Yeah East Coast <3
Bio: Avery’s family moved to Rick’s neighbourhood when she was very young, since they needed a bigger house and it was a more desirable location. Her father was a doctor, so he was often away from home and her mother was a dentist, who quit her job before moving and didn’t take up a new one until Avery entered school. Avery has known Rick for as long as she can remember, some of her earliest memories of her childhood were playing with the boy from down the road.
Admittedly, as a child she hadn't been really into the games as Rick had, she had been more of an outdoor child and was heavily into sports. As primary school progressed she got more and more into sports, gymnastics and dancing taking up a lot of her time after school, though she always found time to spend with Rick, whether it be on her days off or after practice.
However shortly after entering middle school she broke her leg at a gymnastics meet and was out of action for five months. This was when Rick had introduced her to video games, and whilst it took her a while to get used to having to sit around for hours, the girl found herself really getting into them towards the end. Once the cast was off she got into swimming to try and recover the lost strength in her leg, though never took it on competitively as she did with gymnastics or dance. After the break she never did got back to gym, but did keep up the dance, it was too much fun to give up, though did tone it back a bit.
In secondary Avery found herself with a lot more free time than she was used to. Now her sports were mostly for fun and non-competitive she was able to focus more on the relationships in her life. A couple of boyfriends came and went, but they had never… felt right, as if she were dancing with an incompatible partner. She took up singing late sophomore year and decided she was done with the boy thing for a while and was happy just spending time with Rick after her year of experimenting with new friends and relationships.
Deciding she wanted to try and go into a musical theatre career she began focusing on her dance and singing, but made sure to not let it get in the way of her friendship like it had sometimes in her youth. She attended every one of Rick’s tack meets, always cheered him on and she was always exceptionally proud of him, even if he didn’t win.
She was a more than a little devastated when she didn’t get into NYADA, so decided to do some courses at the local university instead, which was okay since she got to stay close to Rick. The invitation to move into his grandparent’s house with him had caught her a little off guard, but how could she say no? They had spent so much time growing up talking about living together. And it had a pool!
Appearance:
Avery is a rather small girl, she likes to refer to herself as ‘funsized’ but really she’s just small. Only standing at 5’ and weighing in at 110 pounds, thanks to the copious amounts of exercise she did her body is exceptionally lean and toned, at least for a girl. Though she sometimes feels self conscious about her underwhelming bust, if you could call B’s a bust. Her hair is a mass of waist length, dark, rich brown locks framing her heart shaped face and hazel eyes.
