@Mardox We've had gods of chaos aplenty, but a trickster we haven't had! I'd very much like to see that.
If you want, you can check out the previous iteration to get to grips with how it would work. I've tweaked the mechanics a bit, but it's all very similar:

I always go warlike. I'll be a trickster this time, but I'll need to decide how good/evil I play as.... Maybe both?

I don't see why not, a perfectly respectable and necessary god. We had a god of death in the original OldGuild version and a demigoddess of death in the previous iteration.
Mind you, the way it functions is not as straightforward as a 'god of Death'. You have to choose something broad, a Domain (i.e Death) and something specific, a (Portfolio) (which would be something like Death (Murder) or Death (Plague) etc.)

I always go warlike. I'll be a trickster this time, but I'll need to decide how good/evil I play as.... Maybe both?


You will quickly find that the line between good and evil very quickly becomes blurred when you're a god xD

My goddess is a bit on the trickster lane too.

In myth they tend to be evil or neutral (because after all, even demons deserve to be tricked) though heroes like Odysseus were trickster too, but I don't know if he is good... Kokopeli is also a trickster and I think he is in the "good" lane, being a god of fertility and agriculture and all that.

I'm thinking a guy who goes around helping the underdog or clever one or whoever he has decided to root for, casually and cheerfully makes deals for souls when it is never actually explained what he plans to do with them. His motives should be rather obscure and he'll mess with people who get on his nerves for whatever reason. That's just some basic ideas as to how he'll behave.

It's all up to you, you choose the Domain, and then you select anything within that Domain that you want your god to have more power in. As the RP develops, you'll be able to add Domains and (Portfolios)
To give you and example, you can have Chaos (Upheaval), War (Battle), Death (Plague), Emotion (Fear) and a near limitless variants. More than one god can have the same Domain, but no two gods can have the same Domain (Portfolio).

I might be interested. I've done godgames before.


Hmm, tell me a bit about your past experience, I'm interested in knowing how other deity RPs are done.
Do you know what kind of character you're looking towards?

I've been in a few games, been co-GM and GM, on a different forum which isn't really active anymore. We used stats and dice to determine the outcomes of actions/fights. The rules were simple though. It was still mostly focused on writing, and telling a story.

I don't really know what kind of character yet.

I'd say Light is more of a Domain and Purity is more a (Portfolio) of Light.
If you're going for Order as a Domain, Portfolios would be things like (Balance), (Law), (Morals), (Permanence), (Stability), (Punishment), (Retribution) etc.

Hmm, well, I hope you do join us. We're less stat-based here, but the Game Mechanics are quite extensive (reading them is something of a test of commitment xPP) but nothing overly complex I would hope
Definitely open to feedback or suggestions if you spot something that can be done more efficiently :)

Hmmm... actually, I was considering take up Balance as a whole secondary Domain, later on in the RP. I want my character to be a sort of mediator between the Order and Chaos, Good and Evil- a True Neutral. But perhaps it might be Neutrality (Balance)?

@Hael Hmm, true neutrals aren't really about balance, that's more Lawful Neutrals (i.e. your Vowzras)
