So, I've been lurking in the shadows, and I've seen fit to throw out some feelers.

I am looking to play out a small scale fantasy skirmish, setting is western age of discovery inspired, which in broad terms means less platemail and more muskets with fancy feathered hats

Battlefield will be a mountain pass, My side will be a small band of defenders led by a paladin.

Pitch me your rough ideas for an adversary in this situation and let's make something great together.

If you're still looking for a buddy:

How about a warband of nomadic Orc warriors, who have just crushed the musket men's army in a big battle, and are heading to destroy a nearby town - but the survivors of the musket man army manage to band together, and make a stand to block the Orc's passage. Kind of a Lord of the Rings meets Roarke's Drift?

Alternatively, an amassed group of angry peasants, who are revolting against the government. They've over thrown the local garrison, gathered loads of their weapons, and are heading towards a nearby fort. The musket men defenders have been sent forwards to stall the peasant advance, to buy time for the fort to ready its defences/gather reinforcements?

Or, or, we could throw some zombies in there somewhere. An undead plague is besieging the land, and the small force of musket men are all that remains of the provincial guard; they have been ordered to hold the pass until reinforcements from a neighbouring province can be deployed. The zombies could either be semi-intelligent (using melee weapons and a bit of savvy), or mindless but led by a necromancer type figure.

I'm open to all options though.

I find all those to sound like good ideas. I'm in a bit of a zombieslaaying mood todaty, so let's go with the zombies. I like the semi-intelligent undead approach too. Just so the entire army doesn't collapse when someone snipes the necromancer.

Hah, that's a good point.

I'm happy to lead an army of the damned. Where do we go from here? Want me to start drafting some unit types and what not?

Edit: Here's my proposal for my commander. I may have made him a bit too OP, but I felt that a "Sauron" type figure might be best. I don't intend for him to actually get stuck in the fighting, until the final show down with the Paladin - or when things get drastic for his zombies.

I've also give us a back ground to go on in his bio, which is of course subject to your input/approval.

Let's make an actual thread first, this is just an interest check.

Also, that commander looks good, quite fits into the whole epic fantasy theme I'm going for.
