Name: Lucas Snider
Age: 40
Nationality: Canadian
Gear/Weapons:
- Heckler & Koch G36K (the carbine variant)
- Heckler & Koch USP P12
- Standard Medical Supplies (though in greater amounts than usual)
- A shitload of broadspectrum antibiotics (We don't know what diseases might be on the otherside, so Lucas wants to be prepared)
Apperance:

Bio: Lucas grew up as the son of a Canadian doctor living in Ottawa. His mother was an engineer, so from an early age Lucas was groomed for higher education and success in academics. His parents had hopes that he would follow in their footsteps, going on to become either a surgeon, a scientist, or an engineer, and for the majority of his high school career, Lucas followed that path, planning to become a doctor like his father. It was around grade 10, though, that one of his classmates invited him to join their youth army cadet corps (basically a military run version of boy scouts). When Lucas decided to accept their offer, he quickly became infatuated with the structure, order and purpose of the military lifestyle. Over the course of a year, his plans gradually changed: He would still try to become a doctor, but first he wanted to join the army medical corps. His parents, while shocked at this sudden shift, continued to support him, and with their blessing, joined the army. He passed all his training with above average (but not particularly impressive) results in all fields except the medical training. In that field, he excelled and had no issues remaining on track for his position as an army corpsman.

Lucas was not deployed immediately, so while he was living on a military base he continued in his studies by attending night school. This proved difficult and time consuming, but he managed to stick with it, eventually earned a full medical degree. The downside of this was that his intensive studies put a serious damper on his military performance, leading to him being passed over for promotions in favor of those with a more single minded military focus.

When the portal opened, Lucas was one of the few members the Canadian military sent to Germany to be apart of the task force. The reasoning behind this was his extensive medical background, as well as his combat medic training would make him invaluable to the the reconnaissance teams. He would both be able to treat life threatening injuries and also provide long term care in the case of extended deployments.

Personality: Friendly and helpful (as a combat medic should be), Lucas is a level headed individual who always has an optimistic view of the situation at hand. His upbringing and schooling have lead to him being very curious, and though he has long since gotten over the feeling of 'gotta learn everything!' he felt in his youth, he is still constantly on the lookout for new and interesting skills to learn. One of his major flaws, though, is a tendency to talk down to people who act like they know it all. Lucas has worked his ass off to become as educated as he is, but that has also made him keenly aware of his own shortcomings. People who don't recognize their own, or try to sound like they always know what's best (especially if they don't) annoy him, and if someone were to start acting like hot shit, he would be quick to put them in their place.

Heckler & Koch HK69A1: Hand-held pistol style Grenade launcher
Heckler & Koch USP: .45 ACP Variant sidearm pistol.

Apperance:

Bio:
Alright, let's just get this out of the way: Yes, his grandfather was a Nazi, moving on.

Born in America, his father raised him on stories of living in the German Ghetto of post WW2. His father, who became an American citizen and then joined the US NAVY as a medic during Vietnam. They lived as well as anyone else on a retired benefits package, slightly padded because his dad worked for the VA after leaving the service so he filled out his own VA forms with full knowledge of all the little tips and tricks to get every penny coming to them. Andrew Studied hard and had full plans to go to west-point then enlist as an officer, lifetime career to the meatgrinder...Then his dad died.

Technically both his parents died, but he was never strongly attached to her. She acted more like a big sister than a mother as she wanted to be his friend rather than someone to depend on. They were out to the store when they got front-ended by a drunk driver who went over the middle divider, the front seats were impaled by the engine block and the back seat wasn't much better but he survived with 'superficial' damage to his limbs more than his main flesh.

Now an orphan too young to emancipate, he had to move to Germany to be with his ailing grandfather. Rind was a nice enough city, named after the river, or the river named after the city? He went to school there while taking care of his grandfather who volunteered at the local Hebrew temple in Contrition for what he did when he was younger. "After it was all over, after the dust had settled, we were shown just what we had been fighting for that whole time...it broke something inside of me. Not all of us fought on the winning, or right, side of the war."

Different than he planned, but still on his schedule. He fast-tracked himself to attend Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr in Hamburg rather than returning to America to go to West Point. He was doing this to honor his family, not his country. He graduated 2 years later in the middle of his class and was one of the lucky few drawn from a lottery to be interviewed. He told his story of living on both sides of the ocean with nothing but propaganda to filter his views of the world but not letting it cloud his judgment. They deemed his clearheadedness a unique trait that would be needed when dealing with entities on the other side.
Personality:
A calm and clear-minded individual, he likes to gather all the information he can before coming to a judgment. Often a member of student councils and a personal mediator in conflicts growing up. He is a herald of peace in times of war, a dove with eagles claws.

Name: Karl Schultz
Age: 37
Nationality: German
Gear/Weapons:
WAlther P38
HK MP7
PzF 3 Bunkerfaust

Apperance:

Bio:
Karl Schultz was born out in West Germany, near the great wall that used to separate the country. He never met his mother, but his father was an officer in the German army, and so was his father before and his before him so it was only natural that Karl enlisted as soon as he came of age. Because of his family's history of being officers, Karl was pushed to follow them. At the start, Karl was a slow learner, unable to follow even the simplest procedures of an officer. But he persisted, slowly climbing ranks and learning. After a few years he was finally given command of a small squad, and though they never saw any action. After that it was an easy journey for him, a better grasp of what was expected of him and better understanding of his troops and how to lead them. While he is still considered one of the lower skilled officers in the Bundeswehr, many still recognize him for his persistence and his ability to adapt to his squad.

While he wasn't the first choice to lead Team 1 into the New Realm, he was given the position as a chance to prove himself, something he had been asking for for a very long time. He oversaw the training of all four teams over the course of the two weeks they spent and took time to understand each of the soldiers partaking in the expedition.

Personality:
Neutral. Neutral is the best word to describe Karl's personality. You are either on his good side and get treated with respect, or you are on his bad side and get treated with a punch to the face. Despite this he likes to put up a tough front while on duty, often yelling when not needed or just quoting lines he's heard in American war movies, though even when yelling at them he still respects those that serve under him providing they listen and act like soldiers. He is a very patriotic man and would gladly charge headfirst into battle if his country asked it of him, even though he has never been given the chance until now. The same goes for his men, he would put himself into the line of fire to protect those serving under him.

Other:
Originally was not slated to be on the N.W.R.T.F, let alone the one leading it. However Team 1's leader was in a car accident two days before training began and Karl was selected to go in his place.

Despite how he acts, he has never seen action other then training drills.

Surprisingly, he apparently has a good sense of humour though rarely shows it.
