"When you say if their mind is clear, do you refer to the dragon, or the person who finds it?" she questioned. This was getting a little complicated, and she laughed, waving her arms in front of her. "Nevermind, I'm sure there's plenty of happenstances and probabilities for each situation. I don't remember asking you, but is there a reason you were flying around here?"

"None in particular," said Makan. "As I have said before, I came this way seeking a new home. It's traditional for a young dragon to leave their parents home and find a mate. As I have not found a place to live, nor a mate, I technically have no home, save for the village." He thought for a moment. "But what else do you wish to know, Sara?"

"What kinds of things do you look for in a mate? I mean, aside from that dragon we were sacraficing maidens to, there aren't many dragons around this area. I'm not sure if staying here is your best best if you're looking for another dragon." She chuckled. "I'm sure you'll find someone in no time. You seem like you have a fair amount going for you. If nothing else, you could always serenade her." Sara teased.

Makan chuckled. "There was someone, a few decades ago," he said. The dragon lowered his head. "I can show you who she was with my memories. Press your hand on my brow. Through physical contact, I can show you my memories."

Her eyes widened. "Okay.." She reached jer hand towards him and gently laid her palm against his brow as instructed.

Makan closed his eyes to focus on the memories. Sara saw the dragoness from Makan's perspective. She was more petite than he, with emerald and silver scales. Her eyes changed color with her emotion. Her attitude was humble and demure, but she showed her true self when alone: feisty, fun-loving. It took a moment for Makan to break the connection. "I've never met another like her," he rumbled softly. His tone carried a note of sadness in it.

Blinking after he released their connection, she looked at her hand for a moment before sighing softly. "She looks lovely. I noticed that you used the past tense. I thought you dragons lived for many, many years. If not for you, the dragon who was terrorizing us would have continued to do so for who knows how long...If it isn't too personal," Sara gave pause as she watched his sadness and bit her lip. He had to have expected her to question what happened. "What happened to her? If you don't mind telling me. I can see that thinking about it causes you a deal of dismay.."

"She is most likely still alive," said Makan. "She took a mate, one who I warned her never truly loved her. But she never knew a good love. Her suitors before me were all like that." He puffed steam and smoke from his nostrils. "I can only hope she is doing well, and that her mate is a handbag for some rich woman." He rarely wished evil on anyone, so this was a stark contrast to how he usually was.

Sara raised an eyebrow. "Well, why don't you try re-connecting with her? I'm sure she's learned something from the people - er dragons over the years." She gave Makan's scales a reasurring pat. "There's no harm in trying to go find her. I say we leave early tomorrow morning in search for her. You seem like you really like her. Better to try and see than to always wonder forever. What do you say?"
