@Shorticus I see just one tiny problem; I don't think the Brothers of the Covenant would go raiding with the Zaqiri. They may go there to prove their strength of arms in the arenas and the like, but I can't see them going around with the saurians and attacking innocent villages.

I can change that! Let me do so in my CS. Maybe she did mercenary work in Yossod.

Whelp, I got my population and some of my characters down. Nothing anyone really needs to take a look at, but could you check and make sure everything's good and in order @Frengo? I don't think I need anything else (I'll be adding more characters later, including several more ayels with those names of theirs, of course), but I just wanna be certain.

Fabulous; works for me. There's always those barbarians to my west that are a constant thorn in Yossod's side. :D

Fifty minutes to write up a batch of characters... Challenge accepted.

Due to time, I'll have to post more characters later. That said, these two are a fair start. Let me know if there is any problems with them eh guys?

I AM ALIVE!!!

Granted, homeless, broke, and in a city I know little about but alive.

What more could I ask for?

In the public library, only have forty more minutes to type. You know, the ole' 1 hour rule libraries have for their computer access, though this one is kind in the way that if it isn't busy than an extra hour isn't out of the question.

That said, I can now, assuming I'm not shanked for some reason, get on an hour each day, failing that every other day. So...

I'm back, and the kobolds have their leader. Know that fact, and tremble.
Or laugh your arse off, either way I'm happy. So... I'm not going to write more this second, mostly wait and see if anyone responds to this post. I'll get to work on various characters tomorrow, seems like you have the sheet dealt with otherwise @Frengo? Send me a convo if you need help with any details. Or you know, use the convo we've had since the game started. Either way.

Righty'o. Good to see you're still kicking.

I'll handle all the fluff, you just keep churning out characters, and I'll add them as I go.

@neogreggory I'll be PMing you shortly, with what I've got so far. There are some items of fluff that I wasn't able to do, such as the Kobold religion. However, most of it is done. In fact, if you could just do that religion for me, then that's all I'll ned.

But yeah, we'll sort that in the PM.

Probably shoulda just included this message in the PM, rather than double post in the OOC, but fuck it, I'ma press Post Reply.

YOLO!

@Shorticus Cizana seems nice.

Warmaster Bloodaxe wishes to take her to a chain restaurant, where they are currently offering "Two Mains for One" on their standard menu and pints of Guinness are half price.

By the way, folks? Me = SUPER EXCITED for the start.

Errr, just want to touch on something quickly, in case one of you tries to run me down on it at a later date.

I'm going to allow for players to create "NPC" characters, that is to say, characters that belong to an NPC nation or faction that you are expecting to have dealings with.

For example, I've got this guy:

I wanted to explore the final days of the Prometheans, and Bloodaxe's potential feelings towards an ancient warrior race that once ruled the planet known world. To make things a bit less one-dimensional, I wanted a character with their own story.

Any questions, then lemme know.

Hey, I wouldn't consider the prometheans in Yossod a 'lesser breed'. :P There's not a lot of human blood in them since Yossodites tend not to want to bang the hairy ape people. Well, most of them.

Due to the long hiatus of this RP, the details regarding your Prometheans are sketchy to me. I do vaguely remember you asking me about them.

They weren't obliterated by the Plague, so they must be second generation Promethean (diluted)? Or did they receive help/come up with a way to out smart the plague?

I don't mean my forgetfulness as a sign of disrespect to your works, it's just like I say, it's been a while. Any clarification would be appreciated :)

I actually don't think I ever mentioned the specifics after I conquered them. Beforehand they'd kind of been decimated by the plague, which is why Yossod conquered them rather quickly. As for afterwards, I never really thought about it to be honest aside from the fact that they're not too common. I'm probably gonna lower their population in my NS, since 10% is rather high.

EDIT: Well, I changed it and now in a nation of ~8,000,000 there's only ~400,000 prometheans total. Oh, and of course they're culturally Yossodite; they speak Yossodite and worship Ila. So no matter how 'pure' they may be any remaining Prometheans would likely look on them with disdain.

@Frengo

I've been rooting for the Prometheans to survive the whole time, although it seems they're fated to die out in the end.

Having re-read your IC post, it looks like you severely destroyed the Promethean population in your area. I think 400,000 might be a bit too generous. I think you wrote that you slew almost all of their warriors, so in Promethea's case, a great deal of the males, and then loads of the non-warriors chose death over capitulation. You then mentioned that they were severely depleted, due to these actions, and also the ongoing plague.

For their numbers to have recovered in that way, I think it would be wise to assume that they are Second Generation Prometheans; that is to say, they are all mongrels to some degree, although some First Generation Prometheans might still roam in their midst.

Thoughts?

I think lowering the population again might be a better idea. Though it's not all of them, many humans in Yossod carry some hint of animosity towards what they view as brutish and barbaric apes (despite them talking and acting exactly as a Yossodite human would) so half-breeds likely haven't been particularly common over the centuries.

EDIT: I guess it kind of depends on what a "Second Generation" promethean is. Would a promethean be second generation even if they only had, like, a single human great great grandparent?

Indeed, and superior D.N.A

The Promethean Plague was caused by a genetic defect inherent in all First Generation Prometheans (mentioned in their sheet at the time); splicing them with someone else would go a long way to eradicating that problem.

But ultimately it's up to you. If you want your home baked, pure breed, traditional monkey men, then I'd say you need to come up with how the Plague was dealt with, as it was relentless throughout the Ancient Era; the first Promethean Human-Breed King had some success at stalling it, by isolating females and introducing quarantine measures, though his efforts were crushed by a vengeful Scalethein Queen.

Human-Promethean mixes are more Gorilla-like in appearance, with more human-esque facial features, but still laden with ape-like body structures. That's what I had the Human-Breed King look like, in any case.

So getting back on track, if yours were Mongrels, some might only be slightly diluted, whilst others may be well on their way to becoming a new breed of human altogether.

Think of how we fucked the Neanderthals into extinction (or so the theory goes!). We melded our DNA with theirs, so technically modern humans are like, "Second Generation" humans, if you're using Frengo speech.

And here's something I found on a Google Image search that I found funny:

Ahhh, so true.

But what I really need to nail down, is whether the Promethean race, that is, the original Prometheans at the start of the RP, are on the verge of extinction or not. I'm happy either way.
