As such, he will typically speak in blunt, fragmented sentences; preferring to get his point across as opposed to dealing with unnecessary vocabularies.
-Somewhat unique to his species, Talen-Jei has an attraction towards humanoid females, finding them incredibly aesthetically pleasing.
-Also unlike many of his species, Talen-Jei has no inherit hatred of Wookiee's, attributed to his father's unorthodox teaching and time spent on Kashyyk before the Imperial Occupation.
-Talen-Jei holds both the Jedi and the Force in great reverence, and believes the Force to be a powerful universal entity that aids the worthy hunter.

Name: Aamaw Towron
Age: 20
Species: Ithorian
Planet of Origin: Ithor (Herdship above the planet)
Prior Occupation: Trader-in-exile
Appearance:
Standing at just under two metres, Aamaw appears to be very much the typical Ithorian, his colourful and worn garments the most striking feature of his appearance.
Personality:
Aamaw, like most of his kind is polite to the extreme, mild-mannered and a little shy. Preferring peace over conflict, it seems odd to many that he would find himself in the ranks of the Rebel Alliance. Holding a profound respect for both nature and the views of others, Aamaw is deeply curious about the world around him. Equally happy to spend hours in meditation, or talking to others, Aamaw’s empathy is evident to all.
However, Aamaw is also a fervent supporter of the Rebel’s ideology, believing in the absolute glory of the The Old Republic. Further, he also holds deep religious convictions.He can become uncharacteristically aggressive and even violent during times when his beliefs are challenged, and it is these feelings that have driven him to join the Rebellion.
History:
Like many of his species, Aamaw was born and raised aboard one of the gargantuan herdships that orbit his lush homeworld of Ithor. From a young age he was taught the pacifist ways of his people, and encouraged to treat others with dignity and respect. His father, a member of the respected order of nature priests instilled these values within him day after day, and ensured Aamaw was raised in the correct manner.
However, Aamaw was different from others of his kind. While he respected his own culture, he was fascinated by the world beyond his ship. On the rare occasions a trader would dock to sell equipment and supplies, Aamaw would question them relentlessly, eager to learn everything he could about their history, their culture, their life. Through such questioning Aamaw grew to learn of the world beyond his own, and was driven to restlessness. He longed to see the rest of the galaxy.
His only chance of escape was to hide aboard one of the merchant ships. With his plan hatched, he packed a few simple belongings, and with a mixture of regret and excitement, crept aboard a merchant’s ship bound for some far away planet. At first, the plan worked. The freighter left the herdship smoothly, and began the jump to hyperspace. During the journey however, Aamaw was discovered by the pilot; disaster had struck.
Fortunately, the pilot was a friendly enough man, and allowed Aamaw to stay aboard the ship, provided he help where he could. Over the next several years Aamaw travelled with the man, learning how to fly and maintain ships, as well as barter with other merchants. As he travelled, moving from crew to crew, his thoughts often wandered to home, and his father, and he would have eventually returned, had the Empire not interfered.
On a routine shipment of medical supplies, the ship Aamaw was aboard was attacked, the pilot killed when he tried to resist and the cargo stolen. Aamaw had always heard rumours of the Empire’s brutality, but witnessing it first-hand he knew he had to act. Fearing what they would do to his homeworld if they found it, Aamaw signed on with the Alliance, hoping his skills could be used to help protect the home he once knew.
Useful Skills:
-Aamaw is an excellent pilot, having flown a variety of ships over the years during his time as a merchant.
-His mechanical skills are also excellent, having learned how to operate and repair a broad range of equipment ranging from larger ships to simple blaster pistols. Gear was always worth more when it was fully functional after all.
-Aamaw is a skilled barterer, having practised the art for many long years.
-Lastly, Aamaw possess some degree of intelligence and is able to think clearly during stressful situations, having relied on faded starmaps to guide him through deep space.
Name
Arriaddik
Age
92
Species
Wookiee
Planet of Origin
Kashyyyk
Personality
Arriaddik, like many Wookiees, is calm and mild-mannered. Though, he is famous for his rage, if provoked he becomes quite unstoppable to ease down. He was raised with many principals such as loyalty, not only to family but those outside the family and honor. Young wookiees are taught to carve wood, which makes him rather dexterous. He is highly intelligent, as his career made him navigate through space and he has made his own bowcaster as well. This Wook can be a great friend or a terrible enemy.
Although his demeanor is mild, inside he is haunted and agitated due to the death of his family. Trandoshan slavers have been known to have been hired to hunt down fugitives, so he is always looking over his shoulder.
Profession
Veteran of the Clone Wars, Fugitive of The Imperial Occupation of Kashyyyk
History
Born and raised on the Mid-rim planet, Kashyyyk, Arriaddik spent his childhood in the nursery ring learning how to become part of Wookiee society and the wildlife of his home planet. At the age of 12, hrrtayyk was enacted for him, also known as the Rite of Ascension, to unlock his Rrakktorr or inner strength. He had to learn to survive in the Shadowlands, the ground floor of Kashyyyk, teeming with beasts. Arriaddik experienced a near-death situation, a katarn managed to get the jump on him. Almost at the jaws of Death, Arriaddik managed to unlock his Rrakktorr and killed the katarn, as it was his ceremonial duty to do so, granting him his rite of passage.
As a full-fledged Adult, Arriaddik married to Jicuk. Together, they raised two sons. Nagarra and Salmapia. The boys rarely saw their father. He was part of the Claatuvac Guild, group of wookiee cartographers and navigators. He helped discover many of the planets in their system. During one of his explorations, his ship was fired upon by Trandoshan slavers. He managed to escape before being captured by usage of an escape pod.
A few years later, Arriaddik participated in the Battle of Kashyyyk, repelling the Separatist invasion. He was trying to protect the Tree Vikkilynn, a vault of the Claatuvac Guild’s navigational information, which the Separatist’s sought after during their invasion of Kachirho. Arriaddik witnessed the fall of the Jedi due to Emperor Palpatine’s Order 66. He watched helplessly as clone troopers hunted down the Jedi.
After the Galactic Republic became the Galactic Empire, the said Empire turned the inhabitants of Kashyyyk into slaves. Trandoshans helped orchestra this campaign, in fact they were the ones who endorsed it. Wookiees tried to fight against their oppressors, which ultimately failed. The Empire bombarded the surface of the planet. The Claatuvac Guild decided to hide their data, trying to protect it from the Empire. The Guild Master decided to copy the hyperspace routes onto data chips, which were handed out to several members for safekeeping, among them was Arriaddik. Arriaddik decided that staying on Kashyyyk with the Imperial threat becoming worse, he decided that he would take the data and his family and leave. As he was coming home, the Empire were looking for Jedi that they tracked onto the planet. Once again, the Wookiees fought back. They were going door-to-door eliminating everyone, including his family. a Trandoshan named Deekus tried to defend Arriaddik’s wife, Jicuk and her sons. But he too ultimately failed, for he was fired upon along with the mother and cubs. Arriaddik witnessed this event as he was trying to gather his family to escape.
Arriaddik fled with the data, merchants and traders were helping Wookiees escape, so he got onto a merchant’s ship. Time passed between then and now and Arriaddik still doesn’t know if he made the right decision leaving. He knew if he stayed, he would’ve died with his family and the hyperspace route data would’ve fallen into the Empire’s hand. He decided to find the Rebellion, that joining them would help free his people and avenge his family. His people were depending on him.
Useful Skills
Superhuman strength and agility
Proficient in the use of a bowcaster
Exceptional navigator
Skilled in hand-to-hand combat
Outstanding technical ingenuity, although Wookiees are considered to be low-tier on the technological scale, they have no trouble understanding modern technology or combining it with theirs.
Others
Due to vocal limitations, he can’t speak Basic, but understands it. He only speaks shyriiwook as well.
As a profound hate for his ancestral enemy, Trandoshans, as well as the Empire.

Name: Kelim'tel Ordas
Age: 19
Species: Human
Planet of Origin: Naboo
Prior Occupation: Freelance Archaeologist
Appearance:
Personality: Kelim'tel was raised to become a politician, giving him a calm and respectful manner to his speech and attitude. However, underneath that proper shell is a rebellious young man who seeks nothing more than to explore the ancient temples of both Jedi and Sith alike, without any rules to keep him from exploring off-limit area's. Kelim'tel has also gained a very charismatic attitude, seeing others with good in them, rather than their negative traits. Despite this, Kelim'tel shows major frustration and even annoyance when someone talks about both Jedi and Sith as merely myths and legends. The most notable trait is his ability to stand up for what he believes is right...even if sometimes it isn't. Courageous? Yes. Foolish at times? Definitely.
History: When Kelim'tel was born, his parents believed he would grow up to become political figurehead, just like himself. Years went by in his childhood, studying the mannerisms of nobles and politics, how to persuade others to your beliefs, political propaganda, anything that would help someone get into a fine government job. However, at the age of ten, Kelim'tel discovered something that interested him more....The Force. He heard stories of mystical warriors and sages who used the Force to their advantage, basing their whole livelihoods on it, and defending the innocent from terror or bringing suffering to any who got in their way. The young Kelim'tel desperately searched for information on Jedi, but none were found. It seemed as though they were all myths...but something inside Kelim'tel told him differently.
He would spend the next six years studying more on the Force until an Imperial Recruiting party forced enlistment onto him. It appeared that his dream would have been crushed...until by chance, the Force itself called to him. It led his way, assisting in his escape from service to the Empire, and branded him as a Rebel sympathizer. For three years Kelim'tel explored the galaxy, smuggling himself into ships and Imperial cruisers alike, riding across the galaxy to his desired destinations. He looked through many ancient temples and training grounds, trying to unravel the mysteries of ancient holocrons and datacrons. When he was finally arrested by Imperials for traveling in an off-limit area, Kelim'tel was saved by a small Rebel task force. With a small revelation, Kelim'tel traveled with the Rebels back to one of their hidden hideouts, seeking their assistance into joining.
The Rebels are the only ones in the galaxy that could usurp the Empire, he believed, and owed a debt to them for saving his life. Perhaps their victory would allow his studying to remain in peace....this was something Kelim'tel was willing to gambit. Now he sits in a small shuttle, with only a single datacron to remind him of his dream, waiting to begin his training as a Rebel soldier.
Useful Skills:
- Very minor diplomacy, due to family background.
- Average with a vibrosword. Pretending to be a Jedi/Sith in his childhood with sticks has led him to train himself with melee.
- Subterfuge and Stealth
- Understanding of ancient holocrons and computers
Other: Due to his Force-Sensitivity, Kelim'tel feels the Force 'pulling' him towards Jedi and Sith artifacts, which has led to his somewhat adventurous and archaeological tendencies. Although this 'pull' only kicks in when he is near said artifact.
