@iHxzardx I think it's kind of clear where Amie is, or at least where she's going. She's in Greater Duwamish, just to make it official. I'll add it into my most recent post. Check the map on page 4 of the OOC.

I have posted and begun working on a journal for Joseph Filion here. Although I did get the idea immediately from @MatthiasAngel, Thank you sir. I have actually done this in prior RPs.

@Gunther Adding a diary was actually mentioned in the CS template. I just decided to make it a frequent occurrence. It recaps the previous post, making it easier to follow: you don't have to flip back and reread the previous one. It also lets me fill in gaps and details so I can avoid frequent memories of people doing things.

On a semi related note, this is Casual. This is the first time I've ever said this: I'd appreciate it if people posted fewer paragraphs. Your writing is phenomenal, but this is Casual. You technically only need two or three per casual, and, while I appreciate the motivation to write more detailed and lengthier posts, it's making me try to think of filler content to bump up the word count, which is why I'm having problems with my most recent post: it's definitely too short, but I can't think of two whole extra paragraphs. Sure this is "high casual," but six to eight paragraphs is a little much. If nothing else, it's going to make P2P dialogue painfully dense.

You could if nothing else restrict inner monologues, memories, and/or recent events prior to the post (like Amie cleaning out another floor of the building) to the aforementioned diary/journal entries in hider tags, because right now they make it really hard to keep track of what is currently happening.

All I'm saying is, I can't keep up with 15 paragraphs, and that is not an exaggerated number.

Believe it or not, I have been working very hard at minimizing my post size. The ones you are getting are much smaller than what I am accustomed to. The longest post I ever made was about 55 paragraphs long and encompassed over ten pages of MS Word Times New Roman 12pt. I actually wrote a book last November in NaNoWriMo as well. I just need to refine that one quite a bit before I consider publishing. It was over 52,000 words, raw. I don't know if I can get it down to 3-4 paragraphs. That just leaves so much unsaid that needs to be said. :D

This is casual, but there's no hard max on paragraphs. If they want to post ten to twenty paras, they can be my guest. I'm just getting back into this stuff now (had about three or four years of RP experience on and off prior), so I'm trying to stick to about five paragraphs for now. Just like there's no maximum though, you aren't required to post as much as anyone else so long as you're above casual's suggested minimum. Eventually I'll be posting more, as well.

Spelling. Also, use the possessions section for such things as clothes.

I will accept now, as it suits me fine, but please work on it :)

Feel free to post in IC.

@Gunther Maybe it's not so much the number of paragraphs as it is the length of them. I was mobile when I posted that, so everything looked a lot longer than it was. In your case, with the one with like 15 paragraphs, you had several people all reacting to the same thing, so technically it was only 4-5 paragraphs long. Overall your paragraphs have been pretty easy to read, and it's all stuff that's happening currently. I'm talking a bit more about @DeepestApology.

@Treue Roleplay here if you enjoy writing at least a paragraph or two, character development, and some depth. Grammar and spelling are encouraged. Generally one paragraph (a few sentences) per post.

Sure there's no "hard max," but there's a general max. We're obviously way above the number of sentences per paragraph, but 10-20 paragraphs is, well, ridiculous. I joined a Casual RP, not just because I liked the story, setting and premise, but because it was Casual. I enjoy writing "at least a paragraph or two" and 4-5 paragraphs at the most (for high casual, anyway). Not only is 10+ paragraphs hard to keep up with, it makes me look (and feel) like I'm a lazy writer.
--------
A few suggestions to other writers, in regard to my journal/diary suggestion:

@DeepestApology In your (first post), you could turn the second paragraph into a journal entry. Not that your character needs to write in an actual journal; it could be memories or thoughts he's having, because it's mostly backstory.

@Section Your entire first and third paragraph could be journal entries. They're all history and memories, and you could remove both of them without having a significant impact on the current story. I personally think it'd help to have them in hider tags as either an entry or a memory/thought your character is having, because it makes it easier to catch up to your character if I or someone else need to go back and refresh what happened last time.

@CourierSix Awesome. I'm looking forward to it. I think your character is one of the most interesting ones here. Everyone else is like "The world is destroyed and it sucks," and he's like "Yeah this is my world now."

EDIT: I've updated my second post. It's a bit longer and more interesting now.

@CourierSix Ok so a handful of comments on your post, all of which you are free to dismiss, because it is of course ultimately up to you.

Except for this first one:
1. Typo. You wrote "grouo" instead of "group" near the end of the last paragraph.

2. Generally avoid saying "high-grade military weapons" or "powerful guns" or whatever. Do a little research and throw some names in there. M4 barbine for the modern military rifle, M16 for a little bit older (Vietnam era). Remington 870 for the modern military shotgun, Winchester 1912 for a little bit older (also Vietnam era). Some SMG's, like the MP5K and Skorpion vz. 61, are classic mob/gang weapons that your guys could have looted. I encourage you to look up models on your own to find something appropriate for the year, availability, or just the fun. The more details, the more of your picture we get to see.

Wikipedia is even nice enough to provide whole pages per category: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_combat_s.. Just make sure you get approval from the GM!

3. I'm a little confused by the behavior of the leader chilling in the truck bed. You set him up to be a formidable person who He was calm and confident and just instantly melted. Like, he didn't prepare at all for Raguel thinking he had backup? I was kind of expecting him to eyeball Reguel and lie with a straight face. Instead Raguel was like "Hi, whatcha doing in your truck?" and he was like "OH CRAP I WASN'T PREPARED FOR HIM TO TALK TO ME."

If you want to go ahead and write him off as easy prey to emphasize Raguel's cunning, by all means, but maybe make the leader look less like a formidable opponent.

1.) Fixed, thanks. Here I was thinking that I made it all the way through that without having a typo. 8/

2.) I say "high-grade military weapons" instead of describing what they had because what is the case is that it is an assortment of weaponry, from M16s to M14s to M870 MCSs. I wanted to paint the picture of randomness and non-uniformity, instead of going the route of explaining each NPC's loadout. I feel like that makes for a more difficult read (except for Gunther, probably. 8P). If that's the way you all think it'd be better as, though, then I'd be happy to change that.

3.) Also intentional. The intention was that, despite how confident the leader was, or how well he planned this series of events, there was nothing he could do when outmatched in terms of firepower, numbers, and most importantly wit. An individual's formidability, realistically, doesn't say much when put against odds that simply cannot be accounted for.

But I'll keep it in mind when I get around to writing my next post. I appreciate the feedback.

@MatthiasAngel Gotta say I really hate how you try to "fix" or "correct" everyone's post. Leave it how they write it. I understand typos, in fact @CourierSix you have two others as well 3rd Paragraph "with a face that hetrayed expectancy." and 5th "Of course, it did not take him long to fighre it out." but still... I don't want you "correcting" my post. ask me questions, please do, if you need extra help understanding. but don't suggest. I don't want any of it. From anyone, except the GM if he needs me to change something. No offence intended but I am starting to get a little touchy on the subject because you do it to everyone. and all their posts.

Thanks for the corrections. I haven't gotten around to downloading Docs yet, so typos are still a problem. General rule for me: See a typo, call it out. I have no issue with that.
