Well, I am definitely new to this website, but I am not new to roleplaying. :) I have been at it since I was thirteen, and I am now 21. Yup. It was a big shock to hit alcohol age here. Anyway...
I found this website while perusing google. xD I needed a new place to roleplay where I wasn't terrified of making someone angry.
I originally used roleplaying as a way to cope with stress. I started out on The Keep on Nexxus Host. Then I shifted over to the more age appropriate Elite Skills. I have also tried an app called Virtual Space.
Over the years, I have developed a few OCs here and there. Through roleplaying, I met my curren and most beautiful and amazing girlfriend as well as some of the best friends I have ever had. We still chat and roleplay together frequently on KiK, Skype, and through text even.
From here, one might guess that roleplaying is my favorite hobby. Yes, I still use it to help relieve stress from my job...s. Jobs. I'll explain that a little further down the line. That being said, I also find it exciting and fun. It's a great way to socialize and make friends, and I enjoy the challenge of continually adding onto a story and developing a character.
Since this is stress relief, I will likely be most active in the Free Form area, popping out whatever my frantic brain has to offer.
I enjoy mostly playing male OCs. I have far more of them, and now I'm just used to it. One might imagine that there is sometimes a shortage of male OCs considering the genres I normally stick to.
This brings me to that particular topic. Because this is stress relief (as I will likely repeat a lot, sorry), I roleplay a lot of romance and comedy and a touch of drama here and there. I mostly prefer one x ones because of the ability to place more control on them. It's easier to plot and plan with one person as opposed to more than one. I am asexual and agender myself, so my characters tend to vary all over that exciting LGBT+ spectrum, and that will mean romantic pairings in roleplays will be the same.
Because I do not want to stress myself out more with copious amounts of research, I tend to stick to RPs in a modern setting at the very least. Whether we mean modern/fantasy or modern/realistic or modern/au with six different universes in them all collapsing the space time continuum, I don't care, but my OCs and settings are always 1990s or later.
Enough about that.
My life, personally, is a bit of a mess sometimes. The reason my roleplays are for stress relief only is because I am a nanny. I currently move around between three families. I will have a week where I can be posting non-stop, going back and forth like a game of pong. Then I am silent for the next three days because I have been with kids since I woke up that morning until roughly 2 or 3 AM all three days in a row. Thankfully, any extended hiatus over a week will often come with a courtesy message state how long and why I might be gone.
I am extremely laid back when it comes to other people. I can socialize well. I can am easy to repair if I break down. Apparently I tend to describe myself as if I am a car for sale. xD Sorry. I just noticed that.
Also, I do tend to type how I speak in real life. If I use an emoji, it's because I made a face while typing something. If there's italics, depending on the context, I could be sarcastic or furious or laughing my ass off.
I will be lurking around the site the first few days to try and get used to how it operates, however, I am always available for OOC chatter. Just forgive the introvert nature. xD
Hope to be chatting you up soon,
~Winslow
PS... Did I accidentally hit on you??? D: WELL!
