Doc Siward

River Plateau. That was familiar enough. The high limestone mesas blocked the horizon, and with it any attempt to search quickly. I'll organise myself a day trip. We may yet be in for a hike. Siward made no attempt to follow when Mizu left. Nor did he bid farewell, though the final comment rankled. Perhaps there were arrangements to be made for his visit; The Doc expected to feel eyes on his back, and didn't want to interfere with that. Another trust game.

"Don't fret over this old owl, Mizu," he said instead, half to himself. "Secrecy is my business." He did value his life, after all. Siward valued that very much. Well... Enough of that later. I did mean to have a comfortable day today, and I intend to see that through. And he knew where to go to relax in thought, too.

Not just a boss but a Boss. Siward had read the capital in Mizu's gaze. Something large and bristly was stirring beneath Medburn. The Doc looked up and stared over the horizon where the Stargate waited.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

A keen pair of eyes flickered back and forth over the doctor through a colourfully stained window mosaic. The watcher was a Phione, and she wore a tidy, ornate hijab over a tidy, ornate brain with a long memory. "Look who's back," whispered Tala, her tone rising along with her small, timeless smile.

The door opened for Siward before he had a chance to ring the chime. "Afternoon, Siward. It's been two years since you last pleasured me with your company."

"And my money," he replied, removing his hat all the way and making a small bow before handing it over. Tala stowed it in an airtight cupboard along with his coat and cane, where the humid air of the smokehouse couldn't damage the material. The comment seemed bitterly arrogant, but Siward's tone was grateful and Tala humoured him. It was a sign of their closeness that they could be so open about one another's greed.

Siward paid his due and folded cross-legged beside an unoccupied hookah. Tala joined him, though her vice of choice was steaming coffee, not simmering tobacco. "You should settle, Siward. Melburn is growing and business is good, even for my little lounge. Dungeons stir up refugees and the Guild draws them here."

"As it happens, I've had the rare chance to play a role there already," he nodded. "With the help of a curious Axew. One Devin to whom I recommended the Explorer's life." He raised an eyebrow meaningfully. Tala sipped her coffee and returned the stare. "Did you learn anything from him? That Axew's a newcomer, but he's no vagrant, Siward. Even those who've seen him don't know much about him. Particularly his origins. He was just here one day, with neither friends nor relatives. Two or three others appeared on the same date. A Togepi. A Noibat. There's a rumour that he's the product of some explorer's reckless loving abroad, but it's faint."

Siward shook his head and wondered. "Ah. A mystery."

Celina smiled as they arrived and were given a room. It was that easy? Well... she was scared that they would not accept them in the guild, but then again, they probably were going to ask for help or such. She though about it before looking at Devin.
"That would work, but we probably gonna need to work and help around to be able to stay here. I guess we could make a team here and work." she says softly. This was going to be strange, being a pokemon helping others like this. Although, she probably won't play any video games here. This was going to be hard for her, but maybe she will find other things that are fun to do. She looked at Devin.

"That could work. And this will be different then where I came from... I kinda.... well.... uhm.... " she says, before remembering. If he knew where she came from... then maybe he would be really suspicious about her. She looked down.
"I ended up at the beach after my ship broke... lucky I survived." she lied. She sighed.
"I come from a land far away." she says. That could work. She looks around the room.

"Well... I think we should go see what we can do and help for maybe. Not sure about right now though. Maybe tomorrow or later?" she then says. She looked at Trevor and smiled softly at him.

Zell the Staravia

@ordure

A scornful expression plastered itself on Zells mug as he silently watched the scenes escalating from Takeo's restaurant from the opposite buildings roof, smugly raising his head, he surveyed the scenes of every single pokemon walking into and out of their little parlor of fun, even noticing the doc and his little lizard friend sliding off into the night, but that didn't interest him. No, what he needed right now was to let out some steam, or a meal, and usually that was a two in one bargain for the arrogant delinquent, however there was something else he had to stop before he could have any fun... who knows, perhaps intervening would get him what he wanted most out of the night.

Expanding his wings outward, the avian swooped down and perched himself on the handle of the door, having perfected his landing and tensing the handle, it slowly slid open completely, silently, and without a single shed movement, the birds eyes stared directly into the large pokemon's own, as he was busy looking at the tiny vulpix on the ground, hoping to get his attention from having entered, Zell staring intimidatingly at Takeo, as a tense atmosphere quickly began to boil.

"I'm lookin' for a meal, geezer... And I don't know about you, but I'd advise you not pick on the weak little runt there... And swiftly back off... otherwise we're going to have a serious problem on our hands... Cuz' ya' see... I can order from the menu... or I can just have whatever I set my eyes on... And you really wouldn't want that, grandpa..."
Zell finished with a smug self satisfied yet ominously dark smirk, hoping the large Pangoro got the message to back off the Vulpix, or he was going to be missing more than a few pints of blood tonight.

Brandish the Piplup

Meanwhile however, a more enlightening scenario was taking place. Hopping off down the road was the young Piplup himself, after training with his mother, the young yet optimistic little knight hurried along, each patter of his flippers echoing with a very pleasant and loving beat, happy to walk around Melburn free from the vigorous training he was put under, he was hoping to spend just a little time to himself, or spend time meeting new people! People passing through town, or just residence he hadn't talked to in ages! The thought of making them happy caused the Piplup to blush, it was such a wonderful idea!

That's when he noticed the Medburn Exploration Guild building! Perfect, people are always flocking there to sign up, maybe he'll meet a few people there! And that's exactly what Brandish did, happily walking into the building, he noticed a few smaller pokemon like himself were hurrying off, possibly having reserved a room to stay. Not wanting to see them go just yet, the piplup was persistent to meet them, and after a few pleasant words and some polite conversation later, it wasn't long before he knew exactly which room they had headed to!

Brandish immediately and politely knocked on the door to their room, if they were staying in a room in the exploration guild, they weren't probably from around here, so a friendly neighbor or even a friend would be great to getting them accustomed to Medburn, the thought to himself!

Kel, for some reason, decided to approach Ember, and Ember was going to show him how much of a mistake that was. "I don't think you WILL tell my parents! Not after I use my powers to CONFUSE YOU!" Ember shouted at the equine pokemon before using confuse ray, now that Kel was close enough to actually get hit with one of Ember's attacks. He then heard something from the restaurant owner that made him snap... er... again. "YOU! Obese purveyor of unhealthy food! I will deal with you later for that misgendering! For now, I must destroy the HORSE for his earlier, similar transgression!" Ember shouted all of this about as loudly as he had been shouting this whole time. It was truly a wonder that these pokemon haven't gone completely deaf... and that was about the time some bird decided to, for no reason in particular, try to... help Ember? Unfortunately, Ember, despite what he might thing, isn't the brightest flame, so, he responded to the bird's attempted aid with "Go away, birdie! This is MY revenge, not yours! I will find some way out of this situation, and I WILL triumph over these FOOLS who can't tell a boy from a girl! In case you don't know... I've already been TRAINING! YES! I have finished the most difficult mystery dungeon TEN TIMES IN A ROW! I think I can handle some stupid, petty bar fight!" as has already been explained... he's not very smart. A few of the customers seemed to notice Ember, and one of them gestured towards him. Perhaps they're just speaking high praise about the lone vulpix who destroyed the evil Kel despite a type disadvantage... Ember thought, as he had no idea what they were saying. Not because he couldn't hear them, but more because he wasn't paying any attention to them.

We all headed off to the guild, and Devin seemed to sign us up for something. Interestingly, he used the word 'person' rather than pokemon, a mistake someone in my predicament was likely to make, but not something that someone of this world would likely end up doing. I simply nodded and said "Mhm," every once in a while as he went through the process, as I was more or less lost in my thoughts until we finally got to the room, itself. It seemed much larger than it probably was, and I ended up asking "So... who's this 'Siward' guy that you reserved a room for, anyways? A friend? Family? Seems like a weird name for a haxorus, but, then again, what do I know about haxorus naming schemes, huh?" I then just realized what he signed me up for... I was going to be an explorer because of this. Oh no... that means I'm going to be RIGHT in the middle of all the danger... of all the fights. Then again, all things considered, it's not like I don't already have a target painted on my back. I thought before saying something. Originally, I was going to say something about how we shouldn't do this, but, I decided against it, instead saying "So... if we're a team now, we should probably have a name, right? Anyone got any ideas?" I then tried to think of a few team names on my own... but, I really couldn't think of anything. Of course, since I wasn't very good at coming up with names, with most of my pokemon's names, whenever I was forced to name them (due to certain challenge rules) usually just involved whatever animal they were based off of, and some extra letter, or letters at the end of it, or a name that sort of sounds like the animal they're based off of if that ends up sounding even dumber than usual.

"Don't nuzzle me." Gale said, sliding off of her chair with a little effort. "I'll go for a walk, though. I'll find something bad to do."

Her dad frowned, the small fire pokemon before him going on about - something. It was difficult to fully make it out with the sheer amount of blabbering that she was spewing. "Obese?" He said, his hands on his hips, slightly offended. "I'm not that fat, kid. I go on jogs. Now, back in the day, you shoulda seen me - I could sprint straight into an outl-" Her father began to ramble, before quickly getting cut off by a large, intimidating Staravia, beating it's wings in front of him. He'd listen intently to the pokemon's piece - the kind of threat that he usually received from his less-than-virtuous clientele. "If you're looking for a meal, then I wouldn't suggest me, kid. Too sugary." He said, grinning from ear to ear. He pointed a thumb at the menu behind him. "Pick something out from there - maybe you'll get your money's worth."

Once again, Gale's dad was trying to be his own, young, intimidating self - back when he was still a tough and rough explorer instead of a middle-aged father that owned a diner. His daughter would try to creep out of the restaurant behind her father and the Staravia, as more patrons watched the two - Zell's intimating and terrifying appearance, and Takeo's laid back, casual demeanor - all too used to receiving threats for either his cooking or from an old villain he caught decades ago. "Belgond, if you wanna come along - then be my guest." She said, trying to inch past her dad. "You can skip that stupid 'birthday lunch' and wait for them to deal with all this." Gale looked up to Zell with an utmost sort of respect - he looked super cool, and he was even challenging her massive and brutish dad, something that was rare nowadays.

Draco had always been the more cool headed and flexible of the team back in the day and that was still true now; His eyes stopped glowing red with a small sigh as he let his old friend and teammate stand up for himself against the overgrown flying rat while he dealt with the small Firefox; The kid honestly sounded slightly deranged and a cooler, more friendly approach sounded like it was needed.

Taking a step closer to the volpix, Draco offered the little one a smile but friendly smile. "Okay, I'm getting the impression that you believe that he-" a paw was pointed towards the water horse explorer in question "Has wronged you someway. Would you mind telling me what exactly he did? If an Explorer has wronged you then you have a right to be heard out and I'm willing to listen."

Belgond looked somewhat torn between heading off with Gale and sticking around to see how things turned out; He hadn't got to see his Dad ger serious like this in ages; It would be a good lesson for how to handle situations that might arise. The conflict came to a close however when Gale called the whole 'birthday lunch' stupid.

For a moment, Belgond's ears whilted as her words cut deep and quite visibly wounded him. The sadness in his eyes was quickly replaced by anger as he turned around and planted himself on the ground, not looking at Gale as he said If you want to go, then go. I don't know why you think that being good and happy is a bad thing, but you do not get to call me or my father stupid because you want to be 'cool'." The word 'cool' came out as a growl; A foul word that tasted foul to him.

Devin simply nodded as Celina explained her situation. It wasn't really likely for a Togepi to be on a ship, but, Devin believed her. She then began talking about what we could do to help, probably in exchange for letting us stay here.

"I don't really know who Siward is, but he helped save me from those muggers, so he wanted me to do a favor for him. Now that I think of it, he's quite the mysterious type of person." Devin then started talking about being a team. He then remembered Celina talking about helping out... OH NO! Devin wasn't ready to get out there, he just needed a place to stay, but with him being tha passive Pokemon he is, he just nodded.

"Well... I don't know, I hadn't really thought about it. It could be something to do with dragons, and flying, and eggs... Like, the Flying Dragon Eggs." There was then a knock on the door. Devin opened it, expecting it to be the attendant at the desk, but no. It was another new Pokemon. Devin cried inside, meeting new people wasn't his favorite thing, and he wasn't very good at it.
"H-hello there. My name is D-Devin... Um... Hi?" Devin mentally slapped himself in the face. Worst introduction ever! Actually... No. I remember that one time, that girl on the swings at the park introduced herself to me... Dear god that was bad.

Zell the Staravia

Listening to the pathetic yaps from the vulpix simply made Zell stretch a much wider, much more smug grin, there was no way that little fool was smart, this as straight up absolute mindless stupidity spewing from the kids mouth like vomit, and every time he yipped, it slowly angered him, though he wasn't going to resort to hitting a weakling, not unless he attacked first and instead focused his attention on the people around his presence.

Knowing he definately turned a few heads, Zell tilted his head up and addressed the large Pangoro in a sly, dark tone, while kicking off the doors handle to prop himself on the counter, buffing his chest outward to display his glistening feathers much more prominently. He liked how the big guy was acting, so tough, head on his shoulders, not giving into his whims so easily or becoming scared, it was nice to find someon who wasnt a total wimp.

"You're really not good at this whole negotation thing, are you...? I happen to like a lot of sugar in my diet... So you're no exactly... Helping yourself..."

Zell lapped at his beak, continuing to stare with a heavy glare of intimidation, until he one of his eyes spotted gale like a spotlight, those sharp eyes of his pircing throuh her own with a single glance, before looking away and back at her old man.

"Heh but by all meals, prove to me your "culinary chops" are better than yourself, and i'll concider that as your apology for scaring this dumb shit of a vulpix... However if not... Well... I wont spoil~"

@lugia @ordure @bright_ops

Brandish the Piplup

Brandished bowed apologetically, giving devin a wide happy smile, he knew knocking on the door was rather abrupt but he couldnt stave off the notion that perhaps the pokemon wasnt feeling the best, or if he was feeling okay, wanted to get him feeling like a member of the town and not some stranger, a new friend would definately make his day! Atleast that's what Brandish thought!

"Im sorry I knocked the door so suddenly! I noticed you all coming in, and i assumed you were all not from here! Maybe from another town? My names Brandish! Im a .. Well i hope to become a hero! And i wanted to say hi and greet you all! Its nice to meet you Devin and your friends!"

The kind piplup took his clawed little hand usin a flipper and hook it, giggling cutely at the pokemon, before pulling his flippers back, hoping he made a good first impression.

"Even though we may not know eachother, i'd like to be your friend!"

Kel was slightly dazed by Ember's confuse ray attack, it was fairly weak even for a Confuse Ray. For a second he lost himself but shook his head and regained his senses. "Okay, I have no clue what your beef with me is still, but I'm still not going to attack you. I'll be back." Kel walked out the restaurant doors and began scanning the houses nearby for Ember's parents. A few doors down there was a small house with the mailbox bearing the name "Zeigfried", with a Ninetales out in front.

"Excuse me, you wouldn't happen to be the parent of a small Vulpix named Ember would you?" Kel asked the Ninetales. The Ninetales sighed and slowly nodded, obviously knowing that her son had gotten into trouble yet again. "He nearly started a fire in Takeo's Restaurant, they're watching him till I get back. You might wanna come pick him up before he tries something that gets himself hurt." The Ninetales remained silent, but nodded and started off after Kel as he headed back down to the restaurant.

When he walked in with Ninetales, Ember was still pinned (By himself still) in the corner out of surprise and shock. Kel stepped to one side and Ninetales stood on the other, giving Ember that deathstare that only a mother could preform. She grabbed him by the neck and started carrying him right out the door. Kel now turned to the new visitor, the Staravia who from the looks Takeo was giving him told him he had said a few words too many.

"Hey, we don't want any more trouble here my fine feathered friend, so it would be best if you either ordered your food or left. I've already taken down a Staraptor this week, a Staravia would be no problem whatsoever." Kel finally trotted over to his seat, hopefully things would start to settle down again. It's this early in the day and already there was trouble in this town... quite strange. Now all Kel had to do, hopefully, would be to wait for his food to be ready.

Celina heard the name that Devin proposed, and shook her head a bit, unsure. Just then, someone knocked at the door and Devin answered. She stared a bit before Devin opened the door and... kinda fumbled in his speach. She chuckles a bit from this, before hearing what was being said. She smiled softly and moved forwards.

"Well hello... Names Celina. It is nice to meet you Brandish." she says smiling softly at him. It was best to try to get a good impression in this town. The better the impression, the more they will get accepted and maybe they will help them figure out what was going on. She had no idea what was even going on with the world now, as well as the reason why she arrived here. It was all so confusing. She breath deeply and smile.

"Devin, I am not sure about that team name. We could try to original with our name or something. I am unsure." she says softly to him, thinking a bit more. She herself was unsure about the name. She looked down.
"Not sure.... there is the name Stargazers that came into mind... but I really don't know about that one." she then says, before realizing what she just said. Stargazer.... stargate... how to get suspicions up or something with what she said. Good job Celina... good job...

The pangoro decided to ramble on and on about how he used to be so great, but I knew he couldn't be better than me, and a couple of the restaurant's patrons decided to leave while the bird tried to look as intimidating as he could. Kel... somehow broke Ember's confusion, and ran off to find his parents. Ember chuckled to himself, thinking that he might find his father, some umbreon who doesn't like to discipline him, however... he was proven VERY wrong when the dreaded horse came back with Ember's mother. "M-Mother!? Wh-what are you doing here? I... I... um... IT WAS ALL HIS FAULT!" Ember then pointed towards Kel, though, his mother wasn't buying it. "What's this I'm hearing about? You nearly lighting a place on FIRE? I'm guessing Kel spilled your soup, or something equally stupid. You're coming back home RIGHT NOW!" she then 'escorted' Ember out of the building, and back to his house while Ember yelled and tried to explain to her how that keldeo ruined his life by calling him a little girl. She remained silent, but, given that she was currently carrying Ember with her mouth, that was expected. The expression on her face, however, didn't budge an inch. Perhaps I was a little hasty with my revenge... but, I WILL make it out of my room, and I WILL get my revenge! NOTHING WILL EVER STOP ME FROM THAT! Ember practically shouted to himself while his parents both scolded him, yes, even his father, who was usually kinder, more understanding of Ember's issues... or, possibly just too cowardly to do anything. They both agreed to lock him in his room for the rest of the day, AND working at the restaurant until the damages were paid for... of course, Ember would still be unable to go outside for an entire month after that... not that he didn't already have a plan to escape. He ended up as he usually did after he got caught doing something, in his room, making some sort of trap for next time.

[Trevor]

Celina, out of nowhere, suggested the name 'Stargazers', and... for some reason, that just seemed to work. Sure, flying dragon eggs had some comedic value, but I was more inclined to call the team 'The Stargazers', and with that, I voiced my opinion "I think I prefer The Stargazers... it just seems to fit for some reason, don't you agree, Devin?" and right after I said that, the piplup introduced himself as Brandish, and explained that he wanted to be our friend. "Well, I suppose you could... um... we were just sort of... uh... setting up a new team... but, you wouldn't be interested in that, right?" I asked the newcomer, who seemed to actually want to be friends with some pokemon who nobody has ever met before. It seemed strange, but, from what I could tell, he didn't have some sort of evil plan or anything. Heck, he might even be hiding less than Celina and her supposed shipwreck... of course, I could already tell what the truth was with her, I just needed to ask her about it once we were alone for any reason. Well, not even a day in this world and already I have friends... or, at least, A friend. This 'Brandish' character seems nice, even if his name is kinda weird. I thought as I looked around the place for any sort of items that I could use... typically, new recruits at a guild got some sort of starting items, at least, they did from what I could remember of the games... then again, I didn't really play too much of the mystery dungeon games, as I had to convince my parents that they weren't 'real' pokemon games, and they only fell for that once... and I still had to play it in secret just so they didn't catch on.

"F-fine." Gale said, her voice bitterbut slightly shaky. "You can go ahead, and be an explorer. See if anyone ever cares about you."

The young pokemon turned around, walking out of the restaurant surrounded by several patrons tired of the ordeal and looking to get a faster breakfast rather than the chaotic little situation that had unfolded. Takeo chuckled, watching as the small, yapping fox was picked up by the scruff of the neck by his mother - something that he was all too used to doing to Gale. "Noww, that whole mess is dealt with, let's get back to work. I'll cook you up a me-" He was immediately cut off as he turned around, revealing a diner mostly empty of patrons. "Well - I guess that will free up some time for me to cook a meal." The head chef sighed, walking back to the grill to reveal an assortment of cooking food and steaming pots. He placed some under the cupboard, hopefully to save for dinner tonight, and began to serve the food to the remaining loyal patrons.

He walked around, carrying an assortment of ceramic plates and bowls to his remaining clientele - serving up hot bowls of food and steaming plates of vegetables to the pokemon lying about. As he came to Kel the Keldo, he said, "Hey, thanks for helping take care of that kid, Kel. Nice job getting his mother. I hope he doesn't try to get back here soon!" He turned, as the sizzling pan full of Zell's food began to emit an aromatic sort of smell - picking up the attention of several nearby pokemon. As he turned, he crossed on Belgond and his father's table - his father still looked pretty chummy as he recounted about a particular exploration in which they took care of a Mudkip causing trouble out in the lowlands, but Belgond looked bitter - he seemed particularly distant. He lay out an assortment of rich looking food in front of the group - on Gale's plate was a pancake with a neatly cut-out smiley face, soaked in syrup and mint leaves.

"Hey, Belgond." He said, frowning, glancing around the restaurant. "You seen Gale? She yells at me when her food gets cold."

Outside of the restaurant, storming down the street, was Gale as she silently fumed about how Belgond responded to her. I can't believe he said that! The nerve! He was such a stupid.. A little deeper, however, she horribly regretted saying he and his father was stupid. I mean.. I guess he's not that stupid. His dad's cooler than mine. Maybe I should just go back and apolo - never mind, that's dumb. She continued storming down the street, sliding through pokemon with her remarkably short size. When she grew up, she'd be just like that awesome Staravia her dad was holding up - just the sight of his eyes focusing on her almost made her shiver. She'd be like that, one day - intimidating adventurers with just a glare. She was sure that she would be.

"Don't think anything of it, Takeo. I've still got no clue what that kid had against me, but guessing by what his mother said, probably something really stupid that he over-exaggerated. I still can't believe a nice little kid like that would do that..." Kel's stomach broke him from his thoughts once more, now having the aroma of the soup in front of him. As usual he took a nice big gulp down. Nice and spicy, just the way he liked it. When he'd first actually tried this soup, so long ago, he had ended up using his bubblebeam on himself to try to ease the spicyness. Over time he realized that the Oran Berry Juice, and sometimes a little bit of Rawst Berry, would really help cool it down.

After a few minutes both the bowl of soup and the glass of juice were empty. Kel, now with a full stomach, got up and headed around to the main counter. He got the fee from his treasure bag and sat it on the counter, enough for a decent tip as well. "Another good one, see you next time Takeo." Kel waved and headed out back into the bustling mid-afternoon of Medburn. "Guess it's time to check out what the Guild has up on the jobs, wonder if they've got any leads on that Gabite or Scyther..." he thought as he trotted over to the guild.

As he passed through the entrance, he waved hello to Espurr, the calm and usually pretty happy desk attendant for the Guild. To get to the job boards here, Kel had to pass through the dorm rooms. He looked back and forth through each room, checking out the new teams or old teams that stayed here. He passed by one of the rooms and noticed the Axew from earlier. He was with a Togepi and a Noibat. Now that he thought about it, he remembered seeing the two of them back in the crowd at the alley way. "Well good for him, looks like he's found some friends to form a team with... seems like a really good kid." were the thoughts that passed through his mind as he made his way into the inner workings of the Guild.

He made his way over to the job boards on the far side of the main room. Not much today, but recently activity in Mystery Dungeons had begun to pick up again for some reason, so he expected that this short break of peace was not to endure. Then he spotted it, a wanted flyer for a Scyther, spotted nearby at the Winding Plains. "That might be the same Scyther from earlier today... I can't pass this up!" He grabbed the flyer and put it in his treasure bag, then taking a few minutes in the main room to check what he would need for this job.

Mizu was feeling pretty good right now. He had managed to recruit a pretty cool asset for The Boss, that might be enough to get him on His good side, he established a nice base within Medburn, has a couple of recruitment scribbles up on the local Graffiti Wall, the day had started badly but was slowly turning. Right now he was hanging out in the shady part of town and munching on a Liechi Berry he swiped. Nice and sweet.

"This day couldn't get much better." He chuckled as he observed the wanted poster with his face on it- 'Wait what? How do they already have my face out on the streets!?' In his anger he barely noticed the Pancham bumping him. He definitely noticed the moment he dropped his Liechi Berry though. Mizu turned and glared at the kid. "Hey! Watch where you're walking kid! You made me drop my Berry." He said with a fair amount of malice and anger in his voice. He walked in front of her and blocked her path. "Apologize." A menacing aura surrounded Mizu as his inner rage burned.

As Gale left, Belgond's ears wilted alongside the sinking feeling in his stomach. While he had no regrets about standing up for himself or his father, that didn't change the fact that it felt like a Machamp had punched him in the stomach. Once Gale had left, Belgond gloomily slinked his way back to the table that he had been planning on having lunch with his dad at before sitting down and resting his chin on the table.

When Gale's father asked him where Gale was, Belgond winced a little before saying in a sad voice "Me and her had an argument... I honestly don't feel all that hungry anymore..."

"She didn't!" Takeo Feuille exclaimed, his brow furrowing. "I can't believe that girl - arguing after seeing you after so long.. must be why she doesn't have any friends.. going to scold her so bad when she gets back.. she's always so crude.."

The head chef would continue muttering to himself, returning to the counter to quickly scrub the dishes clean under the steaming jets of water with an old rag, his face growing hotter as the errant leaf stuck between his sharpened teeth swung and spun. He shook several steaming, cast iron pots of veggies on the table, hissing and bubbling as columns of steam rose and added to the smell of the diner. The few patrons still there began to whet their appetites over the meal he was cooking, fastening his apron as he rapidly and frustratingly shook the pot. As he began to calm down, he set the blaze to a low fume, and the hissing and sizzling became more spaced out and quiet as he eventually set it to only a low simmer and not the high boil it had been previously. He returned, carrying to plates of freshly diced and cooked food.

"You really should eat, Belgond, your birthday only comes once a year." He said, placing a few plates around the table. "But I really do apologize for Gale said to you - you know, every time someone is genuinely friendly to her, she shoves them away. Really hates the thought of having friends."

The chef took a momentary seat, resting his gut under the table and began to dig in to the plate that he had set for himself, lighting a small aromatic candle in the center of the table. "I hope she didn't do anything too bad." The pangoro said through a mouthful of still steaming food, shoveling it down before he had to return to serving his remaining clientelle. "She never really could do anything too bad - last time she tried doing something "bad," she ended up crying her eyes out." He quickly patted his mouth, already digging away at the remaining meal he had set out for himself. "She better come back home soon - I'm going to make sure she apologizes to you, Belgond, you at least deserve that." He finished up his food and picked up his plate, carrying it to the sink.

"You can go suck a - oh, wow, are you an outlaw?!" Gale asked, her voice full of a sudden spirit and excitement. "Ifyou'reanoutlawcanIgowithyoupleasepleasepleasecanwedosomethingcooltogether?" The young Pancham practically tripped over her words as she looked at the powerful, menacing Gabite in awe.

A look of embarrassment crossed Mizu's face and he smiled bashfully. "Heh, yeah I'm an outlaw. It's pretty fun getting to do whatever you want and get payed while you do it. I enjoy my- WHY ARE YOU EXCITED THAT I'M AN OUTLAW!" Mizu suddenly yelled as his eyes widened in confusion. His entire view of children had just been turned upside down in less than ten words. 'Why is she excited to be meeting a violent criminal?! She's supposed to be terrified, crying in fear! Not excited!' Suddenly his eyes widened and he looked around. People were staring, someone was already running away. "Damnit kid, you did that on purpose!" Mizu grabbed her by the arm and started dragging her to his hideout. "Come on kid, this isn't a good place to talk."

As soon as they got to the old abandoned building, Mizu rushed in and closed the door behind him. "All right, how about you repeat what you said earlier, but this time at a speed below Mach 5." As he said this he looked calm and collected, the only sign something was wrong being the slight twitch in his left eye. On the inside however... 'Oh god I just kidnapped a local child. I just kidnapped a local child and half the freaking town saw me kidnap a local child. The Boss is going to kill me for this! Why do all my trips into this town go horribly wrong?'

Kel had finished checking everything in his bag, pulling out his Wonder Map. "The area the Scyther is reported to be in is a relatively easy path for me, i've been there many times helping out the locals when an outlaw or two would try to take over." He tucked it back into his Treasure Bag, along with a few Reviver Seeds and Oran Berries he almost always carried when going out on an outlaw hunt. He jumped up from his seat and made his way to the door, not noticing that the poster he had taken down had slipped out of his bag and been carried by a light breeze into one of the rooms.

He headed out towards the Winding Plains, stopping by Takeo's Restaurant before leaving. It was a days trip out to the area, and Kel wanted to grab a snack for the road. "Hey Takeo, I've got another long one ahead of me, was wondering if I could grab something for the... you okay Takeo? You look kinda worried there." Kel looked around the room, the only ones still there were Draco and Belgond, and that rude Staravia from earlier. "Let me guess, Gale's gone again? If you want I can have a look around for her before I go."
