I can literally see your name, I know you are looking at the thread man. Stop being quiet, I'm not writing up a post in preparation before I get a yes or no. I seriously need an answer.

It is hard for me to find reasons to be excited about a roleplay, I am totally impatient when I am.

Friendly electric ghost just robbed a drunk monster eating police woman in public then offered to buy everyone drinks.

Edited for accuracy. Note the distinct lack of edginess when you read it properly.

Still a walking engine of hell, also robbed someone for no discernible reason.

ALSO WON'T ANSWER ME.

You too Starfall, do you consent to the bar brawl?

Note that a character concept does not actually define the character's personality.

Do I consent to a fight in a thread labeled World of War within the Arena right after hitting someone over the head with a glass mug?

That's a silly question and I'm not going to answer because it sounds like a trick. Do what you like and I shall react accordingly.

Dude I'm not saying Edgy is a bad thing, I never did. Doesn't make it not edgy.

I literally have a walking abomination that feeds on the negative emotions of others, is made of almost black red metal, believes itself greater than a god, and is actually the avatar of a planet sized organism that can be considered an eldritch horror.

I also have an assassin with severe psychosis and a sexual preference for killing people.

Edgy is my dish and I enjoy edgy.

As long as you aren't acting edgy in person, edgy people bug the shit out of me.

Edit: I have to ask. Since I made the rules it would make me a cosmic tier shitter for not obeying them.

That's cool, he's not an edgelord though, his character doesn't act edgy and hellectricity is more campy than anything else. You're stereotyping him because he comes from hell and stereotyping is bad.

Stereotyping is bad.

I am admitting that I am stereotyping.

But dude.

A CyberDemon is edgy as a concept.

Edit: A CyberDemon that rides a space motorcycle and consumes souls.

A demon is edgy.

A cyber demon is campy.

A cyber demon that rides a space motorcycle and consumes souls is amazing.

Edgy characters are meant to be taken seriously. They're characters that the player wants you to be terrified of because of how real they are man. Gore, mutilation, death, and rape are all tools the edgelord loves to employ but are ultimately pointless without some form of emotional investment and when halfassed writers throw them out like charity they become lame. This is the hallmark of the edgelord.

Resolution is as far from that as you can get. He's an awesome character yes, but the inherent ridiculousness of the concept backed by Nega's skill as a writer are what make him awesome, if you're approaching him the same way you'd approach late-00's Batman movie you're completely missing the point of the character. He's early-90's Batman and is awesome because he sees your grit and he jumps over it with a motorcycle while hollering at the top of his lungs. Even in character Resolution isn't exactly serious, grabbing someone's phone doesn't change that, my little sister does that all the time and it's not edgy so much as annoying.

It's the difference between Devil May Cry and Resident Evil. The later wants you to revel in it while the former wants you to laugh at it.

*Pinches the bridge of his nose.*

Why are we arguing about the usage of the word Edgy?

We don't see eye to eye on it. And that's okay.

I'm not insulting the damn character, I'm just saying I see it as edgy.

Because you're wrong. By way of being wrong you are not only missing the point of the character you are devaluing(and insulting) the work that Nega put into it.

And yes, I can confirm his displeasure with being referred to as an edgelord.

With literally 17 definitions on Urban Dictionary, and an entirely different definition in the Oxford Dictionary, there is a huge selection of meanings to choose from.

My perception of Edgy is anything that pertains to the Dark and Gritty while generally centering around things that were adopted by Emo and Gothic culture. Satanic symbolism, darkness and flames. Red and black coloring. So on and so forth, you get the picture.

He matches all of these check marks, and I'm not actively insulting anyone by having a point of view that differs from yours. People that don't see eye to eye aren't insulting eachother, and saying that I AM insulting you by not agreeing with someone is exactly like this:

"I don't like Rye Bread, I think it's bitter and crumbly."
"Well I think Rye Bread is the best bread, and you're insulting me for saying you don't like Rye Bread."

God damn, can't people have fucking differing opinions anymore? Or do people all have to agree, lest we start an argument.

The part where my point of view hurts someone's feelings.

Especially if that point of view isn't of ill intent.

Especially if that point of view is stated to not be of ill intent.

Edit: Especially if that point of view, that is stated to not be of ill intent, was used in jest.

You could be of the opinion that I am a dog in real life.

You would be objectively wrong because I have stated many times in the past that I am a cat in real life.

You may like dogs, you may love dogs, and imagining me as a dog may increase your opinion of me. But I am a cat and I hate dogs and it is insulting to be called a dog.

I have no way of stopping you from calling me a dog beyond letting you know that it's not cool to call cats dogs.

That's an absurd scenario I felt like sharing but if you don't understand how an opinion can be insulting regardless of intent then I think you can at least understand the concept of respecting his wish not to be called an edgelord in public. You are prioritizing your opinion over his comfort and that's not nice.
