How can you care about a character whom is nothing more than a collection of abilities?

How can you kill off a character that people have invested money into skins for?


They don't permanently "kill" them. They just adjust the lore and disable the champs for a week or so. That's what they did when Gangplank died during the Bilgewater event anyway.

League of Legends official Facebook page, images accompanied by snippets of text. I think it's fanart that they've decided to incorporate into the teaser cycle, or they might've commissioned the artist to make these, since I don't think it's from a Riot employee.

It sounds to me like the people who care about this sort of thing- these random, faceless people- are overreacting.

I mean, who could really care about these temporary departures?

These characters are only a handful of fluff and a "collection of abilities," are they not?

Is it possible that these guys are just saying things that they don't fully mean? Saying things because they think they're supposed to? Saying these things to fit in with the others who also have no better reason to speak than to also fit in?
