It was late at night, his father had been missing for a while now, and the government clearly wasn't going to be doing anything about it. Leonel decided to take matters into his own hands, he slipped out of the facility without an issue. He wore a black cloak to help fight the cold wind, that signaled winter's beginning, and be able to blend in with the darkness of the night. He knew better than to let someone see him, there were people that might recognize him from school or there might be government officials that will know that he's not supposed to be running around town alone. He was only outside because he wanted his father back. He didn't care that a beast had him, or that this beast could easily kill him, he wanted his dad to be safe. He didn't have anyone else in the world, and he wasn't about to lose his father because the government couldn't keep a handle on their own projects.

The young man walked through the alleyways. He had these maze like alleyways memorized after a few years of sneaking out by himself. He now crept slowly through the maze, checking every direction as he went to make sure he wasn't being followed or get spotted by another person. Everything felt so silent and eerie that night, it made him want to just run back to the only place he knew as his home, but he continued to push himself forward. The moon was high, and he didn't have that much time to be running around looking for this beast. He could only search where he thought the beast might hide. The same sort of places that he had passed by when he would sneak out of the facility and thought would be great for hiding away from this government. Places that he and his father could move away to and just live normal lives again. He knew that his father would have never allowed such a thing, but the boy used to wander around and think how easy it would be to get away from these terrible people.

He finally found himself in front of an old building that had been abandoned for quite some time. He stopped dead in his tracks and saw that the door he was sure had been boarded up before, was now completely bare. The windows still were covered with wooden planks nailed in and were left completely untouched. It didn't really make sense, but still it brought a small smile to Leonel's face. He tried to look through the cracks between the planks on the windows, but he couldn't even see a sliver of the inside through the glass. He sighed, the only way in was through the front door. He would have to take it. His dad might be in there. Leonel pulled the cloak around him and made sure the hood was pulled up and covered his face in shadow. Not that it really mattered, he was sure the beast had no idea who he was, and he was just there for his father. Finally, the boy went up to the front door and slowly opened it. His hands shook with fright, he knew that this was a stupid idea, yet he still continued into the abandoned house.

He slowly moved forward, his breath shaky and his eyes searching for something, anything. Leonel froze in place the moment he heard the loud creaking floor board after he took another step forward. There was no way he wasn't heard. He was going to get killed for sure now, if the beast was here.

Obtaining the lists of scientists involved with the Beast program was rather simple. He proved himself to be trustworthy enough over the years, killing those he was assigned to kill and playing "good dog". As a result, he gained access to places not many Beasts were allowed. Of those places the file room had been the most useful. The files of any person ever involved with the Beast program, including the beasts themselves, had a file. He wrote the scientists' names down, creating a hit-list of his own.

Every night for a straight week, he studied the names and the faces belonging to the names, planning and sizing them up. The big dogs were a little too big to deal with right away. So instead, he decided to go small chose a simple target:
Name: Doctor Bouviet
Marrige Status: Widowed
Age: 43
Offspring: Leonel Bouviet
Residence:Offered Living Facilities
Perfect. Something simple and close to home. It was a good place to start, one quick hit and he'd move on to bigger and tougher names.

And with that, one night he set off, sneaking past the security cameras, guards and other beasts like the trained assassin he was. None of it was easy. From removing the tracking device in his false eye to burning off his serial code. He hated it. He hated that they had him so tightly in their clutches that it took so much effort to leave, and become untraceable. He hated being poked and prodded and made into something other than human. He hated that the scientists often forgot that he was human to begin with. He hated that he often forgot he was human to begin with. He hated that he killed so many people in the past few years that did not deserve to die. But that was going to change with Doctor Bouviet.

Kidnapping the unsuspecting Doctor walking to his living quarters, tired and weary after a long day at work, had been easy. A rag covered with chloroform to the face and the next thing he new, Jay was running with an unconcious Doctor in a fireman's hold. His mostly artificial limbs and enchanced cardiovascular strength helped him immensely, making it easy to jump over the fence surrounding the facility with little sound.

Everything was going according to plan. Jay meandered through the alleyways expertly, following the mental map of the city ingrained in his mind, until he stopped in front of an old abandoned building. After adjusting Doctor Bouviet on his back, Jay used one arm to rip the board off of the door and push through it with his shoulder. Jay stumbled into the place, and walked to the back of the room, dropping Doctor Bouviet in an ungraceful heap and ignoring the groan of discomfort that sounded from him.

Jay cracked his neck and stretched out his shoulders as he pulled up an old chair next to Doctor Bouviet. A simple shot to the head back at the facility would have been too loud even with a silencer, and anti-climatic. No, this was much better. He sat down and pulled out his loaded pistol, equipped with a silencer, and waited for the Doctor to awaken.

Jay smiled when he heard the Doctor moan and stir. That is, until he heard the creak of a floor board. One person, Jay decided, judging by the foot steps. Rather than approach the intruder head on, Jay quietly stood from his chair and backed into a shadow provided by a beam in the moonlight. The Doctor himself remained entirely visible. Jay kept his finger on the trigger, hoping to get the upper hand if the person walked by.

Leonel started to count in his head, of the seconds that passed by after the creak in the floor boards had passed. With every second he started to relax, nothing was happening. The place was safe. He let out a sigh of relief as he figured out that the beast was not there, but he suddenly remembered that was a bad thing. If the beast wasn't around that meant that his father wasn't around either. He looked at the ground for a few moments wondering if he could get to any other abandoned buildings in the area fast enough to save his father. If he could save his father. He just remembered how bad of an idea this was, and he couldn't exactly remember why he had decided to do something so dumb in the first place. Sure, he wanted to save his dad and that was the only family he had left, but there was no guarantee he could just walk out alive with his father. That was the least likely outcome ever.

He looked up again, and looked around one last time. He gasped when he saw exactly who he was trying to find, there was his father unconscious, and laying on the floor. Without even thinking, he ran up to him and knelt down next to him. "Dad...dad...wake up!" Leonel shook his father gently and tried to wake him up. Everything that had made him frightened to come into the abandoned building in the first place had completely vanished from his mind. He found who he had been looking for and that was what brought a sudden smile to his face. He thought he was victorious. He thought that this could change everything, maybe they could just leave the government and live like normal people.

His father's eyes opened slowly, and there had been a small smile that had came with it. It lasted for maybe a few moments before the doctor realized that he wasn't at home and that his head ached. He quickly realized what was going on and looked around for the beast that had taken him. He sat up and grabbed his son by the shoulders, "Leonel, what are you doing here? Run, get far away from this place," He whispered rather harsh and urgently.

"Wh-what?" Leonel questioned, confused about what his father was so panicked about. "Dad, I came here to save you. They weren't going to do anything about you missing and they knew that a beast had taken you. They were just going to let you get killed, I had to come and save you."

Jay waited along with Leonel, each waiting for the other to make a move. He stood with his back pressed along the beam, gun pointed up at the ceiling. When Leonel began to move, he stayed. As Leonel rushed past him and too his father, Jay had enough time to register the man's face as Harry's son. Jay continued to watch the reunion, observing the many emotions playing on Leonel's face. So many expressions in such a short time.. Jay shook his head. He had been taught to stay away from those..emotions. They said emotions had been the fall of many great people in the academy. For a second, Jay wondered if that was just another blatant lie they had told him. Not the time, not now, he thought, as he watched the reunion.

It was when the Doctor started talking that Jay made his move. Jay moved quickly, aware of the creaky boards of the abandoned building. With a few hurried strides he stood behind Leonel, and placed the end of the silencer on the back of his head. He shook his head, "How touching," He said in a low growl, cocking the hammer of his pistol. He looked at the horrified face of the Doctor, and a snide smirk crawled on his face. "Isn't this just a lovely reunion," He continued, keeping his voice low and smooth, trying not to let his eagerness shine through.

Leonel stiffened when he felt the cold metal press against he back of head. He stared at his father horrified at what was about to happen. He knew about the beast project and how most of them worked. These people were frightening, and terrified him the most in the world. They were only trained to kill, they were never given a chance at a life other than that of killing and being test subjects. It was wrong, yet it happened in the place that Leonel was forced to call home. He always wondered what would happen if he was actually able to talk to these people, and if there was even a sense of humanity left within them. He figured that there was nothing left, if they grew up on being trained to kill and that was all they knew. That's what terrified him the most, knowing that these people were completely human, but they might not even have a sense of what it really meant to be human.

"P-Please, not my son...just let him go. He has nothing to do with the government. He's completely innocent," Leonel's father begged, "Do whatever you want to me, just...leave my son alone."

Leonel stayed as still as he could, tears started to form in his eyes as he realized that at any moment his life could be over. Though, he didn't like what his father was saying either. He didn't want to be thrown out and lose everything he had, he just didn't want to know what that was like. He swallowed down the lump in his throat and found his voice again, "N-no...I'd rather die than be left alone." His voice was shaky and it came out just above a whisper. He had looked his father straight in the eyes as he had said what he just did. His father's face was full of shock and fright about what might happen to him after saying such a thing. "I don't want to be left caged up in that government facility for the rest of my life. If you're going to kill my father, then kill me too," Leonel continued when he saw that slight questioning look in his father's eyes.

Jay's lips curled upwards into a snarl. All this sentimental stuff really wasn't in his expertise. Emotions besides anger and hatred were all quite foreign to him. At that moment, he was experiencing both of them. All he really wanted to do was to make the doctor pay for the life he was brought into.

Simply killing the doctor with a few shots to some major organs was what he had intended..but with the involvement of his son, things just got a whole lot more complicated...and dramatic. He could just pull the trigger, blow his son's brains out, and let the doctor live on. He would grieve and mourn, sure, but something told Jay the doctor was capable of moving past his son's death. In the end, it would just make him even angrier that Jay was, and possibly make him thirsty for revenge. He couldn't give me some anticlimactic ending in with they both died in each other's arms either. Especially when it's what they wanted..neither would be alone and both would be free from the government.

Jay went through the scenarios in his head, and almost smiled when he picked what he thought was the best one. The one where the doctor suffered through something greater than simply his son's death.

Jay pressed the gun harder into Leonel's skull and leaned his face closer to the Doctor. "Leave," he snarled, "Go back to your living quarters at the facility or hide, I don't care which. Your son stays with me." Jay paused when he saw the Doctor open and close his mouth like a fish, no words coming out to express his horror. "And don't even think about sending some big bad agent to get me. I've been around for plenty of years nod trust me. I. Know. All. Of. Them." He said, the last few words dripping with venom as he put on his most menacing smirk. "Now leave."

Leonel's father didn't even take his chances, the man got off the ground and ran out as fast as he could. His son stayed on the ground, not moving a muscle. He had no idea what his father planned to do about the situation, or if he planned to do anything at all for that matter. For all he knew his father ran out just to save his own skin and that was the end of it. Oddly enough, Leonel was okay with that, he was quite fine with his father rushing out of this place as fast as he could. That meant he succeeded in what he came to accomplish, even if that meant he was going to die for making such a childish move. He doubted that was the plan of this beast, now. He let his father live and go free which seemed weird, but it was probably more important that Leonel started worrying about himself. He had no idea what the beast was going to do to him now since his father was gone.

He was still kneeling on the ground, frozen in fear. Tears still streamed down his face as he realized that he was going to have to face the beast alone, and that felt more terrifying than simply getting killed by the guy. He had only ever seen the person that had tried to escape, and ended up ripping off Leonel's arm. If that guy was part of the beast project, he didn't look so normal. That guy terrified Leonel, and now he was stuck with someone he knew was a beast. He didn't want to see this beast if it was anything like the other project. Besides, he was pretty much stuck where he was, he couldn't move even wanted to.

"Wh-What are you going to do to me?" Leonel finally asked, his voice shaky and quiet. It was hard to even get out that full sentence. He knew that there was no possible way he could take on a beast, he couldn't even take on a normal human being. He wasn't a fighter. He was sure that this guy was going to end up torturing him for the rest of his life or just kill him straight out. It wasn't like there was anything that he could be used for. Leonel wasn't a scientist and the government would be even less concerned about him missing than his father. The only way he saw this going was either death or torture.

Jay smiled at the fleeing doctor. He had won this round, even through he knew the doctor had fled to save his son, it didn't make victory any less sweet. He contemplated his options for a few seconds. He could simply shoot the doctors son and be done with it. In this shady neighborhood no one would really blink at the sound of a gunshot filling the silence of the night. Beasts were notorious liars, it was all part of the assassin job description, and he was sure the young man kneeling at his feet knew this as well... But this was different. It wasn't a job, it was his own free will, his own sweet revenge. Besides, running away from the clutches of the government was not easy, assistance would be needed at some point.

Leonel spoke, and Jay was pulled from his thoughts, back to the situation at hand. He wasn't surprised when he heard the fear in the young mans voice, as most people facing possible death by a cyborg should be.

Jay sighed, trusting his more logical side than his blood thirsty one. "Nothing." Jay finally spoke, removing the silencer from Leonel's head and tucking it into a holster, hidden beneath his thin jacket. "Nothing.." He repeated himself, making his way around Leonel so he was face to face with him.

"As long as you do as I say, you'll be fine." He explained, scowling down at the doctors son, his lips twitching when he saw the tear streaks. Most of his targets were dead before they knew what hit them, they didn't have time to cry. He reached into his pocket to pull out a rolled up napkin, and tossed it to Leonel. "Get up and clean yourself off." He demanded gruffly.
