Species: Chroma Knight

Personality: Jalen is generally a quiet boy. He isn't necessarily antisocial, just introverted; and he prefers to focus his attention on his interests rather than spending his time and energy chatting. When coaxed into (or required to join) conversation, he is quite empathetic, and very eager to be liked and helpful.
Jalen's biggest fear is that he will become irrelevant, or a burden, and as a result be left behind by someone. As a result, he does everything he can to try and prove his worth to the people who are important to him. This is evidenced in his high grades and his devotion to music. When someone needs advice, Jalen will search his brain for a solution. When a situation arises, Jalen tries his hardest to contribute- even if his contribution is just to stay out of the way.
Jalen sees life as sacred, and his idealistic views often mix with his role as a Knight. He feels very strongly about protecting the planet from the aliens, because he believes it's the role of the Knights to be defenders.

History: Jalen was raised by a single adoptive father, a baker, without any memories of either of his birth parents. He didn't harbor any resentment about this, but somewhere in the back of his mind he had developed a fear of rejection. He became more and more introverted as time went by, and retreated more and more into books and fantasies. He both fantasized and stressed over his future as a fear of inadequacy drove him to strive for perfection. Memories of happier times often became his rock, almost a form of therapy. At the same time, he tried to form lasting links with other people in order to reinforce his own sense of worth.
The night the stars fell, Jalen was alone in the kitchen of his home. His father had been teaching Jalen about cooking since a young age, and today he had left his teenage son in charge of icing the cakes. Jalen watched, mouth agape, as a pastel purple light descended into his yard. When it passed through the wall, Jalen nearly knocked several cakes off the counter.
Speaking telepathically, the light offered him a deal. Without hesitation, Jalen accepted, hoping it would be a chance to do something meaningful with his life. The light settled into the form of a black cat, and he named her Stelmaria after a character in a book he was reading.

Gift: Temporean
Knight transformation:

Mainly a long coat, with some Victorian influence to represent the time-based aspects of the Temporean class. If need be, he can remove the coat to reveal a similar vest that's a little less ornate but allows more mobility.

Jalen uses this watch to transform and also needs it when he's using any time-based powers.
Sprite Name: Stelmaria
Sprite's Disguise: A black cat with green eyes. Occasionally the Sprite will forget her disguise momentarily, and her eyes will revert to purple.
