@Vocab I assume tags are done the same way as the little hider tabs? Or just a little note beforehand? I haven't been on this site since the crash years back so still trying to learn all the stuff.
In the past House of Powers, and World of Powers, and even The Uprising, have done some legitimately gruesome scenes where we didn't have to do the NSFW tag/hider. I still think that if your content needs to be placed in nsfw, then it should be posted at all. To make vague references, yeah sure why not; but to go in detail about some rape or even rape like situation, I'm not down for it.
I think for now everything is just either light banter or feeling out how things might go down. I generally tend to nope away from sexual details just because I'm not fairly confident or comfortable with writing it. Yet I have little to no issue describing someone having their liver eaten (go figure). Needless to say I won't go out of my way to make anyone uncomfortable and will follow the vibe given off of other posters as to how I will conduct my descriptions.
Thankfully I'm very unlikely (read: not going) to agree to that! I think we can rely on everyone's creativity to advance their characters under extreme pressure and leave sexual violence to the lazy screenwriters of Game of Thrones (one reason I stopped watching was 'cause of the addition of scenes not in the book and that's depicting a medieval society, even depraved scientists would fear the revulsion their colleagues would show them at such an act).
I am grateful that everyone is able to get on the same page quickly and listen to other's concerns before we even start, it's a great signal for things to come.
Now I'm gonna get off my soap box and write up my CS!
@wolverbells I look forward to rping with you as well!
And of course as Vocab said if I ever hit a sore point or anything that makes anyone uncomfortable please let me know and I'll go back and fix. When role playing it's important to work with the people collaborating and respect their boundaries. Whereas when personal writing you can be as cringey as you feel comfortable with.
Oh and on a side bar point. I mention it in my bio but I'd like everyone to be aware. I am a mother to a young child so while it shouldn't affect my rate of response there may be times I can't sit and respond. Should this occur I'll pop on via mobile and let everyone know as well as give permission to whom ever im interacting with to use my character to move the plot along. I don't expect more than 24 hours to pass without being able to post but I rather give warning in advance than suddenly spring it on you in case of an emergency.
I've just moved into a new role at work so I too may be quite busy (I'll attempt to post during my lunch, y'know, if I actually get a chance to take one) but I'll always get a post in the OOC in the evening and I keep tabs on everything on my journey to and from work.
@Jinxer Maybe it should be a type of conditioning thing? They do it as a variable for a future test. Maybe they use it as a chance to start introducing a mild paralysis drug into her food xD
I am very considerate of others, (I know Jinx will agree with me on this) so consent is a very big deal. I know we can all work together in making sure that none of us will do something to a character without having written/verbal consent of their writer. We're very understanding people. I'm currently working on my degree and a senior thesis so there will be times where I might not be able to post as fast. Especially on weekdays. I'm sure when we first start things will move somewhat fast, but as soon as introductions are made we'll slow it down to a pace where we can all keep up.
