Ryia Stennos, of Longford | 17 | Female
Appearance
Standing at 170cm and weighing 51kg, Ryia has hair like flames. As a child, it was an unruly, tangled mess. But it has since been tamed, softening into cascading sheets. Still, it is a fiery crown atop her head, and a strong marker for her stubborn personality. Pale, with eyes an ocean blue, her skin is the colour of buttermilk – and she is considered a beautiful maiden of Longford, and rather loved of her people. She loves them fairly as well, and has been seen in the markets, dancing with the children and placing flowers in their hair.
Background
Ryia has never left the city walls of Longford. She has ventured outside the walls of the castle, but rarely still. Frequently, she will stand in court as her father King Kymmen Stennos grants audience to the peasants and workmen. Longford has long prided itself in its prosperity, with fine workers of such arts as carving of rocks and precious stones. As such, Ryia has scarcely ever wanted for anything, and hardship is foreign to her. From a young age, she learned that her appearances and youth and charming smile would forgive her most anything. That is not to say she has not been groomed to be respectful and obedient, to make marriage an easy task for both bride and groom. But the princess is a willful creature, with stunning resolve and esteem for herself, though she could be pressed to find her manners tucked into the lining of her finery. A comfortable, provided life is all she has known, and the only world she knows ends outside Longford. This journey to the neighbouring kingdom Hillstead – just over the hills, with a purportedly gleaming castle overlooking the meadow – to meet her intended Prince Edmund Lennin is an adventure in itself. She imagines the continuation of a wealthy life, and could not envision a change in the foreseeable plans.
