@Life in Stasis The only problem with living in a desert. I can handle the heat, but sand is the worst! I don't get why so many people love beaches, it's just wet sand everywhere. And the only thing worse than dry sand is wet sand that sticks to everything.

Having lived in a desert, and the cold north, I prefer sand to chipping ice off my windshield in a -25°F wind chill, or driving on icy murder roads.

The only real crime of arid climates is what they do to my hair.

Thank god I never had to drive in icy insanity when I lived where it was cold. The drivers here are crazy enough.

Eh, as for the gun, I was going to dodge the shot anyway. Gawain has had enough beatings that were undodgeable for some time. I think it's fair if he gains some upper hand now.

@Life in Stasis Sorry to bother but what would be the best course of action? Gawain is hardly fit to fight that.. mage thing, I imagine, or atleast OOCly it was not intended for Gawain to fight him. So where should I head?

Running would not be an unwise course of action. Aside from the elves/bugs trying to kill you, the land is falling apart. The odds are just not stacked in anyone's favor.

Wouldn't be too unreasonable if you found a spare horse and made a run for it. Or even if, as you made tracks between yourself and the caravan, you saw the distant image of a finely dressed young man on a white mare, the flash of an Aretan standard, or the metallic glimmer of your fellow knights.

That's what I was thinking. IDK, it seems kinda meta to just go 'well, I hate elves, I hate mages, but I'm gonna ignore my hate for them to escape and magically find the king and other knights'. I think I'd rather have him stay and fight, but perhaps it's better to wait for the mage to, you know, attack us first before I respond because then I can write something interesting.

Now it'd basically be dodge the bullet, look at the spider, wave my sword around at it while trying to stay upright in the sinking sand, and finish.

Vicenna is crumbling. The mountains in the distance appear to be gone, which should be REALLY weird and scary. The Knights and King are closer to the river, and closer to Areta. Which as far as you know may not be as unstable as Vicenna.

It's hopeless to stay and fight and I was actually HOPING everyone would run. I can't stress enough that the earth is about to completely collapse. Staying to fight in spite of that is suicidal.

That, and regardless of what's happening, you'd think a knight who's fanatically obsessed with his King would, in this moment of utter chaos, cling to the one thing he knows: protect the King at all costs.

@Life in Stasis makes sense. OOCly I see why you'd want us to run, though I hadn't quite gotten that hint yet. I thought you wanted us to fight them given the fact that Juna and the mage both seemed to be focussed on fighting them.

I will run then, and probably grab the mage while I'm at it too.

Should I somehow deal with the Eretol woman and the elf too? Somehow 'convince' them to come with Gawain? It sounds illogical but it might be hellish to write them out of the situation they are in given 1 is unconscious and the other is jumping onto a spider.

Ah, I forgot Annara was godmodded. I was under the impression that they were still around, but then I remembered, cat and computer. What about Juna?
