It will certainly be. Feel free to start IC posting, you don't need to wait for me. I'll just be in the corner planning out events.

"greater matrix of worlds has proven signfiicantly more difficult than the papers suggested it would." Understatement of the century. Try "practically at arms". Atleast the Arcandians are.

This is pretty cool and interesting. I have been awaiting for an NRP like this a long time to satisfy my Sci-Fi needs due to in part by playing SOASE and Homeworld a lot for many years. I will be making my sheet.

Always nice to see interest.

Anyways Lauder, just as a notice:
The True Order

use of flag in post

With the start of a new year occurring on Earth, the people of the True Order were busy at their standard lives for the past twenty or so years. Things were not as eventful as when they had declared their independence, but the people were happy and that is what the government liked to see. The Absolute and the Council were not doing anything particularly eventful but they were discussing ways to get the hostility from the United Front away from the Order. The arguement was currently taking place in a large dome located in the middle of the capital city of Triton.

"We must be able to show them that we do not want violence and we are not a terrorist group," a councilor said. "But we must demonstrate that we are willing to defend ourselves!," another stated.

There was always a difference in views on what should be done but the Absolute listened to the arguement between the Council, hoping that this would come to an end soon. Bethren did not particularly like the Council meetings but he knew the necessity of having them, especially in this situation. Though, his ear perked up when he heard an old councilor state "Why do we not send an ambassador hm? If they are to be treated unfairly then we shall defend ourselves. However, if all goes well then we shall have piece." The Absolute smiled at this idea and stood up, supporting himself with a metal cane.

"That is the action we shall take then, we shall send an ambassador on our behalf and see if the United Front will be tempted to not be hostile towards the Order. This meeting has come to its end." The Absolute stated before hitting his cane on the ground, signaling the end of the meeting.

Thus, an ambassador would sent to the Sol system in a small unarmed ship bearing the marks of the Order, not posing a threat of any kind to the United Front and its people. The ambassador would be guarded by four soldiers. The small ship entered FTL and began headed on its way. While construction on an Orbital Communications Station began.

This RP is not a game RP. I know I have policies to limit system count, but that was more to give emphasis individual on star systems (and enforce a smaller scale on the whole). Posting "and than we begun making a space station" suggests you see this RP as more a game, which is concerning.

I also underlined a part that is off putting to me for lore reasons. Whatever. I'll work with it somehow.

@pictish20

You really need to flesh things out. You mention a brawl and don't even describe it, what gives?

@Arawak

Sorry about that, that tends to just happen in my first posts from time to time, force of habit from a previous RP. I cut out the underlined sections.

Pictish, what I am saying is you need to put more detail into your posts. At the very least try to write a couple paragraphs.

Reposting here in case it was missed.

Ship:

Name: Sova
Origin: Novolazarevskaya Cosmodrome
Description:

"Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt."
- Sun Tzu

The Sova was built with a single consideration in mind: stealth. According to the United Front's registration on the vessel, the Sova is a corvette-class vessel, but it bears only limited resemblance to the standard corvette - or any other starship. The Sova's exterior is composed of an anti-ablative composite; a space-age material with a crystalline structure that scatters and absorbs low-energy EM radiation that passes through it. Its geometric, angular surfaces also serve to deflect incoming energy. The Sova is therefore very difficult to detect without knowing precisely where to look. Gimbal-controlling flaps on the two main thruster pods and lift thrusters also serve as EM-dampeners. These high-output engines make the Sova as fast as it is stealthy.

The high stealth and speed come at a cost, however. Its low mass makes for a nimble starship, but denies it powerful weaponry. The Sova is only lightly armed with 20 Atlatl torpedo missiles, of which five can carry nuclear warheads. A nuclear missile may seem like a potent weapon in space combat to the layman, but such weapons are easily intercepted at long range and are obviously unsuitable for close range combat. The Sova must carefully select its targets and destroy them quickly with expert precision because it will not survive the retaliatory blow. While this makes the Sova entirely unsuitable to participate in starship-to-starship duels or set-piece naval engagements, such missions do not fall within the purview of the Sova's role.

The Sova is primarily a spy ship, and its missions are typically oriented to furnishing sensitive information for the United Front government on Earth. While the majority of its missions are low-key affairs, the Sova has the capacity to conduct covert military operations. It is capable of atmospheric flight in pressures as high as 3.4 atm, and it can carry a single stealth dropship within its hold. Hypothetically, the Sova would serve as an ideal platform for deploying personnel to hostile territory. When a smuggling outfit operating from a pirate base in the asteroid fields around Inne's Star was massacred from within several months ago, suspicion arose that the United Federation had used a vessel not unlike the Sova to conduct an interdiction. However, according to documents provided by the United Front, the Sova has been mothballed many years ago as were the majority of corvette-class vessels; invalidating the possibility of United Front involvement in the incident.

I hope what this RP works well to satisfy that itch. What you have in mind doesn't get as gamey as the 4X games you mention, correct?

Yup. Right now I have in mind of RPing as a Military Command that's badly managed and poorly equipped though I might opt out for that and for the latter perhaps RP as a military fleet or and individual ship. I dont want to have my hands filled with huge faction as my next college semester is is going to start.

I'm still accepting.

I think it may take quite a few players before I close the doors here. I may limit based on faction and species (much more so on species), but still allow for many organizations/characters.

Went a different route and created a nice businessman to make things interesting.

Character
Name: Robert James Kirnwall III

Species: Homo Sapien

Affiliation: Current CEO controlling stockholder of The AESIR Corporation the parent company of: Kirnwall Investments, Kirnwall Realty, Pantheon Technical Developers, Oculus Intelligence Applications, Legend Security Solutions and a few other companies that aren’t worth listing.

Bio: Born into family of money that has existed so long that the origin of their wealth is even a mystery to them, Robert James Kirnwall III never had a difficult life. He went to school, studied business and economics, then went on to continue in the family business of banking investment, real estate, tech development, security solutions and privately funded warfare. The Kirnwall family has always overseen a business empire operating in both the legal and “gray” areas of the economy. Robert saw it only fit to respect family tradition and expand its operations throughout the known regions of space.

Goals: Robert J. Kirnwall III’s goals are quite simple, he would like to make to things happen: One, he would like to acquire colonial security contracts from the United Front, as believes their grasp is slipping and they would spent a large sum of money to ensure their territories are not lost to them. Second, he would like to begin privatized colonial efforts on several habitable worlds outside the realms of the United Front, people would pay a pretty penny to get out of the political turmoil of the UF and even more so if there were luxury living accommodations awaiting them in some far off paradise courtesy of AESIR.

The AESIR Corporation: Whether it’s fruitful stock market investments or putting down worker’s rebellions on mining colonies, AESIR has enjoyed a fruitful past half century and is currently being brought into the new age by it’s CEO Robert James Kirnwall III.

Spaceships

Name: The Bastion

Origin: Originally three separate battlecruiser that had been decommissioned, the Bastion was designed by Kirnwall and a team of hired engineers and built courtesy of one of Kirnwall’s own ship building companies. The purpose of this immense military vessel was to be for Kirnwall’s own personal use. The ship currently serves as headquarters for his business ventures and as his own private military vessel.

Description: The immense vessel has been retrofitted to look a lot less like the technological frankenstien of three separate vessels and a lot more like the sleek modern corporate “solution” it really is. With docking bays located towards the bow ship that can accommodate several fighter/bomber “escort” groups and a compliment of AESIR corporate “security personnel” living in the ship’s onboard luxury apartment bloc, The Bastion is too dissimilar to a moving military base. The ship is also fitted with a science and research center, a fully capable medical bay, spa, entertainment/arcade bay and even a five star restaurant. To be clear and concise The Bastion takes the power and capabilities of a military vessel and pleasantly combines it with the comfort and extravagance of a private yacht.
