I am new to this site and roughly new to role playing. I would like to know if there are any parties interested in doing a simple Scifi space rp. I am mostly interested in Original stuff, but wouldn't mind doing fan worlds as long as I can play my OC. Working on personality mostly.

Maybe the RP can take place in a solar system with lots of planets and lots of different aliens. That would leave it nice and open-ended so we can all be creative with our characters. It might be a good idea to start it somewhere smaller, though, like all of our characters can be on a space station. That way we're not all at opposite ends of a planet or galaxy, so we can get the action going right away :D

I am so sorry I fell of the planet (accepted new job irl) yes I am interested. Not sure how to start :'D. I like the space station idea. maybe it is a market that draws in a lot of visitors from all over. Before I get myself too far has this already started? Any takers on starting or want to post more development before taking off?

I enjoy playing as alien characters.

@wkjones I think that the idea of the space station having just one function could create limitations when it comes to character creation; it should be multipurpose, as in have a market as well as a lot of other things, like research labs and repair hubs.

The biggest issue at this stage is that we don't have a central plot or story. Any ideas, fam?

Why not just a sandbox? Unless there's some reason they'd all be drawn to each other.

noticed this thread been here for a while, and I would say there is two simplest ways to make a sci-fi rp and that's a Merc group, or some kind of special galactic forces. Merc group is a lot easier to deal with sense it's more open for possibilities while the other your kind of limited to good only. either way would accept special jobs/missions from various factions if a merc group, otherwise from the governments of various planets, which members could decide if they wish to be on the team. even make it where every roleplayer has chances to create their own missions and everything, even allow multiple missions to happen at same time.

When it comes to Sci-Fi rps I think I've have more experience than I've had with other roleplay types sense I had a group who purely did Sci-Fi on another site.

The actual Merc ship/compound or Special Forces ship/compound where everyone lives would befairly big, if it's a compound/spacestation/what ever, then it would have shops and stuff but if it's ship then literally just a mobile home. which who ever is the GM would have to control where the ship is at any given time so would have to make it stop by planets and space stations for various reasons.

I can certainly push my character to that side. Any takers for GM? And any up for coming up for a plot. (plot creation is my weakness ^^b). When we have a plot that is good to go we can all tag in with a short or long description of our players/ characters. I am loving the interest this is gathering :D.
