However, when Lyons broke away from the Western Brotherhood Ronald did not support it. After breaking away, Ronald left, and joined the outcasts for a while before deciding it wasn't the right thing. While wondering the wasteland in his Outcast armor he found a pip-boy on a dead man. After putting it on and messing with it he found the Enclave radio station and was automatically amazed at the Enclave, and more importantly, with the speeches of President Eden. He enlisted shortly after. After enlisting in the Enclave army and showing his skills, aswell as his knowledge of Pre-War tech, he climbed very quickly through the ranks. After aiding in the hacking, and later Self-Destruction of Liberty Prime, and leading a charge into the Citadel, President John Henry Eden summoned him to his office and promoted him to a Lieutenant Colonel, and put him in charge of a special operations group which will be heading into the Boston Commonwealth before any other Enclave forces. He was given a set of Tesla Power Armor and chose which squad mates would be best for this team. They soon earned the nickname " Washington's Outcasts " due to their Armor color resemblance of the Brotherhood outcasts, aswell as Ronald's history with the Brotherhood.
