In the beginning Fall Hollow was funded by the supernatural aristocratic elite many centuries ago. A city for supernaturals to live among one another and away from the prying eyes of humans and hunters of that time. A barrier was placed over the city to shield them and often was moved from place to place when needed. Overall it was a normal and peaceful city for many years. The leaders of each species coming forth to create a council. Getting along but never marrying or producing offspring outside of their own species.
However soon things flipped Fall Hollow upside down and a chaos began to rise within the once serene city. More and more children were being born out of wedlock. In some instances even in marriages. These children however were not of pure blood. They were the first ever Hybrids. Thought to be at first a more powerful being of destruction that soon proved to be the opposite. Mixed bloods as they were called proved themselves to be a weaker species. Disgusted the council began to point fingers, and thus the rivalry began.
Now present day, Fall Hollow is still teeming with supernatural life. It is a dark place on no ones must see vacation spot. The city is often avoided by non supernaturals due to the high violence rate and the immense gang activity. Without working together Fall Hollow now stays in one place with no barrier to keep humans away. Just recently the human population has begun to wander into Fall Hollow - soon finding out its dark secrets. While the city is ever changing there are a few things that have remained the same over the years. The pure bloods and hybrids are both still around. A social hierarchy stands - the hybrids being the inferior species - lower on the totem poll than even the humans. They blend in with the neutral society and are often hired to do the higher up gang members errands.
The species who rule the city are truly fierce, some of the strongest and most formidable of foes. All of which are from pure blooded lineage. These gangs in include: The Vampires, The Werewolves, The Shifters, The Witches, The Mermen, The Faeries and The Demons. With a deep set rivalry that goes back hundreds of years each species sticks to their own. Often more than not hostile to one another. Romance between the species is still seen as a taboo, something that must be hidden away. Interspecies love could prove to be deadly - especially if found out.
* Immortal * Susceptible to Sunlight & Fire
Vampires are creatures who were once mortal beings. They are created by being drained to the point of death and receiving a profuse amount of vampire blood. Their bodies react as though they are dying however when waking the next night they are blessed - or cursed with immortal life. The vampire who has turned them becomes their maker - instantly there is an intense bond between the two.
A vampires skin is pale and cold to the touch, however after a blood meal their skin can regain a rosy complexion and slight warmth for a short period of time. As the undead their hearts do not beat and they lack the need to breath. Naturally their eyes are red if they feed from humans or humanoid creatures. However they take on an amber hue when only feeding from animals. An animal diet weakens the vampires strength and senses immensely.
The abilities vampires possess are the following: Super strength, speed, healing, enhanced hearing, enhanced vision, enhanced smell and the ability to glamour. Glamouring is when a vampire catches extended eye contact with someone putting them into a trance like state. From that point the vampire may erase a memory or command the person under the trance to do something. Vampires can glamour one another - however only an older vampire will be successful in doing so.
Vampire blood has healing properties, however their blood can also be used as a drug. When consumed the user is put into a euphoric state of mind. However it is highly addictive and if taken from a vampire who has fed on the user a blood bond is formed. Blood bonds are intense emotional and physical connections. The more blood consumed the stronger the bond becomes. This bond can escalate from being able to sense the persons emotions and where they are to being able to read their thoughts. A vampire with too many blood bonds runs the risk of going insane. Blood bonds can only be severed through the death of one of the bonded.

Werewolves can either be bitten or born, werewolves who are born hold a higher standing within the pack’s social ladder. In order for a werewolf to be turned he must be bitten on the night of the full moon. When the next full moon arises he will shift and gain all werewolf abilities. Werewolves may shift whenever they like - however the full moon is when they are at their peak of strength. Their wolf forms are often large and more muscular than a normal wolfs.
In their human form each werewolf possesses the ability of enhanced strength, agility, healing and senses. Their body temperature is extremely high and they are often immune to most illness.
Wolves have a strong sense of pack mentality, they put themselves into rank often given at a young age but can shift in adulthood. These ranks are: Alpha Male, Alpha Female, Beta, and Omega. The alpha male and female lead the pack and keep everyone in line. They are naturally the strongest of the pack. Next comes the beta wolves, these wolves act as second in command, they are a step below the alphas in strength. Lastly there are the omegas, these are the weakest of the pack.

Shifters are humanoid creatures that possess the power to shift their bodies into any animal they have seen. They have a normal human lifespan and cannot be made, only birthed. When in their animal form they take on any abilities that animal has. For example a dog would have a heightened sense of smell or a fish would be able to breath underwater. Animalistic traits from the shifters spirit animal can also be found in their human form. A shifters spirit animal is the easiest form for them to take. It is also the first animal form they take when a child.
Most shifters will be able to hold a partial shift for a short period of time. This means that they may take on an animal trait such as claws, eyes, ears, gills etc. to their human form.
Shifters look like average humans and can only be detected through their scent which species with enhanced smell like vampires and werewolves will be able to pick up on.
Mermaids/Mermen are humanoid creatures that inhabit the sea, they are a wise and proud society. Often charming beyond compare as well as very beautiful - which helps them to lure in their victims. Often more than not mer-people lure their prey into the water, quickly taking control of the situation after that point. Torturing and killing their victim by drowning or other methods.
These sea bearing creatures possess water and weather manipulation magic, they also have the ability to turn their fin’s into legs. Of course they must return to the sea every few weeks or their powers will grow weaker and eventually if away from the ocean too long they could die.
Mermaids/Mermen have beautifully colored tails, often color and different shades - however multi colored fins have been seen.

Witches are humanoid creatures, the closest relation to humans than all other species. You are born a witch, no magic or ritual will enable another species to become one. Witches age at the same rate as a human - however when they cast an immortality spell their life can be extended an upwards of 500 years.
Witches possess the power of magic. Either though potions, incantations, or mediums. Their strength is gained gradually over the years - the more they know the more powerful they become. However there are a select few witches who are gifted from the start.Higher level witches may also possess elemental magic, often being skilled at a handful before their lifetime is over.
* 3000 Year Lifespan * Physical Vulnerability * Susceptible to Iron
Faeries are humanoid creatures that age very slowly, however they are not immortal. Faeries tend to age thirty years for every one human year. They can live to be around 3000 years old. A faeries wings are like their fingerprint - no two are exactly the same. Once a faeries wings are removed however they can not be brought back by any means of magic. Often they leave a two large and deep scars where their wings once were. When not in use faeries wings morph into their back - taking a form of a tattoo. When in this state their wings cannot be damaged.
Faeries have a multitude of powers, one being telepathy - however their telepathy can be blocked by the right magical charm. Other powers include elemental magic and vitakinesis.
Faeries come from an alternate dimension which can be opened every full moon. Their dimension is much like the one we live in however much more lush and less colonized. They do have higher status faeries that govern the lands. Faeries are normally a peaceful race. However they are known to hold a grudge and can be quite stubborn.
* Immortal * Susceptible to Sin
Angels are considered to be only a myth by those who live on earth. Angels are created by God to serve his purpose. Therefore, they cannot procreate. Angels are typically not allowed to reveal their nature and are encouraged to keep it a secret. Often those who do disobey are brought back and locked in heaven. None of mortals or supernaturals know angels exist, and that knowledge must be gained through the process of roleplaying.
Light Form
Young angels (thousand years or less), before they are sent out to earth, reach out to it to find a proper vessel for them. They have to get permission, consent from a human being they want by telling them all the truth. If chosen human says “yes” out loud, then the angel may occupy their body, putting the soul to sleep for the time being. They can be both, killed and sent back to heaven (usually by demons), using angel blade. Their vessels age, but are healed from all the sicknesses and their health is extremely well while possessed, and even after the angel leaves. If the vessel does not want the angel inside of them anymore, they can throw them out and it harms, weakens the angel.
In Light Form, they are stronger than humans, but weaker than any other species. They have the abilities to heal themselves and others, however it requires extra effort and the process is slow.
Flesh Form
Old, ancient angels that did enough to deserve to be “promoted” and get their human forms back. They don’t need food, sleep, but, just like demons, can consume and be affected. They can be sent back to heaven, but not taken out of their bodies. Angels like that can be killed by ancient demons, but it’s a rare thing to happen, since deaths of ancients on both sides could start a war. Their main purpose — to protect humans and nothing is more important to them than that. Ancients are wise, not as obeying as young ones, but peaceful nonetheless. If provoked can react harshly.
In Flesh Form, the ancient angels have a power of strong light, which might leave another blind, destroy objects or vessels of any kind (sometimes even themselves, if used recklessly). They have the power to take younger angels out of their vessels, with or without the human's consent. Their wings (white or, if an angel has begun to fall/is on the edge of it, their wings might be black and losing feathers) and are able to fly. Wings are always hidden except times where they are needed, the angel can make them “grow” out of their back.
Blood of angels is poisonous (in large amounts, fatally) to every species but humans; if a human is near death and cannot be healed with power alone, feeding them angel’s blood will bring them back to a healthy form. Angels leave heaven only if there is an urgent, important matter or if demons start coming to earth.
Angels start to fall because of:
* Unnecessary murder of an innocent soul. That does not include murder because of justice, etc. * Going against god, siding with demons.

Demons are creatures of the underworld, mischievous and ruthless creatures always on the prowl for a new victim. They come to the human realm to cause chaos and to feed. They have little interest for the quarrels of most humanoid life. However they feed from the chaos it creates - often ebbing it on only to get a good meal from it. Demons do not need food - rather they feed off the negative energy emitted off other creatures.
They are known to make deals with humans, granting them something and then possessing their soul when the deal is complete. The more souls the demon has collected the stronger his power becomes.
Demons possess elemental magic, often connected to fire and earth due to the hellish domain they emerge from.

Hunters have been around since the first spotting of supernatural life. Having started out as warriors of war their attention was shifted from humans to the unknown. Most despise the supernatural, seeing them as unholy and unnatural. Many hunters come from large families where the methods of hunting the supernatural have been passed down for hundreds of years. With the advancements in technology their job has become even easier.
Often hunters bear a tattoo or a clothing item often unknown to most others - this is a form of letting other hunters know they are on their side.
The hunters are a underground organization - keeping their plans as hidden and as secretive as they can.

Humans are fragile creatures, quick to tire and often fascinated by the unknown. They hold no special magical powers and have no long lifespan. They can however be turned into vampires and werewolves. Humans just began to migrate into FallHollow in the last century or so. They have built up shops and have made homes all over the city - although they do tend to avoid the more heavily populated gang area’s.

Vorel is very controlling. He believes in maintaining control of every aspect of his life. This is different from the typical hot blooded werewolves he grew up around, but it's what he attributes to the success he holds today. He works very hard and is very smart as well. He is rather apathetic as well though. He shows little negative emotions and expects others to get over them as quickly as he does. He isn't the strongest werewolf, but underestimating him is a dire mistake. Being bullied as he grew has created a very tough being, both physically and mentally. He is rather patient, but doesn't take well to werewolves being threatened.
History:
Vorel was born to a set of strong parents. His mother was a Gamma and his father a Delta. He had several brothers and sisters, and his eldest brother is probably the strongest werewolf today. He has a respect for Vorel though, after he beat him up one day. Vorel didn't fight back, but later on his brother returned to his room and found everything was gone. As he turned around in shock, Vorel jumped him and beat him up in return. His brother had gotten in several fights where both sides fought until it was over, but Vorel held his anger until the moment was right. His brother realized the power behind this mentality and gave him due respect after that.
He grew up strong, but many didn't like the attitude he kept about him. Though his brother wanted to help him when gangs came at him, he refused and took them on himself. He took many beatings growing up and returned retribution on many of his former enemies. A fear and respect grew about him as more experienced or heard of his work.
If he wasn't enacting revenge or instilling fear, he was studying. His favorite subject was economics and he was quickly playing with stocks in his own time. As he began to make money, he began a business. As he rapidly made money, he expanded his business and soon found himself in control of very large amounts of money. A substantial amount was his own as well.
With the fall of one of the councillors, he was the obvious choice for a replacement. His physical strength was among the highest in the pack, and his respect and financial control made him a prime candidate for Councillor. He accepted and has served for a few years now. He continues his business, but has faced a significant decrease in bullying. Even other council members have a respect for what this calm cannon may do next. With the werewolf kind backing him, he has plenty of options.

He really likes the way the moon lights up snow on a clear night after a fresh snowfall. He loves his suits as well.

Cass has...mellowed out considerably after centuries of low activity, not to mention the influence of an Archangel in his head. He’s still somewhat hot headed and quick to lose his temper, and he has a tendency to be a little grouchy. However, shielded of the dark influences of inferno, Cass has become almost likeable, for a grouch. Oddly enough, he works as a paramedic in the city. Cass enjoys the hectic pace of the work, and it often brings him into close proximity with death and destruction. The irony of actually saving lives is also highly amusing to him. He generally arrives on scene with an amused smile and a gung ho attitude.
Cass doesn’t really have any close friends; even the EMTs he rides with are no more than pleasant coworkers. But he does have dogs. Cass developed a habit of taking in stray dogs over the years, usually off the streets, sometimes from shelters. He especially likes the vicious ones; something about taking them in and shaping their personalities is deeply satisfying to him. He instills them with iron discipline and trains them to attack on command. He’s had as many as nine, but currently has six: A pitbull, two german shepherd-esque mutts, some kind of doberman/labrador mix, a mutt without any clear traits at all, and a beautiful purebred rottweiler. Though Cass wouldn’t admit it, he absolutely loves his dogs; they’re the only family he’s ever had.
History:
Cass is an older demon, and a very famous one among his kind. Previously one of Inferno’s greatest warriors, he spent centuries happily fighting in the Empyrean War across multiple planes of existence.
Humans may not recognize his name, but they know of his handiwork. Babylon, Troy, Carthage, the Sacking of Rome; all his doing. Cass is quite proud of the work; he delights in the excesses of hatred and slaughter, and he loves spurring humans to do the same. Carthage remains to this day his favorite memory: running with red-eyed legionaires through the streets, raping, murdering, burning, butchering, and then, to top it all off, salting the earth so nothing would ever grow there again. Destruction is his goal, chaos his modus operandi.
It all changed at Constantinople. Cass was among the Ottoman armies as they took the city, but it was a trap. The walls of the city had crumbled, and Cass was just hitting his stride, burning his way to the Palace, hoping to encounter Empress Theodozia, who was reputed to be the most beautiful woman of her era. When he finally butchered his way into the palace, he discovered that Theodozia was indeed beautiful...too beautiful to be human. She was the Archangel Mariel. The two of them fought bitterly, but ultimately Castornus gained the upper hand. As he struck the killing blow, Mariel did...something. She died by his hands, her head caved in by his bare fists, but something had changed. Cass left the palace, intent on getting to the business of properly destroying the city, but as he began to exert his powers, burning light exploded in his mind and Mariel’s wondrous face appeared before his eyes. Cass was driven from the city, screaming in agony, and haunted by the dead Archangel. Constantinople gained new rulers and a new name, but remained quite intact, and relatively few civilians died.
What exactly Mariel did remains a mystery, but it quickly became clear she’d crippled Cass. Every time he tried to use his powers properly, he was filled with agonizing pain, and Mariel’s haunting image would sternly glare at him, lovely and terrifying at the same time. Cass became a laughing stock amongst the denizens of Inferno; a lame old warhorse, good for nothing, a relic of another time. Occasionally, he’d try to get back out there, limiting the use of his powers, but Mariel had indeed crippled him.
Desperate to escape her curse and return to his old ways, Cass fled to Fall Hollow, hoping the mortal plain would shield him from her influence, but to no avail. He’s since settled down in the city, hoping that someday he can find a way to lift the curse.
He’s had no luck in the last 60 years or so, and Cass has more or less resigned himself to his fate. He has a modest apartment downtown; itt’s not a perfect existence, but it’s good enough.
Ali is best described as a person "blooming in the garden of youth", or at least, that's how the elderly folk of Fall Hollow call her when they're in a particularly good mood. It was "damned teenage rascal" when they weren't. Either way, Ali is what you can call a typical teenager with her exhuberant energy and outgoing personality, with just a touch of rebelliousness to spice up the dish. She's the kind of person you'll see in different scenes, chatting with all the right people and effortlessly making friends with anyone she approaches.
Ali's loyalty is fierce and unmatched by anything. For the people who have grown dear to her heart, you can be rest assured that Ali would do anything to help and protect you. Of course, it's also this fierce loyalty that can sometimes give Ali tunnel-vision and make her refrain from hearing the other side of a conflict. Her friends' enemies were her enemies, and nothing could change that in her mind even if her friends had been the ones in the wrong. It must be said that this has gotten Ali into trouble more than once, especially when it turned out that her so-called friends had only been manipulating her to do their every whim. Despite this, Ali has never learned.
Ali is someone you can be assured would always be there for you, even if she can be a tad reckless at times. She always means well and is willing to lend a helping hand with a bright smile.
History:
It was the first of December, in the middle of one of the harshest winters experienced by Fall Hollow, when the youngest of the Danea clan entered the world. Julio Danea, the current patriarch of the household, had held his baby girl and announced that her name would be Crow for he was sure that like the rest of their family, the child's spirit animal would be one that made the sky its home and that she would be the best that their family had ever seen. When Ali's third birthday came and she met her spirit animal during one of the family's usual camping trips, her father couldn't be any more disappointed. Her spirit animal had been a black panther, and not the graceful flyer he had expected. Of course, Ali had been too young then to know what that revelation had done to her relationship with her father.
Continuing her trend of going against the grain in her family's norms, she found that she had no affinity for strategizing. Unlike her father, grandfather, and great grandfather, she knew she would never take the role of advisor in The Masquerade. She had let her brothers be the ones to compete for that position. Her goal had been something more. As the years passed, Ali strengthened her bond with both her spirit animal and the multitude of land-bound creatures she had intently studied. Sure, she had also shifted into some sea creatures, but they didn't feel as comfortable as being on all fours on good, solid land. And so she honed her skills of transformation to the point that she could partially shift a little bit longer than most of the older shifters. Her physical strength wasn't something to be laughed at either. Before she knew it, she became one of the youngest betas in The Masquerade while her brothers had failed in their tasks of joining the gang as its advisor. Pride swelled up in Ali and she had turned to her father hoping to see the same in his eyes, but she found it wanting.
Her relationship with her father remains rocky still and he continues to favour his two sons. He had even refused to let Ali work in the family business, the local animal shelter, which forced Ali to find a part-time job somewhere else. It seemed as though fate continually wanted to wedge an ever bigger gap between Ali and her father as it soon grew apparent that she held a passion for robotics, something that her father has always frowned upon thinking that further technological advancements would push the youth away from nature.

• She holds a deep hatred for witches as a dear friend of hers, a werewolf, had died in a skirmish between their two gangs.
• She is the lead vocalist of a band she created with her friends in college. They're well-known in Fall Hollow but they only play for fun. Jokingly, they call themselves "Hodgepodge" because each of them are a different species from the other.
• She still regularly goes on camping trips in the forest, sometimes even staying out in the wilderness for weeks.

Personality:
Valentina possesses a very poised, controlled demeanor, sometimes read by others as cold. For the most part she is a private person and doesn't like to let others know much about herself, especially her weaknesses. Perhaps due to her relative youth she is somewhat impressionable, and has little experience with interpersonal relationships. As a result of having to keep her identity as an angel secret, she is distant from fellow supernaturals. Though fascinated by humanity she is somewhat intimidated by their proclivity for sinful activities and as such is distant from them as well, save for a few regular visitors at the library that she is pleasantly acquainted with.
She is extremely curious about Earth, human beings, her fellow supernaturals and pretty much everything else under the sun. She is a thoughtful, perceptive being who rarely forgets an act of kindness but also holds grudges stubbornly. Her time among humans has softened her edges a bit, and she is learning social skills and other human skills as she goes along. She is particularly fond of animals and human children.
History:
Valentina is young by angelic standards, at a little over 900. Her time on Earth is much briefer. She has spent most of her life in Heaven, with the other angels for company. For the most part she was comfortable with her existence, but after centuries of mundanity became dissatisfied and bored with her surroundings. Though she was wise enough to keep quiet about her unrest, reprieve came anyways when she was granted permission to seek out a vessel on Earth. After much searching, she found what seemed like the perfect option: Avery Stark, a nineteen year old college student with little to no family or social life outside of her volunteer work, desperate for a purpose in life. Valentina reached out to her, subtly at first, before finally revealing her true identity as an angel. Initially hesitant, Avery eventually conceded to being Valentina's vessel.
Since that day, about a year ago, Valentina has assimilated into Avery's life with some difficulty. At first she had trouble interacting with humans, still perplexed by the nuances of conversation. More than that she was overwhelmed by (and a bit envious of) humans' possibility of choice. They could just do things, on a whim, for no reason but to make themselves happy - the idea baffled her. These days Valentina spends her weekdays at school and weekends volunteering at the local animal shelter, following in Avery's footsteps. She tends to avoid speaking to people who knew Avery personally out of a sense of respect and almost guilt.

She is definitely a night owl. This may be a trait adapted from her vessel, whose college classes were almost always held at night
She has a strange fashion sense, with a fondness for old-fashioned patterns and fabrics. She also likes to keep a sort of androgynous style, mixing more masculine attire like blazers and ties with typically feminine outfits.
