Name: Jean Grey
Age: 29
Alias: Marvel Girl, Phoenix
Appearance:

Abilities:

Jean is telepathic and telekinetic.

Personality:

Jean has gone from a happy and naive young woman of privilege to a traumatized victim, and finally to calm and quietly confident survivor. She has always been a very kind, but very private person since the death of her parents. Even her presence in the dreams of others has been described as soothing, if contemplative. She can charm as easily as she can intimidate. Her eidetic memory has given her wisdom, her passion for life after Xavier rescued her trapped psyche the drive to make as much as she can of that wisdom in her chosen field in medicine, then as a hero. Her sense of humor ranges from dry wit to the silly, and she often smiles. Her rage runs cold and determined, though it can take extreme measures to wake.

Biography:

Jean Grey is the son and daughter Edward and Abigail Grey, born in Boston General on April 25 in 1985. Her father from the Greys of Boston, her mother from the Alcotts of Cape Cop. Her life was a prep academy, high society, fairy tale even into her teenage years. Her family was happy, active in Boston, kept busy with friends from school and business and philanthropy, until the day after Jean's cotillion. That day her parent's were struck by a drunk driver, though Jean survived with no major injuries, she had been found unconscious on the scene. It would take a year for her to wake up.

During her time as a coma patient, coma patients at her hospital that had awoken spoke of seeing a girl like her before. It was only after a desperate and unorthodox doctor that heard the claims of awoken coma patients read an article on the possible power of mutants that he guessed nothing medical or mystic in nature at play--but something mutated. That was when a mentor suggested an old Academic friend; Charles Xavier.

Xavier was able to save Jean from the abyss, but saving her from the experience of death from the telepathic link formed with her parents when they died would take much longer. The trauma of losing her loved ones was extreme, her only family except for distant relatives she had very little contact with before her parent's death. None had visited her. Jean accepted Xavier's invitation to come to his Institute, and become part of a team of students gifted like her. She would go on to test out and fly through undergraduate at Princeton while mostly living out of the Mansion, doing her years of residency in Emergency Medicine before finishing and returning to teach at the Institute and take on a greater role in Xavier's cause and school administration before Genosha.

Jean had gone from the team's weakest link, defensive in nature and unskilled, to one of it's most powerful members with the emergence of her telepathic powers at the time of the decision to intervene in Genosha upon Magneto's request. Though Magneto's warning had been dire, not even Xavier expected what Apocalypse was capable of after the final defeat of his Horsemen. Let alone the rest of the X-Men. The alien mutant caught them all by surprise when even Xavier seemed certain Apocalypse was failing to maintain the battle. Jean was linked to Xavier in the very instant victory turned to sudden defeat, when Xavier was overcome in a heartbeat.

Once Xavier died, Magneto lost control. In response Magneto threatened the very world to defeat Apocalypse, the alien estimating he would beat the human to it and survive the aftermath. The ancient alien turned godling awoke something primordial when it went to destroy the world first. It was Jean's fanatic desperation to preserve life, and her telepathic ability to perceive it, that convinced the primordial force she could handle it's darker side.

Though she understands the power behind the Phoenix Force, she knows it only in dream logic. A feeling of knowing the forces behind the universe, of seeing them at play. Of being able to manipulate matter and time/space, as she had learned through Apocalypse and the power it took to defeat him and save the Earth. Of dying, Jean can only say she felt touched by the power of God, before remembering Apocalypse scream, and her world going black. She awoke after her cosmic dreams standing upon the desolation Genosha has become, remembering nothing after the Phoenix took her and destroyed Apocalypse until waking up.

Her return has come as a shock, both to those close to her, and to those watching them. Though she has shown either no sign of major changes after her death and rebirth, it is clear she has begun to see life and death in different terms. Her powers seem returned to pre-Phoenix states, and Jean admits she does not feel the Phoenix within her or anywhere else now.

According to Director Fury before his removal, she had replaced Magneto as the top mutant on at least the US kill list.

Misc: The Phoenix Force is blind to Galactus and his heralds, as Galactus is from before the current universe. It has fled from Death.

Name: Capt. Carol Danvers, USN

Age: 31

Alias: Captain Marvel

Appearance:

Captain Marvel herself

Abilities:
Carol has superhuman strength and durability, along with the power of supersonic flight.

Personality:

EDIT: I had a brain fart and forgot to fill this out.

Carol is an adrenaline junkie pure and simple. She loved the thrill of flying a jet and flying now that she has superpowers. The years of hard work and preparation to become a fighter pilot instilled in Carol a strong sense of willpower. Carol's years of military training has left Carol with a good strategic and tactical mindset when it comes to combat. She also had a slight case of PTSD from the events of her abduction but managed to work through it with help from SHIELD doctors. Carol's not exactly the brooding tortured soul superhero type, relishing in the work she does with the government and the Avengers.

Bio:

Misc.:

I got rid of the concussive blasts Carol uses as Captain Marvel. I figure if we have an Iron Man then Carol can just work as a straight up tank.

Name: Antony Edward Stark
Age: 35
Alias: Iron Man
Appearance:

Abilities:

Tony Stark is neither mutant or metahuman, controls no powers beyond what the human form can hold, but to suggest he his somehow at a disadvantage because of this ignores recent history. He is possessed with genius level intellect and an engineering skill above and beyond what the world has already seen, outshining, in the opinion of most, even his father. In regards to his suits, which give him the name Iron Man; Most have super strength, flight, speed and repulsors and other special high-tech weaponry and gear, which he makes up for not having his own superpowers. Unknown to all but Stark himself, following the battle of Genosha, Stark Industries recovered Magneto's helmet and, following reverse engineering, newer Iron Man suits now come equipped with the same level of telepathy-dampening.

Personality:

Most who meet Tony Stark have trouble taking him seriously, largely because he seems to take nothing with anything more than sarcastic humor even at the direst of times. With somewhat of a justified reputation as a playboy, Tony has enjoyed, and continues to, a wide variety of parties and women, although has shown during certain relationships the ability to remain loyal, he is always one for wild nights and flirtation, with a disarming charm that can border simply on annoying to the wrong person. Despite his 'sins' Stark has always been a philanthropist, even in his days of building up Stark Industries as an arms producer. Many public works hold Stark's name, and many more have been bankrolled by the man who made Stark Industries the global institute that it is.

Beneath these layers of often self-centered personality quirks, Stark has finally proven, to at least anyone who's mind could be changed, that he is just as heroic as the other members of the Avengers, and most remember that it was Iron Man, not Thor or Captain America, that pushed a nuke into space, expecting no chance of return. Ever since the event, those who know him may argue that he tries even harder to hide this side of him, while, ironically, at the same time, working with the Avengers to defend the World from threats similar to Loki's invasion.

Bio:

Stark Industries has been a name of interest since the days of the Second World War, originally founded by Howard Stark, the great inventor, a man who worked very closely with the government until the drop of the atom bombs. The only public statement Howard gave after his separation, entirely, from governmental work, was the single phrase 'I could have saved them.' A statement, that the current Stark still looks into in the present day. Under Howard, Stark Industries became a successful engineering business, developing creations for the consumer that should have been years ahead of his time, although many were forced to remain the property of the rich and famous, others were designed for general use. Tony was born fairly late in his life, when Howard was 55 in the year 1979, not that an odd family dynamic would affect Tony for long, for a decade later his father would die in Ireland in one of many terrorist attacks in the North, having been there on holiday and to promote several new inventions intended to raise the standard of living in Belfast. Afterwards Tony was raised by his mother (significantly younger than his father) until she later died of cancer when Tony was 21, upon which time he was fully in control of Stark Industries, having already earned two masters degrees by this point.

Under Tony, Stark Industries soared from an engineering firm worth a couple of million dollars, to a multi-billion arms producer, the loss of both of Tony's parents throwing him into both business and his wild social life even further, potentially at the expense of the morality his father had wished for him. For the first time since the Second World War, Stark Industries began taking government contracts, but from across the world, rather than just the USA.

Things changed for Tony a number of years later when he was captured by Terrorists (The Ten Rings) in the Middle East, while showcasing a host of new weaponry for the US army to deploy in the region. With shrapnel threatening his heart, the terrorists kept him alive to produce weapons for them to annihilate any American presence in the region, before turning on the continental states in turn. Rather than obey, Tony, with the help of Ho Yinsen, created a micro-arc reactor to keep himself alive and a suit of weaponised armour to allow him to escape. Upon returning to the States, he ended all arms production contracts Stark Industries maintained and focused on the application of the technology of the arc reactor, meanwhile refining the technology of the armoured suit, to create the first Iron Man suits, becoming one of the world's first public super heroes since the fall of Captain America in the Second World War.

Despite such moves, Tony eventually discovered that Stark Industries weaponry was still finding its way across the world, including into the arms of the Ten Rings, attacking the village of the now deceased Ho Yinsen. Stark, in his latest Iron Man suit, attacks the terrorists, defeating them and destroying all the weaponry they had attained. During the flight home, Stark was attacked by US Air force jets, although after destroying one (while saving its pilot), Tony revealed his identity to James Rhodes, who eventually called off the jets, despite going against US protocols. Upon arriving home, Stark discovered his company managed, Stane, had betrayed him, having hired the Ten Rings to kill Stark (although they disobeyed orders) and had attempted to rob him of control of the company. Having stolen the best of Tony's arc reactor technology, leaving Tony with the earlier versions of his own reactor, Stane constructed his own Iron suit, having killed many Stark Industries employees to do so (including Pepper Pots). Stark eventually killed Stane by tricking him into falling into the company's first Arc Reactor. After the destructive events around Stark Industries, Tony Stark revealed to the world that he was in fact 'Iron Man.'

After this event, Stark was increasingly pressured by the US government to hand over the technology behind the Iron Man suits, stating the official reason that other nations across the world were close to developing similar technology, despite Stark disproving this as simple propaganda. While the US government had little grounds to enforce such a move, many individuals felt Stark was retaining the technology for personal glory, rather than his stated reason of not wanting it to be deployed in war zones. This culminated with James Rhodes delivering one of the Iron Man suits to the US military, fearing Stark, slowly being poisoned by the Arc Reactor keeping him alive, unfit to maintain control of the technology. This created a rift between the two, that may have healed to an extent of the intervening years, that has fostered distrust for the US military within Stark, especially after the deployment of War Machine. After Stark defeats another inventor, Vanko, trying to kill him with his own technology, Nick Fury contacted Stark about using his suits, if not him, for the Avengers Initiative, although eventually Stark is called on board after he recovered both the Tesseract and a frozen Captain America.

The events that followed the formation of the Avengers are well known. Thor's brother Loki used the Tesseract to bring an alien army to New York, where the Avengers fought them to a stand still. Acting preemptively, the US government launched a nuclear warhead at New York, hoping to destroy the invading forces access to the world. Here Stark showed his much doubted heroism, by steering said Nuke into the portal connecting the alien fleet to the world, himself disappearing into space before falling back through. Severing their connecting to the fleet, the remaining aliens were a challenge, rather than a dire threat, to mop up. Since then, Iron Man has continued to assist those in need globally, deliberately distancing himself from activities connected to the US government, although remaining a loyal citizen. Until now.

Name
Neena Thurman (Domino)

Age
23

Alias
Domino

Appearance

Abilities
In addition to her exceptional marksmanship and hand-to-hand skills, Domino possesses mutant probability-altering powers, similar to those of the X-Man Longshot. Basically, she has luck on her side.

Personality
Tough, spunky, determined, and unafraid to get results. You could say that Domino is the border line ‘hero’ type that has questionable methods due to her upbringing. She’s very sociable, flirty, and aims to get what she wants no matter what.

Bio
Domino was born as a government-controlled experiment, a top-secret ‘breeding’ program if you will in the government’s attempt to create the perfect weapon. Out of all of the test subjects, Neena was the only one to survive but under closer examination her mutation power of having luck on her side was waved off as a failure, thus she was to be destroyed. With quick thinking, her biological mother broke Neena free from the underground facility and took her to the Church of the Sacred Heart in Chigago. Not at all finding this lifestyle ‘fitting’, Neena then ran away and became a mercenary. The pay was good and it got her off the streets, not to mention her ‘luck’ factor always seemed to come in handy when on the field. One of her first jobs was to stop "Operation: Jericho," which was a remote-controlled war bot project. Domino wrecked the robot, but in the process fried the mind of the soldier controlling it.

The older Neena got, the more comfortable in the mercenary life she became. At the age of eighteen, Neena began to found her own mercenary band now known as the Six Pack. She worked with the Six Pack for quite some time, getting into the bigger cash amounts and the higher living style. Their tactics were a bit ruthless, shooting down anyone who got in their way. It was her team, which was also known as the Wild Pack, that had gone on a mission in Germany and participated in a raid on a secret HYDRA base, which Domino led.

Immediately catching the interest of Director Nick Fury, Domino was scooped up by S.H.I.E.L.D where she quickly disbanded to work for the Six Pack and instead worked for S.H.I.E.L.D for a short while before Domino heard about Xavier’s school for the gifted. Though she was probably too old to be a student there as she was now twenty-three, her curiosity brought her to the school where she has been staying ever since with no intention to return to S.H.I.E.L.D since Fury has been replaced.

Name: Thor Odinson

Age: 1000+

Appearance: 6’6”, blonde hair, close-cropped beard, arctic blue eyes. Powerfully muscled. Normally clad in Asgardian armor with Mjolnir in hand or hanging from his belt.

Abilities: (Condensed version) Super strength, invulnerability, flight, weather manipulation, Asgardian physiology, magical connection to the mystical Mjolnir.

Personality: Multi-faceted. Brave, undaunted. Prideful. Often passionate to a fault. Sometimes the instigator, sometimes the diplomat, dependent upon the stakes and his level of irritation. Respectful of the many races and cultures of Midgard (Earth) while also holding himself apart from and (occasionally) above Midgardian politics.

Bio: True-born son of Odin, heir to the throne of Asgard, Thor has spent past centuries growing to adulthood and adventuring across The Nine Worlds with his closest companions on some sort of glorious quest or another. Only in recent years has he been forced to face true responsibility for his actions and for the fate of Asgard. He has also recently taken a special interest in the happenings of Midgard, partly for personal reasons (a certain quirky astrophysicist?) and partly for political.

Learning of recent events on Midgard from the gatewatcher Heimdall, Thor travels earthward to investigate the dangers that threaten his mighty Midgardian allies.

Misc.: Basically following the movies as far as backstory and assuming nothing major has happened in Thor-verse since the defeat of Malekith. Thor has mainly been occupied mourning a dead mother and "dead" brother, and overseeing the rebuilding of Asgard.

Name: Steven “Steve” Rogers

Age: 94 years old, physically in early 30’s late 20’s

Alias: Captain America

Misc:
Steve is still pretty broken up about his 'girl' back during his time and has wondered time and time again if there might even be a chance that she is still alive. He knows that she would be old, or have either died of old age and doesn't know which one would be harder for him to find out, therefore he hesitates.

Name: Scott Summers
Age: 30
Alias: Cyclops
Appearance:

Abilities: Scott can fire optic blasts that have thermal, electromagnetic, and kinetic energy. The cause for this is that his pupils actually have enzymes that transform the air in front of him into a plasmatic state. He often wears a visor that can screen his blasts while still allowing him sight. Because of this, when he initially opens fire, the beginning of his blasts are a more powerful burst than the remainder. Also, he has combat experience and strategic expertise gained from leading the X-men early in life.

Personality: Scott is an introvert, he keeps his plans to himself and is very cautious about who he gives information to. He is often seen as a jerk, a cynic, and a self-sanctimonious preacher. But he is none of these things. He is the most thoughtful of the X-Men, he is objective and is willing to make sacrifices to reach an end-game that he can feel comfortable with. Scott is valiant and direct in his actions, but he is not impulsive at all, merely passionate. Deep down he has fears that linger from his teenage years, a lack of confidence and unshakable feelings of insecurity.

Bio: Born in 1984, Scott Summers was the firstborn to his father and mother, the first nuclear family composed entirely of Homo Superior, though he never knew it because he'd been raised in an orphanage where he was kept alive by the generosity of his elders. When he was fifteen he was adopted by Charles Xavier, who brought him to his mansion he'd inherited and transformed into a school meant to train mutants to survive in the world.

It was there that he met Jean Grey, Bobby Drake, Hank Mccoy, and Warren Worthington III. They were all a closely knit group of friends despite having emotions fly and other bumps in the road. There were often times when his shy nature caused tension between him and Jean Grey due to a crush that never became anything more. Xavier helped train them to fight for the coexistence of humankind and mutantkind in a VR room where they ran various field missions with Scott as their leader. Codenamed Cyclops, he led the 'X-Men' into many battles meant to prove that they were just as beneficial to mankind as everyone else.

When he was seventeen, Beast, Angel, Marvel Girl, Iceman and Scott defeated Magneto in an air force base in Nebraska. Magneto had the goal of proving mutant superiority rather than yearning for peace as Charles had. This often led to hard contact between himself, the X-Men, and his own Brotherhood of Mutants. Rather than killing The X-Men, as he could have, instead he aimed to recruit them to his cause, seeing great potential in Scott particularly.

Honestly, Scott had seen great merits to joining Magneto's side and the more aggressive approach to asserting mutant rights. But he never did so that he wouldn't disappoint Xavier. As time went by, and as the Xavier Institute grew, Scott served as a teacher and remained leader of the X-Men. Then everything fell apart.

When Xavier died in 2012, he left the X-Men behind, unsure of what to do with himself because he believed that he could've prevented his death. Then it hit him, he'd carry on Xavier's dream, but in his own way. He'd take the more aggressive approach to defending mutant rights. Rather than hiding within the school, Scott created a team of mutants that would fight for Earth as a whole, believing that all along the X-Men had been Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Because the name X-Men signified a connection to the institute, he chose the name 'X-Tinction Team', because his new group would handle extinction level threats to any species. They also stood as a group that would rip apart an iron fist that would come down on mutants as a whole, no matter where it was in the world. He showed that mutants could be just as heroic as the Avengers. Even in the face of the incidents in 2013 and 2014, his team continues to stand firm in their course, taking great offense to the existence and use of the Sentinels.

Misc: The Extinction Team's roster consists of: Cyclops (Leader), Magick, Emma Frost, Colossus, and Gambit.
