Biography: Hugo Himura is half-Japanese, half-Canadian, though he's spent his entire life in Japan. His parents met at university, but his mother ended up dropping out due to her pregnancy. After he was born, she left him with his father and returned to Canada, where she is a professional musician. His father is a serious is a serious man who didn't want Himura's mother visiting, due to lingering bad feelings. So, Hugo has only met her a few times. One of these times, she gave him his first musical instrument, a viola. Even though his father disapproves of music, Himura keeps with it. Lately, his father has been pressuring him to get serious about his studies, but Himura cares more about music and having fun.

She never bothers to wear her school uniform, and the teachers have given up on trying to make her. As such, she tends to wear this type of outfit everywhere, much to the irritation of the school's staff.

Personality: Kata is the type of person that refuses to lose to anyone. Over-competitive, determined and reckless, she is unable to bring herself to turn away from a fight. No matter who or what she is trying to take on, she is confident that she can and will beat it. This attitude can tend to get her into trouble, but her stubborn nature, quick thinking and skills can also get her out of it, at least most of the time.

When she is fighting, it becomes clear that she's a little bit of an adrenaline junkie, and will happily put herself in danger just for the thrill of it, making her perfectly willing to take on fights for others. This has the unusual effect of making her seem quite selfless, when in reality she is anything but.

Her attitude towards fights changes a lot if she ever gets angry. While normally she is quite fiery and hot-tempered, once she passes a certain point her anger becomes much colder and more frightening to deal with. This only really happens if someone has done something to hurt her beforehand or damage her pride during the fight.

She tends to put on a bit of a false front, appearing carefree and relaxed in response to confrontation and never seeming to take it seriously when other people mention her issues, acting like she doesn't care. If people put her further, she has a range of tactics to deflect from it, including cutting remarks, frosty silence and shameless flirting. It should be said that she will probably do the last one either way.

Biography: Born and raised in Inaba, Toka always found the town kind of boring. She was an only child and her parents, while they cared about her, weren't very attentive and just ignored her leaving her to do her own thing most of the time. She was never the most attentive pupil in school, always feeling as though there were better things to do than sit and memorise a bunch of facts she'd never use.

When the murders started happening, she was a lot less freaked out than a lot of people. Sure, it wasn't good and she found it really messed up, but something was finally happening in Inaba. In the midst of all the craziness, she actually stopped causing trouble a little, seeing as there was actually something unusual happening to distract her for once. She calmed down, was paying more attention in class and actually got pretty good grades for a while.

Once it was all over, though, she returned to her old ways even more than before. Having something actually happen in Inaba just made it even harder to go back to the sleepy town's usual atmosphere. Currently, she spends her time messing with people and practising her martial arts skills in search of something to do, but she finds herself lacking some sort of purpose in life while people around her are deciding what they want to do.
