She wanders about the street. The black earth scuffing the soles of her feet. She stops often the remove the rocks stuck between her toes.
"Stupid." She says sitting down on the pavement to remove the rocks and dirt.
It's early morning and lucky for her no one is out on the roads yet. Even if there was she wouldn't be able to recognize the danger.
She was looking for Dan. Or atleast that was her intention when she noticed the gate was open and she left the yard. But now she just wanders. Sneaking in and out of people's yards and tumbling down hills.
When she sees a boy on a bike she stands up and cocks her head to the side as of confused. She had seen him before but never so up close. His face looked different than she thought. After all the only other person she's seen was Dan. Everyone looked like him in her mind.

Dan swerved around the corner, regaining his balance on his bike after nearly being sniped off by a cranky old man with the newspaper he just delivered. "Geez...that senile old jerk is gonna kill me one of these days." He pedaled down the street tossing newspapers here and there, flinching when he accidentally nailed a cat. "Hm?" As he reached for another paper he noticed that she was out again. Dan road up and stopped in front of her. "Hey there~ Lost again?" He smiled. This wasn't the first time he found her wandering around.

She nods and grabs him hand. "Dad is gone." She says, and like usual it seems like she has more to explain but can not manage to form the words.
She points down the hill at her house at the end of the cul de sac, pulling him on to follow. "Help." She looks at him with a worried expression.

"Gone?" Dan gave her a puzzled look. He saw her struggle in her attempt to explain. Dan understood that she wasn't exactly...normal, so he just nodded. "Alright, let's go see what's going on." He let her lead him towards the house. Dan finally understood that things might be serious when she started to look worried. He'd never seen her really show much emotion, let alone worry. Now she had him concerned.

"Gone" she said again once they reach her home. She entered the yard through a chain link gate and then went inside the house.
Inside it was dark and just as vacant of people as the rest of the street. The fire alarm was ringing. Humming like she usually does when stessed she walked over to the stove where something atop it continued to burn.
"Help. "

Dan got an ear full as they entered the house. "The fire alarm...ah geeze." He followed the girl as she hummed all the way to the source. Dan quickly turned off the stove and threw the burning pot of something into the sink. He jumped back as the handle was hot and burned his hand a bit. Turning on the faucet and letting the water put out the burning food, he opened a window to try and air the kitchen. "Hey, you can calm down now. The alarm should stop soon-ow!" His hand was stinging pretty good but it wasn't too serious. "So, what happened? Where's your dad?"

"He was mad." She says watching Dan frantically fix the problem with her same empty eyes. She sits on a stool and spins until her hip slams into the counter and she hops down again. She hits herself in the spot she got hurt and continues to explain herself. "He left this morning. I made breakfast." She cant quite remember what she even tried to make or what he dad was yelling about. Something about her not being the right Ana. She doesnt even know an Ana...

After the pot had cooled down in the sink Dan let his hand take dip under the faucet to soothe the burn. "Mad? About what...?" He looked at her and saw that she was a little distracted so he changed the subject. "....Are you still hungry? We can eat and wait for your dad."

"Ana." She says."Ana Ana Ana.... You will never be Ana! I will never be your father!" She mimics and quickly covers her mouth aftewards as if shocked. She goes to him and watches his arm. "Bandaid." She says pointing at the red mark so close she almost pokes it.

"Ana...?" Dan was really confused now and little upset. How could the man say that kind of thing to her? He was at a loss for comforting words. When she pointed to his burn he smiled slightly. "Yeah. Why don't you go get me one while I make us something to eat~" Dan placed a hand on her arm. "Don't worry. I'm sure your dad was just a little stressed."
