Who would be interested in a cold war type of NRP where two players are super power nations with their own set of characters and allies in a ideological conflict to dominate the world/galaxy/universe?

Here are some of the ideas I have:

-Scifi Space Opera where two powerful factions seek to rule the Milky Way
-Cold War with Capitalists vs Communists in a modern dieselpunk setting
-Fantasy setting with two domineering gods manipulating mortal nations in their struggle for the Aegis
-Two massive, powerful empires in a effective clash against each other (Like a alt history Rome and China in a massive endless war for world domination) with allies as levies.
-A cold war conflict akin to Sparta vs Athens (The Peloponessian war was a amazing war, read up on it if you haven't)

I'm all ears to ideas anyone interested may have.

Once we agree on a arrangement, we will build the world as we RP, perhaps with a map to go with it.

A 1x1 Nation Roleplay... I'd be down for that.

The Scifi Space Opera sounds interesting to me. But, are you interested in doing the Cold War in the Victorian Era or the early 1900s?

Early 1900's sounds like a interesting choice, but I may be having a hard time imagining it because it'd probably look more like webs of alliances. Or maybe that's just my biases caused by thinking of WW1's prelude and the concept of great powers that permeated that time period. (early 20th century would work nice for a small group NRP however) I can't help but imagine france vs Britain when thinking of a Victorian Cold War which I lack interest in since I like Cold Wars where the division is based around ideological divides that transcend groups of individuals. Gods are individuals, admittably, but gods to a strong extent represent ideals more than people.

I am naturally apt to go with a space opera set-up in general due to the sheer theatrics and situations you get in a galactic sandbox with two big kids throwing sand at each other. The scale would be rediculous, but that's how it is in every space opera anyways. Due to there only being two players there's less need for balance outside of us as well since the super powers will have all the good toys anyways. Almost all the civs/species would be basically NPCs.

That's fine. I'd say that we do the space opera idea. With that in mind, do you have any ideas where you wish to go?

Likely in a place that is distant from you, but not too distant.

Like in a adjacent galactic quadrant.

To show what I mean (this is a example arrangement of the two super powers):

Here's the map I use:

I'd guess that I get orange and you get the blue shapes?

And how many other countries/nations/empires are going to be there? Also, I take it that we are in control of billions of systems?

We will go with that (Me having blue while you have orange).

And how many other countries/nations/empires are going to be there?

As many as we want; middle powers with interstellar space travel that act as allies to us will be naturally well defined. The galactic equivalent of the third world will be pretty much free to all sorts of strangeness either of us wants to occupy it with.

Also, I take it that we are in control of billions of systems?

Yes. Both super powers span a large portion of the galaxy, the full extent of our power probably will be even greater than what is shown on the map when you factor in what 'alliances' we may have with lesser societies.

Logistically it sounds like a nightmare, but mind that 90% of star systems are basically glorified resource caches. The 10% of stars with habitability would be at varying levels of development. Either way, we both are massive galaxy spanning super powers and have the technology and power to hold such vast amount of space while still having incentives to dominate the whole galaxy. FTL will need to be able to traverse the galaxy in days.

Alright, that sounds good. Shall we start on making the Nation Sheets?

Sure. However it may take a day or two to consolidate ideas for me.

The only caveats I have are that whatever you make, please don't use space elves, fandom content or anthromorphic animals.
