Dana took a look outside to notice Donna was right about one of the carriers approaching their position. “Didn’t think they’d arrive this way.” She noted on their attention to a spearhead formation with Griffon units at the front. “Let’s head out and make sure they’re up to… Activate the anti-artillery turrets!” She ordered this to the pilots when she saw missiles making their way towards the grounded carrier.
Gawel wondered about the order when he asked, “The hell is she – Aw damn!” The alarm systems activated within the carrier at the imminent danger. Gawel and Zachariah switched the automated turrets on and watched as they made quick work of the first wave of missiles.
Gawel asked down the hallway, “What the hell is this? Are the aerial forces trying to fool us or something?”
Zachariah was in agreement, “It looks like they managed to get a wrong idea about our presence.”
Dana pushed them both aside when she reached for the radio hailing the nearest signal, “Attention! Attention Admiral! This is Captain Houston reporting!”
She heard Admiral Begum being with his question, “Explain your actions Captain. For what reason has an assassin been found on Sir Goslin’s estate upon your entry?”
Dana didn’t bother hiding the truth at this point, “We have to take him in for questioning. Based on what our sources found he may have been a cause for this war.”

One of the operators heard the response when he offered, “It’s a pretty plausible response sir. It’s not like the enemy requires an old man to give critical information they can use.”
Another one added to the argument, “Even so they’re not denying the chance to kill him. Although this whole thing is supposed to be an Earth Sphere coordinated mission anyway.”
The Admiral contemplated his next action quickly when he decided, “If they are willing to admit this much we should hear out their case at least.”

Yasmin and Neil made their way to the upstairs master bedroom while Naina was distracted from the guards below. Neil’s wife managed to have a look outside when she noticed the carrier for the first time while the Griffon units yet to put a dent on it. “They’re not responding as expected.”
Neil made his way towards his own computer when he agreed, “Indeed. They were fortunate to be this prepared. At least I can present this much to them however.”

The Admiral saw another signal trying to hail for his ship in the middle of his thoughts and requested to Dana, “One moment Captain.”
He switched the signal and heard Neil Goslin’s voice. “Admiral. What has stopped the initial attack on the carrier?”
The Admiral answered back, “They were authorized to enter this area on a mission. I don’t know if this is a misunderstanding but it would seem they were here on official business.”
The voice on the other line answered to the claim, “I have only now understood what has transpired. I believe these are the Coalition forces making their way through the German areas. They only wished to infiltrate from stealth first. What would fellow Earth Sphere soldiers have to gain from attempting to capture me after all? Regardless of their affiliation I can assume they aren’t even allied with the Earth Sphere.”
The Admiral was further shaken in his judgment when he tried to figure out the situation. “Were you unable to confirm the identity of the assassin before Mr. Goslin?” He asked hoping for clarity.
Neil answered back, “I couldn’t Admiral. But I find it quite likely that these men used a forged entry code to gain entry within our borders.” There were some gunshots distant in the background of Neil’s radio before he begged, “I beg you to consider this Admiral. My life hangs on this decision.” The signal switched off and the Admiral was forced to decide his next action.
One of the operators noted the status of the hangar bays announcing, “Our Griffons are on standby sir. They require an order on the next move.”
The Admiral took action when he announced on his intercom, “Attention Primary Squadron. Issue suppressing fire on the carrier. Prepare to escort a drop ship while we secure the President.”
He heard the voice of a leading Griffon squad member confirm, “Roger that Admiral. We’ll have that thing taken out in a jiff.”

Gawel saw the Griffon units descend towards their location while preparing their rifles for combat. It wasn’t long before the crew felt the ricochet from the damage being done. “Aw what the hell is this shit? Now they’re firing on us?”
Zachariah looked at the ship’s status when he warned, “Our shields and engines aren’t going to take much if we stay here.”
Dana turned to her fellow pilots when she ordered, “Everybody who has a shield, get out there and push off whatever attacks you can reach.”
Mercurio and Keijo stood up rushing to her side, “Moving out.” It was a short amount of time before the carrier opened on both sides and permitted the Uriel and Artemis to step out while Keijo’s Panther stood behind for cover. The Uriel prepared its sword into shield mode and Mercurio knew there was only one effective way to prevent any further damage. He activated the Zero System and saw every possibility of the formations before him. It was only a moment before he simply knew what action to take next.
The Uriel raised its shield while Mercurio contacted, “Make sure not to fire on those Griffons. We can’t afford any casualties for our side.”
Kejo responded to the order, “Got it. Just tell me what to do next.”
Mercurio had the plan laid out in his mind while he prepared for a throw, “Adjust your shield to the left.”
Keijo did so and the Uriel threw its shield into the air destroying the first wave of missiles. Some of them managed to fly over the shield’s path but Keijo’s shield caught them and only left an indentation.
Mercurio heard Dana request, “How are things looking on your side?”
The Uriel prepared to catch the shield while Mercurio answered, “We’ve got it covered. Hopefully it won’t be long.”
Dana warned of their situation, “Once they return to the carrier we have to get out of here. Any longer and we’ll have to go all out at some point.”
Mercurio was quick to remind her, “We can’t leave Naina behind. She’s still in the estate.”
Dana agreed to the concern when she responded, “Yeah. Let’s hope she’s already got what we came here for.”

Dana’s voice came on the pilot seat radio asking, “How are our systems looking?”
Zachariah looked over the damages done to the carrier when he answered, “We’ve got both the left and right sides covered. We might be able to put up with them for just a while.”
She gave her order, “Contact Naina and make sure she gets out of the location now.”
Gawel began to adjust the communication signal when he agreed, “On it captain. Aborting now.”

Admiral Begum was given video feed of the ground below when he was reported by one of the operators, “Admiral, we have mobile suits coming out of the carrier. Requesting your order sir.”
The Admiral recognized the mobile suits in a moment when he reached for his radio, “Those mobile suits from Tahat.” He commanded into the frequency, “Captain Houston. Answer immediately.”
Dana’s voice answered back, “Now you’re going to hear us out? Better late than never.”
The Admiral got right to the point when he asked, “What is this business with the Gundams? Have you not been tried before the Earth Sphere court?”
Dana gave her answer, “We’ve had our case heard. Looks like the news doesn’t spread as fast as we thought.” She seemed to recognize what the Admiral was basing her survival on when she answered, “Things at Tahat didn’t go as you might think they did. We did everything possible to prevent it but it was either Carmine and de Lombard or us.”
The Admiral meditated on the subject before he wondered, “And this happened over the course of moments ago?” He issued an order to the Griffon units outside, “Primary squadron pull back. Do not attack the carrier.”
“Roger sir. Returning to home base.” The voice of the leading Griffon pilot answered.

Naina entered Neil’s bedroom with her pistol armed and stepping over the body of one of the guards. “Your efforts are wasted Mr. Goslin. Attempting to pit forces against one another is not as easy as you might wish it to be.”
Yasmin was in shock at Naina’s entry while Neil simply chose to observe, “Eleven years of war has certainly brought out the best fighting abilities in the human race.” He met his gaze with her when he asked, “I suppose you have your own sentence to carry out then?”
“It will bring more satisfaction to humanity when they hear your confession.” Naina answered.
Neil took a pistol out of his drawer when he offered, “Allow me to save us both the trouble.” In the next moment Naina saw him take his gun towards his wife and shoot her in the head. Just as quickly he placed the barrel to his own and fired. Neil Goslin had his own suicide mission it seemed and it had just been carried out to leave Naina in surprise.
She heard Gawel contact her, “Hey Naina. You ready to blow this place? We have to get out of here now. We’re running risk staying here much longer.”
Naina maintained her composure when she opened the estate window preparing to jump out, “Roger. Returning now.”

Mercurio and the others were able to return from their mobile suits unscratched thanks to the relatively calm day. “Well this day could have gone worse. Hope Begum isn’t much of a sore ass over a misunderstanding.” Keijo observed.
Mercurio agreed, “Destroying more Earth Sphere mobile suits would have been bad enough.”
Pascal voiced his question on the matter when he asked, “And just why the hell did he not figure that the Captain was one of the Gundam pilots in the first place?”
Dana entered from the other side of the carrier when she answered, “What reasons did he have to know? He wasn’t directly picked for Rising Himalayas and the operation was a need to know basis only.”

Admiral Begum saw the carrier on the ground prepared to move out when one of the operators announced, “We shall begin an escort of the Wing 1 now sir. We have clearance from High Command to see them reach the mainland.”
“What shall we do about the ground forces sir?”
The Admiral thought for a moment before instructing, “For now take a sweep of the estate and find out what happened.”
One of the operators agreed, “Yes sir. Issuing orders.”
The Admiral offered a final attempt at righting his mistake, “Contact our recruits and let them know their trip will be safe from this point on. I shall take responsibility for anything that happened.

|

One of the pilots heard Tano’s evaluation of the mobile dolls when he asked, “Tell me about it. Is there even a reason to keep following these things? I didn’t plan on following them just so I can get squashed.”
Another pilot brought up, “Maybe if we warn the Earth Sphere about them we won’t have to pick an early death.”
Someone else agreed with the idea, “Yeah what’s the point? We’re not taking back the capital anytime in this decade. We don’t even know who we lost in the siege.”
Oleg cut into their conversation when he reminded, “You should both know that treason against the Coalition is not an option.”
One of the pilots took an accusatory stand to Oleg when he answered, “Tsubarov I don’t know if you noticed but it doesn’t really look like there will be much of anything if those things roam free while we have nothing but burned forests and scrap heaps to defend ourselves with.”

Donna was glad that the problem was solved without having to kill another batallion again. Milou saw her give a sigh of relief and Naina returning from her mission from a window and the recruits that scattered briefly when the Griffons appeared returned from their hiding places to board the airship.
Suchart found himself meeting one of the new recruits, a young man who looked like who got fresh out of an academy. Who just stopped in front of him. "Who are you?" He asked, not bothering to hide his jaded perspective.
The boy replied. "Private Nick Walker sir." He responded with a salute.
Suchart didn't care about the boy's name anyway as he doesn't know any famous name in Europe. He may have a chance in knowing Thai names as he is from there but the Gundam pilots would have a better chance knowing any history. "I'm not the leader here." He told the recruit. "Report to Captain Houston." He gave an obvious sign that he wants to be left alone.
Nick found Captain Dana with Mercurio and Keijo but he was able to tell his new commanding officer with the obvious mark of a veteran. "Captain Houston, Private Nick Walker with recruits reporting for duty." He gave a salute to his superiors.

Tano made his decision with how some of the pilots made a point. "There is a point that further pursuit of the Mobile Dolls will have us killed by either Earth Sphere forces or the Mobile Dolls." He decided. "We will make our retreat to Moscow. I already tipped the Earth Sphere on their problem now and it's better to leave before they find us." He led the retreating Mobile Suits and as he did he thought that the three Earth Sphere Gundams may be the closest thing to stopping them.

Dana turned to Nick along with the other recruits when she returned the salute, “Welcome aboard Private. Let me be the first to promise that our conflicts with one another aren’t going to be quite as confusing as what you just saw.” She saw Naina make her leap to the carrier’s hangar with the recording device in hand. Two of the pilots secured the hatch while Dana noticed Naina had come up shorthanded. “I take it the mission with the old man didn’t go as hoped?”
Naina shook her head while brushing off what remained of her makeup, “It didn’t. I do have the evidence we need however.”
“Did you figure out Neil’s connection to Kecker at least?”
“It would seem they were both working together from the beginning. It’s possible that if Kecker had been executed that Goslin would have taken his place.” She considered Neil’s comment on how Franz’s trip saved him the trouble when she added, “It explains much. These men clearly didn’t care about who would win this war, only if the war could be dragged on long enough for the Solaris to reach its destination.”
“These two must have really had this planned through. Is there a reason they would be the ones to reach the Solaris?” Mercurio was the first to ask.
Naina remembered there was only one that could coincide with the Solaris and Neil’s intentions. “He mentioned the Sol Invictus. I believe this is the creation we have discovered under Kecker’s orders in regards to the Solaris and its activation. Recalling the dimensions of the Solaris and the mirror structure it appears their intention to use it as a weapon is not implausible.”
Keijo brought his confusion to the discovery when he asked, “Seriously? So who’s working for who? What sort of group of folks want this to happen?”
Naina was reluctant to answer but knew that it had to be made clear right away. “Neil made certain to avoid mentioning an organization. He said himself he wanted this act to be unite humanity against an abstract concept.”
The issue had bended in a way few of the pilots thought was possible. Mercuior pointed out, “Sounds like we’ve only found out a few new things about what Kecker is trying to do. We’ll have to warn the Parliament about this.”
Dana agreed, “That’s about right. Majewski, maintain a course with Admiral Begum and get us back to the capital ASAP.”
“No need to tell me twice sir.” His voice rang from the cockpit area.

Dana made her way to the main radio between the pilots and adjusted the frequency for the carrier in Amsterdam. “Wing 2 come in. Do you copy?”
Nasir was on the other line when he answered, “We read you Wing 1. The mission progress okay?”
“Not too much of a hitch. How are things going on down there?”
“Haven’t heard anything encouraging sir. We still have reports from Germany about the enemy breaching our borders. There’s even talk that some Coalition ranks are running amok from these guys. You don’t think they’re trying to confuse us with some kind of tactic do you?”
“If only we could know for sure. Stay on guard there, we need to issue a warning to the Parliament. It’s pretty urgent we get it through now.”
“Roger Captain. We’ll maintain our position until you return home.”
“Negative. Remain in your area and report back on any activity. We’ll need our forces to be as spread out as possible and have a possible space launch route.”
Nasir took a moment to answer the order but cooperated, “Your orders sir. We’ll follow.”
Dana ended the call when she thanked, “Good work Epstein. It won’t be long.”

|

“For once that actually sounds like a plan.” One of the pilots thanked Tano’s order.
“Yeah let’s get out of here already.” Another one encouraged.
Oleg decided it would be better than trying to accomplish an impossible task of facing the Sol Thero units head on when they could return to battle another day. “Hopefully Moscow is somewhat safe.” He said adjusting his radio. Once the radio had its signal set to Moscow he contacted, “Attention. Emergency broadcast. This is the remaining Kaliningrad forces. We’re preparing for rendezvous.” For a while there was only static before he tried to contact again, “Moscow Base do you read?”
There was still static before someone answered the call, “Kaliningrad forces? Good to know there’s survivors out there.”
“Is this the commanding officer?”
“Negative. This is Captain Kazantsev.”
“Where is the General?”
“Dead. Along with a majority of our forces. We’ve just made contact with some sort of enemy mobile suits. We’re fortunate to still be alive but the majority of our facilities have been destroyed.”
Oleg braced himself for the worst when he asked, “Are these mobile suits jet black primarily using missiles and double barrel gatling guns?”
Kazantsev was quick to confirm the observation, “That fits the description alright. Did you encounter them as well?”
Oleg sighed before he answered, “Roger that sir. We found them making their way across the German countryside. Hopefully we’ll have a chance to gather our bearings before they attack again.”
“We will have to restore some sense of stability for the city indeed. For all our sakes this had best be the last in a while.” Kazantsev agreed.

Donna saw airship moving as fast as possible to return to Brussels from one of the windows of the hangar. She took notice of the new recruits that were recruited in Dover and they were wide-eyed, obvious that they haven't see any battle yet. Milou was also there, checking for any faults in the Aquarius' operating system now that the virus is removed. She went to him in favour of his company in contrast to the new cadets. "Is the Aquarius okay?" She asked him.
Milou turned to find Donna. "It should be okay." He replied. "It's the only thing I can seem to do now." From what he can see Donna is still hit hard. "So are you feeling better at all?" He returned with a question.
Donna hesitated before answering. "I had a nightmare in the morning." She whispered. "Seeing dead people." She hugged Milou strongly after speaking.
Suchart witnessed the interaction between the two. He would've got the recruit to join the betting pool but he didn't feel like it. "Like if I give a damn anymore..." He thought.

The news of Moscow's decimation was also a shock to Tano. He had to remain his composure to his subordinates. "We will continue our move to Moscow." He declared. "Kaliningrad is nothing for anyone now but McNeil should be ready with repairs and modifications for those with blasted parts that are no longer worth keeping."
The squad returned to Kaliningrad to find McNeil ready to go with repairing the Leo IIIs and give an upgrade for Oleg. The chief engineer noticed the returning Mobile Suits and signalled his men to get ready. "Lieutenant, was the search for the Mobile Dolls fruitful?"
Tano gave a blunt answer. "They went into Earth Sphere territory and much to our surprise they killed a squadron of border guards." He was also still shocked with what he saw.
McNeil remained professional. "I will begin refueling now." He switched to speak with Oleg. "Private, we will install the gatling guns to your Leo now. We just need you out for a wee bit so the lads can get to work."

Two hours passed before the Wing 1 carrier was returning to the capital . As soon as they were in airspace Dana saw the signal hailing her squad from the radio. “Patch us through.”
Gawel agreed when he contacted, “This is Wing 1. We read you home base.”
The voice on the other line ordered, “This is General Neustadt. Please land for entry, we’ll require a report for the recent mission.”
Dana confirmed the order, “We read you General. We have a report ready.”
“We look forward to the report Captain. Neustadt out.”

Malcolm saw the recently assigned General Marcel Neustadt enter before he introduced, “General. Are the German territories still under attack from the enemy?”
The General confirmed the question, “Yes sir. We have reports coming in that the enemy is progressing its way here. The Coalition is very persistent to see the capital is taken back.”
Malcolm pointed out, “It isn’t likely General. We have recently begun talks with the new Coalition President to permit a ceasefire. Their own forces have been stretched thin as it is and they currently have ranks in Eastern Europe being decimated by forces we cannot confirm.”
The General brought his concern to the matter asking, “As true as that may be Mr. President, I cannot imagine there would be any other force attempting to usurp our efforts in maintaining the Earth Sphere’s position. With all due respect I should like to know if you don’t suspect our recent Coalition prisoner is not in line with this?”
Malcolm pointed out the issue, “As legitimate as your concern is General, we cannot confirm our current enemy unless we have something to base it on. As of now the most we have are reports of possible mobile dolls.”
The General realized the comment with the mobile doll report when he asked, “Is this from the discovery of former President Kecker’s authorization of the Sol Thero units?”
Malcolm nodded at the possibility, “We feel that this discovery may hold some steady foundation. If we’re correct in assuming so it will mean another conflict from the inside of the Earth Sphere.”
The General accepted the answer when he offered, “I shall hope to see this doesn’t lead to civil war then.”

As soon as the Wing 1 carrier landed in its headquarter location Naina and Dana made their way to the main computer for communications with the President. A screen with Malcolm’s face greeted, “Captain. It is most fortunate to see you have returned. What is the status of Mr. Goslin?”
Naina stepped forward to announce, “I am here to report sir.” She took out the recording from her pocket when she explained, “Neil Goslin shot himself and his wife under the extreme circumstances brought upon them. I was able to acquire some necessary data in connection to the hidden video however. His last words may be enough to show his intentions.”
Malcolm had a look of regret about him when he instructed, “Send the recording to us. We’ll get started on placing it as evidence.”
Naina began to plug the recording device to the computer mainframe when she agreed, “Right away sir.”

|

Once the mobile suits found their way to Kaliningrad Oleg heard McNeil’s request and agreed, “Right away.” The Leo III unit stood out among the hangar remains with its Sol Thero piece and would only be made more evident with the upgrades right behind it.
He made his way for a communication room when he updated Captain Kasantev on his status, “Captain. We’re back in Kaliningrad.”
The Captain responded on the other line, “Good to know. Just wait there for the next two hours or so and we should have the quickest way back to Moscow available. We have a carrier on its way and we’ll be able to get you here safely.”
Oleg was pleased to hear the news of a functioning carrier but was still unsure about heading into the Eastern zone of Coalition Operations. “Is the entire place leveled sir?”
“Not all of it. We managed to hold our own against these mobile suits, but at a pretty hefty cost. We can cancel out any invasion down to the Middle East like the President had us ready for.”
Oleg was still in disbelief over the situation when he asked, “Our forces in Moscow have been the primary base of operations for our offensive mission and contained the bulk of our forces out here. Those things managed to almost level Moscow entirely?”
“Just about. We will be able to offer some assistance for the Kaliningrad forces. We can only hope the President will be able to reorganize our forces at some point.” The Captain answered with disappointment at the situation.
“I hope so as well sir.” Oleg agreed before he signed off the radio. He found his way back into the hangar when he announced, “McNeil. Everybody. You got two hours to prepare for our way out of here. Finish up everything you have left before then and we’ll hopefully find ourselves in Moscow.”

Lord Lindemann was at the hangar close to where the Rogue Wings returned to, receiving news from Germany through the phone. He also also followed by a bodyguard and Blare. "You mean Dusseldorf's forces were wiped out?" He questioned. "I want our forces to regroup and pursue the attackers!" He stopped speaking when he saw Donna getting off. He had more questions himself. "So I heard you went to Dover." He started.
Donna found her father suffering as much as her with his slightly visible crouch. "Naina was after Goslin under suspicion of being an ally of Kecker." She answered. "But I heard that he killed himself."
Lindemann showed his disgust that there were more conspirators. "Despicable." He hissed. "I heard that there's something approaching Brussels and it fought through Dusseldorf. Those things came in from Poland but there were reports that Coalition forces were attacked also."
Donna thought that it may be Kecker's doing. "Is there any footage?" She asked. The Lord presented a short clip of the planet defensers in use. The Mobile Suit that used it were unable to be identified due to the poor quality of the video.

Because the Kaliningrad engineers prepared for the upgrade before Oleg was contacted the procedure was quick. "All done Private." He informed the pilot. "Lads, get ready to leave this forsaken soil!"

A few hours passed when the Wing 1 made contact and dropped off its passengers. With all of their loses recouped the Rogue Wings were given a preview of a full sized hangar again when the new Panther units were loaded into their position.
Mercurio led the new recruits around the hangar bay when he showed, “Obviously we have our mobile suits aligned over here. Key thing to remember about them is to remain with your designated suit only unless a superior officer orders it.”
Zachariah emphasized the requirement, “We’ve had enough volunteer heroes as it is. Most you can ask for is some maintenance advice from fellow pilots.”
Mercurio gestured to Gawel’s computer desk when he added, “Speaking of which if you have any requests just be sure to tell Majewski. He’s got a bit of short temper when he’s working though so give it to him in written form first. That should do it for now. Stay on standby before our next order gets here.” The new recruits dispersed when they made their way to their Panther units and prepared for their next mission.
Mercurio saw Pascal leading some of them while Zachariah asked, “So I want to hear it from you Yuy. Have you found out if Donna is ever going to get back to being her old self? Before all of this she wasn’t anywhere near this inclusive. Same thing has been going for Suchart but it seems like he’s still trying to pull his best effort around here.”
Mercurio wondered about the situation but didn’t have an answer when he said, “She seems to be at ease around Milou for now. Some people might end up being overwhelmed when there’s too many around them.”
“At the same time if Donna loses him she’ll probably be in worse shape than she is now. You know that’s possible right?” Zachariah reminded him.
Mercurio sighed before he answered cryptically, “With how many of us have fallen, I guess so.” He tried not to think about seeing one of his own cousins die given how he had nearly killed Naina himself. “Our mission is to see that we keep one another from dying so that we can fulfill our mission. We can’t afford any more casualties especially when we have so much at stake.” He added in an attempt to bring back the hopeful energy he was known for bringing.
Zachariah took out his water flask when he agreed, “Let’s just hope we still have that luxury.”

Within the Parliamentary Building the Earth Sphere representatives gathered before a hologram of Lucas Lehrer for another meeting. Malcolm stood before him with Relena at his side when he introduced, “Mr. Lehrer. I’m afraid that I must contact you with unfortunate news.”
“Speak freely Mr. Hunter.” The hologram accepted.
“We have sent one of our spies on a recent mission to look into the matter of Neil Goslin. As it has been discovered, he was perhaps the main wrongdoer of our conflict.”
Lucas seemed curious about the case when he asked, “You have only recently discovered this correct?”
“Yes Mr. Lehrer. His connection to Kecker’s policies weren’t traceable until we found the questioned one of our own about a certain case.”
“Will you at least let us see the evidence you have found?”
“We present you the video from our findings.” He played the video found with General Ulbricht’s paper before he continued, “This is Neil Goslin’s recorded words before his death.” The final recording of Neil Goslin’s plans was played for all to hear.
|

The council gathered at 3 Juno saw the two pieces of evidence as the things that both Hermine and Nathaniel Falson had fought for so long to expose. “The Earth Sphere was being used after all…” One of the Generals observed.
“This ought to prove it now. The Falsons are vindicated!”
“We must demand compensation from them now!”
Before the remaining Generals could voice their demands Lucas calmed them, “Gentlemen! We are in a meeting with the Earth Sphere!” As soon as they stopped talking he promised, “We will discuss terms such as these once we have decided who will be held responsible for these past years of destruction.”
Thomas stood at Lucas’s side while he offered his silent comment, “Grandmother… Grandfather… You were both correct all along.”

|

“We have the evidence we need now Mr. Hunter. It is clear now that Kecker is planning to use this Sol Invictus to enact a great act of destruction.” Lucas thanked.
“That is what we wish to warn you about Mr. Lehrer. We may have found what the former president was referring to.” Malcolm held up the plans of the weapon while explaining, “These plans were meant to assist in the terraformation of Mars, but now it seems to have more than just this use. Judging from the trajectory of Kecker’s escape, we have guessed his location.” Malcolm held a map of the solar system when he pointed near the second planet, “If he continues his path our best guess has been to determine his position approximately 3 million miles from Venus. We strongly recommend a possible evacuation of the area as it is likely to be the first target from Kecker’s position. We estimate that you will have about three weeks before it is too late to escape.”
Lucas gave a nodding confirmation, “We shall take your warning with the utmost seriousness Mr. Hunter. If we require any further updates you will be contacted.” before the hologram dissipated from the room.

|

One of the Generals voiced her concern, “What do we do now Mr. President? We do not have the resources to evacuate our entire populace from here in such a short amount of time.”
Lucas thought for a few brief moments before he ordered, “We must make do with what we have at our current disposal. We must put 3 Juno on high alert for offensive action. We must use every scrap we can to prepare an evacuation for Mars.”
Lucas left the council on this order while one of his secretaries advised, “Mr. Lehrer. With the utmost urgency we must see you safely taken to a safe location on L2.”
“Will the colonies be safe from the Sol Invictus’ range?”
“Even the Earth Sphere is uncertain about Kecker’s first target. If he is planning to create the greatest human atrocity we have ever seen, then Earth may be his first target before anything else.”
Lucas sighed before he was forced to agree, “A gamble we have no choice but to agree to.” He found Thomas nearby when he ordered, “Thomas. You must accompany me. I promise the Falson name will not end with you and we will do everything we can to correct humanity’s path.”
Thomas was shaken bust still prepared to follow the order, “Yes Lucas. I will see it done.” He followed him while he asked, “Starting today we must see the acts of these men brought to a halt. We must be able to do something about it?”
“I believe we will Thomas.” Lucas agreed turning to one of the Generals, “Contact Moscow.”

|

Malcom saw the hologram end and announced to the remaining representatives, “The Coalition has been warned. Let us hope that it is now to make a difference.”
Relena agreed with the effort, “Saving what lives we have is more than enough to begin undoing our past mistakes.”
Zlata was the first representative to agree, “Now that we are no longer officially within a war it would seem the only decent action to take.”
Elena voiced her warning, “More so now that this faceless enemy Kecker and Goslin wish to be bears as much weight as it does.”
One of the First Priority members brought the next question, “Shall we at least begin planning for what to do about the Sol Invictus however?”
Malcolm stood in silence before he announced, “As much as it may burden them we must prepare OZ and the Gundams for a desperate final mission. The Sol Invictus must be destroyed.”
Hiram was at the front row when he agreed to the sentiment, “As regrettable as it may be, we should better see a tool of progress dismantled before it seals its history as one of destruction.”
Relena reminded the rest of their path, “The battle plans shall be handled by the commanding officers we have and General Neustadt will provide our main forces with the command necessary.” She looked down before she prayed to herself, “Mercurio… Please return again…”

Gawel and one of the new strategic recruits were looking over the European map and projecting the next possible course. Dana looked over the paths when she asked, “Are we about to meet with the enemy pretty soon?”
Gawel nodded when he confirmed, “Things are not looking so bright out there Captain. We might need something to change pretty soon.”
Dana shrugged at the observation, “How would you like it? Calling those Sol Thero units and asking for a nice round of talks?”
The new recruit answered, “Who wouldn’t by now? But we might have to go on a serious defensive if they keep making their way through our defense lines.”
Dana looked up when she cursed, “Damn. We are not going to have anything left once they’re through at this rate.”
Gawel placed a line between the projected arrows and the two capitals when he estimated, “Just a hop skip and a jump before they get to our guys in Amsterdam.”
Dana began to feel more concerned about the observation but ordered, “Get me Nasir.” Gawel made his way to the communications board when he adjusted the signal to Amsterdam. As soon as it was adjusted Dana began, “Epstein. How’s the border holding up?”
She heard Nasir’s voice on the other line answer, “We haven’t had any enemy contact. It looks like they decided not to show up today.” Before Dana decided to call off the alert she heard him announce, “Hold up. I got some Earth Sphere signals heading our way.”
She kept hold of what ideal scenario there was when she asked, “Can you make out who’s out there?”
“Captain, I think it’s those Sol Thero units.”
Dana tried to make sense of the situation while working through her growing concern, “Sol Theros? How did they get here?”
“No idea. There’s only seven of them now but it doesn’t even look like they seen much action.” There were audible explosions a second after he answered, “Shit! Captain we got contact!” There were several more explosions when he was finished and Dana begun to fear the worst.
“Epstein report!” Dana ordered.
Nasir was still on the other line when he answered, “They just fired a volley on us Captain! It seems like they’re aiming for the space port installments!”
“Those are the only installments?”
Nasir sounded like he was back to normal when he reported, “It looks like it. Oh damn! We need some serious backup right now Captain! We’re getting hit pretty hard!”
Dana ordered, “Hold the line Epstein! Don’t fire unless you’re 110% sure you can kill those things in one shot! We’re getting in there to help!”
“Any time today would be great. Just try not to – oh shit!” Was Nasir’s last words before the signal was lost from another explosion.
Dana turned to Gawel when she asked, “How many of us are prepared to get in there and get our guys out?”
Gawel looked over the recruits and answered, “Not many sir. If we all leave there won’t be anyone to defend the capital.”
“Formation!” As soon as Dana gave the order through the hangar the pilots were lined up and prepared to hear her order. “We’ve got news that Amsterdam is under attack but we have to maintain our defenses here in the capital. Volunteers for the Amsterdam mission?”

Ten hours had passed before the mobile suit carrier brought the remaining Kaliningrad forces to the nearly leveled city of Moscow. The civilian population was all but gone while soldiers and pilots searched the debris for anything useful or missing survivors. The carrier landed against a mound of debris while the pilot checked the area for anything headed their way.
He turned to the Kaliningrad forces greeting, “Here we are. I don’t recommend taking in the view.”
Oleg nodded when he unbuckled and made his way to the landing zone. He saw and older man in a Coalition trench coat waiting for him and several guards behind him. “Captain?” Oleg saluted.
“Tsubarov.” He saluted back. “I take it you would be Lieutenant Kiprotich correct?” He turned asking Tano.

When Dana gave the order to gather the pilots, Milou went to find Donna with Lord Lindemann. "Donna, the Captain wants to speak on another mission." He informed her.
Donna wanted to ask more on the mission. "What's the mission?" She asked him.
Milou jogged his memory. "There's news on an attack on Amsterdam." He remembered. "We'll have to split a number of us to get there and leave some of us behind to defend the capital when those unknown attackers come. I think Amsterdam is attacked by the same people as well actually"
Lord Lindemann listened. "Well the Sandesgeist won't be able to reach there in time." He noted.
Donna saw that her father did have a point. "I'll go tell the Captain that I'll remain in Brussels to assist in the defence." She told Milou. "You're going to Amsterdam with the Aquarius right?"
The Martian gave a nod. "The Aquarius will be quick enough." He reasoned.
Donna returned to the hangar to the Captain's briefing. She lined up among the pilots and Milou returned with her.

***

Tano returned a salute before shaking the Captain's hand. "Yes, that is me." He replied. He surveyed the destruction of the city. It looked as if the Mobile Dolls didn't kill them, the weather would kill the survivors. He thought on President Falson's safety. "Captain, is there any news on President Falson?" He asked. "Is he safe?" Although these were key largest concerns, he would be disappointed with the news.

While the officers were speaking McNeil felt better that he was on the ground again after hours on the airship. What he would prefer would ultimately be the Colonies.

Mercurio was the first to agree to the mission when he said, “I’ll follow you sir.” Right afterwards Milou gave his offer to volunteer while Gawel and Zachariah got their pilot gear ready.
Dana nodded at their offers when she ordered, “The three of us should be enough. Everybody else stay behind. We’ll need as many people defending our capital as possible.”
Naina agreed to the count when she eyed the Tallgeese Heaven, “I’ll remain behind to assist Donna. The system updates should be enough to handle the mobile dolls.”
Roy understood the plan but asked, “Will we even be able to handle against these things?”
Gawel removed a harddrive from his nearby computer when he explained, “The disruption viral systems from the Aquarius should be enough to cut down their effectiveness. If we’re going to gamble our luck on anything it’s gonna have to be on this.”
“Even if it’s only the Zero System it should be enough.”
Dana gave one final speech to the pilots when she explained, “Now listen up new guys. You may have been instructed by the academy to be ready for enemy contact against standard Coalition mobile suits. It’s time for a break in protocol now. These things regardless of your skill as a pilot will kill you. I don’t even mean that as a motivation to do better, these Sol Thero units are built to be that powerful. Unless the interference program works better than we think it might, attack the enemy from a distance and make defending our leaders the top priority. Am I clear?”
The pilots saluted before answering, “Clear sir!”
Dana began to rush towards the carrier when she ordered, “Let’s head out. Our guys need help.”
Mercuiro followed, “Yes sir. Prepared to move out.”
A few moments before takeoff Gawel adjusted the carrier’s jets he announced their time to leave, “Time to get our baby off the ground again.”
Zachariah checked the holding for the other mobile suits when he agreed, “Just make sure it’s ready to pick up some extra passengers. Ideally we get Nasir and the others out of there. Assuming three Gundams are enough to prevent any more damage.”

Malcolm looked over General Neustadt’s report in preparation for the next launch of their forces. Marcel gave his final point, “We may be able to reach Kecker’s location at the Sol Invictus if our course projection is correct. It will take the same amount of time to reach his destination as his own shuttle however. The longer we wait the more window of time he will have to use the Sol Invictus for whatever he has planned. Once Amsterdam is secured we must take begin the launch at the first available moment.”
Malcolm knew the plan was the best they had and signed an order to make it an official order. “What is the current status of our remaining forces?”
The General brought out another paper listing the pilots available for OZ and the Earth Sphere. “We have received confirmation that our remaining forces in Amsterdam have made contact with destructive forces. Our chance to pursue the Sol Invictus will depend on this mission.”
The sudden surge of the enemy from the first reports in Pasewalk to the destruction of Dusseldorf made Malcolm show visible concern whenever it was brought up. “Amsterdam cannot fall now. Can we still send our forces to defend the city?”
“Three Gundams are currently on their way Mr. President.”
“The others?”
The General shook his head when he answered, “We will require them for our own safety sir.” He brought out a copy of the Sol Thero photo with its planet defensors explaining, “We haven’t determined the enemy but we have an idea of what we are dealing with.”
“So this is their mission.” Malcolm cursed. “Assemble the representatives and order our ground forces to evacuate the civilian population that has returned. We cannot afford anyone to be lost.”
“Yes sir.” The General saluted.

The Captain looked at the mobile suits loaded and recognized one of them as the key component his men needed. He pointed to Oleg’s mobile suit when he ordered some of his men, “Get some answers from the technical team on that one. We’ll need as much help as we can get.” As soon as he heard Tano’s question on the status of the President he knew it was time to bring more soldiers to reality. “Regrettable the news has reached so few.” He said to himself. He dashed any final doubts when he announced to the Kaliningrad forces, “I’m afraid that the reclaiming of Brussels resulted in the death of President Falson. Lucas Lehrer has recently taken office as we have just found out about an hour ago. As it seems, both the reclamation of Brussels and the loss of our leaders has permitted the enemy to regain its footing.”
The confirmation weighed on Oleg’s mind when he commented, “If this continues we might not be able to retain our hold on the Earth.”
“We won’t. The President knew defeating the Earth Sphere would hinge on seeing Kecker brought to justice.” The Captain said shaking his head. “What’s more, we have found that even their victory may not accomplish much as their own leader has gone missing as well.”
Despite the questions that were brought to their minds, Oleg and Tano would meet the new President when one of the soldiers announced, “Sir. We have contact from the President.”
Kazantsev nodded when he gestured to them, “Please follow me.”
Within the remains of the headquarters there was one functioning hologram of Lucas Lehrer standing before the Coalition crew. He introduced, “Captain. It is most fortunate to see more of our forces have survived. Have you determined if the shuttle bay will be operational?”
Kazantsev confirmed, “Yes sir. We had a few barely operational mobile suits left but we managed to get the debris out of the way. Should we begin an escape sir?”
Lucas began acknowledged the issue when he answered, “I will accept it as your choice if you feel it the only one, but as of right now we must see a final mission achieved. The odds of returning will not be in anyone’s favor.”
The Captain was reluctant to hear his report but knew this was the sort of mission he had been trained to prepare for. He made certain his gestures on the concept couldn’t be seen when he requested, “Please tell us Mr. President.”
Lucas began by showing the plans for the Sol Invictus to the room’s occupants. “This construction is known as the Sol Invictus. We have learned from the Earth Sphere that this construction is built to be the most powerful weapon humankind has ever produced. It was through the unwitting cooperation of a few Earth Sphere pilots that permitted it to be finished. Worse it was under the turned eyes of the Earth Sphere that the funding and efforts were made to make it possible.” The plans were compressed at Lucas’ shutting hands when he continued, “We are uncertain of its target but we only recognize it is planned to be used for nothing short of destruction.” He commented grimly. He became even more solemn in the report when he explained the stakes, “Much has been asked of our numbers already and we have lost far too much. But if we do not act now, we may risk permitting untold numbers to pay the price of war the Falsons made an effort to prevent. I ask this of all remaining forces. Will you at least make one final effort in fulfilling the mission of the Coalition and prevent this weapon from destroying more lives?”

After the briefing Milou began to help in loading some cargo into the carrier. He noticed Donna about to leave and prompted him to return to her briefly. "Hey Donna." He called and made his way to her. "Take care of yourself okay." He showed his genuine worry.
Donna wasn't able to reply properly, only with whispers nobody could hear. She then wrapped her keffiyeh over on Milou and discreetly kissed him.
Milou was caught off-guard to what Donna did. His conscious of reason was paralysed. "Donna, did you just?"
Donna blushed. "Please come back." She told him. "That was what I was trying to say earlier." She walked away to Sandesgeist.

Suchart was able to see the kiss hidden by the keffiyeh by guessing. "Lucky bastard." He thought. Just as he was returning to loading the crates he saw Walker helping out. "Thank you taking Milou's place." He thanked the young cadet, giving a smile.
Walker gave a salute. "Thank you sir." He replied, saluting to his senior.

Lord Lindemann was back at his makeshift office. This time he was counting the OZ forces for Malcom as he was requested when Donna left. "So the final battle with come..." He thought. "She can be avenged after all those years..." He finished with compiling forces in North America including his sons who would soon return.

Spades were drawn to bury the coffin. The young Lord refused to watch the dirt being filled into the neatly made hole. Stuart and Ulbricht were among those burying the coffin of Lady Lindemann. Once the job was done, most of the people at the funeral left including Lindemann's children were also taken back to the estate against their will. The priest of the funeral, notable with a braid to tie his long brown hair approached him. "Lord, it will be better to leave." He prompted. "It will be raining in a couple of minutes."
The Lord ignored the advice. "Tell me Father." He asked. "Will God avenge her?"
The priest saw how the man was broken. "I'm afriad God may not be able to do that." He responded. "That is the God of Death's job." He left the cemetery in a car, in time as the rain began to fall.
Lindemann walked to where the coffin was buried, seeds of poppies freshly sewn. The tombstone was crafted with granite with gold gilded over, highlighting the name "Lady Griselda Lindemann" so it can be seen from a distance. "The wife of Lord Till Lindemann, mother of Richard, Oliver, Christoph Flake and Donna. Born: A.C. 175, Died: A.C. 206." He didn't care about his surrounding anymore only staring at the gravestone, ignoring the rain above him.
Stuart looked at how his friend stood in once place for minutes. He realised that there is no sign of him leaving and promply ran to get him. "You need to be out of here!" He shouted, grabbing his shoulder. "Your wife died and that doesn't you have the damn excuse to kill yourself!" He forcefully grabbed him out of the cemetery to a car to take him back to his residence.

Stuart's knocking at the door got the Lord's attention. "We're being called assemble by Malcom." He informed.
The Lord realised that he was wasting his time remembering the past. "I'll be on my way." He answered back.

The news of the Coalition leader's death brought great shock to Tano. He felt that his mission failed once again. Thoughts raced on his mind on his recent failures. He was brought out of it when a new mission was brought to him. It was the sense of duty to the coalition that brought Tano away from the despair of defeat. "Yes Mr. President." He replied. "I will fight for the Falson family once more." He gave a salute to commit himself back to his duty.

McNeil complied with the order to bring Oleg's modified machine for analysis. "Looks like someone appreciates my work greatly." He thought. The captured reactor was brought over to be inspected as well. Realising that he will need to answer some questions, he got going to where Oleg's Leo III was being unloaded.

Another two hours passed when the Wing 1 arrived in the airspace of Amsterdam. Zachariah looked over the destruction from below when he warned, “Here we are Captain. Targets are in sight.”
Gawel looked over the targets and saw the reports were correct. “It’s those Sol Thero units alright. Nasir and the others have been doing their best.”
Dana waited in the cockpit of the Artemis when she answered, “We have to move in quick. Prepare for the drop to –“ Before she could finish she saw felt the ship rock from a nearby explosion. She knew they were still in the air but was quick to demand from the pilots, “Report!”
“One of them doesn’t seem to approve our presence sir! I don’t think we can get in much closer!” Gawel reported.
Dana didn’t let herself be shaken when she ordered, “Open the hatch and let us out. We’ll have to make the rest of the way ourselves.”
Gawel began to open the hatch when offered, “Your funeral sir.”
The hatch opened to reveal the source of the explosions. The side turrets were aiming at the nearby missiles coming from below but still managed to lift the ship up from below. The Artemis began to move when Dana prepared her buster rifle. “Stymphalian Artemis Zero prepared for launch!” The Artemis was the first to execute the launch and made the drop.
The Uriel was quick to follow next when Mercurio announced, “Blazing Uriel Zero moving in!” The Uriel came down next following the Artemis behind.
The three Gundams made their way down to the ground offering a view of what the city had become. Many of the buildings had been destroyed while several mobile suits were lying around in scraps. Dana wondered about the survivors before she heard Nasir’s voice announce, “Captain! Never thought I’d be this happy to be rescued!”
Dana activated her radio when she answered, “We’re doing what we can Epstein. Can you give us a report?”
“Other than we are not going to keep this city intact? Putting a dent in these things has been impossible for us. Most we’ve been able to do is suppressing fire.” Dana took aim at the nearest Sol Thero when she saw them moving further into the city. The black units continued to move forward with their gatling guns prepared and firing in various directions.
She contacted him, “Just leave them to us. We’ll make sure they’re stopped. Stay on the defensive and help any civilians you can get to.”
Nasir gave his confirmation, “Roger sir.” The contact broke and Dana checked her radar for possible areas where Nasir and the others were waiting.
She prepared for a surprise attack when she ordered the other two Gundams, “Milou, Mercurio. Head to the west portion of the city and cut off the escape route for those things.” He rifle was prepared when she saw the rifle’s energy reach its maximum finishing, “I’ll show them their first mistake heading in here.”
Mercurio agreed to the tactic when he prepared to move in with his buster sword at the ready. “Yes sir. We should make sure Epstein and the others are okay as well.”
Dana saw the other two mobile Gundams move around the other side of the Sol Theros while she prepared to fire. “This is it! Let’s move in!” She gave the order when she managed to catch the black mobile dolls from behind while the Aquarius and Uriel prepared to move in from the front. The
“They’re too close together. We can’t move in.” Mercurio searched through the debris and found an energy pack among the remains. He was hopeful the pack was what he needed for his only chance at attacking the Sol Theros. “Milou. That pack over there. Can you load it in my back slot?”

Marcel looked over the hologram of the capital battlefield when he saw his forces prepare for the invasion of Sol Theros. He switched to Heero’s signal to receive his hologram, “Report on the enemy advancement.”
Heero reported the situation from the outside, “Identity confirmed sir. We have one squad of Sol Thero units headed our way. Teams are waiting on standby for your orders sir.”
The decision was immediate when Marcel ordered, “Send the Gundams out with an advance team. Do not let the enemy advance any closer to the capital.”
“Understood General. ”

Heero stood atop a building at the edge of the city where he tried to observe the battle while Hyrum waited for his order. He dropped the binoculars when he ordered, “Have the Tallgeese Heaven and Sandesgeist move forward with supporting units. Have the other forces remain behind unless the enemy arrives.”
Hyrum was beside him when he confirmed, “Yes sir. We have our units prepared. We should be able to put up a decent defense if they break through.”
“Have the representatives been moved to another area?”
“Yes sir. They’re being moved to the nearest exit from the city.”
“Return to their position along with the others. Stay ready to move out on the first order.”
Hyrum turned around when he agreed, “On it sir.”
Heero saw Hyrum return to his own jeep relaying the order. He turned around to see the mobile suits moving in closer before he returned to his own vehicle.

The mobile dolls were coming in further towards the city of Brussels while Naina prepared for the first shots. The eight units each had their program process their decision approaching, ‘Target acquired. All systems engaged.’
Naina was the first to order her units, “Advance Team Alpha, prepare to move out.”
Patrick saw the nearest enemy in his sights, “They’re in our sights.”
Roy offered his own silent warning, “We’ll have them toasted soon enough.”
As soon as the Tallgeese was within range of the black mobile dolls she announced, “Dispersing interference program. All units stand behind.” As soon as the program had made its way across the other units she knew it was a matter of time before her allied units would be ready to engage. “The playing field should be even now.”
Naina was the first to determine this truth when she flew forward with its buster rifle at the ready while the nearest Sol Thero unit tried to process its target. ‘Mobile suit confirmed.’ Moments after seeing the Tallgeese rushing in the unit found trouble in its programing. ‘Zero System nonfunctional. Access Denied.’ It made an effort to prepare for the attack when it lifted its gatling gun and prepared its missiles. The Tallgeese fired its rifle at the unit but the Sol Thero managed to deploy its planet defensors in time. The defense worked for the first shot but the energy rapidly depleted with the two shots that followed. The Sol Thero made a dash to the left when it fired its weapons towards the Tallgeese but didn’t last long enough to withstand the final shot.
Naina looked at her buster rifle’s energy and noticed it was almost a quarter depleted breaking through. She warned the other mobile suits, “We’ll have to move in. Those defensors are able to take up more damage than we can offer.” The Tallgeese prepared its rifle for the next target after the order.

Oleg had a lot of information to process in the moment but the reveal of the Sol Invictus was enough to make him consider the situation at hand. If I let this thing pass, I might not have a family to return home to. He thought to himself.
Oleg was behind Tano when he accepted the mission as well, “If only to permit the human race a period of peace. I’ll head in there head first and take down any number of Sol Thero units to give some last minute destruction.
Lucas nodded at Tano’s loyalty when he accepted, “You do not only a great service but also possibly the most important mission of our time. Even if we must ally with the Earth Sphere for this mission we can no longer afford to put our vendetta ahead of our mission. We cannot permit this weapon to be used.” His hands gestured to show the Earth rotating while facing the sun. He pointed to a point near the Earth when he explained, “Within the next hour and a half, Admiral Miles and the remainder of the Coalition fleet will be ready to escort you to the target coordinates. After that it will be your duty to see this deception undone.” He finished his order when he concluded, “I only pray to whatever god watches our actions that it is deemed possible for all of you to return safely. Good luck pilots. This is my final hope to all who have the strength for this mission.”
Kazantsev watched the hologram of the new president fade and turned to confirm the dedication from the two volunteers. “We shall offer what assistance we can to the launch. Ask my men for anything you feel may assist in the mission and we will see it is done if possible within the timeframe.”
Oleg considered what the leading Captain had in mind when he asked, “I take it you have a different plan sir?”
Kazantsev looked outside when he confirmed, “We may have a mission out there, but we also have people down here who need our support. Even if it means turning to the Earth Sphere then we’ll do what we can to assist the remaining survivors in this city.”
Oleg looked down briefly before he agreed to the sentiment, “If that’s the case sir, then we’ll make certain to put in as much effort as you have.”
Kazantsev saluted to Oleg’s commitment, “Talk is cheap enough soldier. Let’s see some actual results out there.”

The engineers looked over Oleg’s altered Leo unit while the leading one found McNeil, “This is something else. Engineer do you think you can show us right methods to making this fix possible?” He showed a plan of an altered Sol Thero unit when he explained, “If we have the right components and synch techniques to make this possible, we might have the resources to scrap up a last minute Gundam of some sorts.”

“Aquarius Wasserman, moving out!” Milou declared as he exited the carrier with the Aquarius. He freefalled into the city until the last few hundred meters that broke the speed of the fall. “Moving as ordered!” He responded to Dana’s next order to move westwards with Mercurio. When Mercurio requested the power pack he got right to it. “Got it cuz!” Milou replied to Mercurio’s request. He grabbed the pack and loaded it into the backslot.

With the order to go, the Sandesgeist dashed through Brussels to the target at greater speed than before. “This is incredible.” She remarked at the Sandesgeist’s improvement. “The Instructor called this Sandesgeist Trabant. Fast like a satellite.” With the speed she was able to find one of the Sol Thero units and activate her own ZERO system. She was able to react to the Gatling fire from the Mobile Doll in time but when was ready to slice with her shotel the Mobile Doll was able to counter with the it’s beam sabre. “The ZERO System…”
A sudden shot at the Sol Thero’s ground got the unit lose balance. Donna took the chance to finish it off, cleanly slicing it in half. She turned to see who fired the shot from behind. “Nice work Suchart.” She commended.
Suchart’s Panther discarded the used sniper cartridge. “At your service.” He replied.

Lord Lindemann received the battle reports being brought to him constantly with no visible end. He had Blare brought with him to monitor his movements and perhaps receive some Coalition wisdom. “So General, how do you think the Coalition would deal with a powerful foe that’s not human?” He asked.

***

Tano replied with a salute. "I made too many mistakes before." He commented. "But I will make this success bring vindication." Left the briefing to return to the hangar. He looked at the Anaconda, the Gundam he will pilot until the end. He reflected on the things that happened since being sent after the Earth-Sphere Gundams, the ambush he planned at the ruins of the Long Colony, the chase and temporary true on Mars, fighting them once again at L4, Luna and eventually Brussels. He travelled an incredibly long journey for his goals but it seemed that his ture mission was hidden in the mist until now: to end the war with the final assault.

McNeil closely examined the plans presented. He had to find a crate to place it over to have a full view of the map. "Twin gatling cannon as the main weapon, missile launchers as support weapon, Beamsaber within shield the close-combat weapon..." He mumbled. "Then there's the shield that will house planet defensers powered by the replacable E-Caps..." He rummed more specifications before returning the plans back. "Aye, we can get this fix." He replied. "We need to get to work now if we want to build this thing lads." He signalled one of his subordinates to bring Oleg's Leo over to begin the build.

One of the Sol Thero units turned its head noticing the Artemis prepared to engage from behind. It evaluated the threat of the third Gundam, 'Enemy unit approaching. Beta units moving in.' The two Sol Thero units parted way from the other units while deploying their planet defensors. The Artmis flew back while aiming its buster rifle and fired several times. Dana saw the shots absorbed by the fields when she cursed, “Come on these stupid things can’t have that much power left in them!” She fired every shot she had while the other two Sol Thero units made their way towards the Aquarius and Uriel.
It took only a few more shots before the Zero system determined the buster rifle shots destroyed the defensor fields. Dana knew another series of shots was out of the question as soon as she saw the system determine the Sol Theros moving in. She prepared her beam saber as they moved in with their gun fire. The Zero System looked into the weaves the two units would make while Dana processed the movements through her mind. In the next moments she made dodged through the gunfire and missiles while preparing the beam saber at every area. The movement was swift when Dana sliced and managed to find the weak point for one unit and saw it fall to the ground sliced in half. The Artemis turned around when it made the final stab to take out the other unit.

Mercurio heard the latches secure within the Uriel's slot when he the motion was taken. It was only a second before he saw the energy bar load to indicate the power to his new gunblade had been charged. "Hah. Thanks for the perfect work Milou." He took aim at the nearest Sol Thero unit when he prepared for his first shot, "Now we've got the full capabilities ready." The shot of energy made its way forward and pierced through the Sol Thero's defensors. Due to the precision of the shot it didn't hit the main reactor unit at the left side of its chest but did bring it to full alert.

The unit scanned the two Gundams before it evaluating, 'Enemy fire above anticipated levels. Possibility of assured destruction 54%. Engaging next available battle plan.' The unit moved back while facing the two Gundams before it fired the available missile sections from its openings along with a volley of gatling gun fire.

The Zero system evaluated the next motions for Mercurio when he saw a possible defense but left Dana caught from behind. He flew back when he prepared his gunblade again and warned, "Captain watch out!" The missiles were destroyed when he fired at the projected points. When the gatling fire came he wove from left to right to avoid the hit before he took aim again and fired three times. The first shot took off its head while the other two managed to hit the main reactor causing the Sol Thero to explode.

Dana turned her mobile suit when she heard the explosion. "How the? That come from you Yuy?”

Mercurio confirmed the action, "It looks like we found the Testudo ammunition sir. These things should be a little easier now."
"How much luckier can we get?" Dana sighed at the discovery. Her relief didn’t last long when she saw the Zero System warn about the nearest Sol Thero prepared to strike at her. The Artemis took its beam saber again and blocked the attack while the Aquarius moved in to assist. “About half way done already.” Dana observed.

Things did not get any lighter for her group when she noticed the Earth Sphere signals were being cut off by a corner of buildings. "Nasir needs our assistance. We should move out." She commanded. Her buster rifle was ready when the three mobile suits made their way further into the city.
Nasir saw his fellow remaining Panther units trying to withstand the attacks from the Sol Theros surrounding them. He looked around while trying to find a way out. Nasir found himself becoming more desperate when he saw no possible escape. "Damn it! How much longer?!" He turned around to see the other Panther units attempting to hold their ground but heard a particular scream from one of the nearby Panther units. "Ludwika!" He turned to his left almost ready to see another casualty. "Cinzia! Hold on!" When thigns appeared most helpless several shots landed on the three approaching Sol Thero units. Nasir was shaken but still managed to ask, "Captain?"
Dana confirmed her presence when the intercom sounded, "Sorry for the wait. You’re still alive right?"
Nasir confirmed, “Yeah. Most of us anyway. We were forced on the defensive once they got here.” He noticed the Sol Thero units preparing a threesided formation before they began to fire their gatling guns. He warned, “Captain! Evasive action!”
Dana ordered the other two Gundam pilots, “Get the lead out! Don’t let them down!” While the Artemis continued to fire its buster rifle.

The Sol Thero units approaching Brussels saw two of their units already destroyed while having already determined the Zero System wasn’t available to them. Their programming determined the next option, 'Hazardous enemy detected. Threat to objective 60%. Enact primary actions.' With this judgment passed the Sol Theros still standing moved away while opening the missile hatches. A volley went forth over the advancing teams while headed for the city the Earth Sphere attempted to defend.
The volley of missiles made their way towards the front lines of defense when one of the pilots warned, "We've got enemy fire incoming!"
Hyrum ordered, "Engage defensive positions! Don't let them through!" The Sol Thero units weren’t able to use precision with the Zero System offline, but they were still able to overwhelm the Earth Sphere units with sheer force. The missiles flew forth and made contact while the line of mobile suits fired every shot to evade them.
Pascal fired at several missiles before he saw four headed his way from above while another three right in front. "Damnit! No! Not now!" He cursed before his mobile suit was annihilated.
Roy saw the destruction of Pascal’s unit when he tried to curse, "This ain't - Ahhh!!!" Were his last words before his unit met the same fate.

Heero didn’t need to hear a report when he saw the missiles make their way to the frontlines but still heard from Hyrumn the damage, "Major! I don't think we're going to hold this place together much longer!"
As if he believed his force could be applied to the defense Heero ordered, "Don't break the lines! The battle is still progressing!"
"Sir we've lost twenty mobile suits already! I don't think our defense will handle another one!"
“Hold the line and don’t let the enemy break through!”
Hyrum seemed to regain his composure when he agreed, “We’ll keep them back sir. We’re going to need some firing support though.”
Heero changed his frequency to the leading mobile suits when he ordered, "Attention advance teams! Enemy engagement is the first priority! Do not permit another volley!"

Naina heard the order and prepared her heat rods for the next attack. "Report received." She answered her uncle. The Tallgeese flew forward when she added, "There will not be a second one." She collided with the planet defensor fields but put in every effort to destroy the black mobile doll. More of the Sol Thero units moved away attempting to find another area to attack their target.

Hyrum saw one of the nearest Sol Thero units approaching the Tallgeese Heaven and knew it was time to make up for their loses. He focused his beam rifle when he ordered, "Concentrate fire on that target! Break through those defenses!"
The Panther units still standing managed to continue firing while one of the pilots asked, "Is it doing anything sir?"
Hyrum remained diligent with the push when he answered, "It's giving our guys out there something. We'll wear away those shields if we keep this up."

The Sol Thero units attempting to find their way back from the enemy fire saw the far back units attempting to undo their shields. 'Enemy fire intensifying. Continue primary objective.' The programming in the Sol Thero units determined this and continued to avoid the two Gundams while firing their missile volley towards the primary line of Panther units.
"Sir! We've got more missiles incoming!"
Hyrum had to consider the next order when he tried to build up the defense. "Shoot them down!"
A few of the missiles were destroyed in midair but the volley was still making its way towards them. "The volley is coming in too fast!" Hyrum grew more desperate when he fired on the missiles hoping to find a quick way out. Fortunately for him there was a blast that made its way towards him. He saw the Tallgeese Heaven fly towards the front lines firing its buster rifle at every missile aimed at the Panther units.
Despite his safety he tried to remind Naina, "Tallgeese! Save the ammo for those shields! We'll never push them back at this rate!"
The Tallgeese turned to return to the battlefield when its pilot assured, "We will. The advance team is moving back for firing support."

Edward looked over the holographic map as the battle progressed. The units were making actions that were supposed to be impossible under any practical situation. He decided to discard any further attempts at strategy when he agreed to answer Till’s question. "As you may have seen, even we were incapable of handling it. Mobile dolls certainly once served a purpose, but I'm certain no one expected them to have a purpose after the later stages of this war." He inserted a thumb drive when he explained the red areas displayed in Europe on a world map. "I was able to look up the recent Coalition activity only to find that there is not even any to report on. All of the signals have been lost." He attempted to control his growing panic when he saw the situation build but managed to be frank about the situation, "As of right now it would seem any potential allies we could have mustered on the eastern portion of Europe are nonexistent while the North American forces are too far away to do anything."
Marcel didn’t show as much concern when he commented, "If the worst should come to it we may have no other choice then to rendezvous with them."
Edward did his best to contain his interest when he asked under his concern, "And how might that be? Do we have a backup plan?"
Marcel didn’t explain the plan when he answered, "We shall permit the defense to pass for now. Our next step forward will depend on the status of Amsterdam."

An hour had passed while Oleg saw the other pilots gathered and prepared for their launch into space. One of the pilots voiced the sentiment when she comemtned, “It’s not like we’re fighting for anything now at this point are we?”
Oleg walked up to her when he answered back, “If you need something to fight for then consider how anyone will want to live in space with a giant construction that’s supposed to have a huge punch behind it.”
Another one of the pilots confirmed the need, “Everybody has family in space at this point. We can’t just assume this is another mission.”
“Good to see some people know this.”
“If anything we might get some kind of vindication from the Earth Sphere’s perspective.”
Oleg pointed to the mobile suits prepared to be loaded when he commented, “Just remember that we do not lay our arms down until it’s over.”
One of the pilots nodded in confirmation when he prayed, “Let’s just hope there’s enough of us to live long enough to that ending.”
Oleg walked down to the hangar bay where he saw the a giant dark mobile suit standing in place of where his Leo originally ways. “Damn. Something going on with my mobile suit?”
He saw one of the engineers confirm, “Sure is Private. We had a pyrrhic victory here in Moscow but doesn’t mean we can’t throw flames back at the ones who made them.”
Oleg felt a brief sense of security and pride knowing he was on the same level as Tano again. He thanked, “If we’re going down then we might as well go down with another Gundam at our side. McNeil should know that this will be a big factor in what’s coming.”
The engineer prompted, “Then let’s see if you can make it rain out there in space Private. Show them what the power of the Golem is capable of bringing.”

With the new order the Aquarius began charging at a Sol Thero with the heat rod activated. The Mobile Doll's arm was binded by the weapon and was tore off with strength. The fighting style of the Aquarius was different to how he fought with the Panther previously. "I'm fighting as someone else?" He thought. The Sol Thero he was fighting was finished off with a point-blanc Dober-gun. "This Gundam doesn't have the Zero-system but something different."

Lindemann listened to Marcel. "I have high hopes for Brussels' defence." He assured. "We have a Gundam on our side along with OZ forces."

"Sinclair team, initiate strafing run!" Stuart ordered from a Commander's Griffon. "We can only provide distractions for the Gundam and the Tallgeese!"
The massive bomb drops were dropped by Griffons above the skies but the Sol Theros defended themselves with the planet defensers. Once the bombs stopped one countered the bombers with the gatlings, shooting a few down with a few shots hitting the Parliament building with minor damage. Donna was able to use the distraction to bisect the Mobile Doll to prevent further damage. "

The minor damage shook the command centre with several personnel shaken. The Lord stood as he was used to it. "The Parliament did prepare for massive blasts it seems." He commented. "I think I will view the battle from the rooftop. General Blare, accompany me." He left the room to climb the stairs to the roof. He found observing the battle from there better and he still had his headpiece to receive reports from.

McNeil was wiping his sweat from the work he did in the hour. "The Golem Gundam may be a last-minute creation but I guarantee it's the Coalition's Engineering Corps' Magnum Opus." He explained as he grabbed a glass of water. "The twin gatling gun was given the feature with barrels divided between solid projectiles and beam. The shield holds the planet defensers but to make sure it's high energy doesn't deplete the Golem's power economy, they are powered by rechargable E-Caps. We also took the liberty to add missile pods around the arm and legs for extra firepower without worrying on power. One of the engineers thought of the name and with the symbolism of how the Golem was created by a rebellion so I went along."
Tano caught the sight of the Golem. He also couldn't believe at how it was able to be created at the eleventh hour. "McNeil, I didn't know this was even possible."
The engineer gave a smile. "I'm among the best of the Engineering Corps. I was in the Tetsudo for a bonnie reason."

Nasir saw the destruction of the three Sol Thero units before him and sighed with visible relief when he contacted Dana, "Thanks Captain. Never thought we'd get out of this one alive."
Dana shook off the offer when she answered, "It was a failure for us to not get here soon enough. Something of this city is still standing right?"
Nasir checked the ruins of the city through his camera when he agreed, "Yeah. It's something. We probably managed to stop these things from reaching our forces in Brussels though and that’s probably the key strategic advantage we have now."
Cinzia was the first to point out the issue with this tactic when she entered, "If that was their plan did they just land in an inconvenient place?"
Nasir groaned before he answered, "If they did I don't think they would have tried decimating the city as well. It’s not like we’d be able to interrogate them anyway."
Dana requested a report against the speculation when she asked, "How many capital forces are still alive?"
Nasir looked over the forces when he answered, "Probably next to none. They were all over the space port like it was nothing and reduced it to nothing." He sighed before continuing to chastise his own failure adding, "We weren't able to do anything Captain. They sent their missiles right over our heads."
Dana took things easy on Nasir when she told him, "I don't blame you. These things are able to take down more than we think. The leaders back home are not going to be happy with this though."
Mercurio checked the Sol Thero units were finally taken down and saw nothing but the continued burning of the wreckage around him. Even with the small success he knew the next challenge was going to be much more difficult unless the leaders had a plan. "We should make our way back Captain. We'll have to send them the bad news firsthand."
Dana showed no signs of protest when she agreed, "Time to get it over with then." She switched the Artemis’ signal to the carrier when she ordered, “Get us out of here Majewski. Ground forces are completely cleared out. Unfortunately we don’t have much to carry home.”

Gawel heard the command before he responded to his superior, “Roger that Captain. We’re moving in.”
Zachariah looked over the ruins on his side of the carrier when he asked, “So how many of them are still standing? You got a view over there?”
Gawel looked down when he answered, “Four. Got to admit that’s more than I thought they could handle.”
Zachariah rubbed his sweaty temples when he commented, “Just when we needed a turn for the Coalition to take a beating we end up being punished by something we built.”
“Doesn’t matter who did what, as soon as I find out who’s behind their altered programming I’m going to send somebody to meet their maker earlier than scheduled.”
“You think these things weren’t programmed by Architect I to do this?”
“The guy’s about shady enough to be a suspect but I’m not going to rest my entire case on him.” The conversation ended when Gawel found himself right above a clearing for the remaining units when he reported, “We’re landed Captain. Bring all survivors on board and we’ll take you on home.”
He heard the Captain’s confirmation when she answered, “Good work Majewski. We’re headed there now.”

The number of Sol Thero units continued to dwindle when Hyrum and the others continued to fire on the planet defensors. "We've got them on the run! Deplete everything!"
One of the pilots continued to fire while reporting on the problem of the defensors, “I can’t even tell if our shots are doing anything sir! It looks like those shields will take more than anything we have!”
“Better than lining up to die! Their shields won’t last so long against the Gundams though so keep firing!” Hyrum ordered as he continued every shot made.
Two of the Sol Thero units saw the thinning line of Panther units and evaluated their next move once they fired their last missiles. 'Bombardment ammunition depleted. Initiate final run.' They lifted their gatling guns and fired in both directions while building energy into their core system.
One of the pilots recognized the issue when he moved his unit back from the incoming storm. "The hell? Sir two of those things are headed right for us."
Hyrum stepped back and saw the immediate threat to their unit. "They're self-destructing! All units fall back!" He ordered. The volley of gatling fire continued to hit the escaping Panther units while they took the last available cover behind the buildings.
"Stop this!" Naina commanded when she swooped in with the Tallgeese Heaven. She fired twice with her buster rifle on a Sol Thero unit, the first shot breaking the planet defensors with the second one leaving a hole and an obliterated reactor. Before firing again she found her buster rifle had run out of ammo when the signal illuminated on her panel.
The Tallgeese dropped its buster rifle while preparing its heat rods in a cross-swipe towards the remaining Sol Thero unit. Before it could get close enough to the Panther line the Tallgeese sliced and saw the Sol Thero fall into pieces with its reactor destroyed. Naina saw the remains below and in that moment saw how final the mission was. These units were made to carry out their mission, this one being the destruction of Brussels, and with nothing to follow after. "This is what separates us. Anyone piloting these would consider the consequences of such an act."
She broke her contemplation when Hyrum ordered the Panther defenses, "Keep focus on the city! We've got missiles incoming!" The missiles flew over her head when he gave the warning.
Naina leaped up into the air with heat rods at the ready while warning, "Donna. Please watch my six. I have to take these ones out at close range."
Upon the flight of the Tallgeese a column of missiles were destroyed with its ascension as its heat rods swiped across the sky and made contact. The missiles continued to fly but were either shot down by the line of Panthers or completely missed their target. Naina searched through every pattern the Tallgeese could find and saw the few moving past their lines would only manage to hit the unpopulated areas.

Heero endured the shockwave when he kept his balance pressing the bicep of his injured arm against the wall of his hangar. He looked around to see the ground soldiers still scrambling to make the way clear for the Wing 1 carrier when he requested, "How many of our forces are still out there?"
One of the men saluted, "Not many sir. We might have to enact the evacuation soon. Second Carthage should be easy to pull off if we're ready."
Heero forced himself to stand on his own while still holding his injured arm commenting, "I hoped we wouldn't have to endure this in the first place." He gathered his leadership when he ordered, "Get our other carriers ready to fly. We need to prepare for a two day flight."
One of the soldiers questioned the order, "You think we'll be clear for this sir?"
Heero didn't bother with disciplinary action at this time when he answered, "Brussels has officially become too much of a hotbed for our forces. The Parliament is going to be ready for an evacuation anyway. Get the remainder of the supplies and equipment ready."
The remaining questions were answered for the men when they agreed, "Yes sir."
Heero saw the carriers loaded while observing what remained of the city. When he turned to the city again he saw the three things he had secretly attempted to keep safe this whole time. "Relena?" His duty was to the Earth Sphere, but the fight was still nothing without his wife or his daughters Helena and Selena.
Relena ran up to him when she asked, "Heero. Is it true the evacuation is about to take place?"
Heero confirmed her concern, "We don't have the numbers to maintain the city for much longer. Quebec City will be our only choice then. It should be safer there at least."
Helena broke into their conversation when she warned, "Dad you have to let mom on. You know she won't leave until you agree."
Heero turned to her when he answered, "I've known her long enough to confirm that sweetie. Just don't let any of the others bother you while you're up there."
Selena dashed away any concern when she added, "She's got nothing to worry about dad. We just want to make sure you don't end up being trapped again. Or at least you won't be without us."
"Things I do for my kids." Heero said shaking his head. "Wait for the official announcement from the General. We'll move out once we hear from him."

Edward heard Till's request and had an initial feeling of accusation he had to suppress. He still managed to control himself when he agreed, "Yes of course." He followed his new superior up to the rooftop while following close behind.
Upon the rooftop he had a decent view of the battle while seeing what missiles continued to make their way into the city. One hit particularly close to the Parliamentary Building and it caused him to flinch from the sudden explosion. "Hn... Damn. I certainly hope this is part of a greater strategy. Pretty soon there may be nothing left of this city." He said commenting on the destruction around them.

Oleg was in equal impressment with McNeil’s work when he considered the technical areas of the new Gundam he had to work with. “I’ll certainly never call you a minor part of this war McNeil. I’ll make sure this thing is able to deal enough damage to the enemy while we’re up there.”
As soon as he made this promise he heard Kazantsev announce to the base, “Attention all forces. The shuttle bound for rendezvous with Admiral Miles is prepared to launch in thirty minutes. Prepare all final preparations before launch.”
Oleg prepared himself for the next launch commenting, “Destiny is calling us right now. Let’s hope it manages to answer the Captain’s prayer.” He turned to see another six pilots waiting next to the hangar door entryway before asking, “So you guys are hoping to add something to the Coalition’s final mission?”
One of the pilots stepped forward when she confirmed, “We’re adding as many of our best pilots as we have sir. Some of us still want an Earth to return home to while some of us want the colonies to be an ideal living place again.”
“Don’t we all?” Oleg agreed. He corrected her when he pointed out, “By the way I’m a private like any of you guys.”
The pilot took back her comment when she added, “Uh right. From everything we’ve been through though it just seemed kind of a reflex is all.”
Oleg didn’t show any signs of aggression when he just brushed it off, “We’ll have a better idea of who to promote after all of this is done. Let’s get our stuff loaded, it’s going to be a long journey.” Various comments of confirmation rang through the pilots when they moved to see the supply carts load to the shuttle outside.

Milou also received the news of the spaceport's destruction. "Damn it." He thought. "The planning across the years are dangerously planned well..." He asked a question to the Captain that may not help. "Captain, isn't there another spaceport we have access to?" He questioned her. "We must have elsewhere to go for launches."

Donna activated Sandesgeist's new flight mode. The large fins began unfolding to turn into the flight boosters. Once the transformation was done she followed Naina's lead while keeping a close eye on attacks from behind. The ZERO system alerted her of the missiles, allowing her to shoot some of them down.

Lord Lindemann was not shaken by the explosion nearby. "Were you a soldier before?" He asked Edward. "If you were one then you should be used to this." He observed how the missiles were intercepted. "We can't afford to lose this war anymore. Kecker's Mobile Dolls must be stopped." He looked at the general. "Should I trust that you have the same feeling as well?"

Dana knew Milou's question was the first thing she had to contemplate when her men got back. She answered with as much realism as possible, "We better have one. If we don't we've just about lost every cause we had." She considered her options when the other pilots made their way to the carrying areas.
Gawel added another question to the scenario, “If we do have another one then what’s keeping the mobile dolls from trying to take out those ones?”
Dana stopped at the enterance of the cockpit area when she answered, “Might not have reached the area yet or they have to put up with more forces than anticipated. Let’s hope it’s enough to go out there again.”
Zachariah was the next to wonder, “Would you say we’re headed for another trip to Rome Captain?”
“I’ll have to ask the General about it. Just get us back home for now.”
Gawel strapped himself into the pilot seat when he agreed, “Easy enough.” With the order given the carrier made its way out of the ruins and back to Brussels.

Nasir, Cinzia and the others made their way to the crew holding area of the carrier when their Panthers had deployed in the hangar bay. Mercurio met with them when he introduced, "It's good to see some of you have made it this far. We believed the Sol Theros would have completely destroyed the city area."
Nasir disagreed with the sentiment when he pointed to the ruins outside the plane window, "They basically did. Not to mention took out our chances of getting to Kecker's location."
Cinzia stepped forward to remind him, "They could have either helped us and gave the forces in the capital an advantage or let us end up like Ludwika and the others while getting flanked again. This is why we spread our forces when necessary."
Mercurio looked out the window regretfully hearing Ludwika’s demise. "I see... If I had the chance to I would have made sure everyone came back safe. Now I'm not sure how many of us will still be here when this has ended."
Nasir sat down when he contemplated his regret, "Go figure. Sorry to be the one to break this to you but this war has not been letting up on us. It doesn't even look like Kecker wants to consider letting it down either. And that’s considering we’re going to make it past the end of this." Mercurio saw the man’s face and knew there was nothing he could do to convince him out of his disappointment.
Mercurio turned to the new soldiers who had just seen the carnage below when he told them, “Try not to let this day get you down. I’m sorry to say that we’ll be facing more like this.”

Edward turned to answer Till’s questions, "Of course. I do try to be realistic for the most part however. Just considering all of these factors is rather tricky at times. Even if we did have a strategy against mobile dolls I don’t believe we had one against these sort of otherwise impossible tactics." He was more prepared for the second question when he brushed off the suggestion, "In order to even consider sympathizing with Kecker's plans I'd have to have an inkling of an idea of what he's doing."

Naina turned to the left when she saw the missiles were no longer firing and began to make her way down to the ground. She saw the final two Sol Thero units were now only reduced to offering gatling fire to the frontlines in an attempt to break through. Naina knew what would happen next if they were left standing and prepared the Tallgeese for a final dash to the ground. She contacted Donna, “Take the one on the left. Just try to avoid their blades.” The two mobile suits dashed forward with their respective close range weapons and in two final swipes saw the end of their enemies.

The long moments passed before Edward found there was no longer anything to worry about when the last Sol Thero fell at the hands of the Sandesgeist and Tallgeese. “Well the defense certainly wasn’t bad. If our only choice is to simply remain here then we might have a chance.” He commented on the final defense. He turned to Till asking, “I suppose if there is anything else to anticipate we should keep watch for our men?”

Two hours passed before Wing 1 descended to the landing area it came from while the remaining pilots tried to come to terms with their recent losses. Mercurio saw Zachariah took the news on Gilliam’s demise quite hard while only a few of the new recruits managed to gather with something less than total shellshock. Among the sights he began to notice just how little he wasn’t moved by the situation. All of these sights had become something of an everyday occurrence by now along with several others.
Mercurio descended to the ground when he saw the Earth Sphere soldiers preparing the landing pad for escort and it seemed to be larger than any he saw before. The number of carriers suggested an exodus when he saw several politicians found their way onboard. His thoughts were interrupted when he saw Naina meet with him. “Hey, from the looks of the city it looks like it at least managed to survive another invasion. I’m glad you were here for us Naina.”
Naina nodded to the compliment when she asked for his experience, “Was Amsterdam saved at least?”
Mercurio leaned on one of the hangar walls when he crossed his arms and answered, “Probably enough to rebuild. I don’t know if we’re going to make it into space now.”
Naina lightly sighed when she considered, “It does explain how Kecker was planning to keep anyone from following him. Any but the most secure areas are probably our only chance for pursuit now.”
“At least hoping we can make it. Did you at least manage to find out anything about his target?”
“I couldn’t find anything. Whatever the Sol Invictus is supposed to destroy will be a sizable target however. No one builds something this massive with the intention of destroying one minor establishment.”
“We’ll probably only figure out about it once we find it. After that we can meet like regular cousins right?”
Naina met his eyes when she agreed, “I would enjoy that. If I could have changed anything about our first meeting I probably should have revealed myself to begin with.”
Mercurio waved a hand when he conceded, “I should have been the one to trust you. If I had then Kecker probably wouldn’t be out there right now.”
“Then Golsin would have slipped under our noses because of it.”
Mercurio felt himself stumped at the idea when he had to consider such an inevitable fate. “Guess there is a consequence to every action after all. Probably just a question of why Neil didn’t make the launch anyway.”
Naina corrected him further when she answered, “It’s a question of meeting with the Solaris at the same time. The mirror it is meant to line up with is not exactly a choice for finding shelter in space regardless of the time it takes. Especially considering how old he was.”

Dana saw one of the pilots rush up to report, “Captain. We’ve got a transmission from General Neustadt. Requesting your report.”
“Well if there’s going to be anyone to break the news…” Dana said before she made her way to the nearest projection device.
A hologram of General Neustadt appeared before Dana when he greeted, “Captain. It is fortunate to see that you have survived. Please tell me you have good news in regard to the recent mission.”
"We managed to extract some of our forces from the city General. Unfortunately we weren't able to secure our main objective. The Sol Theros managed to destroy the spaceport before we could get there in time."
The General didn’t give a verbal chastisement when he shook his head, "Most regrettable. It doesn't seem anything could have been done to realistically undo this destruction however." He returned his face to her when he explained, "We could have requested that all of your forces move in to secure the city and risked losing our lives here today or remained here and face a more desperate battle from another side. Perhaps we have only managed to avoid the worst this scenario could offer."
"We need to get to space sir. Are we at least able to make our way to Rome for launch?"
"Our forces are at too much risk in Europe now to remain here. The current mission as of now is to enact the Second Carthage Protocol."
The first mention of the protocol had Dana curious about the decision but remained at attention when she asked, "With foremost concern at hand sir what is this protocol for?"
"To move the Parliament and what remaining Earth Sphere officials remain to Quebec City in its second stronghold. If we had prior knowledge of the Testudo's position it would have been enacted beforehand. Hopefully the attacks from the Sol Theros will be lighter before the attack continues."
"Is a spaceport there sir?"
"St. Johns has the port that will provide transport to your team at Kecker's coordinates. Upon arrival their position will mark the ideal time to align with Kecker's destination."
Dana began to feel some more confidence brewing in her when she affirmed her dedication, "Just a slight delay then. Better than just waiting here I guess. I take it we have the transport prepared for a trip that far away?"
"Major Yuy and the remaining forces have prepared several carriers to be ready for the travel. I suggest you inform you men to be prepared for another journey."
"Understood General. We'll be ready when everyone else is."
The General gave a final nod before he concluded, "The order will be issued in the next half hour. Have everything loaded by then. We'll see to it that the mission goes back as scheduled. Dismissed." The hologram faded and it left Dana to explain the news.

Dana stood near one of the crates to substitute as a podium when she announced to the soldiers, “Listen up everyone. We’re being asked to follow through the Second Carthage Protocol. Simply put this city of ours is too busted to be defended anymore. So you’re about to travel to the other side of the world to get a chance to launch into space. Prepare for the flight, it’s going to be another two days before we reach it. And everyone see me after we take off. I have to discuss a few things with all of you. This final mission of ours is that important to elaborate on. We leave in another half hour. Dismissed.”

Malcolm considered the protocol on the faded war desk when he asked Marcel, "Our forces have no other option then?"
"Not without risking the Parliament to the possibility of further Sol Thero attacks."
"We still may have to endure attacks from the Coalition forces from New Brunswick and Pennsylvania."
"The odds of facing the Coalition and hopefully informing them of our plight is a safer option then attempting to protect a further ruined capital. I must press that you consider this option as our only chance to maintain the integrity of the Earth Sphere."
Malcolm looked down in deep thought on the desk before he came to another decision. The wear and strategizing had been demanding for the past few days alone but the decisions only continued to demand more of him. If I am carrying even a fraction of what Kecker once had… He looked up before he faced the General, "If it must be so then I will follow through. Gather the Parliament and inform them that Second Carthage is now in act. Ensure this message is met with every civilian so they may leave as soon as possible."
Marcel saluted, "Very good sir. Our forces are anxious to see the next chance to being their pursuit."
Malcolm gathered his materials before he walked along with the General agreeing, "As are we all. If Kecker can be stopped this evacuation will be our wisest option."

Milou got out of the carrier and noticed Donna. "Looks like you defended the city well." He commented. "Wish we did better."
Donna raised an eyebrow? "What happened?" She asked. "I thought the city was saved."
The Martian gave the bad news. "Well the spaceport is now unusable." He explained.
The Gundam pilot showed disappointment with the news. "That mean we won't be able to go after Kecker then." She said with a slight upset tone.
Walker went around with some updates. "The Captain wants us for an announcement again." He informed. He still looked naive as before but it may be an act to hold his group together.
The news brought them to Dana so they can hear new orders. After they were given, they returned to where they were. Donna was also reminded to see Instructor W. "I should see the Instructor." She told Milou. "He should receive the order as well." She left to find the Instructor having a break from repairing Mobile Suits. He didn't hide his eyes this time with the goggles. "I didn't know your eyes were that good." She remarked.
The Instructor took a sip of his coffee before answering. "I don't really show my eyes to much people anymore." He explained. "I guess you're one of the lucky people to see them since the Falson War. You wanted to see me?"
"There's the order for Second Carthage." She gave the information.
The Instructor knew what it meant. "Got it." He answered. "I'll get ready to pack soon then."

Lindemann understood what Blare said. "I trust our men." He replied. "We were first united under the hopes to revive OZ but now what binds the organisation is retribution."
An official walked to the roof with news. "The Parliament is gathering for an announcement by the Acting President." He informed before returning.
Lindemann gave a simple nod. "We'd better get going then." He said, leading the way.

Dana saw the Artemis loaded into the bay of the Wing 1 when she found Mercurio prepared to make his way to the entryway. She made her way down when she asked, “Yuy, I think you remember that message we got from Architect I right?”
Mercurio turned around to answer, “Yeah, it’s been a while since we brought it up.”
“Here’s the thing, after what we faced in Amsterdam I think it might be a good idea to find out what he has to say.”
“You think his message has something?”
“He couldn’t have accidentally sent one to you knowing what I was piloting.”
“I guess I could.” As Dana and Mercurio made their way to the Artemis, neither of them were prepared for what they were about to see.

Malcolm was at the head of the leading carrier where the Parliament was gathered while he waited for the liftoff to commence. His gaze was interrupted when Devine entered, “Mr. President, we’ve received a status update the equipment and mobile suits have been gathered.”
“Good work. Be sure to issue the quarantine warning on the city for now.”
“Right away sir.” Devine walked to one of the nearby panels when he followed his order.
As soon as Malcolm saw the leaders outside were prepared for the liftoff he activated his computer terminal to contact the remaining military personnel. “Attention military leaders of the Earth Sphere United Nations. The Second Carthage Protocol is now in effect. Our capital has become too much of a target with the Sol Theros and insistent members of the Coalition determined to destroy us. We will however have the chance to prevent ourselves from enduring another siege when we regroup in Quebec City. The Coalition is currently situated in the Americas, but the defenses of our city will be capable of holding their own against any attacks. It is my hope that we will be able to hold our own here until Kecker’s intentions have been made clear and brought to a halt. This may not end the war, but it will hopefully bring us a step closer to discovering what we were lured into executing. The organization for Earth Sphere and OZ forces is available for all leaders to assign their men. Prepare to leave shortly, we must permit our main forces to prepare for their mission as soon as possible.” When he was finished he turned to Devine asking, “Have our forces been organized according to assignment?”
“Yes sir. The Gundams have been loaded to the head of the fleet and Major Yuy has escorted the Representatives to their transport. Berlin Central Command now confirms that Second Carthage is in effect. They will be able to operate efficiently while we are away and have been informed to make contact with any Coalition forces under the same conditions according to the terms of friendly engagement.”
“It is truly regrettable that our capital must fall this way. It will be better we survive to the end so that our people have someone to look up to.”
“One day the people will be able to rebuild their lives. We must only begin with defending them and what forces we have.”

Edward had some time to himself when he entered his personal room on the carrier before two of his guards entered. He commanded without greeting, “So it has been decided that Quebec is our next destination after all. Once we arrive leave all activity with the Coalition to me. I want none of you to contact them regardless of our situation.”
One of them brought out the first concern asking, “With all due respect sir, are you certain you haven’t thrown in your cause to the Earth Sphere?”
Edward gave a brisk of his hand when he denied, “You may dismiss any such concern. I am only doing what I may find possible in order to survive for now. These failures we have endured only serve to relieve this planet of the incompetent.”
“And this trip to Quebec is set to further that strategy?” The other guard asked.
Edward turned in his chair to face the table when he answered, “With any luck the Sol Theros will be present in the Americas as well. Otherwise our forces in New Brunswick will see them destroyed. Only then I will have the grounds of calling myself a true General and Coalition leader.”
“I see. The strategy depends on letting the Gundams into space while we find our way to the enemy capital. Once they leave we won’t have to worry about anything but our Earth Sphere captors. The Sol Theros would probably still be a problem if they’ve landed.”
As Edward considered his answer his face became melancholic when he remembered the proper quote for this situation. “It will be seen today that we permit the deer into security whilst I the wolf lie in wait for the proper moment.” He returned to his thoughts of planning when he turned to face them demanding, “Of course I should assume if any of you have loyalty to the Coalition you will not let anyone know of this plan other than ourselves.”
They both saluted when they answered, “Yes sir. The new President will approve of this takeover.”
Edward was pleased with himself when he saw his plan unfolding. “Provided that we see this strategy proceeds as planned. Once it does however then we will have what remains of Earth civilization in my hands.”

Relena saw the other representatives continued to wait for takeoff when she looked for her husband. Heero was at the head of the cockpit area where the President was when she asked him, “Heero. Can you please find the one where our son is?”
“He’s on Wing 1 with the others. Their forces will be dropping once we pass over St. Johns.” He answered seeming to already know.
Despite everything she knew about the procedure Relena pleaded, “Please. Give me a chance to speak with him before he goes.”
“No.” Heero answered. With everything that happened Relena didn’t want to make such a request an issue but found it wasn’t necessary. He placed a hand on her shoulder when he finished, “We’ll contact him together.”

Dana was at the cockpit with Gawel and Zachariah as they prepared the engines and programmed the autopilot. She looked at the schematics for the new buster rifle on the Artemis she displayed earlier while asking, “How soon do you think it can be done?”
Gawel was the first to answer, “If we ask real nicely at St. Johns we might have the materials necessary. After that construction won’t be much of an issue but test firing at this point is pretty much a no go. You’ll have another field test to do it looks like.”
Dana accepted this situation, “Good enough. If anything we won’t just be throwing sticks and stones at the Sol Invictus.”
Zachariah entered the conversation when he asked, “Seriosuly the way we keep finding tech along these lines is just crazy. You’re still not willing to tell us who gave you this?”
Dana shook her head explaining, “Yeah. It’s a pretty touchy subject right now.”
Zachariah turned to the schematics again when he accepted, “If you say so sir.” He saw the communications panel light up when he responded into the microphone, “This is Wing 1 reporting.”

Nasir strapped himself to his seat when he looked outside at the capital observing, “Well this is it. If we’re lucky at all this might be our last mission.”
Mercurio answered in a slightly downcast tone, “It has been for many of our men. I don’t want to see any more of us die but if we might have to take that risk again.”
Keijo was next to him when he asked, “Feeling okay Mercurio? Sound like something has you down.”
Mercurio leaned back slightly while he looked as if he was trying to solve a difficult puzzle. “I guess some revelations are just a bit much to take in before they can be explained. Sorry.”
Cinzia seemed to overhear the problem when she offered, “We’ve all had some of those. Maybe tell us when you feel ready then?”
Mercurio nodded when he promised, “Sure. I can do that. Not sure if I can say when though.”
Dana made her way to the holding area for the pilots when she notified, “Hey Yuy.” Mercurio stood up to see Dana was holding a small hologram projector when she continued, “You got a private call from one of the carriers. The back room can give you the silence you might need.”
Mercurio accepted it when he confirmed, “Thanks sir.” He wasn’t sure what the privacy would be needed for but he decided it might be a good time.
It was only a moment before he found out why he was offered the chance. He saw a hologram of his mother, father, and two sisters Helena and Selena to greet him. Relena was the first to introduce, “Mercurio. Having a chance to see you again was such a relief. It’s so regrettable it had to be so short.”
Mercurio smiled when he agreed, “Thanks mom. I never thought I’d have to help save you myself but you’re safe now.”
Selena showed her enthusiasm for the moment when she reminded him, “Yeah you had to help dad when mom was at gunpoint. This is probably the closest thing to one of their old days we got to hear.”
Helena grabbed her arm when she reminded, “Selena, mom and dad were having a moment with Mercurio. Besides you forget dad got shot so it’s not glorious.”
As if to break away Relena’s control of the message Heero separated the twins with his good arm when he said, “Girls, I’d do it again if I had to. It’s not anything that goes against my duty.”
Mercurio responded to the answer, “I heard one time you wouldn’t even consider doing that.”
Heero sighed when he agreed, “A lot happens even in just a few years Mercurio. I never even thought I would have to be out there again.”
“I’d say you did the best you could considering everything.” Mercurio reminded.
Heero kept his injured arm in a safe position when he agreed, “I guess I did.”
Selena was quick to point out, “Yeah you did. Don’t be modest about it.”
“Don’t interrupt them.” Helena prompted.
Heero cut them both off when he said, “So your mother wanted to make this call. I think I’ll let her speak now.”
Relena came forth with her question, “Mercurio. Do you know how long this mission will be?”
Mercurio thought briefly before answering, “I’ll be gone another six weeks if the calculations are right. It’s going to be a while before anyone finds out who’s coming back alive.”
Heero reminded, “Whatever happens out there, just remember everything I told you.”
Relena was next to point out, “And remember who you have to return to.”
Mercurio gazed into their projections when he promised, “I’ll make sure to. I’ve lost a lot of friends on my way through here but I’ll bring as many of them back as I can. We’ll all get the chance to return to Earth.”
Relena didn’t give her next command with the motherly concern Mercurio expected but saw her with the face of a mother who fully accepted her son being sent to war. “If this is the case it will be another long while before we see you again. Mercurio, when you return please come to the city. Even if it’s just for another few moments I want us all together again.”
Mercurio gave a simple few words that anyone would wish to hear in this moment, “I promise I’ll be back.”
Relena lifted her hand in parting, “Goodbye Mercurio. My son.”
Heero parted, “Good luck out there. Make us all proud.”
Selena added, “Remember us when we’re out there.”
Helena promised, “We’ll make sure everyone hears about you up there.”
Mercurio ended the call when he offered, “Goodbye. I love you guys.” The hologram disappeared while Mercurio made his way back to his seat. Moments passed before the carriers one by one made their way off the ground and towards the west where the new capital would await them.

Donna noted how Mercurio was able to speak to his parents, both alive and well with how the Captain called him to answer them.
Milou found Donna in her depression. "You look glum again." He commented and gave her a can of soft drink.
Donna gave a nod. "Just thinking about family again." She replied. She sat on a crate and cracked open the can.
Instructor W was also on board te same carrier becuase of how he's in charge of the Gundam units' maintenance. He noticed the two together again. "So what made you two close together?" He asked.
"Many things." The Gundam pilot replied with a slight blush.
Milou was compelled to laugh at Donna's reaction. He used the laugh so he won't have to give his answer.
The Instructor decided to take a seat with them. "Donna, I know that you're thinking about your family." He whispered. "You've been thinking about it for days." He produced a photo of himself with a girl that had a surprising resemblane.
Donna raised her eyebrows. "Your sister?" She asked, rather surprised at the strong resemblance.
The Instructor gave a nod. "We were escaping from L4 together." He explained. "She didn't make it as me. A shot from a Coalition guard got her into a coma. Currently she's in good care, watched over by someone I can trust. Your father was also generous to provide some of the money to keep her in good health."
Donna was able to smile with the fact that her father did have a heart. "I didn't know about her." She replied. "What's her name?"
"Her name's Katherine." He told her. "I'll make sure to take you to her after the war."
