Delving into the Fantasy Flight Games: Star Wars roleplaying game (Edge of the Empire) got me thinking about cool campaigns to run in the Star Wars universe. A story my local group has gotten round to in rough lines is the story I would present for you today. Since every group makes different choices (my group went an entirely different direction than I expected) I would be interested if a small group of you people would give it a try!

It would be set in the time in between episode VI and VII, in which the First Order is slowly testing the limits of its power, and the boundaries of the treaties made with the newly formed Republic.

The story requires a group (4-6) of people in a number of different configurations:
-The entire group on the same vessel for some reason (I would suggest a smuggling crew).
-A part of the group being chased by a player character bounty hunter (or team if you like).
-A small group of fighter pilots, be it rebellion, mercenary or whatever.
-A variation upon the theme above.

Whatever picked, the group needs a reason to be chased (being in check with some of the core mechanics of the Edge of the Empire Rpg from FFG).

Now I don’t think I will be using the system from FFG unless there is some overwhelming enthusiasm for it (it would slow down combat in a play-by-post, as almost any system does). So we’d just do a general free form casual roleplay. I would however suggest a 5 day posting period to keep the game running.

So at the moment it's smuggler, pilot, medic, mechanic... Hmm....

Dammit, if only freeloader was a role to be accepted :D. N33t just sitting in his cabin and wasting resources :D. I guess it could somewhat pass as hacker... :D

On more serious note I guess a cook or diplomat (professional liar :D) look like open options. Open to suggestions as well.

In other words one player (or more, whatever) may call bounty hunter role and try to hunt other players ? Sounds... interesting. Possible option as well :D.

I'm so tempted to go with VIP spoiled snotty brat just to annoy people off, lol. I will choose concept tomorrow though.

@frapet If you are looking for me to pitch idea's, the classic YT freighter series is always a good, if unoriginal, choice. Might I suggest maybe a Gozanti Cruiser, which, before Disney came along and turned them into the Empire's Escort Carriers, were anti-piracy freighters. Freighters that were designed to look harmless, but were, in fact, packing serious firepower in order to take out the pirates that plagued the areas that the ships would run through... The only problem with them is that they are slow as old people fucking.

The other that I would suggest is a Consular-class that was refitted for cargo-purposes, then later, re-refitted to pack a little extra heat for our crew >:3
