Name: Asher Brandt
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Height: 5'9
Weight: 58kg
Personality: Cheerful, yet rebellious. That would be the quickest way to describe it. The cheerfulness comes from his enjoyment as being the top dog of Vault's lower streets, he enjoyed that life, it was exhilarating, and taught him to not take things too seriously, lest they pull you down unexpectedly. He only recently became more rebellious after being adopted, suddenly thrown into a family with expectations, he's honestly not sure how to handle it, but the younger siblings he now has makes it a bit easier as they seem to admire him.
He's also prideful, he carries himself with strength, he's more of a man of action than words, rude and brash at times, but he can be a kind of informal polite, and values the concept of respect. He dislikes backstabbers and deceivers most, as he's seen many suffer at the hands of those kinds. His palate is simple, the complex dishes his new family makes for dinner are good, but there's just so much going on he can't really enjoy them, so sometimes he sneaks out at night just to hit the old stands where he always ate.
Aura: Charcoal gray with orange ember-like particles.
Weapon: Katana, Sheath,
Monado's Power Greatsword
Weapon Name: Ember/Inferno
Weapon Functions: The sheathe is designed to accept dust ammunition, allowing Asher to add a buff to his blade with each successive sheathing of his blade. The blade itself is designed to flow dust through it in a loop, allowing it to keep these buffs for extended periods of time. As an extra effect when applying a new buff, he can fire his blade out of the sheath to increase the speed of his draw strikes and as a surprise and power factor.
The last function is the Greatsword function that requires the blade to be sheathed, this function is called "Inferno". By infusing the entire weapon with aura, he can cause it to "open" up and generate a large blade of aura. Due to it's pure energy composition, it is not only essentially a lightsaber, it is also very costly, but it almost ensures a winning blow if it lands. He's not likely to use this for longer than one or two moments due to the cost, but perhaps as a surprise attack or a power strike at an opportune moment. This is his trump card.
Finally, the sheath is designed in a way that lets him dual wield his sheath and sword.
Armor/ Clothing: (I'll get to this later)
Semblance Name: Phantom Twin
Semblance: This Semblance allows one to create a phantom twin of themselves to fight alongside them. The phantom twin can be summoned rather freely, so he can summon it while attacking to strike an opening. It can be difficult to duel him as a result, especially when both him and his clone are dual wielding. He can infuse them with dust for elemental clones with various extra effects. He is also able to switch with the clone which takes a few moments. Finally, he can actually fight his own clones for practice.
Strengths: Asher is very instinct-based, allowing him to excel greatly in combat. When focusing on one opponent he picks up on a large variety of patterns. He's incredibly strong on the offensive as he has various tools that let him create openings and exploit them. He's best in a duel, and against multiple opponents he's only decent, and survives them easily only because of his Semblance which allows him to turn 2v1s into 2v2s.
He's got excellent potential as a commander, as his confidence and forwardness inspires those around him. He tends to keep a level head despite him being a little hot-headed.
Weaknesses: If he starts thinking in a fight, he's more likely to lose. Beyond that, his weakness in combat is actually dedicated and quick ranged combatants, as he doesn't have any means of ranged combat other than his Phantom Twin which he can send out to attack in his stead. He doesn't have many defensive techniques which makes defending difficult for him, plus after using the Inferno mode on his weapon, he can be quite vulnerable.
He has a fair bit of pride in his self-taught swordsmanship so he's prone to defending that honour. Academically he's nothing special either.
Bio:
Among the things that were done to help Vault grow was to move the orphans somewhere, and Vault was that somewhere. Asher Brandt is one of those orphans, who were given a strange new home, with streets they watched be built from the ground up and call their own, it was something of a mark of pride for these kids, Asher was no different. With the support coming in from the surrounding nations however, many of these children were put up to see their aptitudes as hunters and then trained if they qualified. Asher failed initially, it honestly devastated him, since his friends that he grew up with qualified, and were adopted by families from other nations.
He didn't stop though, if he couldn't use dust or semblance or whatever, then he'll just use a sword. For a couple years he became a well-known delinquent around Vault. Running around with a stick, or two, he pretty much started gang wars with the other kids and eventually his actions brought him attention from Lustre Academy. They were surprised he failed the aptitude tests, because this time he passed way beyond their average. Families in the area noticed and tried to adopt him, initially he refused, but eventually he would accept and become part of the Brandt family.
He had trouble fitting into his new family, new siblings, new parents, it seems this family was one that moved to Vault in the recent years. The father was ambitious and sought to create a legacy here in Vault with his family, and adopting skilled hunters and huntresses was part of that. Considering Asher's more rough attitude he didn't quite fit in, but fortunately his siblings were more accepting of him. Still with that all said and done, he was admitted to Lustre Academy with little trouble, and given him his choice equipment by his own idea and selection.
