...what happened to talking about peanut butter?

Anyways. As an American, I can state that I will consider it not only a nationwide failure if Trump is elected, but as firm an indication as we are ever going to get that the American political system is broken and in need of repair. On top of Trump being morally reprehensible, on top of his tumultuous history as…well, being a total jackass…on top of everything else he’s done...

This is the man who was fired from his own TV show for being an arrogant racist prick.

WHY are people taking him even remotely seriously?!

I’m not so much concerned with the damage Trump would do to the country if he got elected. At this point The Country has had plenty of experience in running itself whilst largely ignoring Washington in matters of most everything. If we somehow survived eight years of George Goddamn W., we can survive Trump.

What gets me is the enormous damage Trump will – not can, WILL – do to America’s already-shaky relations with the rest of the world. George threw away decades of generally good relations with the rest of the world in pursuit of his daddy’s wars, and Obama has been hamstrung by frothing-mouthed savages, on both sides, in Congress for pretty much his entire run. If we let Trump in, the country’s internal machinery will likely just keep on grinding the way it always does…but there’s only so many times complete toxic asshats like W or Trump can get elected before something critical breaks.

I’m not any kind of student of history, and have very little more than an average layman’s understanding of both the local and global political situations…but at this point I’d just about vote for a particularly succulent radish over any of the individuals ‘The American People’ have pushed onto the running track, and I would honestly rather let the office sit empty than permit Trump to park his worthless ass in it.

I would honest to god prefer literally any poor homeless person in the presidential seat over Hillary Clinton. I would prefer motherfucking John Madden to Hillary.

I, do by my name as a man and an honest hard working man at that, believe that Hillary Clinton WILL cause World War 3 in office.

And I'm not ready for the world to end in Nuclear Fire.

@LeeRoy 'World War 3' would, by definition, have to involve at least a significant chunk of the rest of the world.

The Rest Of The World doesn't really care about Hillary. She may be an aggravating battleax, but...well, she's fundamentally not much different than anything that's come before her.

Trump? Trump is actively campaigning on the "I'm a racist fuck" platform. He alternatively (or simultaneously!) terrifies and infuriates the rest of the world - the mere fact that he has anything resembling a chance has, itself, already damaged what's left of America's international standing. He's an aggressive, provably amoral businessman who is, so far as I can tell, doing this pretty much for the kicks rather than out of any real desire to try and improve the country.

if I were to pin the "Most Likely to start World War 3" yearbook award on any of the current candidates, it would not be Hillary.

And this is why Politics sucks. Because this conversation is way more aggressive than it needs to be.

I'm just saying that Trump is a dumb shit who's going to get into trouble. But he's also so much different from other candidates we've had for a long time that it might be good. Though it could also be bad. Stupidity is a dangerous quality.

That's literally every president.

But Hillary has proven time and again that she doesn't care about humanity. Pushing for more aggressive action in the Syrian and Libyan fronts, arming the Syrians and so on. I see that she wants aggression, she has proven that she supports the war economy.

Stupidity is a dangerous quality, but being a sociopath is far worse.

Like you said, we survived Bush. We'll survive Trump.

I'm afraid that we wouldn't survive Hillary.

The War Economy needs to die, Jack.

Hah. Yaknow, I honestly find myself wondering if Senator Armstrong wouldn't be a better choice than any of the current crop. Other than, y'know, the fictional-character thing. I mean sure, he was a murderous psychopath who worked to start wars under false pretenses in pursuit of his Nefarious Plots...but he had convictions strong enough to fight and die for. He had a goal, he had a plan, and he considered it bigger than himself or anyone else he could lay hands on.

'Sides. If W can start wars under false pretenses without any intent to benefit the country, why not let Armstrong try his route, eh?

Anyways. That sense of conviction is most egregiously missing from the current selection of idiots. Trump's running to pump up his own impossible ego, Hillary's doing it because she doesn't have any better job prospects, and both of them are more concerned with making sure history remembers them than making sure America progresses and prospers. Armstrong may be a video game villain...but you can't argue that he didn't want America to progress and prosper.

God damn I want Armstrong to be real. I would support every single action he took wholeheartedly.

Even though I killed his ass thoroughly, I didn't once think about hating him.

I'm a liberal anarchist at heart, but i well know how idealistic it is to believe that humanity would last long without a governmental structure, at least for now.

Surprisingly, my most favored form of authority would be something along the lines of a constitutional monarchy. I very much fancy the idea that the person in charge will be somebody who had been brought up to be prepared for the task since their very childhood.

But then again, i never looked in to the subject matter too much, so my opinion is quite the shallow one.

I applause you as you just showed you're among the few who realized that the President doesn't merely make things happen without the backing of Congress from either side. Most people blame the President because they assume he apparently has complete authority. Rather silly when our own government system makes that pretty much impossible for a single man (not group mind you) to hold too much power over the nation. Sadly, though, I don't like politics because no matter who is picked they won't do half of what they promise because they run the risk of Republican or Democrat blocking their ass. Or kissing ass to their own party just to get things passed.

An idiot could tell that Obama was being blocked at virtually every turn by Republicans who'd basically decided that so long as he was in office, they were going to obstruct and hinder absolutely everything he tried to do out of sheer, nasty-minded spite simply because they were being sore losers after the country decided that eight years of George Junior's live-action Call of Duty was enough of that.

Then, of course, the two parties ended up so viciously polarized that it paralyzed Washington, since each side was more concerned with making sure The Other Guys didn't get anything accomplished than with, y'know...trying to run the country. And Obama was mostly caught between a rock and a hard place with a Congress too busy with its own infighting to pay any attention to anything else, and also half of it despises his very existence. Good God, the mud they tried to sling in the second election was disgusting.

So yeah. I'm well aware that Obama is not really to blame for nothing getting done. Or at least not entirely to blame. I actually admire the man for what he wanted, and tried, to do...but after a while, his attempts at bipartisan politicking mostly just left him too weak to accomplish anything. And now we get either Hillary the Cave Ogre, or Donald Fuckmothering Trump.

Once God's done with the Queen, maybe he could spare a bit of saving for the States, eh? One way or another, we're going to need it

I feel like using my main character for a fling or two, anybody up for some fun?

Power Level: Fully Flexible
Arena:

Victory: Forfeit, Knockout, or Death
Wager: Unranked
Stipulation: The thread must start with the beginning of the fight, the circumstances leading up to which are to be left vague and unanswered, and neither competitor may I.C'ly call for a truce or draw. This is to avoid the characters becoming friends or having trouble initiating a match.

I guess I'm looking for a fight. Character is as follows. No particular preference on setting or what type of opponent I'm looking for and even though I don't necessarily like death battles I wouldn't turn it away. Character is below. Just send me a Pm or whatever.

@Everett I'm sensing a theme here, who came up with this Shin-Ra-Ra-Rasputin organisation? All jokes aside it's a pretty cool concept for linked characters and I'm wondering who came up with it.

@MelonHead

Something of a shared project between Star, Enki, Ev, and sometimes-sorta myself, though Star and Enki are generally considered to be the instigators/rein-holders. They started it when the FFVII remake was first announced, hoping to cash in on a new influx of FFVII play and Enki's prehistoric connections to (one of) the original Shin-Ra Corporation(s), way back in the day. Then procrastination/Life settled in, and...well, here we are. A year or so late, and with absolutely no public interest anymore whatsoever in the horribly botched remake.

Joke's on us.

All four of us are principally multiverse narrative players (to greater or lesser extents); this is the current main thrust of our current efforts. Or at least our current public efforts.
