Name: Uarhan Oxruis
Age: 230 (Frozen for 200 years)
Race: Flame Genasi
Class: Pyromancer
Appearance:
Personality: Despite his charming love of flames he is a passionate man with a stern voice and no fear. Driven to survive in this new harsh world, Uarhan has become adaptive and sly, making sure to never draw attention to himself or any traveling companions due to his nature. A city floating on old boards would not suffer his presence. In the face of danger to himself or his mission Uarhan is as violent as his fiery soul, laying waste to foes with gouts of killing fire and conjured molten rock. Nobody would dare cross him without good reason.
Alignment: Inbetween - Tries to do the right thing but is unafraid to break the rules.
Diety: Priomordial Elemental of fire
Skills: Pyromancy is his specialty but a few myriad spells from his younger days as a student have been added to his explosive repetoire.
As he still has in his keep a spellbook of worth he has access to a myriad of spells long since forgotten
Fire spells -
Fireball - Standard ball of flame, burns everything it touches
Combustion - A long stream of fire and hot wind escape through his outstretched hand
Lavaball - Like fireball only a searing hot ball of conjured molten rock
Flame touched weapon - Imbues friendly party members weapons with magical heat, scalding or burning foes on contact
Firestorm - His deadliest spell, firestorm creates a tempest of fire elemental magic. Even when faced with water or rain these fires will burn bright so long as he channels the spell
--------------
Non-fire spells
Minor levitate - One syllable spell that causes levitation
Minor Invisiblity - Short spell that renders the caster invisible till they attack or interact with the world
Water Breathing - Pyromancers are taught to fear water; Uarhan was taught to take the fight to them (Minor spell / 2m duration)
Teleport - Uarhan can teleport a short distance to anywhere he has been or can see. (No world-jumping.)
Uarhand is mainly a fire caster and can only use these spells a limited amount of times before he must relearn them.
Weapons: None - Cleansing fire is the only weapon he needs
Items: Spellbook, potions of healing, bandages, pouch of holding.
Uarhan came from a time when magic and medicine were plentiful and carries a plethora of knowledge with him of old ways and old spells.
Boat: Floating raft, enough to carry him and be paddled. Made of wood and a tiny bit of scrap metal salvaged from a raider ship (Before it sank to the bottom of the sea)
Background: Uarhan was once a scion to a noble family of wizards who worshipped and fought on behalf of the elemental plane of fire. When the big wave came, an ally offered his life to protect Uarhan. Frozen in time within a gigantic block of ice, Uarhan saw his mentor disappear in the tidal wave that claimed the world. No magic could protect their home from such destruction but he alone was spared. Given the spellbook of his mentor mere moments before the freeze, he still remembers the words spoken. "When you are free; save this world"
200 years have gone by with Uarhan still in the block of ice, preserved by the cold water and a race of dwarves who casted protective ice spells to further keep their frozen home ever expanding as they floated north to the tundras. Uarhan spent his years in a deep meditation, consciousness repeating the mantra of his family, the words of fire, and the power of his heritage. On one fateful day the Dwarves had chosen not to cast their charm and freeze this now nearly abandoned glacier.
All the stored energy exploded outwards in a wave of heat that melted the prison around him to a puddle. Had it not been for the deep ice, Uarhans journey may have ended there. Aflame and hot to the touch he melted the old ice as it cooled him off before he could sink fully through and fall into the endless depths of the ocean.
In return for a simple request he procured a small raft the dwarves used to hunt fish and was sent on his journey. The request was to never return and never tell of their home.
Upon the seas he ventured, searching for information on how to end this world of endless water.
I bet you're thinking 'wow he's kinda powerful'. Rest assured, he isn't. Power in this world has its price. Fire is feared, and the water robs him of a great deal of that power. Though he can cast mundane magic, he cannot unleash his true magic unneccesarily without risking his own ship/the town.
His is a game of caution and threats/bluffs :D
